The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

To be honest Rain there is not much that you can ask. I would definitely see if they think that it was just coincidence that your bfp came after the HyCoSy. As long as you have had all of the standard bloods etc? done then it really cakes down to the treatment options and the pros and cons for those. That was really what our appointment came down to and I am an unexplained berry too. It is always worth asking at the end of the consultation if there is any questions that they would have expected you to ask that you haven't, I know that my mind went blank at the in initial appt and so went armed with paper and pen then next time. I will have a think back to what we asked and post back.

Glad that you are feeling ok Gill pesky polyp though. I hope that you can get back on your journey soon.

nolly3 · 25/06/2014 22:27

good question rain. i read this a few months ago

www.wmagazine.com/beauty/2008/03/infertility

which gave me some interesting thoughts. mainly stressful ones to be fair. but i think.if/when we go private for more tests, given that nothing has so far been found, I'll ask for more checks of tubal defects.

happylass · 25/06/2014 23:08

Rain I think if I were you I'd be pushing the FC on what happens next. Although we do have the issue of DPs potentially clumpy sperm (still not 100 %sure on what's going on there!) we were told that we'd be referred for IVF even if all the tests had come back normal. From what I've seen the NHS will test for x, y and z and if nothing shows up then it's on to IUI/IVF. They don't really seem interested in pursuing other lines of enquiry. Are you open to the idea of moving on to IUI/IVF?

FeatherFeather11 · 25/06/2014 23:09

nolly have you had a hsg? It's when
They run some dye through your cervix and watch it run through your tubes to see if they're blocked or not. I've had it twice - once a year before my ectopic as part of standard FC investigations (all all seemed clear) and once a few months after the ectopic happened to see what the deal was (once again, my left and only remaining tube was clear. They claimed I would 'be more fertile' for a few months after the hsg as it's a bit of a 'pipe cleaning'. might be worth asking to have one? It's uncomfortable, but not unbearable, and you get your results immediately as it's up on a big screen right in front of you.

The Berries have been spammed! How dare they!

happylass · 25/06/2014 23:27

Cheek!! wonders what was said

nolly3 · 25/06/2014 23:31

yeah i have feather and of course got hopes up that it would do the trick as they kept banging on about it. increased fertility post hsg is all anecdotal as far as i can tell.

who's had a lap? did you get diff resulys from hsg/scan? do you think its worth asking for one of those?

beakybeak · 25/06/2014 23:40

HB yep I think I'd be throwing everything in there if if was potentially last attempt, don't worry about jumping the hun I suppose if it were me I'd take the anything and everything to help approach. Fx for you.

Gill great news about your springy palace and your scratch. Frustrating that you had to wait all this time bough. Do you know was it something you did that got rid of it? Do polyps respond to oestrogen then? Fx for a successful and swift FET for you.

Barking been thinking of you from far shores. Hope the counselling went as well as possible.

Rain I'm unexplained too, they don't seem to offer other ideas for you to try so I I think it's difficult to know what to ask. have you seen all your blood test results and progesterone? Sorry I can't remember. I think I'd be asking if there was any other tests to be done. Would they be referring you for IVF now do you think? I totally agree with wot Happy said though and if you read the sense about science Q&A it is clear from that they will only test for things that are 100% proven and that are cost effective.

Nolly what tests have you had done so far again?

The wifi here is shit but I will be checking in as much as possible as you lot keep me sane (p.s. AF here in full flow for 1st day of holidays Sad)

tigerdog · 25/06/2014 23:47

NollyI had a lap due to very heavy and painful periods. Only really worth having if you suspect endo as far as I am aware although I think they get a really good look inside too. Also hoping for increased fertility post lap due to the jet effect. Hmm

rain it might be worth asking for a lap if you also suffer from heavy periods or any pelvic pain efc? Have you gone through your results in detail previously? Make sure they tell you if there is any slight issue. Has your thyroid been checked and what is the exact result? Being unexplained is a strange position to be in (me too) because there's always hope but at the same time, nothing seems to be happening!!

Any autoimmune disorders in the family? I have Coeliacs in my family so I asked to be checked for that too.

Glad to hear the op went well gil.

Night all!

BlindKitty · 26/06/2014 04:09

barking my friend, who you met is in same situation as you. She managed to convince the fc to do a load if extra tests, except the genetic one, which costs loads. All came back ok despite 5 years ttc and 2mmcs. Guess the other explanation is that she had just been incredibly unlucky with her 2 pregnancies, and perhaps the same could be same for you, although I know it's hard to think like that. Fingers crosses for your next iui, when you're feeling strong enough.

funkymonk · 26/06/2014 06:40

Berries I need your help. I'm sorry I didn't come on mumsnet yesterday so apologies for skipping any news. I did a digital test this morning and it says not pregnant. I haven't had any bleeding as been taking progesterone.

funkymonk · 26/06/2014 06:45

What does this mean? Chemical?

winohhh · 26/06/2014 06:48

Oh funky, how scary. How far along do you think you are? What did you do your first test with? Is if possible the first test was super sensitive and this one isn't? Could you try a super sensitive one again? Maybe it's too early for a digi. I think they are notoriously unreliable. Hand holding.

funkymonk · 26/06/2014 06:54

Thanks win. I used clear blue digital on Sunday preceded by sainsburys test that showed a faint line. I think it must be chemical. I've taken progesterone this morning just incase. Going to ring clinic now and leave message for when they arrive.

Dh is away in Leeds all week and his grandmother does yesterday. Should I call him or leave it?

winohhh · 26/06/2014 07:04

Yes, I'd call him. You shouldn't have to sit with all this on your own. And good idea to call clinic too. I really hope this isn't a chemical. How fucking cruel. Xx

funkymonk · 26/06/2014 07:11

*died that should have been

I called him. He isn't coming back though. I didn't expect him to really. Will wait clinic to call. If they say wait until next week for a scan I think I'll go insane.

winohhh · 26/06/2014 07:18

If they do say to wait, could you afford a private scan? I really hope they don't make you wait. Sorry about DHs grandmother too. What a shit time. X

funkymonk · 26/06/2014 07:31

Yes I'll try and go privately I think.

From ov dates I'm only 4+5.

I'm so fucked off. I've waited for 3 months for an appt with the miscarriage clinic in London and I cancelled just last week it as the nhs had a decent plan in place for next pregnancy/ or having ivf. Why oh why did I do that.

funkymonk · 26/06/2014 07:31

God. Typo's

happylass · 26/06/2014 07:33

Funky no advice I'm afraid but a hand to hold Thanks. So sorry you're having such a stressful time and my condolences on your loss x

winohhh · 26/06/2014 07:48

When you know what's happening, it might be worth giving the miscarriage clinic a call to see if they can fit you in earlier? They may be understanding in the circumstances. Hope you get to talk to the other clinic soon.

tigerdog · 26/06/2014 08:24

funky sorry you are having to go through all of this uncertainty. Not really sure what it means but false negatives are a possibility I guess at this early stage, as is a chemical. Big hugs and a hand hold x

HampshireBlues · 26/06/2014 08:34

Funky am also here to handhold - sorry about DHs grandmother and that he is not able to be there to support you Thanks

OttersPocket · 26/06/2014 08:46

Hi Berries,
