So I couldn't find a May thread, so I thought I'd start one for all of us who have dropped off the April thread.

Aunty arrived this morning so I 've just started cycle 4. TTC #2. Just had a long cycle so if this is the same length my most fertile time will be over Easter weekend.

So I might go all pagan and invoke some Spring fertility goddess. Or something. Or piss on some sticks.

?? Good luck, Spring Goddesses.

Thanks English

I've banned myself from ics for this month - I've heard of too many false positives over the past few weeks - that really would tip me over the edge!

I have two frers in my stash and they will not be used until as close to d day as possible ignores fact I said the same last month

Waffleyversatile · 30/04/2014 10:50

MissMrsMummy i think i am 10dpo according to fertility friend and i had spotting this morning and cramping. scared to go to the toilet in case AF is making a very early appearance. I had a PUL last year and since we decided to try again every twinge in my body is sending me bananas. this is our first cycle of properly trying. I really need to relax and stop obsessing!!

MelMc73 · 30/04/2014 10:55

Thanks for stats English....it's a busy old bus!! Ding ding and hold on tight for some BFPs Dragon!! Roar!!

ChandlersFarang · 30/04/2014 10:57

Thanks a mil for the stats English! I'm estimating AF will appear around 9-11 May just because I think I ov'd on Friday 25, and according to what I've read online you're supposed to get your AF on average 14 days later. Is that the case for you guys? And you all start to test from 10 DPO?

MrsExtraOrdinary · 30/04/2014 10:58

Thanks English you are a star as usual Thanks

MissMrsMummy · 30/04/2014 10:58

I'm not even getting so much as a false positive! I had a line last month on an ic but then got bfns after so I don't know what it was.

Wafffley what's a PUL?

I'm waiting for AF as well. I always get 3 days of spotting before full flow so I'm guessing she'll be here any day! Also got some swabs today with the nurse so hope I don't get AF in the middle of that Blush

ChandlersFarang · 30/04/2014 11:01

Also I went for a curry last night which was the richest thing I've eaten in time... Has totally blown all of my desk-based symptom spotting out of the water today!! Bloated? Check... Gas? Ummhmmm... Cramps/Twinges...? Yep... Nausea? If I think back to how much I ate, then yeeeeeeeeeah... ShockConfused So essentially, being pregnant is just like a curry hangover. With more CM. Sounds fab!! Wink

ChaircatMiaow · 30/04/2014 11:09

Thanks English!

ChaircatMiaow, 34, TTC#1, cycle#2, BFP due May 13

ChaircatMiaow · 30/04/2014 11:11

Lol at chandler

Waffleyversatile · 30/04/2014 11:19

MissMrsMummy . Basically i got a positive test and 2 weeks later started bleeding. I was still getting a positive test a week later and went to GP who referred me to EPU clinic. A scan could find nothing but a pocket of blood but my HCG levels were still high. So basically your womb is empty but you are getting a postive result. I had an injection of methotrexate to expel what was left but it was 8 weeks before my HCG levels returned to normal.

Sorry for giving you my life story.

lindamagoo · 30/04/2014 11:31

Wow Waffle that sounds like a nasty experience to go through. Must have been heartbreaking. Good luck to you this time

MelMc73 · 30/04/2014 11:36

Lol chandler...I am at my desk (at home today) doing some major symptom spotting! Lots of cramping in my tummy - started about an hour ago and a wee bit nauseous as well.....but that could have been the bottle of wine I drank last night Hmm but I don't usually get cramps from drinking wine.....I am 7dpo....Hmm....implantation maybe?! Roar Dragon!!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 30/04/2014 11:37

Oh that sounds awful waffley, hope you get a bfp soon.

CHandlers... on average most people would expect af 14days after ovulation. I tend to have a 13 days luteal phase typically.
And when to test is a completely personal thing! A lot of the ladies on here like to test early. I myself would rather af turn up than get bfn. So this time round i'm aiming to hold out until 15dpo Hmm

ChandlersFarang · 30/04/2014 11:56

Waffle I have my fingers X for you!! What a sad thing to have gone through.

English - thanks so much!! I'm not sure how clued up the rest of you were when you decided you wanted to start ttc, but I basically had to re-revise the human reproductive system practically in its entirety when I came off the pill. I didn't know half of the key stuff!!! And I like to think of myself as an educated woman... Scary. Very much appreciate your real-life advice to supplement the online resources!! Am not speaking to any of my friends about any of this, mostly as I don't want anyone wondering how long it will take but also as I've never been comfortable talking about this bodily stuff. Praise be to Mumsnet! Wink

toots123 · 30/04/2014 12:36

Yes we shall have fun tonight! Wink

my stats are
toots123, 25, ttc#1 cycle 5 bfp due 14th may

toots123 · 30/04/2014 12:42

Just realised that although af isnt coming on holiday with us, if I get my bfp I wont be able to drink and will have to tell family at 5 weeks as they will wonder why im not drinking on holiday!!! Oh well, still want our bfp!!

victoria401 · 30/04/2014 12:44

I have just self diagnosed myself! The reason why I have been feeling so ill the last few days apart from having af is I've got CAFFEINE WITHDRAWAL!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 30/04/2014 12:56

oh yes Victoria, caffiene withdrawal is a bitch!! it does get better though, the first few days are the worst!!

lindamagoo · 30/04/2014 13:39

Is there a set number your progesterone level has to be over for ovulation? I never even asked the doc, was just told no further action required so phoned back and the receptionist said the level was 36. What would it be if I hadn't ovulated? For any of you well educated mumsnetters Smile Just curious

hanflan · 30/04/2014 13:58

Apparently if it above 30 then you have definitely ovulated. That's what a bit of googling told me haha!

hanflan · 30/04/2014 13:59

And somewhere else said above 20! Hmmmm

MissMrsMummy · 30/04/2014 14:12

Oh Waffley how awful?don't apologise for sharing - I did ask after all! Not heard of that before. I understand how that would make you apprehensive Thanks

lindamagoo · 30/04/2014 14:15

Thank you hanflan, it's all very confusing and doctor google just makes it worse. I know I ovulated but would be good to know if 36 is a good number to sustain a healthy pregnancy, especially at my age

wannabesedated · 30/04/2014 15:12

Oh. Well, after one post, I may be leaving the May club again as DH is feeling stressed about work and wants to wait longer after all. Which is his right and I am not going to moan at him, I am doing my best to be supportive! But I am feeling rather deflated. He's been saying for years that he was ready whenever I was, and now I've got all happy and excited, that turns out not to be true. :(
