Vic that's fab! finally things are starting to go your way! definitely nag him about the vit c. I liked that the Dr actual referred to medical studies supporting it. have to say he was very good. I'm 29yo so not "young" but the right side of 30....for another 9 months at least!

thanks blue. and good luck with the hsg. you will be fine. you so need someone to drive you tho, I was glad I didn't have to drive after. give ur dh a kick. not like he has to go through it. my dh just waited in waiting room, didn't actually come in with me.

xBlueberry88x · 18/07/2014 15:15

Lil sadly hes working a late.

Ive asked my mum to come with me not sure id want her in there but at least ill have the choice.

Fed up with all this exercising though, measured and weighed myself yesterday and there literally no difference just an inch here and there and no difference in weight.

What if I cant loose the weight hes asked me to loose, im exercising everyday alternating between cycling and 30 day shred, i walk alot for work and im eating salads etc what more can I do.

Mam31 · 18/07/2014 16:41

Blue you can't ttc the month of the hsg you have to wait until the next month due to unknown risk of the dye they put in you. I'm getting my hsg in august so our next try will be September!! Annoying!

lildottie · 18/07/2014 19:17

blue stick with it. you won't notice the difference immediately but it is making a difference. I found drinking more water shed weight quicker. also staved off hunger a little

Lauraqc · 18/07/2014 23:09

Hi hope everyone's ok!

Victoria - glad to hear things are moving the in the right direction and you had an acknowledgment of bad service; hopefully now you're in control you get it moving more quickly!

Blue - I started low GI diet about 3 weeks ago and have lost a measly 4.5lbs but I credit it with making me ov for first time since I don't know how long! I've done weight watchers online before as I like the tracking thing but finding the Low GI good to bring the insulin levels down. As I say seems to be working...

I've had some very light bleeding when I wipe tonight after ov a week ago last tues. Not sure what it is whether af is due or implantation - tbh ill be happy either way as long as something is happening after not have a for anything for 7 months! Easy to please :)

victoria401 · 19/07/2014 05:19

Darn it! Just woken up by the thunder and lightening at discovered af has come early! Meant to be getting my bloods done on Wed and now its too late! Need them done Monday and now its the fruggin weekend and I can't try and see if they can fit me in!

Lauraqc · 19/07/2014 07:43

March there Monday morning and camp out til they see you! Even if they have a cancellation or something it'd help!

Got major cramps this morning feel like af is coming (I'm probably the only person on this thread who will be pleased to see that!) but still same sort of watery light red/brown. Will test later if it hasn't gone into full blown af....damnit going riding and swimming this morning too and I'll be worrying all morning!

lildottie · 19/07/2014 10:01

oh Vic! definitely phone Monday morning and see if u can get an appt. i have to day I've not heard of day 2 tests, only day 3 but perhaps they are testing something different? if u know what u are being tested for you could research and see if cd3 will be any good in case u can get in for Tuesday? don't worry about it until you can actually do something about it on Monday though. most surgeries have appointments kept back each day for emergencies. maybe find out if you can get it done at a private clinic if its not too costly? they may be open on a Saturday? Thanks

Laura fx you get something either way so you finally know where you stand.

Lindsay81 · 19/07/2014 12:23

m33r congratulations!!!! So happy to see another bfp! Xoxoxo Remind me how long you were trying? Did you guys have any complications/ hurdles or did it just take this time to happen?

So sorry about being so MIA :-( Being on here isn't always great for me and makes me obsess a little. Hope everyone is doing ok and buoyed by m33r's good news!

Update from fertility appointment is that an 8 day luteal phase doesn't make any difference (what?). Blood tests booked for my day 21 again and also day 24 which I am sure will be higher and prove I ovulate late. But they don't seem to think this is a problem. She said she would start me on clomid if the day21 result was borderline again. I kind of wish I'd shut up about getting day 24 done too because I don't think they'll give me clomid if I get a good progesterone result on day24, despite cycle only being around 27 days, as they don't believe in a luteal phase defect and will just say it's good that I'm ovulating.

HSG also booked for the end of August.

DH's results all good and in fact he seems to be quite the Fertile Fred. Which has led to him strutting about like a prize stallion. lol

Although nothing has happened yet, I kind of feel inside e like we are getting there. Slowly. Maybe.

L xx

victoria401 · 19/07/2014 13:04

Hi, false alarm! No af! Just had such bad cramps when I woke at 5am with the storms I was convinced it was starting. All gone quiet again now. Panic over! But if I started tomorrow Wednesday would be day 4... Day2+3 are the same tests. Doc said needed to be 2 or 3 makes no difference. But this was doc who didn't know what a bad sperm test was!

Welcome back Lindsay I agree that you do become obsessed looking on here. Its not so bad for me now though as I will not get preg without help! Gone are the symptom spotting days and plotting best bd days. I hope you can get more info and help for your luteal phase.

Laura hope you get your answer one way or another x

lildottie · 19/07/2014 17:11

oh good news Vic! I think day 4 would be fine as its meant to be day 3 so 2 or 4 would be one day either side. hope the witch behaves and shows up when she's meant to! Thanks

lildottie · 19/07/2014 17:13

oh and Lindsay don't take that shot. book am appointment and go in armed with research from medical journals and such like. write to a clinic and ask them to confirm you should qualify for referral. check clinic websites and hfea website for info. then kick the gps ass. it annoys mW so much that GPS are idiots when it comes to this stuff and mess with our lives like this.

