The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Thank you Charlie and Sarah. I think I will look at going to docs again.

Sitting here with cramping and twinging boobs thinking I've somehow imagined it all up!

bluefreckles · 28/10/2014 15:54

All my tests have been on my IC tests. So reluctant to pay out for a digital until I at least get a proper faint line

charlieis30 · 28/10/2014 15:56

bluefreckles just wanted to add I really hope what I said didn't hurt your feelings, I'm a bit grumpy about my own situation today and it came out a bit in what I wrote. It's a truly horrible time you're going through and I absolutely identify with everything you wrote. I think what I wrote was to myself as much as it was to you :/ (not to self, step away from the pee cup!)

sarahlou I "only" had one ERPC, my first MC was natural. I can't imagine having another.

freckles def try the GP. If they are hesitant to do the extra tests, really push them. I found that crying profusely got it done!

sarahlou20 · 28/10/2014 16:05

charlie - Sorry you're feeling a bit down today and even more so that you've been through two MCs. TTC afterwards takes over your life doesn't it? It's all I can think about every day. How long have you been TTC? I haven't had chance to properly catch up on the thread yet so I hope you don't mind me asking. x

NewEraNewMindset · 28/10/2014 16:06

Bfn this morn at 9dpo. No symptoms, I know I'm not pregnant so just focusing on how long my cycle will be this month. I'm guessing 25 days. Acupuncture tomorrow.

charlieis30 · 28/10/2014 16:28

Hi sarahlou I came off the pill about a year ago. MC1 was in [email protected] (natural), MC2 was a crap crap one - private scan @8w (Aug) showed very slow heart, a week later heart had stopped. ERPC@10wks. We paid to have chromosome testing and it had a trisomy which is "good" news as randomly occurring (e.g. less likely to be a problem with my hormones, womb etc).

CD7 today so FC for this month! I'm lucky, I seem to get preg reasonably easily (3 months each time) so I'm REALLY hoping third time's the charm!

I wish mumsnet had signatures, it would make it much easier to keep track of everyone!

How are you doing?

sarahlou20 · 28/10/2014 16:41

Oh charlie, you've had such a tough time of it this year, particularly your second MC. I hope you've been having plenty of support in RL and that third time is definitely lucky for you Flowers.

I never really got to see my little bean. Even when we had the scan at the EPU that confirmed the MMC and the sonographer pointed out the 'baby' on the screen, I couldn't really see what I was looking at, probably because my eyes were a bit blurry with tears. Did you have your ERPC at an NHS hospital? How were you able to get chromosome testing?

I came off the pill in March this year and like you got pg very quickly. Had a MMC at 9 weeks (only measured 6 weeks) in June. I'm now on CD33 of my 2nd proper cycle (not counting WTF) and have had incredibly sore, balloon-like boobs for over a week now which is very exciting. Am hoping to test on Sun or Mon.

Nic89 · 28/10/2014 17:05

Charlieis30, Hey sorry to hear you got your period too, it really does suck! Had a cry this morning and then pulled myself together thinking there's always next month! I'm sure things will work out for all just gotta keep positive!

Hi sarahlou20, sorry to hear you got your period too! This is my 4 cycle now just sucks big time. I got preg on the pill, noticed that I was late a week after I'd stopped the pill, was sick and feeling very tired, tested in the morning at work and got a BFP only to start bleeding that night, then had to wait a week to hit six weeks for the hospital to scan me, to be told that I have had a natural miscarriage worst week of my life! Sorry to vent xx

thesmallbear · 28/10/2014 17:27

Sarah - yes did an IC at lunch time and another clear line. I guess that's definite then! The thing is... apart from the odd mild period type pain I don't feel pregnant at all Confused

Last time I was pregnant I made an appointment to see the doctor. But I've heard of people just phoning the doctors to get themselves in the system. Should I just call them? If I make an appointment and look scared, do you think they'd book me in for an early reassurance scan?

Sorry to all of you who are having a rubbish time Sad

Nic89 · 28/10/2014 17:37

Congrats small bear, like they say every pregnancy is different ! Xx

sarahlou20 · 28/10/2014 17:58

smallbear - Oh that's definitely a definite! Smile Congratulations!!!! Don't worry about not feeling pregnant. Everyone has different symptoms, etc.

