Newcomers very much welcome!

Not sure if anyone will remember me, I was TheAccidentalExhibitionist, Ive undergone a name change since then.

I had 5MMC and eventually saw Mr Shehata who diagnosed me with high natural killer cells. We spent 8 months trying to get upduffed once I was diagnosed, with lots of support from this thread.

I was just at the point of starting ovitrelle when I got post viral encephalitis this time last year. Its been a devastating illness but I'm recovering well. It will take me another year to fully recover.

I'm still not well enough for my body to support a pregnancy. To be honest pregnancy has been the last thing on my mind but I've watched the Ovitrelle in the fridge get closer to its use by date and now go past it.
It feels like a metaphor for my bodys chance of having a baby, we've gone past it now.

Having a second child was a massive desire in my life for several years, we got really close but sometimes shit happens and I feel Ok about it.
I'm just glad to be alive and functioning.

Its absolutely lovely to read that the posters I remember are doing so well, considering or having second successful pregnancies.

Happy birthday Free Thanks

BellyD · 25/07/2014 09:10

Free happy birthday for yesterday, I hope you celebrated in style.

MerdeAlor welcome back but sorry to hear you have had such a rough year. Wishing you a continued recovery back to full health.

cartoontrickster · 25/07/2014 09:37

merde I remember you. I'm glad that you are at peace with things and are well on your way to a full recovery.

MrsPixieMoo · 25/07/2014 10:01

Just catching up!

Happy Birthday Free

Merde welcome back. So sorry to hear about such a horrendous illness. Very glad you've survived it and wish you well for your ongoing recovery.

Am so big now that even most of my maternity clothes don't fit. Back is in agony so am sitting on ice packs and counting days…10 sleeps to go.

Waves to everyone xxx

VillageMum · 25/07/2014 12:00

Faith is 2 months old - where did that time go? Very tiny, 8lb and 0.4th centile, but gaining weight, smiling broadly and doing v well. Small but perfectly formed Smile

Mel3062 · 25/07/2014 14:08

So sorry merde poor you glad you are recovering
Aw bless faith :)
Village it's like a mooncup but with a plunger :/ they sell it on superdrug website take a peek x

MrsPixieMoo · 25/07/2014 20:05

Baking it's lovely to hear about Faith. Enjoy her.

I'm stressing tonight as I just had a call from the labour ward saying they are full on my elective caesarian day (4th) and want to postpone me by a week. My due date is 7th and Mr S wanted me done on 1st so am getting quite stressed about their proposal. Nothing anyone can do but I just want one bit of certainty on this long, uncertain path Hmm

Igggi · 25/07/2014 20:42

Pixie are you sure nothing to be done, bit of foot stamping etc called for here I feel. You have medical advice after all. What will happen if you go into labour, will they perform an emergency section straight away?
I'm sure it will all be fine either way but personally I think going over your due date would be very stressful. I had a slightly-earlier than 39 week elcs as they couldn't fit me in till 39+5 otherwise.

MrsPixieMoo · 25/07/2014 23:27

Thanks Iggi. Plan is to foot stamp on Monday. Am a bit annoyed to have been called on a Friday evening when there are no decision makers at the hospital until Monday.

In theory if I go into labour I will have an emergency c section. However, my DH is in the army and I'm staying with him, 2 hrs from home at the moment. Just would love some certainty and not be panicking about being in labour on the motorway on the way to hospital.

MrsPixieMoo · 25/07/2014 23:28

Forgot to say, I asked if they could do me earlier and the junior dr just kept saying 'everything is full'.

Igggi · 25/07/2014 23:36

If they booked you in in the first place, they must have added someone else in! Good luck for Monday. Make sure you let your emotions show! It is too hard to be asked to wait another week...

MrsPixieMoo · 25/07/2014 23:48

Thank you! I was already bumped from 1st to 4th because they're overbooked but you're right, I really don't feel I can wait another week. Thanks for your support tonight x

Igggi · 26/07/2014 08:32

Sorry, you might find it more supportive if I'd said another week would be fine! I really don't think they are making a reasonable request in your situation, try to come up with a plan of who to speak to/how to get a result on Monday. Don't deal with junior staff who can't help.

freelancegirl · 26/07/2014 09:29

Agh mrsP that's really annoying! I hope you get it sorted. I would hate to wait too.

