Newcomers very much welcome!

I think my 6 months is up in August :(

teamdozie · 01/07/2014 06:45

Free first few weeks went really slow! I like you was showing really early! Bloated, puffy face and all the lovely things that go with taking drugs!
I decided to avoid people so I didn't see many of my friends and till well in to the second trimester! Every time we told someone I had a major panic so the Doppler was such a blessing!

It's funny how things work out! A BFP just before something sad! I always think of things like that as a sign!

I don't know how you do it with a toddler! (I know or hope one day I won't have a choice and will just get on with it) but nausea and tiredness, I take my hat off to you!

I'm positive all will remain well for you ! 2014 is proving to be a good year for many!

freelancegirl · 01/07/2014 10:01

I've been like that too Team, just avoiding people if possible: it's horrible isn't it - feels like you're only half living your life. And just when you need a nice glass of wine to take the edge off you can't!

That's really frustrating Mel. I know they say that 6 months is not long in the scheme of things it bloody feels like it when you're ttc and also having to take medication. This pregnancy took me 5 months of trying and it felt like ages, especially as my previous 6 pregnancies had all been more or less immediate. I had one month too when I was a week late for no reason! That messes with the head.

Arianrhod · 01/07/2014 11:14

Wow, congratulations free, fab news!! I hear you about the nausea, although for me thankfully it tailed off from about week 9. Second pregnancies are definitely harder, I think, inasmuch as you don't have the leisure to just sit down and do nowt whenever you feel like it. I keep being told by the hospital to take it as easy as possible, to which I have to reply "really? with a full-time job and a 7-year-old child?". It's just not possible - and I really couldn't imagine trying to do the same with a toddler!

I'm still here and reading, just haven't really got anything useful to say. mel If you look on the FF Serum general questions thread I think it is, there are ladies there who have asked what you did - how long would you need to be out there with an OE cycle. Obviously I thoroughly recommend Serum to any and all, but then I'm a bit biased. :)

I'm now 18 weeks and I feel enormous (midwife measured me 2 to 3 weeks bigger a couple of weeks ago, which is the twin effect of course). I am hugely uncomfortable and honestly can't imagine how on earth I'm going to feel in a few months' time! I'm not complaining, as such, I know the end result is worth it all, but I am vividly reminded of how much I hated being pregnant with DD. Don't get me wrong, obviously I loved actually having my DD once she was born and wouldn't be without her for the world, but the actual being pregnant bit I really hate, my body just feels awful. I'd like to go to sleep for the next 5 months and only wake up once the pregnant bit is over :)

/waves to everyone, and don't give up ladies, as so many here have proved it often just takes (endless) patience and perseverance!

BellyD · 01/07/2014 11:37

Free that is wonderful news, congrats, but I totally understand you keeping things quiet until your 12 weeks scan. Although it must be exhausting being pregnant with your little one to look after as well, I presume it cuts down on the time available for mentalling!!

I have been lurking but the thread had gone so quiet I thought I was on the wrong one! So great that it has been sparked back in to life with some lovely news.

Glad things are progressing well for all the pregnant ladies.

willitbe · 01/07/2014 12:26

Free - I am so happy that you have come and shared your fantastic news, I hope that you get to enjoy the pregnancy glow over the next few months and enjoy being back off the pred again.

freelancegirl · 01/07/2014 12:44

Thanks everyone. Willitbe knew from very early on about my pregnancy as when I nipped over to interview her it meant I had to watch from the sober seat as everyone else had a few drinks!

Ari so glad to hear it's all going well! I hate pregnancy too. Of course I'm grateful to be pregnant but can't wait for it to be successfully over and hope to not go through it again! I look like shit.

How are things with you belly?

Where's Duggs?

I'm writing this wired up to my intralipids! My mentalling side is thinking hope it doesn't matter that I'm having them at 13 weeks rather than 12, had to wait until after 12 week scan.

