The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Gillster · 25/06/2014 07:34

Nooooooooo Kuma. Even though you were half expecting it, it would still be a massive let down. Hope you're taking it easy and looking after one another. Sending big hugs your way. So sorry it hasn't worked this time for you both. X

barkingtreefrog · 25/06/2014 07:47

Kuma this stinks Sad I'm so sorry, was hoping this was your time Thanks. Will your natural cycle be in September by any chance? Be part of the Big Berry Bust Out? [happy]

beaky/kitty The Wire is AMAZING! And each season has a different focus so keeps you gripped and doesn't get boring.

hp I've been obsessing over the immune stuff. A brief chat with the nurse after the scan confirmed that the NHS are very unlikely to do any investigations after 'only' two mc, but we can't get pg naturally and I don't want to waste any of our remaining chances. Mentally, I don't know if I can put myself through another IUI/IVF if in the back of my head I think we might be doomed anyway and all our chances will be gone. My clinic mention recurrent miscarriage investigations on their website, and immune issues, and the private clinic in my area mentions reproductive immunology, so I'm going to give them a call today and see if it's possible to just go in for the tests if you're not having treatment there, and whether we'd have to pay for a consultation etc as well just to get the tests and results. I shall let you know what I find out...

Bleeding heavier again this morning, woke up early with cramps. Sports day yesterday was full of bumps and babies with the mums watching. Neighbour seemed to be flaunting her baby in my face, she walked past the window with baby in carrier about 6 times in the space of an hour. Wanted to open the door and tell her to f off. Angry Envy Not in a happy place, hence not posting yesterday, but don't seem to have managed to pull myself together much this morning. And now I'm late starting work.... Sorry to not catch up with everyone, I was supposed to start working at 7 (from home today) as I've got my appointment with the counsellor this morning and need to make the hours up. My second job has been very lovely about it (unlike my head at school) but I get paid per hour and have lost about £500 already this month due to the mc (extra days at school that I couldn't do when taken off the residential) so need to get the hours in.

So sorry again Kuma, was so hoping I would check in and see your good news this morning.

So sorry kuma. Be kind to yourselves today xx

nolly3 · 25/06/2014 08:08

so sorry kuma. hope you've got things to do to distract yourself?

winohhh · 25/06/2014 08:13

So sorry kuma. It's so shit. Hope you can take it easy today.

Barking, hope your appointment with the counsellor is helpful today.

sparechange · 25/06/2014 08:25

Kuma, so sorry for you. Hope the holiday countdown helps...

barking, I think there are only a couple of clinics that offer the testing, and you have to pay for it privately.
You might be able to find a sympathetic consultant who will prescribe you the steroids anyway through. My friend had this after two failed transfers. They said not to bother with the test and just give her the medication that she would get in the event of a positive result. But they are quite tough steroids so it might not be that easy to talk them around.
I can get the name of the drug if it helps? Begins with a 'p'..!

RosieintheAlps · 25/06/2014 08:28

Really sorry to read your news kuma. Be kind to yourself. Thanks

Barking, hope it all goes well with the counsellor. Sorry to read your boss is rubbish. Only three (?) more weeks to go for you.

Good luck today, Gil.

CatsCantFlyFast · 25/06/2014 08:37

Really sorry Kuma. Flowers and wine and hugs x

winohhh · 25/06/2014 09:53

Gill, is it your op today? Good luck if so!

HampshireBlues · 25/06/2014 10:52

Sparechange the drug is likely to be Prednisolone which is a steriod and is used for treatment of all kinds of autoimmune issues (including for sever flares of asthma etc.).

I feel like I am jumping the gun with considering these sorts of tests, as this cycle of IVF is the first time in 3 years that i have actually been pg but we may only have enough money for one more cycle so DH and I feel that we owe it to ourselves to give this the best opportunity.

RevoltingPeasant · 25/06/2014 14:15

Flowers Kuma

Barking sorry to hear you are feeling low. Can you and DH plan something nice for this weekend, just something gentle, to give you something else to focus on?

WildflowerMarmalade · 25/06/2014 14:30

Kuma so very sorry to hear your news. Sending you berry love and strength.

Gillster · 25/06/2014 17:20

Op all done. Pretty efficient and only took about 15 mins. They couldn't find a polyp (typical) as apparently then can come and go. Everything looked fine and dandy (excellent springy palace of the child). She also did an endometrial scratch which was quite uncomfortable but is apparently good for 3 months.

Just need to book my slot in with the FC now. Wish me luck!

happylass · 25/06/2014 17:43

Glad all is well Gil and hope those pesky polyps don't give you any more bother. Fx for getting booked in quickly at the FC.

lumen · 25/06/2014 17:46

Sounds like good news gill, bring on your FET Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 25/06/2014 17:47

Good news gill. Any idea when you'll be booked in? How long does it take to defrost embies?

FeatherFeather11 · 25/06/2014 18:17

Great news gill! Here's to your springy palace! Wine

Gillster · 25/06/2014 18:20

Not entirely sure about when I can book in. I need to down regulate for the last week of my cycle which theoretically could still happen as pretty sure I haven't OV'd yet which should be this weekend on previous experience. The doctor said they like you to ring on the first day of your period but I'd have to wait another month before down'regging if that was the case. Hopefully I can convince them to take me on this cycle as I always get AF 14 days after a clearblue smiley face so can accurately predict when I should start the down regging drugs. I then take another drug once AF arrives to help thicken the endometrial lining. They then stick the embies back around day 14. From what I can remember Merk the frosties defrost then divide (hopefully) overnight, then they get transferred so effectively a day 2 transfer. I think they like to get them back into me ASAP as no guarantees on how well they'll do in the lab. They will defrost 4 of the 6. If they fail to thaw and divide then they can get the other 2 out if the freezer on the same cycle given there's only a day or so between getting them out if the freezer and back into me. The only draw back with FET is that there is less visibility over quality although given everyone's experiences here, I don't think a successful outcome is any more likely with a day 5 vs a day 3 transfer.

Gillster · 25/06/2014 18:25

If all 4 embies divide well then 2 will have to be discarded as they won't tolerate a second freeze/thaw process Sad. I'm jumping the gun a bit, but if this does happen it will feel like we've lost a couple of the "kids". I guess this is probably the best situation to be in though.

nolly3 · 25/06/2014 19:00

great news gill. when do you find out which cycle it'll be?

TheRainDrops · 25/06/2014 22:13

Unexplained Berries (and everyone else too really!), I need to pick your brains on things to quiz our FC on at my appointment next week.
Are there any things you've demanded/been offered testing wise that I should be sure to mention?
My main line of questioning is around the apparent 'coincidence' of my one and only BFP coming shortly after have my tubes jet washed at the HyCoSy (despite the result of that being yet another 'normal'). All my bloods and MrP's SA tests have been totally normal, my cycle is normal.
What things would you be querying if you were in my shoes?

gil great news r.e. op although blast that pesky polyp. Hope you manage to get going this cycle!
