Haha cupcake I was like that!! It was all wind Blush

poppet85 · 24/08/2014 20:57

Ducky thats an awful thing to happen . I would definately be writing to nhs complaints ( if you feel you've got the energy!! ) about the promised treatment and lack of it

Cupcake92 · 24/08/2014 21:14

It's like if I got a pin and popped my belly it'd all go haha

Is anyone else having to stay on folic acid and multi vitamins throughout ur whole pregnancy?
My midwife told me to stay on them till DC is born. Whereas last time I stopped them at 12 weeks.

Ducky23 · 24/08/2014 22:08

I just worry that by complaining they will not look after me in this pregnancy as well Confused

Haha cupcake I have a funny picture in my head now! I was told to carry on taking folic acid/multi vitamin after dd and the whole way through my pregnancy this time Smile suppose it can't hurt Grin

LuluJakey1 · 24/08/2014 22:34

We are here. Got here about 9. No traffic on roads hardly.

We have had supper and I am in bed. PIL are not for being up late and it suits me. DH is in the shower in our ensuite. After we got married they had an ensuite built into DH's old attic bedroom. It is very nice - we don't have one at home. It has a double shower which made us laugh when we first saw it. MIL was keen to point out it was on offer so they thought it made sense- she was not encouraging anyone to use it!

DH takes ever opportunity to tease her about it. ' Yeah it's so you and Dad nip can upstairs to our room and share a shower I bet'. She tries very hard to ignore him. FIL says the stairs are too much for him these days and he is past sex in showers. Grin

Bearsinmotion · 25/08/2014 07:03

Ducky my experience with the NHS has always been the more fuss you make the better care you receive - shouldn't be the case but it is. And it sounds like you are not getting proper care already, kicking up a fuss can only help.

In reality I hate doing it, but DP enjoys it and I let him get on with it!

steph1204 · 25/08/2014 09:26

Hi ladies!
I've my appointement to announce the news to my supervisor in one hour... I'm litterally paralized...! I didn't get to sleep last night, I am sure she will yell at me... I am going to tell her and afterwards, I will send her an email confirming the EDD and other informations and mentionning our meeting, just to have something written in case of problems. I am really scared...!
I will keep you posted (if I survive!!!)

Cupcake92 · 25/08/2014 09:50

Good luck steph :) and don't worry!

I agree with beats Ducky, if ur already not receiving the care u deserve complaining will only make it better

Cupcake92 · 25/08/2014 09:51

Bears* not beats! Silly auto correct !

Ducky23 · 25/08/2014 10:09

Think I will be stepping it up a notch then Grin I will be their worst nightmare!

Steph let us know how it goes! And remember she can't say/do anything to make you feel guilty etc about beig pregnant Wink

Siarie · 25/08/2014 10:49

Starting to get the waves of nausea now, I'm going to be taking vitamins throughout the whole pregnancy to cover my bases in case I don't get all the right food types. Besides I've found that my nails and hair are growing really well on them (finally have nails that are as strong as acrylics!).

Four days until I go on holiday!

Cupcake92 · 25/08/2014 11:13

Yay go Ducky! Grin

Oh dear Siarie. :( the curse of the nausea strikes again! I'm sat feeling pretty sick but I'm so hungry at the same time.
Good to know there's people aking multi vitamins throughout pregnancy :) I hope I don't forget to take one each day!

I have to go get more blood work done tomorrow morning. I'm also having the Down's syndrome test done. Had that with DS as well. Then I have my scan on Thursday :) I'm so so so incredibly nervous! Just praying we see a healthy growing baby

Ducky23 · 25/08/2014 11:18

How many weeks do they think you are on Thursday cupcake? Will be thinking of you! Just remember the dating during the early stages is not very reliable, they put me a week or so behind when I went for my 6 week scan (I was actually 7 weeks something I think) Smile and it must be good news for you to have symptoms still Grin

Am going to do some shopping in a bit and will grab some stuff for my hospital bag I think (cheap underwear/ travel toothpaste) Grin

lillamyy1 · 25/08/2014 11:20

Oh Ducky, what a horrible experience Thanks your old midwife sounds completely useless and also horrible! If that had happened to me, I'd have taken steps to get her sacked! Angry If she let that happen to you, she could easily be making problems for other women! And I definitely agree that you should be kicking up a huge fuss and insisting they give you the care they promised. There must be a way to find your consultant's name. I would hassle and hassle them until they gave in!

