The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

feather You're not moaning at all! It's completely natural that you're nervous after everything you've been through. Plus it's good to get what you're feeling out in the open rather than bottling it all up. Even if you have lots of support IRL I think it's good to be able to talk about it with others who are going through the same thing.

Thanks for answering about the acupuncture. She gave me some concoction to take when I was stimming which I took once and never again as I got scared! She does specialise in infertility though so I guess she knows what she's doing.

beaky initially we were intent on putting back 1. We both love the idea of twins but the thought of having complications or a pre-term birth puts me off. I need to speak to the dr to see how they have been frozen, I guess in twos. If so and we were lucky enough to have 2 survive then I think we would put both back. Let's cross that bridge if we come to it!

Bunnygirlie · 01/06/2014 16:31

feather I hate it when people ask that sort of question, most people would want to wait till at least 12 weeks before telling people so why would they even ask!
My sister asked me just before my 6 weeks scan and I really snapped at her, saying it's the worst question to ask someone you know is struggling.

Cluster differs, believe me, we all had plenty of twinges etc as things started to stretch, it is worrying, just take one day at a time x

So how many BFPs is that lately? Is it 4 or 5? So exciting!

FeatherFeather11 · 01/06/2014 17:03

bunny and bushy but do you get twinges on a specific side? Mines been more on the left, weirdly up high near my waist. Oh, god...think I just need to focus on the wedding on Saturday and go from there. Day at a time and all that.

RevoltingPeasant · 01/06/2014 17:14

Barking!!!! That is mental Grin good for you, the best news ever!!

Chloe how are you this evening? Has the abdo pain subsided at all?

Feather eeek, yes, busted!

I was away for the weekend at DMIL 60th birthday weekend, so that was a funny old line of trying to be normal but also making sure I didn't eat or drink anything I shouldn't. Lunch today was a buffet which included Brie, Stilton, cured meats, rollmops and smoked fish Confused I mostly had bread and salad!

The PIL totally guessed, but they are lovely so didn't say anything. DMIL just made sure we had a different cheese knife for the hard cheeses I could eat, and DFIL brought me the ingredients list on something so I could look. DH aunt is a little less tactful though and offered me booze at literally every single meal, meeting polite refusal with "you're not drinking again today? What, not at all?!"

So far, xing everything, beyond some twinges in the general uterine area and some mild backache, no issues at all. Will be 5 weeks tomorrow by my reckoning so still super early.

This is so gross, but I keep sticking my fingers into my gusset to check there is no bleeding. I wash afterwards! DH calls it "sticking my fingers into my wazinga" and has started referring to me as WazingaFingers Confused

beakybeak · 01/06/2014 17:43

Haha Wazingafingers glad to hear everything is going well so far. It's lovely that your il's are being so discrete I bet they are dying to be able to ask you! So sweet.

Feather moan away anytime (also it's not moaning!) I get twinges too and am not updiffed so id say try and not worry Grin - easier said that done I know and yep Bunny put it much better than me re the discussion on people asking if you are! And wow your wedding has flown here! Will you let us see a pic of you in your dress afterwards somehow? Exciting!

Chloe re two v one, it is very tricky but you definitely seem I have thought it through carefully. My friend had two put back but only one took, she was quite upset wondering what happened to the other one. Knowing what to do is all a total guess really isn't it.

Hope all you teacher berries are not too depressed at the end of half term.

Batking how are you feeling? Am still so over the moon for you Grin

beakybeak · 01/06/2014 17:44

Sorry for all of the typos!

HampshireBlues · 01/06/2014 18:10

We had a call from the FC yesterday and the Consultant has put on an extra clinic, so we have an appointment for tomorrow morning. Are there any questions that we should be asking? Obviously all I want to know is why and I'm guessing that he is not going to be able to answer that one so no sure what we should be looking to get out of it. Thank you for all your thoughts and comments - I think that I may give the counselling a go; I'm hoping that it'll help get in me in the right frame of mind to consider another cycle and not to be scared of it. I'm also hoping that it'll help me to face the next couple of weekends and the baby showers that they herald.

But you Berries do keep me smiling, all the talk about Wazingafingers keeps the smile there. Thank you.

RosieintheAlps · 01/06/2014 18:19

Ah Wazingafingers, what a great name. Good to hear you have such considerate PILs.

Feather, you're not moaning, you're just concerned which is completely normal. This has been such a difficult journey so far, it is understandable that it is hard to relax. Sending you berry power that you'll be able to be kind to yourself and that all will go well.

Chloe, 3 FETs sounds great. Keeping fingers crossed it will all work out well. Re one vs two, I would ask for two but then I am greedy and my sister's experience was that even though they put 3 (!) back, only one took (on the third attempt) and this is now my teenage niece.

tiger, I tried the roast tomato tart from the latest HH book. DP felt it was too healthy, i.e. he's happy for me to eat it but would prefer something else next time. I do think I did get the crust-filling ratio of the tart wrong. Tried the raspberry cake which was nice if not very sweet and the spinach/ carrot muffins are in the oven. Think that's me done with experimenting for a while.

