The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

ha I love that link!!!

Currently deciding whether to go to a friends house for a mini festival or stay in with DH, order pizza and drink wine.

I think I want to stay in but I know they will be disappointed. Ho hum.

broody sounds a good symptom!

broodylicious · 12/07/2014 14:59

I feel much better now I've punched Gove a few times Wink that's awesome, I'm going to share it on Facebook!

It is possible I could be more than 8dpo yes. Think I'm just going to have to wait this out and step away from any sticks I could pee on. Chuff knows what my body is up to these days!

Metalhead · 12/07/2014 15:34

Hi ladies, sounds like a few of us are having weird cycles this month - count me in on that!

I was expecting to get a +opk sometime this weekend and yesterday had one where the line was nearly as dark as the control line. No ewcm or ov pains though, so I thought today I'd get a proper positive, which for me is usually much darker than the control line. However, today I've got ewcm, ov pains and the opk didn't have a line at all! So now I don't know whether yesterday was my positive for this month, or whether I'm having a longer cycle again and am yet to ovulate. Guess I'll just have to keep on testing and dtd eod until AF arrives...

sebsmummy1 · 12/07/2014 16:49

How weird Metal. I have bought some strip opks from Wilko so will keep testing. I have had watery CM this cycle, tiniest bit of EWCM whereas normally I get a lot. There again for me lots of EWCM rarely ends in a pregnancy so maybe this weird cycle is a good sign.

Every time something screws up I just assume Perimenopause, which is fucking depressing.

Metalhead · 12/07/2014 18:38

I hope it's not that for you sebs!

Hopefully whatever my body is doing this month won't be a repeat of last year's WTF cycle, where I thought I'd ov'd but hadn't and ended up with an 82-day cycle...

sebsmummy1 · 12/07/2014 19:28

Let's just hope not for the both of us.

I went into Wilkos to get some ov strips and there was a menopause test there. I nearly bought it but I read the instructions and you have to take the test the first week of your period - it measures you FSH levels. Then I thought what if I buy it and it's positive. That's just going to make me feel suicidal so thankfully I left it on the shelf.

So I did my opk strip tonight and the line is strong but not as strong as the control. So either the monitor was right and my surge was yesterday evening, or the line will be stronger tomorrow. I suspect the monitor will be correct unfortunately Sad

Marmaladecat1 · 12/07/2014 20:44

Hi all, well I survived. My lovely parents fed me lots and kept me topped up on shandy!
Sorry it sounds not a great day here.
The wtf cycle has a lot to answer for! boozle please advise evolution to be rid of it? Also that game cracked me up,

treacle I moan here a lot! Please don't feel bad!

broody oh my word this morning the pain on my right side was hideous! I also have had the shooting internal up your bits pain at random intervals recently.

I am still no closer to working out what is going on with me :(

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 20:45

I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot. I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot. I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot. I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot.

If I write it enough it may be true! Slap me with a Salmon please!

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 20:50

I will of course have a word with evolution about the WTF cycle. How do we feel about some form of switch which makes our OH's have to dtd when our pee is the colour of ovulation? Otherwise they can't walk properly?

Marmaladecat1 · 12/07/2014 22:33

That is brilliant. I wholly with that OH and not walking etc!

Oh boozle symptom spotting is just hideous. I would give you a salmon except you will need to give it straight back to me because I am symptom spotting too!

DulcetMoans · 12/07/2014 23:46

Oooooohhhh what symptoms do we have and when will we know either way??

Boozle80 · 13/07/2014 00:05

Cramps and feeling a bit sick - 7dpo and sore boobs. I may have just picked up the sickness bug from school though!

Boozle80 · 13/07/2014 00:06

And have bad wind which has manifested itself into cramps instead of breaking free...

Treaclepie19 · 13/07/2014 01:45

I am drunk.
Just thought I'd put that out there.
Might stop trying over the holidays as we have so much going on.

