Hello, this is a follow on from the half stone for September thread! Natty and I decided it was time to re-think our goals!!

coggy · 12/11/2006 18:45

We'll probably be throwing up then instead!!!!!

ready4motherhood · 12/11/2006 18:53

LOL... very true!! Why is it I am longing to be throwing up?? I must be mental

coggy · 12/11/2006 18:55
Grin
MrsMcJnr · 14/11/2006 11:09

How are you all getting on? we still have 6 weeks to make the difference.

Had a really good day yesterday, started with 10 min yoga workout, then green tea, grapefruit juice and porridge with skimmed milk.

Homemade veg soup and a wholemeal chicken and salad sandwich for lunch.

Homemade tacos for dinner.

30mins on cross trainer BUT then work chat stressed me out and I had 1/2 bottle red wine and 2 chocolates. Furious with myself about the wine .

So far so good today, green tea, grapefruit juice, porridge, apple, baby carrots and some yoghurt covered raisins.

Must confess, not doing well. AF in town and a stinking cold so I have just had some chocolate cake and a cup of rooibos tea (naturally caffeine free ).

Breakfast, oatcrisp and skimmed milk. orange and cranberry juice.
Lunch, Ham sandwich, handful of almonds, pineapple yoghurt and a cup of hot lemon and honey.
Tea will be spag bol cos, naughty I know.

I feel like poo

ready4motherhood · 14/11/2006 17:15

PS. Home made veg soup MrsMc?? From one of my recipes?? Or a new one that you can share with me?

conkertree · 14/11/2006 17:19

does anyone know whether all Boots have got rid of their weighing machines - I used to go quite regularly to keep an eye on weight but the last time i went to the one in stirling, it had gone, and the woman said they were being phased out. Anybody any ideas for other places to get weighed (I've never found a set of scales to buy that are as accurate as electronic ones). Its a bit hard to stay motivated about eating healthily etc when i can't tell whether its working weightwise or not.

Tor14 · 14/11/2006 20:09

Hi, thought i'd join here as well as could do with losing a few pounds (well 14 pounds to be exact! ) Started 'healthy' eating yesterday.

Today I had
Breakfast: Yogurt and satsuma
Lunch: Chicken salad
Dinner: Stuffed mushrooms
4 cups of tea though, which isn't so great as trying to cut down on caffine.

Was meant to be going to the gym but couldn't get motivated, now really annoyed with myself, how often do you all exercise and what do you do?

MrsMcJnr · 15/11/2006 12:11

Poor you Ready, hope you feel better soon. I never really follow recipes for my soups. I just use the veg I have at home. This one was onions, celeric, carrots, leeks and chicken stock. Was nice though. I must make your Spanish chicken soon.

Hello Conkertree - that's annoying! I have seen them in railway stations I think, or gyms? I have some scales I bought for £20 in Debehhams but I only use them as a sneal preview as I go to (or am meant to got to) Scottish Slimmers for my weigh in! Actually, I way about 1 - 1.5 less on the SS scales! Going tonight for the first time in 3 weeks so am a bit nervous but the sneak preview says its not too bad.

Welcome Tor14. I want to lose 20 pounds. Have lost 6 since my honeymoon in July so I am not doing too well but at least it is in the right direction! I am 5ft6 and weigh 11st6 so am a bit on the lardy side Keep up the healthy eating and food posting. Have to say that exercise is my downfall. I try to go for long walks, do yoga for 10 mins in the morning and use my cross trianer for 20-30 mins 3 times a week but I often fall by the wayside . Natty keeps us motivated on here!

ready4motherhood · 15/11/2006 13:41

I could do with some soup actually

MrsMc - I was only joking on the special ttc diets thread hope you didn't take it to heart. I am sure you didn't.

Tor14 - exercise is my biggest problem, ttc has actually hindered me. I have the Davina cardio box, which I love to do, and lost weight doing it 3 times a week!! But since ttc I have been nervous doing strenuous exercise, and once you get out of the habit, it's hard to get back Plan is to start again once over my cold (always an excuse isn't there!)but I want to lose 7lbs before Christmas.

MrsMcJnr · 15/11/2006 14:22

You could do with more than soup this afternoon Ready! Hope you are ok!?

I know you were joking about the TTC diet thread - will get back to you on the name of the book.

