Hello,

Was just wondering whether anybody has had a similar experience?

When trying for first child got pregnant the first month, however that ended in MC. Luckily I got pregnant again with DD after first month of trying again.

DD is now three, we would have started TTC sooner but I went back I Uni and I'm due to finish in November.

We have been trying for 5 months and no luck, worried that I've left it too late as I'm now 37.

Had to just come on for a rant. Was in bed, but too cross to sleep! DH refused to dtd tonight, we managed cd15,16 and 17, which I know is good but it's so rare for us to manage 3 days on the trot I really wanted to get in one more shot either last night or today so we could have done SMEP properly. It's only cd20 today and I feel like cd17 was too early to stop. I am fed up of having sex as well and feeling like it's a chore but when you want a baby it's kind of a necessity. It's only because he went out and got bloody drunk on saturday so he was too hungover yesterday and is too tired today. It's not just the sex, he shows no interest or care in how I'm feeling, or how it's all affecting me. I'm just so bloody miserable all the time but I don't even get so much as a hug or a it will be ok. It's really having an impact on our relationship Sad I'm just having a really shitty day and hoped we could squeeze in one more go.
metal what a nightmare! can't believe how much these GPs mess us around. Hopefully you will get the results soon. I think it's a good idea booking yourself in for an appointment, I think at this point the money is worth the peace of mind, and it will be nice to get some answers and/or treatment in before christmas.
Bobsy sounds like we are both in pretty similar places at the moment with useless OHs and feeling down about it all. I think it's hitting me harder this week as it's DDs birthday on saturday and I remember having a panic when we first started ttc a second what if it hasn't happened by her 2nd birthday, now it's going to be her 3rd birthday and still no baby. That book sounds quite interesting though, maybe I will give it a try.
Trees moan away! That is pretty crappy results, but as Hazle says at least now you have an inkling of what the problem is and it should be easy to solve. Are you jumping on the soy band wagon? They say it's natures alternative to clomid so may help you ovulate.

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 04/11/2014 08:41

Oh yes trees I have an unopened bottle of soy tablets I could send you if you're interested Smile

Metalhead · 04/11/2014 09:46

trees sorry about your blood results, but I agree with ginger, if you ovulated later than usual (which seems likely if you're still waiting for AF) the test would have been done on the wrong day and therefore the result would be invalid. I would mention this to your GP and ask for a repeat test next cycle.

Oh ginger I'm sorry to hear your DH is being unsupportive, what is it with these men?! Try not to be too cross with him about not managing to dtd again last night though, if you did 3 days in a row you should be well covered. Personally I think SMEP is a bit much, and I don't really see the point of dtd again after ov if you're sure that the egg is gone.

My FF app thinks I ov'd on Friday for some reason, but I know that's wrong because I only got my +opk on Saturday. I think it's because my pre-ov temps have been a bit erratic this month because of all the wine that was consumed on holiday... Blush

HazleNutt · 04/11/2014 10:14

Mister I should only be about 12DPO, so it's very very early days. I hope this one sticks.

This month, I took soy and Dh took maca root.

lovesmycake · 04/11/2014 12:29

trees sorry to hear about your blood results but agree with everyone above about talking to your doctor about a possible retest.

ginger SMEP is hardcore well done on doing it as much as you did, not sure I would have the stamina for that!!

metal I think your right to book the appointment if someone said to me you could pay xxx amount of money and it would make you less stressed about TTC I would probably consider it a bargain!!

First day of my CBFM and I got a high reading as in high chance of getting pg only finished AF yesterday so either this is where I have been going wrong all along Confused or it takes a while for the monitor to adjust to my levels or its the soy? I don't really care feels good to be actively doing something at last!!

HazleNutt · 04/11/2014 12:34

loves not sure, but go and do the deed, just in case! Grin

lovesmycake · 04/11/2014 12:43

Oh don't worry that's the plan DH has been forewarned Grin

LittlePoot · 04/11/2014 14:30

Just a fleeting visit (stressy week at work -no chance of relaxing this month!) but wanted to say massive congrats to Hazle and add to the comments for Trees about crappy blood results -the 21 day thing is a bit of a red herring with long cycles. The progesterone levels should be tested 7 days before af rather than 21 days after the last af, so if you're having a long cycle they won't tell you anything about ovulation one way or another. Definitely push your doc further on that -seems like an over hasty conclusion to me. Although at least lack of ovulation can be treated with clomid. Hello to everyone else and will post properly soon!

