Hello,

Was just wondering whether anybody has had a similar experience?

When trying for first child got pregnant the first month, however that ended in MC. Luckily I got pregnant again with DD after first month of trying again.

DD is now three, we would have started TTC sooner but I went back I Uni and I'm due to finish in November.

We have been trying for 5 months and no luck, worried that I've left it too late as I'm now 37.

I don't have any symptoms really. Some back ache and cramping, but very mild, and had that with DS as well. A little queasiness, but might be imaginary as well.

On the one hand, would of course want to have more symptoms. On the other hand, I was actually throwing up with the pregnancy that didn't stick, and barely had any symptoms with DS, so again they don't show anything.

Metalhead · 10/11/2014 21:55

Thanks ginger. At least I'm going on a work trip to Geneva tomorrow for two days so that should distract me a bit from the rest of this 2ww.

BobsyBoo · 10/11/2014 22:18

I'm a bit confused now I took I CB OPK tonight to confirm the strip OPK this afternoon, and I've got a blank circle on the CB Confused

I am sure the test line was as dark as the test line on the strip opk this afternoon, and judging by my EWCM I expected to get a positive today.

Anyway OH has let me down with DTD tonight as he's too tired! Then he said that I'd said every other day, but I had told him every other day till a +opk then we DTD every day, he's agreed to DTD tomorrow night so hoping it's not too late. I'm really hoping that I could still get pregnant with DTD last night.

I have actually been feeling really positive recently so I hope I can keep that up.

Thanks metal and mister. Fx crossed for you Metal 8 dpo is early for symptoms.

Ginger I took them cd's 2-7, assuming I got the start of AF right, that's why I ended up taking a day earlier than I wanted as I was on a spotting/light so wasn't sure what to class as CD1. I took 120 for 3 days, then 160 then 200 on last day.

lovemyboy No oh let me down, they're hard work aren't they! And I do not bother my oh for the rest of the month.

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 10/11/2014 22:30

Bobsy I'm not sure but think the CB monitor gives positives earlier usually e.g two days before ov for 2 days whereas the cheapies may only be positive for a few hours shortly before ov. Did you test with the CB yesterday? If not it may be that you missed the static smiley and ov'd/will ov today or tomorrow morning (which would make yesterday perfect timing!) Otherwise I don't know Confused sorry OH is being rubbish again, but yesterday and tomorrow should def cover your bases!

BobsyBoo · 10/11/2014 23:10

Thanks Mister I didn't know that. I only used the CB tonight so maybe I have already ov'd, I'm going to test tomorrow with both of them and now I've got my new thermometer I can take my temp in the morning and I should know if ov has taken place. If that is the case then yes yesterday would have been perfect timing. OH is such hard work, to be honest I wasn't in the mood tonight anyway but I still would have because I want a baby, he just doesn't see it like that.

Metalhead · 11/11/2014 07:28

bobsy it could be that you're like me and the test line on the ICs had to be darker than control to be positive. I only discovered this when I double checked with the CB digis too, which have me a blank circle on the day I got two lines the same colour. If that's the case you'll probably get a +ive today.

lovesmycake · 11/11/2014 07:43

Ginger I am so happy for you, also feeling a little emotional for you just because I have been following your journey for so long, Massive Congratulations GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

bobsy sounds like you are doing brilliantly this month too we are trying to do every other day too but it's hard work.

FX for you metal and little thinking of you today, it's another step closer to you getting pregnant.

I'm still waiting for my peak so just following SMEP (especially now we know it worked for ginger) All these BFP's are making me feel very positive so thank you ladies :)

crispiecrunchie · 11/11/2014 08:34

Hope you don't mind me joining! Only at 4 no ttc but at 41 don't have a lot of time. And this seems a lucky thread atm. Congrats at recent bpd's
Bobsy if it's the dual hormone one that always has a blank circle in first use as its setting a baseline so you'd need to use again to detect ovulation. I've realised that you need to use exactly as per instructions not use in random days.

That said I had positive on cb on Friday but only a positive on ic today!!! Ant ideas when I did or will I ovulate welcome!!!

