The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Bit - but

sebsmummy1 · 19/04/2014 20:30

So had a good day today gadding about with my Mothee and generally being very silly. While I was waiting for AF to arrive and praying she wouldn't I was googling fertility supplements and was reading some good things about Maca root. So went into Holland and Barrett and bought some.

They reckon 1500mg a day, three teaspoons of the powder mixed into food or drink. It's meant to balance and regulate hormones, increase sperm production and make you more horny. So OH and I had some in a smoothie and it tasted fine. He is totally up for taking it so I'm going to make a smoothie in the morning to share and keep my fingers crossed it does something good Grin

Interesting stuff re. Prof Quenby (hope that spelling is right). I don't completely understand what tests they run and how it helps do I need to research it some more. It makes total sense though about the fertility tests making no one feel any better. That's what I was afraid of and I could see it could throw up more questions than it answered. So I'm going to take your advice and not do it.

I am going to have my smear though and talk to the nurse about my abdominal pain. I know I have a fibroid so I wonder if they might want to check it isn't causing me any problems. My periods aren't heavy or painful, it's the week before my period is due that's giving me all the problems.

Carly6971 · 20/04/2014 08:45

Well we missed the big peak day on the cbfm :( hubby got waaaaaay to drunk at a friends party last night that there was no way a quiet bit of tith was happening! So effffing cross with him right now...he knew how important it was! Please tell me my man is not the only one who can be. Complete tosser!!

Viperama · 20/04/2014 08:58

Happy Easter!

Help I am so confused! CD6 my evening cb test gave me a smiley face (this is the non flashing version). Morning and evening test CD7 both negative. Today CD8 and cb test (flashing version) has given me a solid smile so peak fertility day. Never gave me a flashing. I've been using up old stock of the non flashing version and using each version once a day to ensure levels are taken with both monitors. How could it go from low fertility to peak and miss high! I never got a flashing smiley, I paid good money to be flashed ;-)

This is kind of telling me these tests are completely shit and should be a guideline only. Don't rely on them. Grrrrrr. We are going to DTD every day from CD6 to CD20. I'm so annoyed as it might mean relying on tests last few months may of made us miss our chance to catch the golden egg. We def stopped DTD early last month as the monitor said I ov'd early.

Littlelady33 · 20/04/2014 10:23

Hello ladies and happy Easter to all. A question for the wise ladies of this thread...anyone had mid cycle spotting post mc? My first AF arrived approx 30 days after ERPC and all pretty normal. Now on cd 12 with very light brown spotting. This could be pre ov spotting maybe but I've never had this before? Had stronger lines than usual on OPKs but surely it's too early for ov. Any thoughts welcome...?

bessie84 · 20/04/2014 10:53

littlelady since my miscarriage, every single cycle, i have mid cycle bleeding. never ever happened before! maybe ov spotting like you say, ive had such stronger ov pains since mc too.

carly6971 my other half has done this too before, i did not speak to him for days. its not just your man, i think their all fucking simple, they dont realise what they say or do at time and go along in their man world, in their man cave. gggrrrrrrr. make him suffer today ;)

jonesschool i hope your ok, i really do. sending you huge hugs.

xxx

sebsmummy1 · 20/04/2014 12:21

Yep, i spot now before AF, not that early in the cycle though. More three days before on cycle just gone. I think its down to hormones still being up in the air.

Littlelady33 · 20/04/2014 14:42

Thanks Sebs I'm sure that's it. My hormones are a bit all over the place I'm guessing by the random desire to cry in the presence of babies so I'll attribute it to that for now and stop the worrying.

GailLondon · 20/04/2014 15:23

Hey guys,
Checking in from our farm glamping holiday.
Bit chilly over here so we've been cosying up in front of a roaring log fire every night with a glass of vino - so nice!
8dpo here and feeling semi optimistic!

sebsmummy1 · 20/04/2014 16:12

FX for you Gail Grin

Cakebaker35 · 20/04/2014 19:54

Happy Easter everyone, it's been a fun but hectic one here so sorry if I've missed some important news from anyone. Just wanted to say sebs sounds like the Prof is worth investigating but absolutely get that smear done, fish slaps if you don't Smile

gail your glamping trip sounds fabulous, fx for you.

So it's cd6 here and I'm relieved to gave had a pretty textbook first AF since the erpc. Suddenly feeling quite up for ttc again.....but dh not Sad says his head just isn't in the right place yet. Now that's made me impatient when I wasn't before Confused hey ho, not a lot I can do really apart from sit here silently stewing in wine

LittleMissSunshine33 · 20/04/2014 20:21

Happy Easter All!

Ellisisland hope the baby bumps at all these showers rub off on you!

Sebs I love a new supplement I take so many I must rattle when I walk!

Carly I feel your pain before MC my OH was really focused and drank less and DTD as much as poss but since he has seem a lot less interested but I think it all plays on his mind more than I think it does...if that makes sense!

I feel for you English my cycles and OV were like clock work before MC now I am on CD 12 and have had my positive OPK today (very early for me) and no flashing smileys (clearblues) before this one...I hope its not just today otherwise who knows when next BFP/AF is due very confused!!

