Hello, this is a follow on from the half stone for September thread! Natty and I decided it was time to re-think our goals!!

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 01/11/2006 12:47

Ready - my preggers mate refused to eat chocs with nuts in the other day in case the baby has a nut allergy. Seriously limits consumption of most things I like if it is a serious recommendation to avoid nutty things (or things in the vicinity of nuts!)

OP posts:
ready4motherhood · 01/11/2006 13:02

Darn... I thought I read about nut allergies, but convinced myself that it was peanuts. Boooo.

coggy · 01/11/2006 14:43

It is Ready4...............some people are just extra cautious.
My friend and I were pg at the same time........we went out for something to eat when we were both 8 months+ and she asked if the orange juice was pasturised......(????!!!!!)

I'd been drinking any old orange juice......don't know where she got that one from but I had to laugh!!!

Natty1806 · 01/11/2006 14:49

I love peanuts.

Not too sure if we make our children have allergies by not giving them these things, i mean if you don't eat peanuts when pregnant when are you brave enough to allow your child to have his first peanut just in case of a reaction?

However when i am pregnant i will be sticking to all the rules

pinkranger · 01/11/2006 18:53

mrsmc - Smooth Pate and Oatcakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt eat peanuts when i was preg but did eat peanut butter (not load but some) My Ds is fine but rrealised the other day that he will not eat peanuts so werent tottally sure so i made him eat a bit of Diary milk whole nut ---- He loved it !!!!

indignatio · 03/11/2006 08:15

Ok - weighing in with a 1/4 lb loss - really not sure how that happened as I haven't been good all week. What is it about this stage of dieting/time of the year which means we have all (apologies to the exceptions) gone off the rails ? What can be done about it - I need motivation - HELP

Natty1806 · 03/11/2006 09:05

I put on a pound and to be honest and not that bothered as i managed to eat loads and not count any calories all week.

However one month of goodness ready for the over eating in December.

Here is a kick from me to all of us who have beeen rubbish recently all must lose a pound by next week .

coggy · 03/11/2006 10:33

Just to say.....

~Scales say I've put on 3 pounds

I'm having a jolly nice time eating out and boozing tho!!!!!!

Will catch up more later.

pinkranger · 03/11/2006 10:45

Coggy -Could have written that myself!

Natty1806 · 03/11/2006 10:54

As long as you have been enjoying youself then whats 3 pounds?

MrsMcJnr · 03/11/2006 16:08

2 pounds off this week say home scales. Must be the lack of alcohol because I've eaten like a pig. Honestly ladies, had a few sips from a glass of white wine last night and just couldn't drink it - AF better not turn up when I'm off wine!!! Let's all be better next week. Shall we go back to posting our daily food, exercise and alcohol?

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 03/11/2006 16:24

Well done Mrs

Yeah back to posting daily intakes next week. x

ready4motherhood · 03/11/2006 21:19

Natty1806 · 04/11/2006 08:03

Yeah feel free.

coggy · 04/11/2006 09:11

Yeah..from Monday....daily postings!!!!
Got to do something to keep us on the straight and narrow (although you sound like a bit of a star MrsMc !!!)

Have to confess we went to an 'All You Can Eat' restaurant yesterday.............YUMMY!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad that we weren't doing our daily intake this weekend..........t'would be shocking!!!!!

MrsMcJnr · 06/11/2006 10:07

Ok ladies, we are not expecting posts for every item of food consumed but how did you start the day? did you kick off well?

I am feeling saintly after my aloe vera gel dosage (foul and I can't see any benefit and am nearly finishd the bottle), my porridge and raisins and skimmed milk, grapefruit juice, green tea, EPO and Royal Jelly!

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 06/11/2006 10:40

Yep I have started off well, brankflakes with skimmed milk, orange juice and a bannana. Plus have taken 2 litres of water to work with me today so hoping to get through that.

Only 7 more Fridays to go

ready4motherhood · 06/11/2006 10:51

Started off well too (how long will it last??) shredded wheat bitesize and skimmed milk, and a glass of cranberry & orange juice. and 1/2 a litre of water so far!! Aiming for 2 and a1/2 litres a day.

Natty1806 · 06/11/2006 11:35

2 ½ litres, i would be weeing all the time, think i will stick to 2 litres.

Looks like we are all off to a good start. x

ready4motherhood · 06/11/2006 11:44

At first I was weeing all the time but once your body gets used to the amount it regulates itself. My doctor told me 2.5 litres. But I think 2 litres is great! I am amazed at the amount of people that never drink water!

conkertree · 06/11/2006 13:22

Can I join you? Had special K and semi-skimmed milk today - I'm not a fan of skimmed I'm afraid. Green tea is such a fantastic drink. Out on Friday night and DH had a beer at the Japanese restaurant - I thought I'd healthy and go for carrot juice, and had to pretend it was really tasty all the way through the glass so DH didn't laugh at me. But had green tea too which made up for it.

Having mushroom soup - but not creamy, and a wholemeal pitta for lunch. Will definately have to try harder with the water.

How about exercise with everyone? Am feeling quite proud of myself - did an hours run on Sat and felt great afterwards, but think that will be the last hour long one for a while.

Natty1806 · 06/11/2006 14:30

Well for lunch i just had a salad sandwich on granary bread.

LOl at your carrot juice conkertree.

Have just given up the gym this month to try gentler exercise like yoga and walking my dog but am borrowing my friends mini trampoline to get my heart pumping 3 times a week.

coggy · 06/11/2006 16:54

Ooops!
I forgot we were writing it down from today!!!

Tomorrow will be better....

cereal (a bit sugary but muslei) and s-sk milk
fish, chip and peas and a fruit salad (school dinner!!)
toffee apple (for Children-in-need!!)

conkertree · 06/11/2006 17:05

are you a teacher coggy? and if so what kind - I am having serious career change thoughts, and teaching is something I've thought about for a long time. although has nothing to do with healthy eating so maybe the wrong thread

Natty1806 · 06/11/2006 18:25

Coggy - hope you enjoyed your fish and chips. Best be better tomorrow.

Being a bit naughty myself this evening have got chicken breast stuffed with cheese and then wraped in bacon with a Jacket potato. Yummmy. x