Metalhead · 04/11/2014 14:57

DH's sperm test saga continues: so today the GP surgery has the results, but there's a note on it saying 'telephone consulation', meaning the receptionist won't give the results to DH, he has to wait until tomorrow for a phone call from the Dr! It's like banging your head against a brick wall!

Also now we're worried that there's something wrong with his sperm, otherwise why would the Dr need to call him? And on top of that I noticed this morning that my appointment with the specialist will be on CD4, so I emailed them this morning to ask if they can still do the 3d ultrasound if I'm still bleeding a bit, and they still haven't got back to me! Sometimes it just feel like the whole universe is against you, doesn't it?! Think I might need some Wine tonight...

BobsyBoo · 04/11/2014 15:23

Oh Ginger sorry you're having a rubbish time again, I know exactly how it all feels, I've even ended up going downstairs and sleeping on the sofa because I've been that annoyed. These men just don't seem to get it! My OH is exactly the same doesn't bother about how I'm feeling about it all and how it's affecting me, I too need a hug and a 'everything will be ok' but my OH just doesn't bother it's so hard isn't it. TTC is having a major impact on our relationship too. I know exactly what you mean about your DD's birthday, it hit me hard when it was my DD's birthday in September. I hope you all have a lovely day and it manages to take your mind off things (as much as it can). I think Metal is right though that you will be covered, and I too can't understand why you have to DTD again after ov. I did want to give SMEP a go but when it got to CD10 OH was too tired and surprise surprise he was too tired again on CD11 so I gave up and thought was in the point in trying to get him to DTD when it is not fertile time! I would recommend the book if you can get in to the Positive frame of mind whish isn't easy, as soon as AF is due I get in a really rubbish mood and can't seem to snap out of it and even when she arrives so I can't muster up a positive thought!

Trees Sorry about the blood results, and really rubbish your boss being pg with her third. Hope you get sorted at the docs.

Thanks Mister Well we've already got a trip to the Zoo booked and get to meet Santa and hoping to get to the travel agents and pick up some brochures.

Hello to everyone else.

HazleNutt · 04/11/2014 16:05

metal why on earth are they treating it like it's some kind of a national secret?
Hope you have good news, but if not, at least you know what's causing the issues, and they can do all kinds of stuff in case of sperm problems nowadays.

BobsyBoo · 04/11/2014 19:27

Oh Metal that is rubbish they are certainly making it hard work for you. I hope your DH's sperm results come back ok, it could just be that they have to speak to you no matter what the results are.

Treesandbees · 04/11/2014 19:52

Metal our Drs are the same. The Receptionists wont give anything away!! I hope that the results are all fine. DH has got to go for his soon and we are trying to work out how we can do the 'drop off' in the time specified!

Ginger I could have written your post!! Sounds just like my DH! They are just crap sometimes!! Vent away, that is why we are here! I hope you are feeling a bit better today and I think you have DTD lots!!

Loves I am really going to try some of your positive thinking. Had to have a little word with myself today at work as got really stressed about something out of my hands and then even more cross at myself for being stressed which is clearly not helping me to conceive! I just dont do 'go with the flow' at all.

Hazle how you feeling? Can you share your soy timetable as I want to copy you next month!!

So I am feeling a bit more calm about the whole lack of ovulation. I explained about my weird cycle to the Dr at the time and she was happy to repeat the bloods just in case but as I thought I was ovulating on CD21/22 (based on CM/cramps) she said my progesterone should have been high anyway and it literally cant get any lower! I walked away thinking why can you you put me on Clomid now but I guess they need to do a scan first? Definitely going to give the soy a go (when I get my damn AF...no sign whatsover of her coming).

HazleNutt · 04/11/2014 19:59

I'm feeling fine, trying to stop myself from peeing on sticks every 5 minutes, to see if the line is getting darker or not.