Lauraqc · 19/07/2014 17:58

I have af! I realise this is odd news that I'm pleased about this but I'm just very happy to feel like my body is on my team!

Lindsay - I think most of us have gone awol every now and then - I think it's healthy - we have to keep living our lives despite waiting for the elusive bfp!

Victoria - symptom spotting sucks and it sounds like you have your game plan :)

Lil - you kick butt! Remind me to ask you when I've been fobbed off by dr again!!!

victoria401 · 19/07/2014 20:18

Yay for your af Laura!

If I knew I couldn't get pregnant I would be symptom spotting today! Have sore boobs still at 12dpo and was feeling nauseous and goose bumpy just now. Uber tired today too. Absolutely nothing to do with my late night, red AND white wine and 6 course posh dinner plus being awake more or less since 5am from the thunder and lightening show! Lol

Lauraqc · 19/07/2014 23:04

Yep Victoria couldn't be anything to do with those things (but my god they sound worth it!!) xx

Ladyboluna · 19/07/2014 23:24

Hello ladies I'm ttc #1, this is cycle 12. Starting to feel a little down especially as people I know who've been trying for only a few months are already pregnant. Also both our families know so I'm beginning to feel like I'm getting sympatric looks.

Over the last week of my time off work I've had a cold and a tickly cough. In the last few days I've vomited 4 times (twice today) after coughing only once. Didn't feel nauseous and normally being sick hurts or makes me feel upset this was like bleh then found sick on my lap (sorry if it's tmi!) not like me, usually I'm a martyr. Thinking it's just a cold but my af is due on Saturday (I have a short cycle usually only 25 - 27 days). Fingers crossed it's early sickness.

Lindsay81 · 19/07/2014 23:41

lildottie This IS the fertility clinic!!! Can you believe it?! The specialist also told me she had never met a patient who didn't have a 14 day luteal phase. Hmm

victoria401 · 19/07/2014 23:47

Hi lady welcome to this very friendly lovely group :-)

Sorry to hear you've been poorly the last few days. Bit odd you've been sick with a cold, I sometimes get sick if I have a really bad cough and get a gag reflex but not spontaneous like you describe. Fingers crossed it means something for you but as usual it is a waiting game :-( If it does happen to be another bfn at least you can now get some tests done having reached the magic 12 months. Best of luck and we're here to support x

victoria401 · 19/07/2014 23:48

Lindsay OMG! I despair of the medical profession I really do! What a bag if shite!

lildottie · 19/07/2014 23:49

omg Lindsay that is ridiculous! I was offered a choice of clinic, can you change to another one? I'd seriously consider it if I was in your shoes. was it a consultant who said that? I thought clomid was to induce ov not for lp so if you are ov I don't think it would make a difference if u didn't get cd24 test and took it. are you taking b vits?

Ladyboluna · 19/07/2014 23:54

Hi Victoria - thanks for the welcome.

I have coughed myself into gagging a few times however when I've vomited it has taken me by surprise and there's no nausea beforehand. The gagging feels more like overeffort in coughing. Probably just from the coughing but I've never done this before.

I had a very early MC a few months ago and I went to the gp who told me that's what it was. He chuckled in a kindly way and said I had plenty of time after asking my age. Worried I might have to convince him to send me for tests if af comes. I'm 23 Btw and my partner is 24.

Like you say though af does come with a silver lining if it comes this month!

m33r · 20/07/2014 12:56

Hi lindsay. Yep, sometimes better for sanity to stay away for a bit. I'm now 5+2 and am resolving to restrict even ante Natalie I hate hearing how common early mc is. Mostly feeling very positive though and obviously delighted.

We were trying for 19/20months. We had all the tests and all ok. If you want any other info, let me know. Very happy to share! X

The docs and the form I got for the hsg only said no sex before.

My doc even said it might help get pregnant after.

Has anyone else been told not to have sex at all?

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 20/07/2014 14:34

Hi all, I posted here a few weeks ago but have been a bit rubbish since (trying not to think/obsess too much although not having much success at that!) Firstly big congrats to m33r, so great to see a positive story you must be over the moon! Fingers crossed everything goes well for you.

Just wanted to say thanks for the support and advice after my last post. I have been ttc number 2 for 11 months with really irregular cycles (last one was 63 days), went to see my GP last week and she was really helpful and booked me in for bloods even though we've not been ttc for a year because of the long cycles. From reading other posts here I guess I am one of the lucky ones with a decent GP! I had the first blood test earlier in the week (she said these are usually day 3 but it doesn't actually matter as long as pre-ov and because of my long irregular cycles it was best to just do them straight away, the key thing is the comparative with post ov).

Anyway according to my fertility monitor and temp I ovulated on Friday, cycle day 21, which would be the earliest by far since my DS was born so I'm really pleased and trying not to get too hopeful. I really tried to think positively this month and cut down/out caffeine, sugary food and alcohol so maybe that all made some difference. Have '21 day' bloods booked for Friday (1 week before AF is due) and will have a follow up with the GP the week after.

Hope you're all enjoying the stormy weekend!
