Seeing as the other thread has gotten soooo long (not that I have another ulterior motive ) I thought it's time we moved on here.

* May this thread bring luck to all who post on her *

Let me start by saying that I hope the first definite big fat positive dark blue line here is Bunny !

Kay1 - really feel for you. I know it's difficult. It's almost like having your life on hold as you wait every month to see if your future's going to be different
I know there must come a time when you have to leave it but that's so hard... Is it really something you feel that you have to do or are you just feeling more despondant about it this month? Would you actually have to start using contraception again? That would make it more of a 'full stop' wouldn't it?
(((hugs)))

Azure · 30/03/2004 16:41

Kay1, yes I've still got my spreadsheet going. I am feeling very similar about whether to just give it up. My DH thinks it is probably best to stick to one child now. We are in a nice place now after all the disruption of a baby, and are looking forward to going on nice holidays / doing nice things with DS. Looking on it somewhat negatively, if I became pregnant now there would be four school years between DS and any baby; therefore, four more years before we can take early retirement with kids off our hands. Let alone the expense - we now realise DS is going to be educated privately, as would any no. 2. As Moomin says, the decision to start taking contraception again would be momentous. I wish you well in what ever decision you reach.

ChaCha · 30/03/2004 17:10

Hi everyone! CD30 and no signs of AF, i rushed out to the chemist during my lunch hour to get a PG test (got a clear response) one. Just tested and lo and behold BFN
Now, i have to wait until my consultant returns from holiday to find out why.
I can't take this emotional ride every cycle. Have had enough, DH was convinced I was PG, he looked so happy. I've dissapointed him yet again. Am off to hide under the duvet! Where is my period?

smellymelly · 30/03/2004 20:26

ChaCha sorry.

But if you have no AF then there is still hope....

ChaCha · 30/03/2004 22:00

Gosh, am glad your here Smelly! Was feeling a bit paranoid, (giggle, giggle). NO sign of AF at all, i'm really confused. DH & Mother say it's too early too test. I know its not coz other people have tested earlier. Whats a girl to do?

collision · 30/03/2004 22:07

I tested too early ChaCha and got a neg response and then tested later and it was positive. How soon after bd-ing did you test (or B4 AF was due?)

ChaCha · 30/03/2004 23:29

Thanks Collision (cant believe i'm here at this time of night!) Sunday would have given me the expected 28 day cycle. My consultant told me that the medication i'm on (similar to clomid) would give me 28 days. So as you can see, i'm worried either way. If there is no AF before Thursday i guess i'll test again. Any ideas? I've never had a late period - even when i had the endo, just heavy. TMI, sorry. Am mumbling...off to bed!
Thanks x

Azure · 31/03/2004 09:21

ChaCha it's so disheartening getting a BFN, but don't give up hope just yet. It's a good idea to wait a few days before testing again if AF doesn't come. Fingers crossed.

M2T · 31/03/2004 09:30

ChaCha - YOU haven't disappointed him. He feels disappointed just as you do, please don't blame yourself. Why don't you try a Boots own or 1st Response test. They are very sensitive. And try in the morning too when the HCG levels will be highest. Don't give up hope just yet.....
Fingerscrossed for you and some quiet optimism.

BigBird · 31/03/2004 09:33

chacha - you've not dissapointed anyone ! Keep your chin up. Good luck.

bunny2 · 31/03/2004 09:43

ChaCha, I know hiw disappointing this all is, dont give up hope yet though. Testing on Thursday sounds like a good idea.

smellymelly · 31/03/2004 10:55

ChaCha....you ok, sweetie????

Moomin · 31/03/2004 13:53

After all the good news earlier on seems like a lot of us have missed the target again this month. I felt fine yesterday until I came home from work. Realised I hadn't received a parcel through the post and got myself into an almighty state about chasing it up on the phone. It was only when I was in tears about it I realised how silly I was being and then it hit me that I've got PMT. Just like my periods are like clockwork, my PMT is too - if I'm gonna blow, I blow on the Tuesday night or Wednesday before the Saturday that I'm due on - and this is it. When I realised, I went to bed and cried for half an hour. How pathetic's that? Yes, I know I haven't come on yet but I think it's just a little bit too much to hope that pg hormones have decided to appear dead-on when PMT usually rears its ugly head. So I just have to expect AF on Saturday as usual now, so I don't get disappointed all over again at the weekend .

