The December 2014 bus is here armed with mulled wine, mince pies, mistletoe and a sack-full of BFPs

Cariad2014 · 02/10/2014 11:32

This bus is for anyone ttc hoping to get a BFP in December.

I know it's super early, but as I'm currently on a 2 month enforced break from ttc following a ruptured ectopic, December is the next bus I can catch.

Do feel free to come and join me on the journey.

Changed my username! Just clicked having my real name on here is not very sensible! (AmyyLawsonn)

I have a horrible feeling I don't belong on this bus anymore :( I am awaiting a BFN before we can start TTC properly and 2 weeks after start of MC I am still getting a BFP, although now faint on a first response (but very definitely there). I will be making a new thread (when I find out how!) to get some advice from other ladies who have been in the same position as the hospital didn't give me any advice on what would happen after my medical management! So if anyone here has been through that I would really appreciate your advice!

On another note, hope you are all well this morning! I have a good feeling that Santa has many BFPs for you in his sack for December! Wink

Tiredbadger · 11/11/2014 10:28

Hello ladies, can I join?

ttc #2 since May but only just got my first AF since having my DD 14 months ago! So no idea when I will ovulate as didn't have regular cycles before DD. Really hoping for a BFP for Christmas!

spinningirl10 · 11/11/2014 10:41

Amy, sorry to hear of your mc. Don't leave this bus, there's lots of ladies been through similar who will advise. I had an early mc and my Hpts showed negative very soon but I know it's a longer wait for some. Fx you get your sticky bfp soonThanks

Amyyy27 · 11/11/2014 11:04

Thank you Spinning, I sooo hope I do x

Shootthemoon · 11/11/2014 11:29

Sorry to hear that Amyy but do stick around.

Welcome to new joiners!

Nannynome thank you - I'm sure your nannying experience will be such a massive help. I struggle with ideas for entertaining one, never mind two! But friends with 2 under 2 say they play together so nicely as they get older.

Shootthemoon · 11/11/2014 11:30

Oh and nannynome I have two sets of twins in my family - both identical though so apparently not hereditary. I quite like the idea Grin

TrixieRay · 11/11/2014 12:22

Dizzy, I found the impatient woman's guide really helpful for a good overview. I also read;

The baby making bible by Emma Cannon- really focuses on Chinese medicine, eating the right foods, positive thinking etc. I started having acupuncture after reading this and AF had treated me a lot better since.

Trying to get pregnant and succeeding by Marissa Peer- really focusses on positive thinking which I found really helpful last cycle. Gave me a massive boost.

Trying to conceive; A Helpful, Honest A-Z for Coping with Fertility Worries while trying to get pregnant by Genevieve Morton - this is only £0.51 for the kindle version and I would definitely recommend it. Felt like it put things into perspective for me along with the Marissa Peer book.

I also read a fictional book - Emma; desperately seeking baby. It took a while to get into and I nearly gave up as I didn't love the writing style but by halfway through I was pretty gripped.

As you've probably guessed, I like to read! Probably should have changed my name to bookworm.

I've been listening to a Zita West relaxation for fertility CD too which helped me sleep better and made me feel more positive.

I think Taking charge of your fertility is supposed to be very good and informative - it has brilliant reviews on Amazon.

TrixieRay · 11/11/2014 12:24

ps- completely forgot to welcome all the new passengers, welcome!! Smile

We were talking about twins on the November bus - I would love for Santa to bring me a twin BFP!

Treaclepie19 · 11/11/2014 12:32

I love this book chat, if you want a good cry read Pieces of you by Ella Harper.
A heartbreaking story.
I'd love twins too :)

nannynome · 11/11/2014 13:03

I worked with several sets of twins, love the idea but not the costs involved!!

The book was called There's a house inside my mummy btw shootsthemoon.

Number3cometome · 11/11/2014 13:10

Hi ladies! I'm not quite off the November bus yet, CD32 today, BFN this morning and progesterone levels on day 21 24 we rubbish (just 10) but I will jump on the December bus anyway!

Good luck and hopefully Santa will bring us our much wanted BFPs!!

MrsGlitter · 11/11/2014 13:13

Can I jump aboard please? I haven't been on any threads for a looong time as I fell pretty low about three months ago when it still wasn't happening and decided to take a break from the online chats to give me a rest.

Ok here's my story: TTC number one. Had copper coil out in April, fell pregnant immediately, lost it in June at 5.2 weeks :( AF went back to normal the next month apart from some clotting (stopped after two cycles). Been pretty much normal ever since - always comes between 26-28 days.

Intensely frustrated that it hasn't happened since and my husband is just as disappointed as me. Nice to have you to chat to, ladies!

Dozygirl · 11/11/2014 14:09

Welcome back mrsglitter. I always have moments where I think being a part of the buses is too much for me but on the other hand it's good having ppl to talk to going thru the same thing.

I'm feeling a bit too low at the moment to the point that I'm even getting upset seeing people on here get bfps which is definitely not the point!! I am happy for ppl and it gives me hope that ppl do get their bfps and I know I've not been trying as long as others on here so I have no right to feel upset but there u go.

Got doctors appointment tomorrow but I get so nervous going in case they just look at me like I'm an idiot. I never know how to explain what the problem is and this is even worse. I just don't want them to fob me off and say that the spotting I've been getting is normal.