Funky, managed to try out the pre-seed Wink. I prefer the application method with the Boots healthy balance ones but they are more expensive. Ahem, can I ask, whether anyone has experienced that this is helping with all sorts of 'results'? Or am I weird? DP was asking too...

Bushy, good luck at the scan tomorrow.

Acupuncture seems to be recommended by most of you. Would you suggest this even if our issues are sperm rather than egg/ womb related? I feel like I cannot do anything at the moment and it is slowly but surely driving me crazy (hence cooking/ baking marathon).

Sorry about long rambling post.

RosieintheAlps · 01/06/2014 18:34

Great news about quick appointment for you HB.

barkingtreefrog · 01/06/2014 18:40

Not done even a quarter of the reports Angry but need to stop for curry and packing bags for the residential now so giving up.

rosie I'm not sure what you're asking?! I've been using preseed for a couple of years now, I use it as a lubricant when it's shag week and we can't be arsed with a full on session Blush and when I know Ov is imminent I use the applicator. If it helped get my current possible result it would mean the shag 3 days before transfer was the winner, not the sperm they cleaned and selected from the jizz pot! I was using preseed before my bfp last year as well.

hb I think my main question would be - is there anything you plan to do differently? I keep hearing about first cycles being about learning how you will react. If this IUI doesn't work for us I'll be asking whether they will up the drugs next time.

rp you have very sweet PiL!

beaky it doesn't feel remotely real, still expecting bad news tomorrow. So desperately hoping not though.

chloe my acupuncturist insisted that needles alone were not strong enough to sort out my messed up cycles. I tried the herbal brews but had a nightmare with them (kept boiling them dry, wretching while trying to drink the vile stuff), so she compromised with the tablets.

pip I asked my consultant and he said to take pregnacare. It's very mixed signals.

boom hello!! Good to see you!! I'm really, really hoping that this cluster diff doesn't leave me behind like the last one did!

Argh, being shouted to go and add my curry order so need to sign off before I'd finished replying to everyone!!

Aren't we up to 5 hovering now in the last couple of weeks - counting bushy, win, rp, feather and now potentially me if mine sticks until tomorrow?

FeatherFeather11 · 01/06/2014 19:00

barking wasn't it you saying to me just a few days ago "a line is a line is a line" - you definitely had a line on that FR this morning Grin

hb great news re appointment. Agree with Batking re asking what they'd do differently next time and whether there was anything you could do differently - acupuncture, juicing, walnuts etcetera. Know it sounds mad as they're not into much woo/health, but worth a go. Hope you're as ok as can be. Flowers

rp naww, your pils sound lovely. Gonna call you wazingafingers from now on! Grin

rosie can you clarify as I don't understand! I used the applicator and not too much of the stuff. Just a, umm, squirt on high Blush. Not sure re acupuncture for sperm, but don't see why not! Would you both consider going? Maybe for an initial chat and then see? I want spinach and carrot muffins! Wahhhh!! Take a pic and post please!

beaky posting a pic of myself innit dress here would be too public, no?

chloechloe · 01/06/2014 19:47

rp Sounds like you have lovely thoughtful in-laws. I wish mine were like that, I've lost count of the number of thoughtless comments from MIL. Loving the wazingerfingers! I'm slowly feeling better, thanks for asking. The abdomen pain is getting better andnthenswelling ahs gone down a bit, although I get quite dizzy when I stand up. Am so glad I have tomorrow off work.

hb I hope that you get some answers at the appointment tomorrow and that they have a plan for what to change next time round. Will be thinking of you.

barking I think I might give the herbs a go but only after lots of obsessive googling owing to my OCD control freak nature

rosie I think there is some benefit in doing acupuncture if only for the relaxation benefits. Maybe go for one treatment and see how you get on?

RevoltingPeasant · 01/06/2014 19:49

HB don't know any questions to ask but good luck! Expecting full report. Wink

Batking a line is a line is a line! I would be astonished if there was any bad news, and I am so so pleased for you. But if anything isn't right you know we will all be here for a big venting session Flowers

funkymonk · 01/06/2014 19:50

Alright wazingafingers!

Barking, so pleased for you I really am.

Peed off that it's Sunday already. Grrr.

Rosie, do your mean results as in the pleasure factor?

tigerdog · 01/06/2014 19:52

Surely rosie's question is to do with increased pleasure for the ladies when using preseed?! unless that's just me reading it all wrong I have to say that it does add to the experience for me if that's what you are asking!

rp you are effing hilarious! Wazinga is not a term I'm familiar with Blush

Trying to read back and catch up on today's chatter....

beakybeak · 01/06/2014 20:04

HB great news re earlier appointment, I think the same as others, what can you do differently next time, if anything and why as you've said but that is possibly unanswerable. Fx it gives you some positivity and a plan to move forward. Maybe try acu if you don't already do it?