GingerbreadHead · 11/11/2014 09:27

Morning all, good luck today Little will be thinking of you, hope it doesn't go as bad as expected for you.
Hello crispie welcome, this does seem to be a lucky thread at the moment! Hopefully we can stop the thread all together soon as we will all have our bfps!
Hmm, maybe the cb ones pick up the hormone surge before ov and the ICs pick up when you are actually oving? Just keep dtd and hopefully you will hit the right time!
aw thank you loves! I hope smep and soy does the job for you too this month. It would be so lovely if we could all move onto the same antenatal thread.
Bobsy hope you get a positive on your cb soon and OH does his job like he's promised to do. A week ago I was annoyed at DH as I didn't feel like we'd managed to dtd enough, but it obviously was enough, so if you can get him to go the day of your +ve and the day after then I think that will be enough. FX for you.
Also, are you using different wee each time you test? Sorry tmi!

I am still getting barely there lines on ICs but I did get another line on a FRER this morning, so I guess that is good? I'm so worried something is going to go horribly wrong. It still doesn't feel real. I think I might go out and get a cb digi today, do you think it should show up with a positive by now?

Metalhead · 11/11/2014 09:41

ginger stop testing!! You had a really lovely line on the FRER yesterday and the ICs are notorious for faint lines. Stop stressing yourself out unneccesarily by poas every day, that's an order! (Of course I know full well that I'd be the same... Smile)

crispiecrunchie · 11/11/2014 09:45

Thanks ginger! I have always found the cbdigi work early on so maybe tomorrow with fmu??

You'd think the positive would be the end but it just causes a new kind of poas addiction!!! Been there and if I'm lucky to get pregnant I'll be there again!!

Cx

GingerbreadHead · 11/11/2014 10:14

Thanks metal I needed to hear that! I told Mister and Hazle off for doing it, yet I am doing the same thing myself. I'm also making DH unsure, he just sent me a message saying I should go out and get a cb digi! Crispie you are right, with DD I only took 2 tests when AF was a few days late and that was the end of it, I knew I was pg, but after 16 months it's so hard to believe and feels so precarious!
metal forgot to say, hope you have a nice time in Geneva, despite it being work related, and manages to take your mind off things for a bit x

HazleNutt · 11/11/2014 10:17

You are clearly pregnant, Ginger, those are decent lines. When is AF due again? I would think that CB Digi should show something by now, but you can only get one, if you promise not to panic if it doesn't - it is less sensitive than FRER.

lovemyboy247 · 11/11/2014 10:55

Im just trying to catch up again so ill keep it shortish. Wrlcome crispie. This dies seem like the thread to be on at mo. I have used cb digital. It picks up fertile days (flashing smiley) a few days before ov then thr dolid smileybis the ov which kasts 2 days. Once its gone it sets itself to nlank again so I agree have to use per insructions. On a good note oh dtd again on my last fertile day. So fingers crossed. X

BobsyBoo · 11/11/2014 12:05

Metal good point maybe that's it, the test line was definitely the same as the control line and not darker.

loves Yeah not doing bad so far, but just hope OH doesn't let me down tonight.

Ginger it might be worth getting a cb digi just to show those 1-2 weeks if that makes you feel better. Thanks, yes I remember you saying and you still managed much more DTD than we ever do but it only takes that once they say. I'm going to test again tonight with the CB digi, I'm worried that I have missed it though or that it is today and tonight will be too late, if that's the case just hope that DTD on Sunday night will have done the trick. Yes I use different wee each time I test and follow the no drink or no loo visit for so long before rules.

Welcome Crispie It's just the ordinary CB OPK not with hormone indicator, I used it last month as well.

I'm also not sure about this new thermometer as my temp had dropped quite low this morning and FF doesn't think that is right but then again I probably wasn't reading correctly on my other thermometer. Also I did get out of bed and go to the loo first which I shouldn't have done but don't

Well back to a faint line on the cheap strip OPK Confused

LittlePoot · 11/11/2014 12:28

Morning all. Ginger - I definitely sympathise. And mister and Hazle too - I'm a nightmare with poas, and was throughout the start of (all three) pregnancy. It's horrible not having any symptoms and even then, not knowing what's going on until the 12 week scan. But the sticks don't really tell you anything about what's going on either, except that you definitely are pregnant. Fingers crossed for you all that those little soy beans grow smoothly into beautiful new babies all round.