Anyway I don't want to depress everybody so I'll go now ! I'll report back after the appointment and see if they'll do anything to put my mind at rest :)

Amyyy27 · 11/11/2014 14:40

Dozy Good luck with your appointment tomorrow!

SueBridehead · 11/11/2014 16:10

Can I join?

Suebridehead, 31, ttc#1, cycle 5, BFP expected December 10th.

REALLY want a bfp this month and am going to try really really hard: lots of dtd, temping for first time and using ovulation tests as well.. Also going to reflexologist.

I think, because it's my first, I still think it's almost unbelievable that it will happen.. The more months that go by the less I believe it will actually happen! And now I want it so much. Does anyone else ever feel like this?

knittedmittens · 11/11/2014 16:45

Afternoon all. Welcome to new passengers.

Nannynome I have twinbies Smile I have b/g who are 3. They are great fun! Don't worry about them being on your DH's side though - twins that run in families happen because the woman inherits a tendency to release two eggs (lots of sets on my side). That's why identicals are not hereditary as Shoot said, they happen when an egg splits but chance.

Sorry, that was a long, boring biology lesson Blush I'm sure you'll adjust to 2 under 2 in no time Grin

Sorry to hear you are still getting positives Amyy. Like Spinning my HCG went down really rapidly. Do you have the number for your EPU at all? Fingers crossed you get that BFP soon.

Good luck with the appointment Dozy Flowers

CD 4 here. Bored!

Shootthemoon · 11/11/2014 18:25

Although I do have a set of friends whose DC2 was actually DCs 2, 3... and 4! Four under 3 anyone? Smile

waves at everyone who hopped on today

alovelycuppatea · 11/11/2014 18:28

Hello? I think in my excitement I managed to get on the wrong bus?

I was looking for the January bus but as usual am far too early. Do you ladies mind if I hang out here for a bit and share your excitement and BFPs?

alovelycuppatea, 37, ttc#1, cycle 0 I guess! Just waiting for next month to get cracking Grin

Dozygirl · 11/11/2014 19:06

U can look out for tips for when u do start trying lovelycuppatea :)

butterflycats · 11/11/2014 19:38

sue I feel exactly the same! like it's never going to happen. Also if I'm not pregnant by march I won't get maternity pay so feels like the pressure is on! I never realised how much of an emotional roller coaster it would be!

Beansprout30 · 11/11/2014 20:55

Suebridehead we have almost exact same stats! Feeling the same as you, ive almost convinced myself that it wont happen for me and dh, the amount of friends who have told me it happened first try for them makes me so worried that we have something wrong. I need to chill out but ive never experienced something that takes over your thoughts so much!

spamanderson · 11/11/2014 20:56

Hi lovelies :) not been on in a few days as I've been away :) lush to be back home again though! I'm now on day 3 of my cycle, found out last month that I didn't ov until like day 19 of my cycle so hoping it'll be the same again this month :) hubby is having his vasectomy reversal done this week, then 2 weeks rest so we'll hopefully be able to start trying right away and hopefully just at the right time too. Unlikely to happen that quickly after his op, but there's no harm in getting some practice in right ??. IF and that's a big IF, it did work, I'd be looking for a BFP on 7th December (my birthday so that'd be an awesome bday pressie!)
Just keeping our fingers crossed as the op isn't a guaranteed success, approx 50-60% of a resulting pregnancy :/ if anyone has got a bit of fairy dust spare, shove some our way please to go with all of my crossed fingers and toes!

spamanderson · 11/11/2014 21:10

Sue & bean, I felt like that with our 2nd child. I fell with our eldest at 21, she was unplanned but very wanted. I thought I'd never be able to get pregnant at all. We tried for our 2nd, tried for 9 months, had a chem pregnancy and again thought it just wasn't meant to be, we'd never have another child. We stopped trying in the September to have 2 months break as we were getting married in the November. We must of DTD once maybe twice in those 2 months and discovered I was 5 weeks pregnant....a week before our wedding. I'm convinced it was the stress of trying that stopped us having any luck. It's so tough to do as you really want it to happen but the stress can stop things from happening. We've got a lot of pressure this time for it to work so wouldn't be surprised if it's a long old journey. I know the feeling with people who just seem to fall pregnant with no effort, those who get despondent after trying for 1 month (one of my friends is just like this, she fell in the 2nd month but her first 2 were unplanned), then the people who miss one pill and fall pregnant. We're all so different, it's natural for some to find it much easier than others but it doesn't make it feel any better does it? Try to enjoy the process, don't let it consume you too much ( I know soooo much easier said than done definitely hasn't been looking at baby names or clothes already)

SueBridehead · 11/11/2014 21:15

I'm glad it's not just me then.. I think if I ever actually see a bfp I will be so shocked! I really wish we'd started earlier now as so wanted to be pregnant by Christmas.

Maybe it's our month girls! Is anyone else trying something different this month?

SueBridehead · 11/11/2014 21:19

Thank you spamanderson, reassuring to hear that. I'm really trying to relax but don't want to miss a chance.. My cycles are sometimes quite long so feels like an eternity til the next! Just really hope there's nothing more too it than being unlucky.