I think procedures for getting yourself booked in varies from place to place. When I was last pg I made an appointment to see the Dr and just saw the practice nurse which was a complete waste of time as she just told me to take folic acid, which I was already doing, and gave me a maternity pack with a telephone number to make a booking appointment with the midwife at 8 weeks. It might be worth booking a proper GP appointment to see how you get on.

charlieis30 · 28/10/2014 17:59

smallbear i would make an appt if you can spare the time. my gp has already told me she will refer me for early scan at 8w for my next preg but I've had 2mc. i think it is good to actually see them and yes i would definitely look very scared if you think that will help!. although mine is pregnant herself so im not sure i do want to see her Hmm

charlieis30 · 28/10/2014 18:04

i also wouldn't tell the receptionist why you want to see the gp. you dont have to and it will avoid you being fobbed off on the nurse Grin

thesmallbear · 28/10/2014 18:26

Thanks all, I'll ring up tomorrow. My doctors are always really busy though so it may be an age before I can get an appointment.

daisysunshine2 · 28/10/2014 18:39

Congratulations smallbear! :) x

Monten · 28/10/2014 19:14

Urrgh - got baby bombed today. A guy at work, who I struggle with at the best of times as he is so smug and self-satisfied, told me his wife is pregnant, again. He actually sent me a message about it, saying he knew I'd been caught off guard with similar announcements recently (referring to that time my colleague came up and told me she was pregnant in front of everyone) and so wanted to warn me, as he knew it would come up at team night out tomorrow. Which is very thoughtful of him really. I just hate that I'm now a person that needs special 'handling'. Sad I'm not very good with thinking people are pitying me.

Congrats smallbear! Have I also missed another bfp??

Brummiegirl15 · 28/10/2014 19:22

Fantastic smallbear that's fantastic!!!!

I've just tested again - negative again. FFS why do we do this???

broodylicious · 28/10/2014 19:41

Eeeek smallbear!!!! Congratulations, that's such fantastic news SmileSmile when I said yesterday not to fret/get too down about your friend's baby/visit because you'd soon be showing off your own baba, I obvs must have known about today's bfp WinkGrin

sarahlou20 · 28/10/2014 19:43

Brummie - I'm exactly the same. Keep doing cheeky IC tests knowing full well that it's too soon yet. How many days past OV are you?

daisysunshine2 · 28/10/2014 20:54

I'm really hoping I get a BFP this month! Testing on Sunday... Today have such sore bbs (only happend when pregnant) and just got really angry with DH for 'eating too loudly' Hmm not usually such a bitch not in the mood to say sorry but have put countryfile on for him so hope he knows the thought is there. I hate hormones I'm never like this! Will be gutted if I get BFN :(

Sorry for me me me, moving on!

Sarahlou and brummie how many dpo are you? Sorry you got BFN :( hugs

Monten sorry you got baby bombed :( it really sucks but I think maybe your work colleague was trying to be nice and thoughtful but I know how you feel when actually you just don't want to know or be pitied :( it's a really rubbish time, hope things get better soon hugs

thesmallbear · 28/10/2014 21:02

Yes, thanks broody. I think you sent me baby dust Grin

Sorry about the baby bomb Monten. They suck!

chasingtherainbow · 28/10/2014 21:09

waves hands frantically

Throw that bebe dust this way!

Thepurplegiraffe · 28/10/2014 21:20

I know what you mean Daisy, I have done nothing but snap at DH tonight. That's probably just me and my exhaustion though, no chance of an apology from me either.

bluefreckles · 28/10/2014 22:27

Hey ladies

Well just been to the loo and AF has got me Sad

I'm out of the game until June next year as DP and I had decided October was our last month until then, as we're getting married next September and if we carried on much longer I'd be heavily pregnant at the wedding.

Mixed feelings. Part relief at finally being out of the WTF cycle (with a fairly decent 34 day cycle) and putting an end on the last few hellish weeks, but sadness at knowing I won't feel that pregnancy excitement for some months now.

MrsConfusion · 28/10/2014 23:19

Oh blue that's rotten, hope you can indulge in some TLc and Wine tonight? Sad to be pausing ttc but exciting to have wedding to plan Smile

Sorry to hear about baby bombs and BNFs and out-of-control hormones. Hugs to all. It's so hard but you're all such feisty, brave, funny ladies. Love the idea of stealth apology to DH by putting on country file!

CD34 here. I'm torn between wanting to test and not daring in case it's negative then I can't even hope and will instead worry that body is broken, how daft is that? DH back later this week so if no AF by then....