Mel3062 · 01/07/2014 18:32

Thanks free though had my chemical in sept so it's getting to me now x

Mel3062 · 02/07/2014 08:31

Umm strange I don't know why but just found the first response I took mon and held it to the window and there's the faintest line. It's there when I hold it to light too. Of course not visible in natural light so I bet it's an evaporation. Don't feel pregnant but restarted cyclogest and pred just in case! Argh!!

Mel3062 · 02/07/2014 08:41

The moniter said not preg mon so not holding out hope.af due today with ff and moniter

ChoccyPud · 02/07/2014 08:51

Woohoo free congratulations!! Fantastic news. Dr S and Louise kept telling me that feeling sick and tired through the Pred is a good sign. Given that Pred masks symptoms imagine how much worse you'd be feeling if you weren't on it - twisted how we think like that but hey!

Ari 18 weeks wow! Are you going to find out the sexes - if you don't already know?

Lovely news!

All well here. DD is 16 weeks old now and just a joy all round. Some days are fecking long and hard but somehow you get through. And it all just blows away when she smiles or gurgles at you! ?? She does need an op to clear a blockage in the tube coming out of her kidney to the ureter which will hopefully happen soon. I'm really not looking forward to going through that experience... At least DD won't have any memory of it.

Best wishes to everyone.

Arianrhod · 02/07/2014 09:29

choccy 16 weeks already!! Crikey, where does the time go. Just bear in mind that the op will cause more distress to you than to her - I think we suffer so much more than our LOs when they're ill or have to undergo surgery/injections etc. If it's any consolation, within a very short period of time she will have forgotten all about it!

Yes, defintely going to find out the sexes, 20 week scan on Mon 14th so hopefully they'll stay still long enough to find out conclusively!

suemays · 02/07/2014 13:16

Such a lot of good news in here!
free congrats to you - I had a feeling you were pregnant again as you had been quiet on here!

mel its frustrating when you have no idea what your body is doing. Hopefully your af will arrive or you get a definite bfp soon.

ari interesting that your sickness tailed off at 9weeks as it's generally worse then! Glad to hear you and the twins are doing well. My friend who had ivf twins was massive but she went to her due date and tried to have a natural birth. Ended up with an emergency c section as one of them was breech and got stuck after 10 hours of labour!

choccy nice to hear from you too.

I'm very excited as we are going to look at a new puppy this weekend. Dd has been wanting one for ages so we are finally giving in.
Waves to everyone else.

Mel3062 · 02/07/2014 14:13

Looks like af is starting so now I'm worried I shouldn't of stopped cyclogest on Monday :(

Triplespin · 02/07/2014 17:34

So pleased to hear all the good news.

Sorry mel that AF has arrived. Hope you are doing ok and looking forward to Serum. I hope that it works out for you soon.

Ladies can I ask a preds side effect question. I am getting extremely thirsty on preds. Did anyone have the same issue? Is it something to worry about and should I email Louise?

teamdozie · 02/07/2014 19:20

Ari such good news and all very exciting about finding out the what they are!!

Chocy 16 weeks! Wow! Time seems to have just flown by!

Mel sorry to hear AF has arrived!

Sue a puppy! Wow! How exciting! I remember when we for ours it put me off having babies!! (Not for long though) lol!

triple I was thirsty too during my time taking it! Te heat is probably contributing to this too! I wouldn't worry about it! Water is good for you! Wink

Xx

Cheerfulcharlie · 02/07/2014 19:59

Free - congratulations! So you're about 12 weeks now then? That's fab news!
And Ari - twins - wow! That's amazing!

