The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Anger making treacle, did you slap her just a little bit??

Treaclepie19 · 30/10/2014 07:41

I wanted to.
It's upsetting how much I feel like that though so I have to make sure I remain calm... or I may be arrested :p

DulcetMoans · 30/10/2014 07:50

It's normal treacle, don't worry. People say if because they think it's supportive (I hope anyway!) but it's not helpful at all. Had similar conversations with MIL who is always telling me about how 'you heard about people that stopped trying/went on holiday/whatever and got pregnant' so that's all we have to do. Erm... No! Life is not that simply.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 30/10/2014 08:06

Hey ladies - sorry I've been AWOL. I found it hard to keep seeing so many new faces join.
Anyway - I got a BFP this morning at 14dpo Smile now the nerves kick in. I just wanted to pop in and give you all a bit of good news.
As some of you know I've had 2 mcs in the last year and found the lovely ladies here so supportive! A real blessing.
This cycle was my first trying acupuncture (thanks Grey!) and my second taking Soy Isoflavones. Definitely worth thinking about If you have irregular ovulation or long cycles. Brought my ov forward from cd21-23 to cd18 the first month and cd14 this month.
And don't give up hope, you will all get there, I know at times it seems such a bleak prospect but don't give up. Stay positive Smile

daisysunshine2 · 30/10/2014 08:15

Congratulations English! What lovely news to wake up to :) I'll be testing in the next few days already planning whether I can get to tescos and back in my lunch hour today really really really hoping for BFP!

I'm looking at starting acupuncture after Christmas if I'm not pregnant by then... How much is it?

Treacle and Dulcet my MIL and SIL (SIL has a 2 year old from an unplanned pregnancy whilst "on the pill") constantly tell me that's it's the most natural thing and will happen when it happens and to stop worrying because I'm only upsetting myself. Easy for them to say!!! My SIL has even joked I should go on the pill.... Enough said.

Treaclepie19 · 30/10/2014 08:18

So so pleased for you English, i really am. Don't go too far! :)

Thanks Dulcet, you're right. People are trying to help. It's hard when they haven't been through it.

Oh daisy, i hope you gave her an evil stare :p

Talking of evil, I'm dressing as Maleficent this weekend for a friend's bday/halloween party. Eek :D

Congrats English Halloween Grin

EnglishGirlsReturned · 30/10/2014 08:29

It's really worth trying. This cycle my temps have been much more consistent and I've generally felt calmer. They lady I see does an initial 5 treatments for £200 and then it's about £50 a session I think. I had 3 over 3 weeks, she's now on holiday and I'll be seeing her on Wednesday. I'll see her every week until 12 weeks

Monten · 30/10/2014 09:20

english!!!!! That's amazing news! Massive congrats - so looks like the soy isoflavones really work! So pleased for you.

Re. accupuncture - I actually did acupuncture in the month I got pregnant last time (but after checking my dates there's a possibility I was already pregnant when I first went to see her so not 100% sure it was that). I haven't gone back though, as I just didn't click with her. So I'd like to find a new one. I'm in London - has anyone got any recommendations?

greysar · 30/10/2014 09:30

OMG English congratulations!!! Grin

Boozle80 · 30/10/2014 09:41

English that is such amazing, amazing news! Can you get to an epu and ask about an asprin prescription and progesterone?

EnglishGirlsReturned · 30/10/2014 10:05

Thanks ladies!
I think my progesterone is ok... My temps have been consistently high.
I'm going to book a drs appointment for a couple of weeks time and see what they say. Hopefully the continued acupuncture will help too.
I'm going to stay positive and hope that this time things work out well!

broodylicious · 30/10/2014 11:44

Yippeeeeee english!!!!! I am so thrilled for you, you really deserve your beautiful bfp GrinGrinGrin Xx

chasingtherainbow · 30/10/2014 11:50

Congratulations English! Happy healthy pregnancy ahead for you I hope x

Guys I need some help:

  • this morning I did an OPK. My first ever positive. Big smiley face. I'd counted cd13 since bleeding. Anyways. Decided to do an frer as I wanted to see a neg.

It was fucking positive. Not even slightly positive. Like as positive as they could bloody get.

So I do a digi. When I first got my bfp I was only getting little lines on the frer and the digis were neg. . . The digi is 1-2?

Then I do another positive again.

I start freaking out. My mc isn't complete, I'll need surgery etc etc.

Got a Dr's app. His test is positive too.

Too late to scan at the epu today so have to go tomorrow.

I'm freaking out. I bled for 4 days and it was bright red, heavy and I'm sure I passed little clots and tissuey bits.

There's no way there's a healthy pregnancy in there. Why are my tests stronger than before!?

Brummiegirl15 · 30/10/2014 13:04

Woo hoo English that is amazing!!!!!!! As. 2 mc'er this year as well I am so thrilled for you!! Please keep us posted. Hang on in there little English bean!

Hmm Chasing I don't know what to say - but as you only bled 13 days ago it could still be incomplete or just have hormones. I was told when I had my ERPC to take a pregnancy test at 2 weeks. I took tests at 10 days, 14 days and 16 days. 10 and 14 it was still positive and 16 was negative.

I was told you must do a test before starting again so you can ensure a clean sheet so to speak to start again.

It may well be that it is complete but your hcg levels haven't dropped enough. They reduce by half every 36 hours or something like that.

I'm so sorry this has probably caused you real distress. Keep testing is my advice and fingers crossed you won't need anymore treatment. Big hugs xxx

chasingtherainbow · 30/10/2014 13:17

These were my tests. The lightest one you see was the day before I started bleeding.

Didn't take any more tests until today. I'll post this mornings.

Treaclepie19 · 30/10/2014 14:00

I wish I had something reassuring to say :(
hopefully when they scan you all will become clear.
Could it be a new pregnancy? Sorry if you've already answered that.

OP posts:
chasingtherainbow · 30/10/2014 14:20

No :( only had sex once since I bled at that was Monday just gone.

NewEraNewMindset · 30/10/2014 14:42

Chasing - there is a chance that you do have retained tissue and it is producing HCG, enough to make the positives more positive IYSWIM.

What happened with your mc. Did you have a scan to confirm that the mc was complete? If you had a bleed at home and assumed it was a mc then it might have been a Subchorionic Hematoma and the pregnancy is still progressing.

I think you have ruled out a new pregnancy haven't you?

Really really hope it's good news for you xxx

NewEraNewMindset · 30/10/2014 14:44

English, YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Grin. How fabulous. Sounds as though the soy worked beautifully. I have looked at it myself but as I have regular cycles with early OV I understand it could screw my cycles up. Real shame as I need some hope 18 months in Sad

chasingtherainbow · 30/10/2014 14:48

No one ever took my bloods or checked the mc was complete. But I bled red blood for 4/5 days and I know I passed tissuey bits. It seems too much to count as a early preg bleed. I was sure the mc was over once I'd stopped bleeding. I don't think there's a healthy pregnancy at all. But I'm worried that I'll need a d & c. I'm terrified.

NewEraNewMindset · 30/10/2014 14:58

Chasing did they scan you at any point and if they did what did they see and at what gestation?