Rosie do you mean enjoyment results? I have found it can help with this Dh has mentioned it too. If that's not what you mean then I've embarrassed myself for no reason! Blush Anyway the tomato tart sounds lovely!

Feather sorry I was meaning without putting it on the thread for all to see but I guess there isn't a way! I don't want you to out yourself or anything!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

beakybeak · 01/06/2014 20:06

Sorry x post with loads! Chloe glad you are feeling a bit better anyway!

RosieintheAlps · 01/06/2014 20:53

I did mean the pleasure results, tiger and funky. Thanks for the reassurance. You didn't embarass yourself, beaky. It's working for me, too. Think DP is rather surprised...

I would consider acu, simply so I feel I am doing something to help things along and as you said, chloe, relaxation would be good. DP is against anything not scientifically proven. Am glad I got him taking some vits.

Would love to post picture and have spent 10 minutes rearranging things in the kitchen to make picture (even took a picture of my craft activities). My phone, however, doesn't do mobile network and DP is shouting at the TV can't be disturbed for our super secure Wifi password (so I can use that on the phone) so will post picture later.

Gillster · 01/06/2014 21:37

Hi HB! Glad you've managed to get an early appointment to assess your cycle. How did it go in terms of eggs retrieved and fertilisation? Was this all good? Did you end up with any frozen embies. If you got a reasonable number of good quality embies then maybe it was an implantation issue? If so, my question would be how to improve implantation? Some clinics use an embryo glue and there's also evidence that scratching the endometrium beforehand can improve implantation. I'd see if any of these processes were available. When I have my polyp removed in a few weeks they are also going to scratch the lining too. Good luck, I hope you get some meaningful answers.

Hope you're feeling better Chloe. It's all a bit of an anti-climax isn't it? You psych yourself up for a transfer and the 2WW and suddenly that's taken away from you. We also have 6 embies in the freezer but our clinic said they'd defrost four of them to make sure we have the best chance of them defrosting OK and being able to have a transfer. I'm happy for 2 to be put back in as feel that although the risks are higher plenty of people have successful twin pregnancies. I'm also consider myself to be fit and healthy so should be better able to cope. Also at 40, I've just about had enough of this TTC shit and would like to get it all done and dusted in one fell swoop.

Fab news Barking must be such a relief after such a lot of stressful weeks. I know the stress won't end any time soon for you though so just try to relax and not read too much into every twinge. I think some bum bullet action will definitely help and hopefully allay some of your fears.

I had some really sharp pains on my left side Feathers. I think it was just my ovary groaning. Try not to worry. X

Currently on holibobs Smile so may be out of touch over the next week, not that I'm the most prolific of posters.

TheRainDrops · 01/06/2014 22:02

Jeebus, what a lot of posts for a Sunday!!!

rosie preseed/conceive plus FTW when it comes to the pleasure stakes, and I am not afraid to admit it! The only tricky bit is the quantity, if you've got a decent bit of ewcm action already it can end up.... well.... I'll leave it at that.

batty enjoy the residential (!?!?) still so made up for you!

chloe, lumen hope you're both feeling alright today

wazingafingers I did the same when I was pg, just be glad you're remembering to wash! I had one incident at work where I only remembered as I sat back down at my desk! Blush

hb good luck for tomorrow. No practical advice but what everyone else has said sounds good.

for everyone else, too much to catch up on!

Well, I only went and flew a blimmin' plane today, and I didn't kill anyone! Totally exhausted now after a very long day so bath, bonk, bed - in that order. Grin Ttfn!

RevoltingPeasant · 01/06/2014 22:09

Omg. Was that planned or did you have a random action movie experience?

RosieintheAlps · 01/06/2014 22:13

Here are the food/ domestic marathon pics. Tried the spinach muffins. I really like them. Might become a staple Smile

Thanks for the advice re preseed Rain.

Good luck everyone for scans, tests and general start of the week tomorrow.

PS: Rain, well done on flying a plane whether it was an action stand-in or your usual day at the office.

happylass · 01/06/2014 22:35

Well done on all the baking Rosie. Looks delicious. I've just ordered the Honestly Healthy cookbook on everyone's recommendations. Planning on going on a bit of a health kick in the run up to the wedding and (hopefully) IVF.

Batty I hope your residential goes as well as it can. Check in if/when you're able to let is know how you're getting on.
Hope all you newly diffed Berries are not having too much of a stressful time. FX for all of you with scans coming up.

Teacher Berries bring on the final countdown. Only 7 more Monday mornings Grin

Absolutely zero to report with me at the moment. Am mid shag week.Might crack open the Conceive Plus for tonights encounter. Not used it for a while but I'll try anything at the moment. Got our appointment with the private clinic next Saturday so I'm hoping that this time next week we'll have some kind of plan in place.

Hope everyone has a good start to the week. Night all!

happylass · 01/06/2014 22:37

PS - yes Rain well done on the 'plane flying, however it came about!! I'm absolutely petrified of flying so can't imagine actually taking control of one!