I am already worried about what I will do, although I realise it's early. Last time I was at Epsom hospital with Mr S but my due date would be 6th Jan so I'm guessing at 39 weeks he would still be on holiday. My two local hospitals in London are hideous. I haven't even seen a doctor yet (apart from mr s) let alone signed up for a hospital and I'm now 17 weeks.

Of course I remember you Accidental! Gosh it sounds like you have been through the mill.

Baking, can't believe you have a two month old! How's it all going? Do you have a good sleeper? My DS was awful!

MrsPixieMoo · 26/07/2014 12:18

Iggi you said exactly the right thing and it was so welcome after the platitudes that the registrar was trotting out. Thank you for that. Another week might be fine, we just don't know. I'm in a lot of pain at the moment, can barely walk and just want to have a safe delivery. Will keep you posted on Monday.

MrsPixieMoo · 26/07/2014 12:24

Free Epsom is a good place. I'm biased, I was born there!

I'd stick with them if you can (I'm at St H) and then as a Plan B, if you go into labour early before the planned section, you can go to a local hospital. That's pretty much the position I'm in. Our permanent home, GP etc is all in the St H catchment area, but DH is placed away with the army at the moment and DD and I are temporarily with him. We didn't expect to be here now and will go back home for the CS and recovery, but obviously we need to know when it will be as otherwise DH will have the wrong time off work and we will be 2hrs drive apart. First world problems, but it's good to have a couple of plans.

My emergency CS was also at St H and despite it being in the small hours with a very tired team, it was a good experience.

Mel3062 · 26/07/2014 13:05

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the quads programme that was on itv? I missed it :( I will pay for DVD and postage?

VillageMum · 26/07/2014 18:06

Mrs P best of luck for Monday. I would really make a fuss. You are in pain - you have a complex obstetric history - and Mr S originally recommended a C-section for 1 August. Weep and wail!

merde sorry to have missed your earlier post; the refresh button on here doesn't always work for me! Love your attitude. Wishing you a full recovery and joy in life!

baking Faith sounds gorgeous! You must be so happy and relieved.

I was just stalking roaming around mumsnet and really pleased to see Euro has had her wee one - massive congratulations to you if you ever still check on here! Thanks Smile

MrsPixieMoo · 26/07/2014 19:10

Thanks Village. I will make a fuss and report back. Thanks to all ladies on here for your support.

dildoos · 26/07/2014 23:29

Hi all. I am here hoping I can join you all? My history is 7 mc. I called the Bourne hall clinic for help as feel not getting anywhere on NHS. They advised me to see a recurrent miscarriage clinic so I have chosen to see dr shehata. I was wondering if any of you could help advise what I should expect on my first consultation? It's scheduled for 27/10/14 ( soonest that the clinic had) follow up booked for 17/11/14. I will take all test and scan results I have had to date. Just wondering how long I should expect to be there, what to wear for ease of examination? Will there be an internal? Will my partner be examined ? Sorry I have no idea what to expect. I have read up on NK cells testing and sounds like a possibility ( I usually mc at about 8 weeks) , but I also wondered if progesterone levels may be a concern for me too given every blood hcg test I have had for all miscarriages they comment on it being low but no one seems to answer me when I ask if this is why I miscarry?
Sorry for the long post.

freelancegirl · 27/07/2014 09:35

Hi Dildoos. Welcome to the thread. Sorry about your miscarriages. I recognise your name - have you dropped in before?

I've had one baby on Mr S treatment and will hopefully have another (am currently 17 weeks pregnant). In terms of the first appointment I just remember him taking all my history and sending me for blood tests, no examinations or anything. Not sure if that's changed from 2011 but can't imagine it has. I would say if you are reasonably flexible with timings and want to be seen sooner - ask them to call you if there are any cancellations. I got an appointment in a week by doing that but I was desperate to get on with it!

freelancegirl · 27/07/2014 09:46

And news about Euro, Iggy! She's had such a struggle to get here. Hope it all went well.

dildoos · 27/07/2014 10:59

Yes freelance, I have months ago but forgot where you all were (as stopped visiting the site for a while). I think then was going to see prof Q however 2 mc on and decided that dr shehata may be the man for us as have had more time to research. I think the receptionist has put us on cancellation list but with the last mc being this week , maybe 3 months of not trying (as we must not be pregnant when we go ) is probably best for clearing the mind and giving my poor body a rest?
I have another question should I continue on with my pregnacare conception tablets or am I best to clear my system of everything? Should I just take a folic acid a let only?
It's lovely to see your lovely news , with your current pregnancy I hope all is going well.
