Pornography discussions now , you are all slatterns, half dressed with crazy monobrows, hairy-arsed builders and there's even one with half a moustache. What am I doing talking to you cave people?!

For the record I never pluck my eyebrows and I don't wear make-up either. I'm far too lazy! I occasionally brush my hair when the gas man comes round though. I read somewhere that plucking doesn't make hair grow back thicker, that's a myth. It's just that short hair looks and feels thicker as it is growing.

Natty you sound so happy today! I'm happy too, I love Fridays, it's the promise of the weekend that does it. DH knew I had my eye on the bag, so bought it for- and I quote- "shopping for baby stuff". I love it, but I think it wouldn't meet MN's 'style' criteria. I might post a link to it so you can laugh at it!

Angsthase, remember not to call DH porn boy in public.

andi0411 · 08/09/2006 13:09

SOH i have just pmsl at your little description of this 'freak show'!! What a motley crue we sound...hairy cracks, tashed ladies, slatterns etc and that's just me- only joking
Have fab week end everyone - with wedings etc ..i am having my hair done in the morning, then lunch with my poor tashed mother- god love her- then a meal out tomorrow night with the dp. Lovely. xx

ShowOfHands · 08/09/2006 14:43

Ooh Andi, I'm having my hair cut tomorrow too!

Think I'll be very brave and go for....

a cut and blow dry!

andi0411 · 08/09/2006 15:09

1 cut and bloe dry here too- I'm never adventurous with my hair- too many disasters in my teens with perms etc...

I have very straight long brown hair- a bit layered...what about your good self?

coggy · 08/09/2006 15:11

I usually have my hair cut every six weeks but I've accidently forgotton to go.......................................since Christmas!!!!!

Yes.....I'm back..........and no-body noticed my (friend's) halfa moustache!!!!!

andi0411 · 08/09/2006 15:45

I used to go to the hair dressers regularly- haven't been in a while so know how you feel...

Nice lunch? lol re: the tash- you can't say anything on here can you
Are you a teacher Coggy- i don't know if it was someone else who said that- i was just wondering as the kids in the village near me have gone back to school- thank the lord -now

I'm terrible with my hair too. I dyed it lots as a teen, had incredibly long hair and made a real effort. Then cut it all off at 16 and hated it. I wore a hat for 18 months while it grew out and then developed a phobia about having it cut. I actually left it for two years before going to the hairdressers shaking and sweating. I had it about half way down my back until six months ago when I had it cut to shoulder length. It's light brown, with layers and sort of flicks out at the bottom. It's my one feature I never get fed up with. I only wash it once a week and it's never greasy or dry.

Still, hate the hairdressers, all those questions about hair care routines and holidays and having to look at yourself in a mirror. Eugh! And offering you a cuppa and cutting hair into it. And all the magazines are always two months out of date and about celebrities I have never heard of. I once considered shaving my head. Hmm...I wonder...

andi0411 · 08/09/2006 16:07

Yes its the tedium really that gets me when i go to the hairdressers- i know they can't be bothered any more than i can, but i tell them about my holiday and job etc and they nod and tell me their stuff and i nod and on it goes... it's only ever layering from now until the grave- YES i will be an old lady with long hair -in a bun if i want!!!

ShowOfHands · 08/09/2006 16:15

I hate the way they look at me as if I've crawled out from under a rock. They always blather on about hair care routines and intensive conditioner. I tell them I wash my hair once a week, condition it and let it dry naturally and they drop their scissors and stare in disgust. And the water's never warm enough when they wash it so when they ask 'warm enough love?', what do I do but lie and nod as the shape of those ridiculous sinks sends shooting pains down my neck. And all the conditioner they use smells of frickin' coconut and the Saturday girls stand around chewing gum and looking so bored that by the process of osmosis, their disenchantment seeps into my soul and I slump in the stupid leather chair and stare at myself in disgust for half an hour.

And I pay for this.

andi0411 · 08/09/2006 16:27

hee hee- you must go to my 'salon'...
also i always look like i haven't slept in a week/ am anaemic pasty faced and haggered. Everyone else seems so slim, toned, tanned etc- its v depressing- sometimes I do my hair before i go to the hairdressers- how sad is that?

ShowOfHands · 08/09/2006 16:31

Oh God I'm glad it's not just me. Everybody seems to love going to 'salons'. I despise it and the smell gets up my nose too!

Still, I like my hair looking nice and it's a family wedding I'm going to tomorrow with lots of relatives I see very infrequently, so it's good to make the effort. And I've heard your hair changes later on in pg so I'm making the most of it now!

PS Coggy I'll book you into the salon for a 'tache dyeing session, ok?

andi0411 · 08/09/2006 16:42

Well have a lovely time- looking fab too. Am going to get ready now as dp taking me out for a meal tonight- i thought it was tomorrow- but he's changed it. See you

ShowOfHands · 08/09/2006 16:43

Have a lovely meal andi. DH at work tonight so I have pick and mix and a DVD. Going to put my pyjamas on and put my feet up.

Have a good one chick!

andi0411 · 08/09/2006 16:55

pick and mix and a dvd...heaven..'see' you later xx

coggy · 08/09/2006 18:27

Right...........let's get one thing straight.....

SOH - Why would you need to book me into a 'tache-dying' slot at your salon?
Surely you mean my friend do you not???!!!!

LOL at you two and your hairdressing experiences!
You need to do what my friend does.....she doesn't go very often but when she does she sits down in the chair and says to the hairdresser...

"I'm here to relax. Don't ask me about my holidays this year or about my hair routines or anything else. I like to read a magazine and be quiet."
...............but it works!!!!!!