I've been having preg symptoms (v bad nausea and absolutely exhausted, sore boobs) for about 3-4 days now but no faint line. Am on day 41 of my cycle and I was going to leave trying til next month after trying to lose a bit of weight but looks like my body attempted to ovulate 3 times this cycle (instead of the usual 2) so it is a possibility.
Also I now feel very achy all over and slightly warm - like I'm coming down with something. All a bit weird. I don't remember this with any other pregnancy so maybe I am just getting sick. My doc is now on holiday for 4 weeks so no idea how I will get my intralipids prescribed if I do need them.

bakingtins · 02/07/2014 20:07

Just popping back to say hi - delighted to hear good news for free and that other pregnancies are going well. Hope there are a few more happy announcements to come for those of you still waiting soon.
triple increased thirst is a v common pred side effect, don't worry about it.
DD is doing well, feeding much better and putting on weight. The weeks are flying by really quickly, but at the same time it feels like she has always been part of our family and it wasn't complete until she got here Smile

Triplespin · 02/07/2014 21:06

Thanks teamdozie and baking! I was watching out for increased appetite rather than thirst!! I feel relaxed now.

Baking - great to hear that baby faith is doing well! Can't blv you are getting time for mumsnet. Are your Dcs enjoying her?

Cheerful - amazing that you ovulate 2-3 times in a cycle :). Your symptoms sound positive. Hopefully it's just a case of you having tested too early. How many dpo do you think you are?

tannyLoo · 05/07/2014 02:39

Hi all, I posted a while back after my consultation with Prof B. At the time I planned to wait for the results of my biopsy, but, um, well... So now I am 4+4 and went back to Coventry to see Pro B for a scan and treatment plan.

There has been a backlog at the lab, so my results won't be back til next week, but the scan showed a tiny blob of a sac in the right place and the right size. After 5 MCs, it was so lovely to have a positive scan.

Prof B has started me on 20mg pred and heparin, and I've been taking progesterone since cd19. We'll review this when my nk cells test comes back, and I'm back there in a fortnight for another scan.

As I usually mc between 5and 6 weeks, that next scan is a biggie for me.

The pred side effects sound nasty, are they as bad as they sound? As you can see, pg insomnia has kicked in nice and early, and the progesterone has already made all my symptoms much more enhanced, so I'm looking forward to adding heparin and pred into the mix!

Comforting to see so many if you doing so well!

Triplespin · 05/07/2014 04:13

Hi Tanny

I am so glad that you have been giving a treatment plan. I am very hopeful that it will work out this time.

When do you get your biopsy results?

I have been on 25mg pred post ovulation for 6 days now and thankfully so far the only side effect I have had is insomnia. As you are on slightly less dose your side effects should be even more muted. Fx!

Mel3062 · 05/07/2014 06:02

Tanny that's lovely news x

teamdozie · 05/07/2014 06:27

Tanny huge congrats! I hope these next two weeks go quickly so you get to see your little bean again!!

Regarding the pred i was on 40mg first try and it really upset everything! My sleep, my weight! And I was swollen (puffy) this time round I was on 25 which wasn't too bad! I felt like myself I had the odd night if being up early but I think that's a mixture. I did swell up sgain but it went as I tapered off!

I think everyone is different. On such a low dose hopefully your symptoms will be minimal!

X

teamdozie · 05/07/2014 23:06

Hi everyone

Quick question! And sorry for TMI! I'm a bit concerned that I may be leaking fluid. I'm going to call the MW in the am but I just wanted to ask if anyone else has had symptoms of feeling wet all the time!

I've been wearing liners and today I had to change my underwear twice cause I was wet.

It had a yellow tinge to it (sorry TMI) which makes me think it was urine. Is there a way they can check?
I did see dr S on Wednesday and he said fluid around the baby was fine!

Thanks everyone

Tumtimes1 · 05/07/2014 23:26

Hey y ' all! Just checking in and had to post to congratulate the new expecting peeps!

Plus teams totally had the same issue at week 18. One day I noticed nickers were damp/wet. After trawling sites the best move for me was to get checked out.
First I got a swab done at my docs. Then next day whilst waiting for that packed myself off to A&E for a full check. They gave me a swab, blood test, checked if water was gathering and a scan the next morning. All seemed ok and looked like urine. Plus had thrush which can cause watery fluid. The pesseries sorted it out.

Let me know if I can help anymore but defo worth getting checked out xx
