For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 23/10/2014 21:18

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

H girls. AF arrived last night at 13dpo. As Frolic said, I had no sore boobs, no cramps, nothing. Weird. Also my temps never got particularly high although I do tend to stop temping after ov confirmed.

Have decided to do two more soy cycles. CM wasn't an issue particularly but going to take EPO this month anyway. Will do 2-6 this month, 150 for three days then 200.

Heart to heart with DH last night. I'd always assumed he wouldn't want to do IVF or anything. He's careful with money and of course there is no guarantee it will work. We've decided to try until June with me concentrating on losing weight and doing some acupuncture after Christmas. That will be a year then from conceiving the ectopic (although it didn't resolve until October) and then look into IVF. He was all like "of COURSE we'd have IVF, what are the point of savings if we won't spend them in something like this?" Which really surprised me. I'm in two minds, we have a gorgeous DS and maybe the money would be better spent on him. Anyway, cross that bridge later.

new your acupuncturist isn't in surrey is she? If so, could I have her details?

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 27/11/2014 10:12

Af is here full force for me too since yesterday. I don't think I'm going to do soy again this cycle, though I haven't quite decided. I don't really want to try anymore. It will be a year in December since we started trying and its be difficult.

It's shit disney. It so so crap. And it's bloody unfair. And frustrating. And all those things. Have you seen anyone yet about difficulty conceiving?

NewEraNewMindset · 27/11/2014 11:55

Ah I'm sorry she works in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Well I decided to test on 12dpo just because I knew it was going to be negative and was worried the longer I waited the more I might get my hopes up that AF wouldn't arrive. Well obviously it was stark white negative. Totally gutted.

I've managed to conceive twice this year Boys, but had two early miscarriages at 5weeks. Had rhe blood tests etc for clotting and they found I was on the lower end for blood protein or something. Referred to gynae and she just told me to keep trying.

God I'm now stuck in a cubicle in the swimming pool with years streaming down for face after telling DP. I hate how humiliating this whole process is and that I'm not strong enough to deal with it. I just wish I didn't care one way or the other.

tootsroots · 27/11/2014 12:24

Hace started soy this month on cd 3 - 7 at 110mg eve doses trying to shorten my long and unproductive cycles!

Metalhead · 27/11/2014 13:11

Just popped in to see how you're all getting on, sorry to see so many have been visited by AF! Hugs to everyone who needs one Flowers

iniquity · 27/11/2014 13:37

Disneyland have you looked into baby aspirin it may help with the clotting issue.
New era have you thought about trying agnus cactus?
I haven't decided yet whether to experiment with soy. I know I conceived last time when my cycle extended from 25 to 30 days. I don't know how to trigger that again or just to wait.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 27/11/2014 13:51

Yes I tried baby aspirin for a couple of months but I felt strange using it and my skin was bruising really easily when I was taking it so just felt like it wasn't right.
As with the not trying anymore, I've told my do that if I mention the words ovulation or ovulate in the next month to slap me, haha (not literally). I just. Red a couple of months of not thinking about it anymore because it's driving me crazy.

Feel heartbroken.

ditzzy · 28/11/2014 07:41

Sorry to barge onto this thread, but I just spotted Loopy here. If you don't see my message on the other: so so sorry for you this morning Flowers

Nordicmom · 28/11/2014 07:44

Oh loopy I'm so sorry :(! I've been there , big hugs

Metalhead · 28/11/2014 07:47

I'm so sorry to hear that loopy. Flowers

Boysclothes · 28/11/2014 08:54

Oh loopy I'm so sorry mate. Are you sure? I only ask because I had so much bleeding with DS in the first tri but all was fine.

LoopyLa · 28/11/2014 09:01

Boys it's really heavy & been going on hours. No cramping as such but it's definitely not happening for me Sad

Boysclothes · 28/11/2014 09:04

I'm sorry, it's so worrying. That is exactly what happened with DS though, and it went on pretty much for 12 fucking horrible weeks. Def test again in a couple of days. Have you spoken to GP?

NewEraNewMindset · 28/11/2014 09:10

So sorry Loopy Sad.

I have heard rumblings of many soy pregnancies ending in MC but that seems to get muddled by a lot of the women resorting to soy having had difficult pregnancies and miscarriages previously. It does worry me though.

LoopyLa · 28/11/2014 09:32

NewEra that's interesting to hear. I will try SI again I think but on a lesser dose.

LoopyLa · 28/11/2014 09:34

Not spoken to GP as I'm only 4+5, not sure what they could do? I might test in a few days & perhaps talk to GP on Monday if still showing positive.

NewEraNewMindset · 28/11/2014 09:35

Are you absolutely sure it's all over though? I know you are bleeding but have you retested at all?

NewEraNewMindset · 28/11/2014 09:37

Ah cross posts. Yes I think retest in a couple of days and see what the line is like. If you still have a strong line then I definitely think seeing the GP would be a good idea, even if it's just to get it logged on the system that you have had a loss.

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 28/11/2014 09:53

I'm really sorry this is happening to you Loopy it's awful. But I would also say to retest in a few days. I too had quite heavy bleeding with DS on and off for the first 16 weeks of my pregnancy. Xxx
