The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Tiger your interview process sounds proper hardcore.

HB, bless you with your blanket making. You have had a really tough time. Xxx

Bushy not seen either of those shows. I saw Secret Life of Babies was on but didn't fancy it. Happy that the epu have sorted your next scan out.

Not sure what's happening with mumsnet on my phone, but can't scroll back at all again now. Grrr.

funkymonk · 04/06/2014 21:40

Oh god. Having real problems with this page tonight!

greatbigbushybeard · 04/06/2014 21:44

Arr hb that last bit brought a tear to my eye. SadWhat kind of stitching do you do to make a blanket? I'd love to learn and make something like that for a baby... Just need a teacher.

Yup it was me that gets 3 Ivf on nhs but has to pay for storage of embies. Know what you mean chloe about kids being expensive! we got our bill for £700 the other day, I've tried to phone to pay it but they've not been that proactive about phoning me back.

barking I used to love baby programmes and would watch one born every minute avidly but once things got difficult for us I just couldn't bear it. It was like willingly torturing yourself. At one particularly bad point if there was a birth in an advert my dh would change channel quickly. When I had a meltdown over my cousin's announcement, we watched the star trek movie which starts with a Kirk 's birth as the ship his father is on gets destroyed, pretty dramatic stuff, I remember being sat there thinking I can't get a break. My dh said don't worry it's only quick, bless him.

Don't know how I feel about the scan, bit nothing really. Glad we've got it but not dreading it or scared at mo,just a bit whatever.. Maybe mind's way of protecting itself.

greatbigbushybeard · 04/06/2014 21:50

I know I thought of you feather when I got my date. Hopefully it'll be good news for all! As chloe put it, 8 more sleeps for me, 7 more for you. God, what a looong day if you're still at work. Still, next time you'll be there you'll be mrs feather!!!

HowsTheSerenity · 04/06/2014 22:37

Morning
Oh you are all so nice (not very mumsnetty comment I know).
I don't really know much yet. Was only told yesterday that it's now ivf time.
I have an initial appointment next week.

winohhh · 05/06/2014 11:56

Barking, great news!! Everything crossed that the scan goes well!

Good luck with your scans too bushy and feather.

Hello serenity!

I had a 6 week scan yesterday. All seemed to be fine. Measured ok, saw heart beat. I'm really hoping this will have a different outcome to last time. Feeling somewhat reassured for now. I'm travelling for work over the next couple of weeks, so may not be about, but I'm routing for you all and hoping for lots of happy news!!

lumen · 05/06/2014 12:03

Excellent news win. Enjoy your travels. Love a happy post Smile

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/06/2014 12:44

Great news Win. The chopper needs some new occupants after another baby arrived this morn (puppy)

RevoltingPeasant · 05/06/2014 13:22

that's lovely merk - have been stalking the chopter but feel a little too unsure to move for another weekish.

win, fantastic news, really pleased!!

RevoltingPeasant · 05/06/2014 13:22

chopter = chopper + copter. sigh.

FeatherFeather11 · 05/06/2014 14:24

Great news win!! Flowers

And congrats puppy! Not that she'll be reading this.

Howdy everyone. I'm in wedding mode. Burst into tears at the flower market at 4.30 this morning as the peonies weren't big enough. Errrrr ...

barkingtreefrog · 05/06/2014 14:51

Ha ha! Never had you down as a bridezilla feather! Wink Grin

Great news win, I'm two weeks behind you and dreading it already!

DH has his head firmly in the sand. I can't even make reference to anything vaguely related without him telling me to calm down and not get my hopes up, 'let's just see how it goes' is his mantra. So I'm trying to do the same, but it's not easy to do when I'm still doing the bum bullets twice a day, eating right, not training, driving to work not cycling, and having to consider what to tell my best mate (lovely but not-got-a-clue instadiffer) when we're supposed to be going on a cycling weekend away in three weeks time and she wants to plan it this weekend... If I was a man I could quite easily ignore all this and pretend it's not happening!!! Angry

OP posts:
FeatherFeather11 · 05/06/2014 15:17

barking neither did I! I'm hoping it's the hormones.
Your dh sounds like he's in proper self-protection mode. Maybe you should go ahead and plan the cycling weekend with your mate and cancel when you know what's happening - am sure she'll understand. Think it's hard for oh's. Mine has so much hope that this pregnancy will be ok that I find it heartbreaking. I'm worried I'm going to let him down (again). On the upside, scan is just over a week away all will be clear. I had acu today and my lady gave me a verbal clobbering - told me I need to be more positive, which I suppose she's right about.

Foodylicious · 05/06/2014 16:09

barking can I suggest you 'develop' a knee injury and that your doctor has recomended you dont cycle for at leadt 4 weeks, or something similar?

If you tell her now you can stop having to think about it.