Hello. Am new to ttc thread. Have been trying for some time for a second baby. Ds is 18mnths old. Have v. irregular cycle and do notovulate very often. Ds was a 'fluke' according to gynae! and sickenly enough, we were not 'trying'!
Due to my weird cycle Gynae told me not to bother with ovulation test kits but I couldn't help myself and went and bought 2 packs at great expense! I waited ages for the tell tale mucus and started testing. Managed to detect my LH surge last thursday evening so think I ovulated on Friday or sAturday?? not sure. So, 13 days after detecting LH surge, is it too early to test?? Have been reading all conception threads and am so confused!! what is the best test to buy? (found out pregnant with Ds i hospital after ovarian cyst rupture). Am thinking I should wait til saturday to be sure but am going away for weekend and want to know before if poss. Saw Gynae last week who took bloods t o check progesterone levels and have not heard anything back (too frightened to phone and ask) and this morning received large parcel of Metformin - loads of tablets which I am to start if AF arrives. I really hope I am pg but dare not tempt fate by talking to anyone about it. But I can talk to you - phew! Also, anyone else out there on Metformin?? how does it affect you? I can't remember what Gynae said exactly about what it does and why - just sat there is a sad daze not quite beleiving I was having to even think about taking them. So much we take forgranted. Feel inspired though reading about your efforts. Thankyou

Azure · 31/03/2004 16:55

Moomin, sorry to hear you're feeling down. I hope your suspicions aren't confirmed - it ain't over until AF comes. I was in tears last week when AF arrived. I'm now in the "getting on with the next month" mode. It's just too difficult.

Padme - welcome to the thread. I hope your stay is a very short one (meant in the nicest possible way, of course!). I'm not great at the technical stuff, I'm afraid. I think that it is possible to test positive from 10 days post ovulation with a First Response kit, but it is more likely from 14 days - often later. Best of luck and keep us posted!

ChaCha · 31/03/2004 19:13

Well ladies, i talked to my consultant this morning (he is out of town this week) and he said i must test again tomorrow. Should also go for scan early next week?!? I am sick with worry and excitement. Its too much for me, i tell you. NO symptoms of AF or PG still. sorry for TMI but have very wet CM (slightly tinged too) does that say anything or am i still obssessing?

Moomin, it's still early days yet isn't it? Fingers crossed, you never know.

Bunny, how's pregnancy?

Smelly, you ok?

ChaCha · 01/04/2004 06:38

Tested at 6.30am.
BFN!

Azure · 01/04/2004 08:32

Chacha - the waiting must be unbearable. Have you booked the scan for next week?

ChaCha · 01/04/2004 08:37

Just sneaking on before work!
Oh Azure, it is killing me! Am calling consultant today as per his request. Hopefully scan on Monday. Fingers crossed pls. Emotional rollercoaster ride!

BigBird · 01/04/2004 09:55

oooh ChaCha - this must be so frustrating.

Padme...13 days after surge is prob 11 or 12 days after ov - I'd give it 2 more days....
Good luck

Hey Moomin - I hope you aren't too down

Hello

This is my first post although i've been lurking for a while.

we're ttc for the 1st time. I'm now cd31, 12dpo - fertilityfriend it telling me to test tomorrow, but that's only 13 dpo, and i'm so nervous! i feel sick, but i'm pretty sure that's the nerves, rather than a symptom.

oh well. time will tell, i suppose!

fingers crossed for everybody.

footstep x

smellymelly · 01/04/2004 10:22

Poor you ChaCha.... It is definitely the not knowing that I found the hardest!! I hope you get good news.

Moomin, Don't want to make things worse butI still get PMT when I'm pregnant, so don't give up till AF is here...

I'm on cd4 now, and we are actually ok, We have decided for now to wait until we get married in July, if I get pregnant now, then we will have to cancel our (2 week) honeymoon at The Red Sea, Egypt (without kids!!).

So will try and wait till then and do lots of b'ding in the sun.

But saying that, we may just start b'ding this month on day 8 or 9 (I had a very short cycle this month) ......ooooh, don't know what to do, we know we should wait, but I'm so worried about delaying it then not being able to fall.

The 2 weeks afterwards waiting to see if it has worked, just 'do my head in' and I feel like I have permanent PMT, so not really condusive to planning a wedding!!

bluestar · 01/04/2004 10:23

ChaCha, you're really going through it right now aren't you. I hope you get an answer one way or the other soon to put your mind at rest. Obviously hope that it is the positive one.
As for me, I got a temp dip yesterday (6DPO) but I wish I would get it between 7-10 days. I always do seem to get a dip on DPO5 or 6, so a bit frustrating although quite frankly it could mean anything!
Moomin, know how you feel. I always get a spot on my chin and when it starts to rear its ugly head, I know af is on the way. Curse those bl**dy spots!
Padme, welcome. Signs look good for you.

smellymelly · 01/04/2004 10:26

Hi Footstep..... Good Luck.

Make sure you test with your 1st morning wee, we'll keep our fingers crossed for you.

smellymelly · 01/04/2004 10:31

Bluestar, what are the temps signs for after conceiving then?.... It sounds as though it is maybe worse temping, as you are looking for more signs.

I had so many signs last month, that I think either I was going mad, or I really did conceive but was one of the 25% who lost it in the 1st 2 weeks.... not that I'm obsessing at all!!!