HSG this morning - really not too bad. Much better than expected. Like an extended smear test but with a bit of extra discomfort from the dye. Not even cramps really, just uncomfortable low level pain and hard to pinpoint. Pain stopped when the test was over, although I'm a tiny bit uncomfortable still - sort of a very mild burning sensation inside iyswim. Good news is that tubes weren't blocked and no major blockage in the uterus. It is good in that blocked tubes is pretty disastrous, but then again I now don't have any new information so am no closer to my bfp.

Rang up after the scan to chase through my follow up appointment and my ultrasound. Had to call the ultrasound dept directly and they weirdly just had a cancellation and can fit me in this afternoon. What a day! DTD will be the last thing on my mind after all the 'action' my nether regions are seeing.....

HazleNutt · 11/11/2014 13:12

Good news Little!

lovemyboy247 · 11/11/2014 13:33

Littlepoot you really are having a full of it day. At leasy its all out the way in one go and hopefully you can relax and get dtd once its all recovered. Glad hsg went ok.

LittlePoot · 11/11/2014 13:50

What I'm most pleased about is that they gave me the results straight away. In fact, I watched the x ray on the screen as they did it, which was weird. I can't get a follow up appointment with the consultant until mid January but at least if I know the results of my scan/s then I'm not really waiting for anything else from her. Will see how I get on with dildo-cam this afternoon and let you know.

lovemyboy247 · 11/11/2014 15:08

Good luck. I had the dildo cam esrly in pregnancy with my son. Most peculiar as actually looks like dildo. Xx

LittlePoot · 11/11/2014 19:23

Well, that was also a joy. She did try using surface-cam, but couldn't get a clear view so dildocam it was. She was really helpful and talked me through everything as she looked - basically everything looked normal size and shape and she didn't see anything that looked worrying. One ovary is gearing up to ovulate (always a bonus) and womb lining looks normal. I feel like I should be more pleased that everything was ok. But I'm actually pretty flat and just feel like we're no further on. Consultant appointment isn't for another two months, but I know all she'll say is that there's nothing else she can say - either we keep trying or we decide to go for ivf. I have a flicker of hope that the HSG has done some magical clearing out job or whatever it is that leads to lots of people (anecdotally) getting pregnant after having one. But that's about it. Boo.

Am going to go back and read about the lovely BFPs again to cheer myself up!

GingerbreadHead · 11/11/2014 19:44

Little I felt just the same after my scan. Totally flat when I should have been pleased that it was all normal and clear. But it just makes you think, well what the hell is the problem then! All I can say is, keep trying, which I know is annoying and I thought after 17 cycles why is cycle 18 going to be any different, but it just shows there is no rhyme nor reason as to why any of this happens. It takes some people years, some people months for no apparent reason. How long have you been trying for again? Hopefully the HSG will work it's magic for you, did they say yay or nay to continuing dtd this month?

LittlePoot · 11/11/2014 20:01

Thanks for the pep talk. I know you're right. It just shouldn't be this hard!! I think we're on about cycle 15 or 16 now - and it only took 2 to get DS and the two m/c before him. Grrrr. They said to go on ahead with TTC after the HSG (although the technician said "but maybe go have a cup of tea first!" which did make me smile). So we will. I bought some of that PreSeed stuff, which I'm sure will make dtd even more 'fun' but if it helps DH's slightly wonky sperm reach their newly cleaned out tubes then it'll be worth the fuss. And cheaper than IVF... x

BobsyBoo · 11/11/2014 21:15

Little sorry you felt so flat after your scan but its a good thing there's nothing wrong, it's hard though that its taking so long. Are you going to take the Soy?

Well ladies I'm after some advice please, negative OPK on CB & on cheap strip one in fact the line has gone even fainter, so do you think ov has passed now? I'm thinking that be ause the strip OPK has gradually got fainter. My temp hasn't gone up this morning it had gone down & still getting EWCM but now worrying I've messed my cycle up. My boobs haven't started with their first niggle of soreness which usually happens on dpo1. I don't know what to think.

LittlePoot · 11/11/2014 21:49

I don't know anything about temping, but the line on the strips for me peaks then stays put one more day then disappears. I guess at ovulation one or two days after first seeing the peak. So I would guess you've had your peak and should persuade reluctant dh to have one more go tonight in case there's still time to catch that egg. x