I took soy on days 3-7, 35mg pills, so started on 3 pills (105mg), then 4 and 5 on last day (175).

lovesmycake · 05/11/2014 07:57

Oh metal I really hope you get some good results today sorry they are making you wait though, waiting sucks!

trees the whole don't be stressed 'stress' was really difficult for me last month and I was also waiting for AF think I was 10 days late in the end and that was just adding to my stress! Definitely try soy while waiting (bloody waiting) for the doc to get back to you.

Ooh hazle I'm doing the same soy day's you did, fingers crossed thats a good sign :)

HazleNutt · 05/11/2014 08:59

Would someone take the pee sticks away from me? I keep testing to check if the line is getting darker, and then stressing that it's not getting darker fast enough. Why, why do I do this to myself? If it's not working out, there's nothing really they can do at this stage, is it. I'm not good at relaxing though.

This is a decent line for 13 dpo, right?

Anyone got pregnant with no.1 very quickly bit struggling with no.2?
lovesmycake · 05/11/2014 09:08

It's a definite line you are definitely knocked up Grin, and it's still early days only 13 dpo.

I understand the worry, this whole process is so very hard but one chemical pregnancy in no way means you will have another, and the sticks are not exactly scientifically calibrated so there will be inconsistencies.

What can you do today to distract yourself? I'm only pretending to work today (lack of sleep due to DS hacking cough) so feel free to chat away on here if it helps.

HazleNutt · 05/11/2014 09:22

I have tons of work, and also worrying about DS, who has some funny rash around the eye. Looks like he scratched himself and that got infected - DH is taking him to GP just in case. We had something similar once before, and antibiotics cleared it right up, so hopefully nothing too serious. I still worry though.

That's what people really should have warned me about before I had DS - the worry! After he was born, I have not been able to relax. Second one should not double this, right? Right?

lovesmycake · 05/11/2014 09:39

I know, I never understood when my dad said you never stop worrying but it's true one of the side effects of having the adorable little monkeys in our lives I guess! but I don't think there can't be double the worry maybe you just swap to worrying about 'the kids' instead of DS?

Do you have names picked out for a second one? I do though I would still need to convince DH a bit I think!!

Hope your DS feels better soon

Treesandbees · 05/11/2014 09:41

Hazle that is a good line to me! I didnt get a line like that with DS until about 16/17 dpo (just squinters before). I am the same...I worry about everything!! I read an interview that Jerry Hall did and she said you relax as you get older. I bloody well hope so! Hope DS's eye is ok!

I am off work today, trying a new working pattern. Switched from Mon, Tues, Wed to Mon, Tues, Thus. Not really sure it will work as now I feel like I am on my 'weekend' but got to go back to work tomorrow Hmm!

alien11 · 05/11/2014 11:25

Agree with everyone about the constant worrying! Part and parcel of being a parent .my DD is at pre school and I'm having a cuppa and watching Matilda film haha with no child...
Off to collect her in 10 mins. Have to do food shop this afternoon cd26 today...no symptoms except I seem to be going to bed at 830 as so tired.

HazleNutt · 05/11/2014 11:40

loves we do have names. Tristan for boy and probably Eleanor for girl, although I really like Estelle, but DH not convinced.

Metalhead · 05/11/2014 11:43

Tiredness sounds quite promising alien! (Though it could just be the cold and dark weather coming in...) When is AF due?

Hazle step away from the pee sticks!! Especially with the ICs, one strip's line can be lighter or darker than the next without it meaning anything. On the other hand when I had my mmc I still tested positive for about two weeks later (and probably about a whole month after my bean had died) so it really is pointless to keep testing. (But you probably already know that.)

HazleNutt · 05/11/2014 11:52

I know you're right Metal, but it's hard, isn't it! I also know that many women on MN have complained that their CB Digital does not go up in weeks, and have been fine - but mine didn't go up with the chemical, but went with DS, so I probably can't help testing again next week..

Sigh, all the information and stories on internet are not so helpful. Our grandmothers probably only figured out they are pregnant when they were good few months along, never squinted at pee sticks, never worried about chemical pregnancies and all he bad news you could have at a scan..

I'll wait 2 more weeks and call my doc here - they do an 8-week viability scan for everybody over here.

alien11 · 05/11/2014 12:38

28 days this Friday 35( last cycle) next Friday!
Probably is the weather!
Love the names Hazel that's nice they do a viability scan over there ( where r u?))
