I've just read Toni Weschler's book Taking Charge of your Fertility and found it really interesting. It took us over 2 years to have our daughter and we're trying for number 2 so I'm ready to give anything a shot. I'm just interested to know how well known this approach is, and also to hear of successful experiences.

TOTALLY agree with you!!! but this trying thing is so alien to me ,never had to do it b4,its tedious and stressful even tho i try not to let it get to me, you just keep hoping maybe this cycle, and its sooo disappointing when its not

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 12:17

Tell me about it!! I cry every time A/F arrives! DH keep's saying "don't stress over it, it'll happens when it happens", yes that true but my life feels on hold and I don't stress on propose!!

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 12:20

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 12:25

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 12:25

If someone what a baby then they want a baby, shouldn't matter weather they have children already or not, as long as the children they have already are looked after everything else shouldn't matter!

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 12:27

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 12:28

That chart I was going by last year it can become obsessive, and I had to miss a month as it was a boy month and I kept having night mares thinking that was my month so I've scarped it!

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 12:32

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 12:42

I lost a baby at 15weeks doctor had to remove her (I believe the baby was a girl) and she was a big baby and split my womb and I was told I couldn't have children only with alot of help! I was only 16 yrs old and was told I couldn't have children on my own! My world was children and felt life wasn't worth living! Anyway 5 mths later, didn't take any contraception didn't think I couldn't get PG than I was 2 weeks late so tuck a PG test and I was PG only to M/C the next day! Then 4 mths later feel PG again, and now he's 6.5 yrs! And i have a DS 4yrs!

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 13:32

Hey babe ,back again, that is such a sad tale, im sure you will b pg again soon, its fated, well prob end up doing it at same time and both have girls then spend the nxt 16yrs moaning bt them lol.... it will happen xxx

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 13:43

MM- Lol, people tell me that girl's are nothing but trouble but I just say I would like to find that out by myself!

Twiglett · 24/08/2006 13:44

yes .. everyone should read it ... whether ttc or not

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 13:51

bbm4n3 im very sure you will, stupid thought and tell me 2 p... off if it upsets you, but do you beleive in angels??? there is a belief that if someone close to you passes they then become the guardian angel for the nxt little one to be born, maybe yours, and be assured your dear dad is up there watching out for you. im not esp religious but i do beleive in this xx

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 13:57

Nice thought angels but unsure weather I do believe in them, use to be A JW until I lost my first baby, still believe but wouldn't go back there! But saying that I have questioned alot of things since my dad died, as he died a very painful death, my dad asked my mother to help him die she didn't, but if he would of asked me I would of!!

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 14:03

Thats a toughie hun, i think i would help if it was me,words never really help do they, im sure your mum as much as you dislike her behaviour is just doing the grief her own way,it must be hard for all of you, just keep his memory special for your little sibs, thays the greatest tribute you can give. xx

endlesslove · 24/08/2006 14:11

Ok, here is a very daft question - how do take temp, with a thermometre like from Boots that you put in your mouth, or do get special ones for ttc.

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 14:11

I've had to really hard growing up, but I put that all aside for my brothers, but when dad died my childhood came rushing back and I told my mother I few home truths and I haven't spoke to her since or most of my brothers and sister, but I just think of my little family now!

fredly · 24/08/2006 14:16

mummymelling, you can get rid of the semen by doing Kegels. You tighten the PC muscles the way you do to stop urine flow. You do that several times a few hours after BD. I did it for the 1st time 3 days ago and it was quite impressive !

Babymad4num3 · 24/08/2006 14:17

cool lol got to try that tick!

mummymelling · 24/08/2006 14:18

You need digital therm it gives a more accurate reading, can use it orally or vaginally, you need to use same method at same time every morn b4 you get out of bed straight after waking, if you use orally keep using the same side of your mouth .... hope this helps

fredly · 24/08/2006 14:20

endlesslove, ear therm are said not to be reliable enough. Digital is best.
Be careful to be consistent with how you take your temp, either in the mouth or vaginally.