Yes Andi....I am a teacher (sorry meant to answer that when you asked earlier and forgot!!) I only work part-time so I went back this week for one day and then the rest of the week off - lovely!!!

The fact that I now have a sore throat from one blinkin' day at work is pretty rubbish tho!!!

Have a fab meal Andi.....and I am very at SOH's pick n mix - I LOVE them!!!!!
Leave some on the table when you've had enough eh SOH?!

ShowOfHands · 08/09/2006 19:07

Yes, yes Coggy dear your friend's facial hair issue!

Still got most of the pick n mix left. What's your fave? Fizzy, choc, chewy, got some lollies and fudge too. Oh and some foamy things and jelly beans.

Oh sod it, in the spirit of virtual friendship you can have half of them. But I am afraid I will need 75% of the fudge, otherwise tuck in!

Now the DVD's going on in ten minutes. If anybody objects to dinnerladies then you had better leave the sofas now.

coggy · 08/09/2006 22:25

Cool................I love all pick and mix.....in fact I may have to now go and buy some tomorrow!!!

DH and I have just watched a spoooooooooooooooooooooooky DVD and he is too scared to go to bed!!!

Back to that earlier comment I guess......scared into BDing????
Now just plain scared!!!!!!

coggy · 08/09/2006 22:26

Oh....and I will pass on your kind thoughtfulness to my friend when I next see her thank you SOH!!!!!!

ShowOfHands · 09/09/2006 14:38

Coggy, what film did you watch?

We went to see The Amityville Horror (remake) on honeymoon- tres romantic- and DH screamed in the cinema. We were staying in Edinburgh that night and as we walked home at midnight across the deserted city, DH was in a right old state! I think me telling ghost stories didn't help. He's a bit... er ... "sensitive".

andi0411 · 09/09/2006 14:40

Moring ladies- oops it's the afternoon and guess what? I'm not dressed yet- slatternly slovern or what? But I have a good reason..I was up very late last night after my lovely meal spending time with my lovely dp who proposed to me last night. !!!! Oh and i said yes...

We have been together for years- he was married before and i never really was too bothered about it as my parents had an awful marriage but i lost/ re- found my faith recently and we had discussed it. But now we are to wed next year...something overseas and private i hope.

xx

Natty1806 · 09/09/2006 15:02

Lovely news Andi that is fantastic.

I went out yesterday afternoon for a few drinks which turned into too many and am suffering a bit today, i don't know why i didn't just go home earlier, it's like i lose all my brain cells when i am out drinking. Oh well no more booze for me for a while, but now i want pick and mix after reading SOH had one last night, think i may go buy one in a minute.

coggy · 09/09/2006 15:30

Andi..........that's FANTASTIC news.
Congratulations to you and MrAndi-to-be.

SOH......LOL at your DH........mine was the same...he and goosebumps all the way through the film!!!
It was called 'Dark Water' or something like that.
We tend to watch thrillers as horror films don't do it for me.
I'd much rather have a dark pshycological thriller any day - although I tend to work lots of the plot out near the beginning!!!

Yes....I am annoying when I tell everyone who's done it!!!

Natty......you sound like my twin when it comes to drinking...I could have typed those words..."it's like i lose all my brain cells".
I'm strong minded with one drink...okay with two and then..............that's it!!!!!

ShowOfHands · 10/09/2006 11:37

Andi! Very many congratulations to you chick. Ooh I love a good wedding but I'm afraid you'll have to give us some more details. One knee? Did he have a ring? Tears? Feel free to tell me I'm a nosey old bag. I'm just jealous because when dh proposed to me I didn't hear him and muttered something about 'mmm, yes dear'. I kid you not.

Coggy, I've seen Dark Water, it's quite spooky. Have you seen the original Ring film? I think it's by the same guy and certainly one of the scariest things I've ever watched. IMHO the scariest film ever made is that Running Man one with Arnold Schwarzecschewarndegeegeegerggeeggger in it. I can't watch it because I have an irrational fear that it's going to come true and one day we'll all be watching gameshows where convicted criminals are hunted for sport.

It's very quiet on here of late. Don't tell me you all have lives outside of MN? Had a great weekend. Went to a family wedding yesterday but I'm shattered as I had to drive up and back in one day, 300 mile round trip. We got in at 3am and it was during the return journey that my ms decided to hit with a vengeance. Feeling a wee bit nauseous this morning too. Still, we told my grandma that I'm pg yesterday. She's nearly 80 and I don't see her often. She's been told it's a secret, only her and my DH know. She cried bless her!

Anyway, I'm wearing the MN slattern hat this morning. Got to go and get dressed, going to my brother and SIL's for a roast. Yum yum, Sunday dinner, all of the trimmings and I don't have to cook it. It's going to be a good day (when the nausea subsides!)

Hope you're all top banana and had good weekends.

SOH
xx

coggy · 10/09/2006 17:37

SOH............hope you enjoyed dinner and your MS didn't spoil it!

I generally hate Arnold Schwarzecschewarndegeegeegerggeeggger movies BUT I LOVE Running Man......it's FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABBBBBB!!!

My DH thinks I'm mad because I try my hardest to avoid any action-men-type films and he doesn't get my obsession with that one!!!

Not seen 'The Ring'.....is it similar to 'Dark Waters' - a thriller rather than a horror film?

We saw 'Skeleton Key' last night and that was very good.......I sussed the guilty culprits within the first ten minutes but it had a twist at the end that I didn't expect at all......that is my perfect type of film.

I love getting it right but I also love that little extra surprise I didn't think of!!!

And yes......DH was a shivering wreck again.......might go for Bambi next time!!!
LOL!!!!!