Ducky23 · 25/08/2014 11:29

Well I since found out there have been numerous complaints made about her!

The only good thing is that they have since changed their policy, before all that happened if someone came in with an anterior placenta they would just blame lack of movement on that but now they have said they have changed their policy so that anyone coming in with changed movements is referred straight for a scan. So hopefully it won't happen to anyone else!

steph1204 · 25/08/2014 13:35

Ppffff... I did it!
Finally, she wasn't mean and she didn't yell... she was in a good mood today. She told me that the end of my work contract will be delayed considering the maternity leave and talked about other adminitrative stuff linked to the pregnancy, and she ended up the conversation with a smile and a "congratulations, it as a good new".
I was a bit shocked by this nice and kind reaction... It took me one minute to realised I actually told her the news... Yiiihhaaaa! I'm so relieved!!!!!!
Thank you a lot ladies for your support!

Cupcake92 · 25/08/2014 13:42

They think I'll be 7-8 weeks, when by my lmp I'm 8-9 weeks. So in theory anyway I should see a baby there.

And well done steph!!! :D great news! Glad ur boss was so nice !

steph1204 · 25/08/2014 13:49

Thanks cupcake!
Fx for your scan on thursday!

Ducky23 · 25/08/2014 14:31

Yaaayyyy well done Steph Grin

Don't panic if you don't see a baby looking thing cupcake Grin at my 9 week scan it was a big head thing with a little body ha

Cupcake92 · 25/08/2014 17:19

Hahaa! Oh gosh! So I may just see a huge head and a tail? Lol!!

My midwife convinced it's twins.....

LuluJakey1 · 25/08/2014 17:42

DH thought it looked like a seahorse at 8 weeks and Mr Potato Head without the hat at our 12 week scan.
We are on our way home, decided to come back tonight because we both want to go into work tomorrow to get ready for the new year.

MIL did a great lunch. I am driving - they knocked back red wine, even the grandmas. DH is asleep. I have stopped at Scotch Gap for a wee.

One of the grandmas said to me 'You've not got much of a bump yet our Lulu. They often get bigger later with boys. Ooh I am hoping he's just like DH- he was such a lovely little boy. It wasn't until he got to 16 that he got bolshy'. Grin

Cupcake92 · 25/08/2014 22:02

Bless lulu :) hope u got home okay!

Hope everyone is having a nice evening! :)

Tonight we were supposed to have chilli con carne, but l got all the ingredients out and just suddenly felt incredibly sick. Then the thought of cooking chilli and eating it made me want to puke! Blah!!!! So had to tell DH I couldn't do chilli as I'd probably throw up in it. So we had steak instead :) my stomach was okay with that but I couldn't eat the chips. I'm just so shocked at how bad the ms is this time round! With DS I ate everything and probably had 2nds hahaa.

Ducky23 · 25/08/2014 22:08

Cupcake I was the same I couldn't cook/look at/think of mince meat! It made me heave!! I think your having a girl Grin (just a guess based on old wives tales!)

Cupcake92 · 25/08/2014 22:33

I find it so mad how different pregnancy can be Grin would be nice to have a girl Ducky. DS could be the protective big brother lol.
We've been making a list of things we will need to buy for baby.

It's a very long list haha!

LuluJakey1 · 25/08/2014 22:44

I can't face mince but that is what being an ex- vegetarian does. I only eat chicken and even then feel guilty and will stop again once the baby is born.

I wonder why you are so bad with MS this time Cupcake and never had it. last time. It is a good sign though that everything will be ok on Thursday.

I tried my new dress on tonight - we are going to a wedding in a few weeks. I can't wear it Sad I will have to get another one Smile but get one with some space in it. It will need to last me through until Christmas.

Baby lists are scary things Cupcake. I can believe how something so little can need so much stuff. PIL insisted on paying for the 'travel system' which I feel awful about but DH doesn't- he says they really want to do it, it is for their grandson and they can afford it so we should let them. I know my mum and dad would have done the same if they were here.