Allthefours · 13/07/2014 08:04

just and all othe teachers/school staff, you can ask for your continuous service to be honoured to ensure that your benefits to mat pay etc are stil fulfilled when moving from LA schools to academies. I'm currently an office manager in a special school which is an LA school, prior to that I have 9 years working in LA school and 2 academies. Each time I've moved I have asked my continuous service be applied or it was a deal breaker and wouldn't accept the job. I started my current job in May this year, I found out I was pg 3 weeks after starting my job, but because they honoured my continuous service I would have been entitled to all the mat pay benefits! Worth considering of you do decide to move jobs.

Justonemoretime · 13/07/2014 08:30

Thanks, Allthefours, I did have exactly that conversation at interview as I was ttc at the time, and they did agree to it verbally. I found out that I was pg a few days later. Then, when I 'fessed up a month or so later (in order to make sure everything would be in place for September - we'd had a dating scan at just over 9 weeks and doctors were confident that this was a 'keeper') it turned out that it was only redundancy and pension that would be covered in the continuity of service agreement, not sick or maternity pay. I could have got some that I would have accrued from me previous job, and the LA would tide me over with statutory payments, but the 12 weeks at half pay would have been lost. The lawyers were called in as it was apparently the first time that a pregnant employee had moved between academies.

I was told by the NUT that I risked being sued for breach of contract if I didn't go ahead with the move (I have since gone over to ATL), but the new school were supportive (although their hands were tied, legally speaking). My old job offered to keep me on if I sacrificed my tlr, so it basically boiled down to losing the same amount of money. Lesson learned, never hand in your notice until the deadline (I did because I knew they wanted to sort out planning for next year), because it gives everyone the green light to screw you. I was literally screwed in every way, and it was very stressful.

Moral? You can't be too careful with what's carried over and what's not unless you are specific (and, let's face it, who would tell a new employer they are ttc?) and you get it in writing. With academies, I'm afraid it's all a little pre-feminist nowadays (almost as if no-one really thought it through....)

Sorry for the rant :)

Marmaladecat1 · 13/07/2014 09:03

Morning all.
boozle I had that wind cramp thing last night!
Don't feel sick really. I'm going with this being a good sign for me.
I don't have my normal migraine before AF though.
Will POAS and report come sobbing back.
I'm due on today

Daisybell1 · 13/07/2014 09:12

Oh crumbs, I've dropped off this thread Sad. I'll try to catch up!

Marmaladecat1 · 13/07/2014 09:15

Bfn! Not even a hint of a line.
I blame the test. It's not my favourite cheapie test it's the really thin ones. I prefer the thicker ones.

Boozle80 · 13/07/2014 09:40

Nope, definitely a lurgy...

Sal1977 · 13/07/2014 09:51

Morning ladybugs!

12dpo here and I just randomly peed on an OV stick (not sure why) and there's a fairly strong line on it? WTF? Can you have OV hormones this late in your cycle???

OP posts:
Marmaladecat1 · 13/07/2014 10:14

Oh no boozle you ok?

sal that is odd. Hoping someone else will know!

sebsmummy1 · 13/07/2014 11:41

Sal you can use opks as hpts. Only problem is that you get an lh surge before AF too (I have no idea why) so they are also pretty crap at being used as an hpt too. If the test line is a blazing positive then I think you could be pregnant, if it is a strong line but not stronger than the control line I think it's 50/50. Go piss on an HPT woman!! Grin

DulcetMoans · 13/07/2014 12:18

Yeah, sal, if you are due AF and getting a positive OPK then you need to do a HPT! Are you sure you are 12dpo?

You ok boozle, feeling rough?

Sorry about BFN marmalade, try again in the week?

Boozle80 · 13/07/2014 13:26

I feel like the back end of a bus! Really hope this doesn't do something bizarre to my chances of implanting. Bum cheese! How's everyone else's weekends going?
