So I couldn't find a May thread, so I thought I'd start one for all of us who have dropped off the April thread.

Aunty arrived this morning so I 've just started cycle 4. TTC #2. Just had a long cycle so if this is the same length my most fertile time will be over Easter weekend.

So I might go all pagan and invoke some Spring fertility goddess. Or something. Or piss on some sticks.

?? Good luck, Spring Goddesses.

Well af seems to be taking the piss this cycle, usually only here for 4 days and now on day 6, she better be on her way soon so we can get the shagathon on the go Smile And my softcups arrived today, dreading trying to put them in and taking them out but if there's a chance they will help I'll deal with it Smile

ZebraZeebra · 11/04/2014 11:08

I cried to DH the other night about how badly I wanted to be pregnant. God love him. He's self-employed and the sole earner. This was our choice but dayuuum, there's a lot of pressure on him Smile The hero that he is asked when my most fertile time is and promised me...promised me he'd get me pregnant. Come hell or high water. I LOVE THIS MAN Grin

ZebraZeebra · 11/04/2014 11:08

That was supposed to be italics. Italics gone wrong.

ZebraZeebra · 11/04/2014 11:10

Also, I am a marketing consultant and so I know how it works...but does anyone else think the ClearBlue ads above the Conception section are just a little too...salt in wound??

Bastards Wink

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 11:14

Aw Zebra what a sweet man you have there, fantastic when they take so much interest. As we are ttc #3 my oh has basically just said "tell me when you need me" lol...

SurreyBunny · 11/04/2014 12:32

Hello all!

Please can I join? I was kicked off the April bus at the weekend bang on time. I've decided to get some of this lard off in time for the summer so I'm not as disappointed in AF arriving - every month I get a BFN is a month more of getting healthier!

I am an obsessive symptom spotter though (crampy toe last month!) and I am constantly changing tactic. Dropping preseed as it was a bit too slippy for DH and adding in Maca this cycle. Also bought softcups which I used for AF this month and I may use for TTC. I'm temping too which I used when I conceived with DD and might use OPK's too (although the faff of surreptitiously getting a plastic cup from the water cooler and shoving it up my sleeve and going into the loo without anyone noticing was too much last month especially as I ov'd late!)

Anyway, I wish you all lots of luck. I struggle to keep up so will be lurking and cheering you all on Grin

My stats are

SurreyBunny TTC #2 Cycle 4 BFP Due 5th May

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 12:45

Hi Surrey, how did you find the softcups? Are they easy to put in and take out? I am also an avid symptom spotter and our cycles are pretty similar so we can become maniac spotters together Smile

SurreyBunny · 11/04/2014 13:06

Hi linda! Ummmm they were surprisingly plasticky with quite a rigid ring. I used them on my two heaviest days and I found it easy to pop in - squeeze it so the open bit is facing forwards push up and back. It slipped into place well although it didn't feel like it was in at the front. It is supposed to sit on top of your pubic bone but although it was, there wasn't a space for it IFYSWIM...however saying that I had no leakage and used it for 12 hours. It was messy to remove but easy if you hook your finger up and pull hard (the suction is very strong!!) once that seal is broken it was easy to pull out. DD was an ELCS so I'd like to think I'm average sized down there Blush and it was fine. I was aware of it but not really uncomfortable - but then I find tampons to be similar.

Sorry - long answer! If you're comfortable poking around up there you'll be fine!

SurreyBunny · 11/04/2014 13:12

Oh and linda are you having DH deposit into it? I remember you saying on the other bus about using syringes (or maybe I am getting you mixed up with someone else?) as I think that's the best way to use them. I think putting it in after might block out some swimmers...and probably you should be laying on your back when you put it so nothing falls out? Let me know how you go!! And please share your crazy symptoms - I'm trying not to tell DH anymore and I hope he never looks at my google searches Grin

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 13:17

Doesn't sound too complicated Surrey, will defo use them for ttc this month and if no joy I might use them for next af Smile My first DS was a vaginal delivery and 2nd was an emergency section but the weight I carried in both caused a prolapse so things were a bit of a disaster down there iykwim? But I had it repaired last year and it's all back to the way it was before pregnancy, which my oh is very pleased about Grin

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 13:19

Yeah he will be depositing his man juice in it Smile Read good reviews about it being done that way. Be much easier than the syringe cause there's still lots of leakage with that.