OP posts:
ready4motherhood · 15/11/2006 14:35

Phew... not sure if I should comment on anything anymore... lost my radar of what is acceptable or not

I think this cold is bringing out the fire in me belly!!

Tor14 · 15/11/2006 17:06

MrsMc - I'm 5ft 9 and 12st 6lbs which is nearly the heaviest I've ever been! Doesn't help when my OH can eat what he likes and still look gorgeous

readyfor - Yeah exercise seems to be my downfall, I was going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week until about 3 weeks ago when I wasn't well and haven't managed to motivate myself back there. Just worried about the exercise I'm doing really as its always in the back of my mind that I'm ttc and shouldn't be 'over doing' it.

Food eaten today;
Breakfast; yogurt and fruit
Lunch; Egg salad sandwich and mullerlite yog
Did have hot chocolate last night though, but have to have something to look forward to

ready4motherhood · 15/11/2006 19:36

No exercise again today, unless you count excessive coughing and sneezing??

Breakfast: Oatcrisp and skimmed milk (I think I have an addiction) and hotwater with slice of lemon and 2 tsp of honey

Mid morning snack: Alpen bar
Lunch: BIG handful of Almonds, Little handfull of sunflower seeds, banana, yoghurt
Tea: Chicken fajitas with sour cream (eek)

I fully intend to have another honey and lemon hot water. And then bed. Early. No BDing

Does anyone know if being poorly can have a negative effect on the egg???? Probably not the right place for this question??

MrsMcJnr · 16/11/2006 09:46

Tor14 and Ready - both sound like you are doing well on the food front. Sorry you are still feeling rubbish Ready.

Got to my class late in a complete fluster because of my GD (long story!) I only lost 1/2 pound but I blame my wet jeans, she wouldn't let me take them off!

This week, I plan to be really good, write everything down, count it all in and really try to boost my activity levels.

Well done on the 0.5 pound loss

ready4motherhood · 16/11/2006 11:15

Well done on the 1/2lb!! And I would say that wet jeans weigh a lb!!!!!!

Still feeling poorly and sorry for myself!

Juicylucythe2nd · 17/11/2006 13:56

Just wanted to let you know my scan went fab on Tuesday and pod is tall (don't know who from as me and DH are not) and has a big nose (good sign as far as defects go - definately DH's baby )

Feeling much more confident.

Have a fab weekend girls.

indignatio · 17/11/2006 14:08

OK - lost 3/4lb this week - not sure how as I haven't been very good (too much choc). Need large kick up large behind to get me motivated again.

I have just worked out that it has taken 2 months to lose 7lb - not the fastest rate of progess in the world

indignatio · 17/11/2006 14:09

Sorry - congrats JL

MrsMcJnr · 17/11/2006 14:33

JL - thank you for coming to tell us, that it so lovely and I am so pleased. I have just posted for you on the ante-natal thread actually How are you feeling generally? still losing weight?

Indignatio - well done, a loss is the right direction and it has taken me 5 months to lose 7 pounds so you are much better than me!!

OP posts:
Juicylucythe2nd · 17/11/2006 14:44

Wow MrsMJ - have you lost 7lb in total. That's fab. I don't think I got above 2lb the whole time I was trying. Weight loss has stopped, but not gaining yet either. However, now have to face the pilates video (didn't want to start it before the 12wk mark) uuggghhh. It won't exactly be aerobic, but I have to do something to keep some sort of shape.

Thanks for thinking of me. Miss you too. Can't wait to see you on the anti-natal boards. I expect you, Coggy and Natty over there before the year is out. That's an order

Indignatio - no need to apologise (I shouldn't even be here really)

MrsMcJnr · 17/11/2006 15:43

Thank you I have been better on the booze, promise!

I can't wait to be on the anti-natal boards either but it looks like we've hit a set back - DH has a slipped disc and needs an op so he wants to have that asap. I just hope we mamage to get the BFP this cycle or I shall be feeling very selfish and sad over the next couple of cycles. Sods law hey!

Coggy and Natty are taking a break from Mumsnet for a while. They felt it was becoming all consuming and not good for them. I shall really miss them too .

Indignatio - we'll get the pounds off together though won't we?

OP posts:
Ready · 19/11/2006 17:06

I know that I can't replace Coggy and Natty, but I'm here for you MrsMcJnr - well done on your 7lbs!! Woo.

PS. It's ready4motherhood, but since it's easier to call me ready, i thought I would change.