I don't like having to lie to friends, but they understand if/when you tell them later

lumen · 05/06/2014 16:10

batking my dh keeps saying the same about the whole IVF process. He won't talk about a holiday I want to plan for sept when we both have some time off, just tells me to wait and see what happens. Grrrrr...... I have been doing that for over 2 yrs whilst ttc Confused

Bridezilla feather . I know the flowers seem very important now (and your hormones prob aren't helping) but look at the big picture. The wedding will all go ahead without issue, you won't notice all those little details you have stressed about for months, you will all have a fab time and you will be married to your MrF Shock

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/06/2014 17:32

RP the chopter (Grin) is yours for the taking; its half empty now. I'm too busy stalking this thread and sending positive vibes to you all

happylass · 05/06/2014 18:30

Afternoon all. Been rubbish at keeping up with what's going on. Work is ludicrously busy at the moment.
HB you are beyond brave. Thinking of you at this difficult time Thanks
Hope the time isn't passing too painfully slowly for those of you awaiting scans.
Feather not long to go now!! I saved this picture ^^ on my phone for when things get a little crazy (like the website I ordered my hairpiece from cancelling the order a week after I ordered it, then the second website saying it was out of stock but they can get it to me in a month, which is waaay too late for my hair trial next week )

tigerdog · 05/06/2014 18:58

haha to you bridezilla's feather and happy although I can't imagine that you actually are in real life - you both seem far too level headed!

Feather - 4.30am?! I think I would be prone to tears if I was shopping for flowers at that time!

great news on the scan win!

barking I'm with foody - deal with it now using an excuse like an injury or that something else has come up and then put the worrying about it to bed. My OH would be very similar, he says things like, there's no point in worrying or getting ahead of yourself. If only it were that easy!!

Had my pre-op assessment today. Nothing much to report apart from the usual being kept waiting around for ages. They did a pg test - I did point out that at 8dpo it was pretty pointless but they'll do another one on the day. Lets face it though, its unlikely to be an issue given where we are at the moment!

RevoltingPeasant · 05/06/2014 19:58

I wouldn't want to marry that man. His right shoulder is freakishly big and his head is too small. Also he has the same haircut as Richard Gere in Pretty Woman.

She appears to be wearing a hoover bag on her head Confused

RevoltingPeasant · 05/06/2014 20:01

So just getting my head around scans....

Barking you have one booked for when again?

Bushy you've had one but inconclusive and having another?

Win you've had one...and basically good to go?

Feather, you need to have one in a couple of weeks?

There is a lot to remember!

greatbigbushybeard · 05/06/2014 20:17

Winooh that's great news.

feather the bridezilla eh!! Peonies though, love peonies!!! So big and blowsy but clearly not big enough!! What colour are you having? Are they your bouquet or bridesmaids? What else are you having? Love a bit of wedding chat. Yes, you prob do need to be a bit more positive, or at the least not negative, just somewhere in the middle. Bless your dhtb, he sounds lovely. Hopefully all the stars are aligning for you and featherlette will come along and all your friends/family who have know idea about the behind the scenes will think you're a wedding instadiffer!!!

happy how are you thinking of having your hair?

rp you're so funny!! Now I've looked again he does have a freakishly big shoulder!!!

My stomach is making lots of grumbly noises this evening whilst I'm having a cuppa and catching up on here.

barking indeed he's gone into self preservation as it's all easier to deal with that way. Both good suggestions on here re your cycling trip. If planning it is going to annoy you then just sack it off with any of the excuses the other berries have mentioned.

happylass · 05/06/2014 20:29

RP this is why we are all in this situation - far too fussy. I'm sure Kirsty Alltwat will confirm that we should have married the first uneven shouldered, small headed man we came across in our early 20s, bypassed Uni and got diffed asap Grin
Tiger what op are you having? Apologies for being clueless, I lost track of the thread sometime last week!
Bushy I'm thinking hair mostly down and Kate Middleton-esque (in my dreams!)

tigerdog · 05/06/2014 20:46

happy it's a laparoscopy to check for endo. I have very heavy and painful periods, as well as pelvic pain randomly throughout the month. Dreading it a little bit, mainly all the hanging around - have to get to the ward for 7.30 and then wait for my slot. Knowing my luck I'll be last - they reckoned I should tell OH to pick me up mid afternoon/early evening.

greatbigbushybeard · 05/06/2014 20:47

Sounds lovely happy Smile lol at Kirstie alltwat.

greatbigbushybeard · 05/06/2014 20:52

tiger I was told to come in morning think it was 10.30 or something and think was 2nd that day. My dh took me in but then went home and they rang to say when to come back and get me. I think it was 5 when I came round and then I wasn't ready to be discharged so had to go to another ward. They won't let you go until your bleeding has slowed, you've had a wee and you are ok on your feet. Don't think we left the place til gone 7 or later, a long day but I was out if it for most of it so didn't bother me.