Seasides · 20/04/2014 21:03

Carly, I know just how you feel! DH and I have had that argument conversation once or twice or a hundred times

sebs, respect for being able to stomach the maca powder. I've got an almost full pot you're welcome to?! Had to switch to pills. I don't know about fertility as we weren't diligent enough about taking them for long enough, but I swear they prevented my jet lag when I went to Oz, I think they do give you more energy.

Sounds like you're having a lovely weekend gail! We've got the fire going here too, so cosy Smile been a nice day up here though, even got the bike out for the first time in 2 years.

So, my symptoms aren't disappearing after all Smile - I'm pretty sure I got my first nausea today - random gagging fit from nowhere - but it's so easy to imagine nausea, I've had it on many a 2ww when it's clearly psychosomatic.

Happy Easter all!

officelady · 21/04/2014 10:14

Happy Monday everyone - I've had to post because this thread has disappeared from my "threads I'm on". I have nothing to report - cd16 but no sign of ov having happened or even being imminent. Bah. Pre mc I usually ov'd on day 12-13. Also I bled very lightly for a couple of hours yesterday - this mid cycle bleeding seems to be the theme for this month! Seriously wtf are my hormones playing at?
I'm carrying on with daily temping and ov tests but I'm running out of tests and might just stick with temping until next af. Keeping up with the alternate days tith as per SMEP too. It's bloody hard work!
seasides - random gagging sounds positive! Deffo a good sign I'm sure Smile

EnglishGirlAbroad · 21/04/2014 11:59

I'm with you there Office... cd18, no positive opk. Ran out of my cbfm sticks so having to rely on ic's. Continuing to temp and every other day of tith as per smep. Really want ovulation to hurry its arse up so i can relax a bit. I seem to be much more stressed before ov than after!!

bythesea82 · 21/04/2014 17:16

Hi all, wanting to join you for some hand holding and slaps where required? Feel like I'm just brave enough to put my head out of the sand again so here we go,

TTC since Dec 2012, mc at 10 weeks nov 13, mc at 11 weeks April 14. Now 1 week post op to remove 10 cm ovarian cyst and they found I only have 1 ovary! This TTC is the gift which keeps on giving!

Obviously my 1 ovary is doing is it's thing but feel a bit thrown by the last 6 months of rollercoastering. Going to jump straight into TTC in a low key way and try and pretend it's no big deal...... Hmm

officelady · 21/04/2014 18:09

Yeeeesss..... good luck with the nonchalant attitude bythesea! I think I recognise your name from the October thread - sorry that you have found yourself here but it's a great place to hide away and chat about all the shit that has been heaped upon us Smile Bad luck at the 1 ovary - I take it you had no idea? I guess at least you know the one you have does work [small consolation icon]
I have been down the pub this afternoon, it was supposed to be a dog walk to the beach but somehow ended up in a beer garden what a shame - then it started raining so I texted dd to come and pick me up in the car. One of the bonuses of being really old and having a 17 year old child! Maybe I should just get her to have a baby, I could pretend it was mine and raise it as my own, like they do on the telly Wink

bessie84 · 21/04/2014 18:13

pmsl at you officelady [:D]

bessie84 · 21/04/2014 18:15

bythesea sorry your here, big hugs, so sorry for your losses. blooming heck! i bet that was a shock!! Good luck with ttc a sticky bean x

newbiefrugalgal · 22/04/2014 01:57

Can I join.
Ttc starts this month. Early mc in late January , which was unmanaged but hoping all ok.
I have had fairly normal af since but oh has been away so it gave the body some time to recover. (Hopefully)
I have a big trip planned for next year so if I'm lucky to conceive then it has to happen in next few months or otherwise we have to have a break. Baby would need to be born or I have to be less than 24 weeks.
And I'm getting close to 40 so time is not on my side
I am lucky I have two great dc but I would really love number three.
No previous mc

bythesea82 · 22/04/2014 09:59

Still chuckling officelady if you decide to make your life into a new soap, keep us informed!!
I was sad to see a few faces from the October thread on here, our time will come soon!
Good luck to all this week Smile

Littlelady33 · 22/04/2014 10:50

Welcome newbie sorry you find yourself here but hope you find the support you need. English sorry to hear that the OPKs are failing to produce results. I think you're doing right to just carry on trying though. My OH isn't convinced that either ics or the more expensive kind for that matter are a good call so have agreed to lay off them completely. He'd rather the every other day approach - despite that running from cd 7 to cd 21. At least he says that for now....

Cakebaker35 · 22/04/2014 13:36

Welcome newbies, sorry you find yourselves here, may your stays be short and sweet.

office brilliant, sounds like the ideal afternoon to me

Soooo we've finally managed to tith after having the erpc just over a month go, was all quite emotional actually but glad to be back in the saddle so to speak! I don't think it could be considered ttc as I was only on cd6 but just relieved and immediately felt like we were getting on better after, I think both of us had been overthinking things and just needed to follow the advice on here which was wine is your friend and go for it, so thank you ladies Smile

bythesea I'm with you and very very much trying to take the relaxed approach but it's so hard when you know exactly which cd you are, I wish I could go back to the innocent days pre mmc but hey it's not to be. Anyway this month is definitely a non opk/planning/stressing month, I'm determined! And then I'll probably be bonkers and back to all that next month Blush