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 13:21

My oh doesn't want to hear all the crazy symptom spotting from me but he's desperate to get a read at what goes on here, he'd have heart failure if he read half of our stories, lol

SurreyBunny · 11/04/2014 14:00

I might try that way too if DH runs out of steam again...he insisted on DTD every single night and not surprisingly struggled!! So if that's the case we'll try that too. I think I had far too much leakage last time as we were mainly trying doggy and using preseed so it all whooshed out as I flipped over!

Oh and if you end up using it for AF (I really hope you get your BFP and don't need it!!) just to let you know I read you can empty it by bearing down. I was worried about it incase sneezing, coughing etc produced the same results but I wasn't able to do it anyway and had to break the seal manually to empty it which was pretty messy but it depends on your flow I guess if you'll need to do it or not.

Good Luck!!

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 15:27

Thanks Surrey, you've been a great help Smile

kurama · 11/04/2014 16:40

erm wow..... doubt dh will be willing to try that just yet lolBlush

SurreyBunny · 11/04/2014 17:15

Sorry....may have got carried away and a bit TMI there...Blush

I guess it's just I am nearly 35 DH is nearly 38 and we have DD who is 2 (and seems to end up in our bed far too much!) I wish I could relax and have romantic DTD but I am worried our opportunities are too far and few between.

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 17:22

Surrey I'm with you on that, we've got 4 year old and 2 year old ds's and I end up sleeping with the little one most nights so that's why we end up doing the insem. OH is 37 next month and I'm 43 next month so times a running out Smile

ZebraZeebra · 11/04/2014 18:28

There's something I'm quite anxious about :( Pregnancy and labour last time, the MWs in my area are a bit obsessed with weight. They weigh you at each appointment and when we went for the walk around the Midwife Led Unit, they were adamant that if your BMI was over a certain limit you wouldn't be allowed in.

As it happened I met the criteria but this time I'm still carrying the baby weight. I'm maybe 8lbs over my more comfortable weight and even though my pre-baby clothes all fit, my BMI is still high.

Now, I think BMI is actually a cursory and inaccurate measure but it's what they use so that's the parameters I have to measure myself in. As it happened, I ended up in hospital and I had a terrible time, far from the natural birth I had planned. I really, really, really don't want to go there again. But I'm so anxious about my weight. Really anxious. I am short with a 27 inch waist and a size 12. But my BMI is high and it's stressing me out. It's so stupid. I'm dieting really strictly while TTCing because of this. While still breast feeding.

lindamagoo · 11/04/2014 19:11

Zebra don't diet too hard, you don't want to make yourself ill in the process. I was a size 6/8 when I fell pregnant with ds1, was a 10/12 when I fell with ds 2 and I'm now a size 14 and my bmi isn't great but I know i'd still get seen by the midwife led unit if I planned a natural birth but I'm going for an elective c-section if I get pregnant this time

ZebraZeebra · 11/04/2014 19:54

I just can't seem to shift this last half stone or so!

Sparrowlegs248 · 11/04/2014 21:38

zebra I am also a tad too heavy. And actualky, seem to have packed weight on this last month. Idiot. I was losing it slowly but have gone totally off the rails. I put weight on very quickly. I am also capable of losing it very quickly but was trying to aim for the slow and steady approach.

However, I feel crappy and fat so fad diet it is then.

ChaircatMiaow · 12/04/2014 02:44

Hi ladies, I'm jumping on the May bus having skipped the April one due to a random 42 day cycle.

Yay and boo that I recognise some of you from the march bus.

Stats: ChaircatMiaow TTC#1 cycle#2

Starbright24 · 12/04/2014 08:17

Hopping aboard the May bus.

Starbright ttc #1 cycle 5 (I think) bfp 1st May.
I seem to have quite a short cycle so also on this bus for 2 tries - but worried it may be too short as af pretty light too.
1st day of easter holidays - cd8 and according to my app a great time to start shagging and collecting swimmers. - just need to find my dp now who's got up far too early!
I'm far too heavy. Really need to diet but can't quite get round to it.

lindamagoo · 12/04/2014 08:45

Hi Chaircat and Starbright Smile

I don't know how lucky we will be when my fertile period hits next week as my throat infection has gone into my chest and I've damaged the lining of my left lung, never felt pain like this Hmm Agony just breathing so I'm guessing we will have to solely depend on insem this cycle, won't be fit for dtd Hmm

Sparrowlegs248 · 12/04/2014 09:16

Oh linda that sounds awful!! Hope you are on the mend and plenty of drugs
