In order to join the BESH you MUST be over 30 and TTC for baybee no. 1 for over a year, be ok with swearing, shout CUNT at the world on a daily basis and howling at the moon should be a regular occurrence. BESHtionnaires must be submitted - no admittance allowed without it (we just want to snigger at your lesbian crush - it's true).

Revised BESHtionnare for reference

  1. Do you like gin? (This is compulsory, you must say 'Yes')

  2. Men - are you a gold digger or a cradle snatching cougar?

  3. Baybee-making - to put a baybee in your tumtum, which hole do you use:
    a) weewee
    b) poopoo
    c) foofoo
    d) none, you just pray to the baby Jebus.

  4. Testing - when someone wonders if they should test for updiff (pg), do you:
    a) bellow 'POAS!' at them non-stop and punch them repeatedly in the kidneys till they wet themselves anyway.
    b) Sprinkle them with babydust and send them hugs and kisses on lickle baby angel wings.

  5. Is R2D2:
    a) an adorable robot from Star Wars.
    b) the source of all evil.

  6. Number of pets?

  7. Inappropriate (read: weird) crush of shame?

  8. Lesbian crush?

  9. How much money have you spent on sticks you then urinate on?
    a) Oh nothing, I'll probably catch first time and then get the doctor to confirm it.
    b) Over 100 quid
    c) I opened an account on ebay solely for the purpose of purchasing sticks

  10. Which of these sentences is appalling:
    a) Off to see the consultant today!!! So excited!!!!!
    b) Gud luck hun sprinkling babydust for ya lol xxx
    c) both of the above

  11. How barren are you?
    a) childless and TTC for at least one year
    b) one child and TTC #2 for at least two years
    c) I've been trying for 2 cycles and the wait is driving me mad!

If (c) then the BESH is not the thread for you.

Thank you Hags

Dorothy Rain yes i took clomid - 4th round after a break of 4-5 months. But I also had a laparoscopy in January and they found and removed mild endometriosis. I think that has definitely helped. And who knows, maybe the clomid gave me an added boost.

I just told MG to come into thr bathroom where I, in tears, shoved the test in his face.

Celebratory dinner

FizzyFeet · 05/05/2014 07:42

eurochick · 05/05/2014 09:50

Bloody hell fankle. That's great news! Grin

Sorry for the missing Droid, frog. Maybe he is out celebrating Star Wars weekend?

MissHobart · 05/05/2014 10:21

Fankle - How's it going today?! Is this your first ever BFP?! It's very exciting! I hope you have the most boring pregnancy ever let the menkul begin Wink

We will now be living vicariously though you so keep us updated! Grin

CuntyChops · 05/05/2014 12:01

Barking - that is pretty shit! I don't have any suggestions for speeding things along. Mine always seems to get going just when I allow myself to start feeling hopeful that it might be 'our month.' Fucker.

Grin
barkingtreefrog · 05/05/2014 17:46

Still no AF and blood tests show baseline but have to go for another scan tomorrow morning.

But in better news I've accepted the new job! Grin . No more 7-6 in the classroom and working evenings and weekends for me!!!! Grin Grin . Office 9-5 for the first time in my working life!

Fabuluce · 05/05/2014 18:11

Yay for the job frog that's so exciting!!

Fankletastic · 05/05/2014 18:17

I posted a reply earlier but it clearly didn't work...lame countryside internet connection!

Tree congratulations on the potentially life enhancing career change. I think Cunty said you could always go back to teaching later on if you want to. Sorry to hear the effing droid hasn't turned up yet. Could it be the long flights messing up your cycle? That tends to happen to me. You may have ovulated much later than you thought...?

I had a lovely day cycling in the Derbyshire countryside. We'd planned an outdoorsy weekend and that is what we had! I feel fine ----. Only sore boobs at the moment.

MissH - it's my 2nd bfp. The last one was in December 2011 and ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks in January 2012. So this is a bloody long time coming! I was seriously starting to doubt it would ever happen and had just booked in for iui starting in July!

I'm not a teller but I would like to tell my mum...once I'm past the 7-8 week point (that was when it all went tits up last time). If only to put her out of her praying misery- bless her faithful soul, she has been doing some novena to the patron saint of babies (or something) for the last 2 years!

MG has to go away for the rest of the week tonight so I will mainly be trying not to menkul. I'm under strict instructions to keep him updated on everything and not drink too much coffee...or do excessive cleaning using bleach! Yup. That is what he said. Bless him. It's lovely to see him so happy and being all protective.

Hags- thank you for the ritual fertility nipple shimmies and cunt bunting. I'm feeling very honoured...

Fish wallops ahoy .

cletterthedishes · 06/05/2014 18:44

Congratulations fankle!!! Fantastic news Smile

I'll hold a toe for you

TheRainDrops · 06/05/2014 19:05

I am seriously weirded out by feet but I can offer plentiful elbow holds instead?

That is some wait you've endured fankle - was BFP #1 a shorter process?
I think I'd want to tell my Mum too next time - we kept it quiet last time till the MC but she was such a rock I think I'd want her to know next go round.

barkingtreefrog · 06/05/2014 19:09

I'm bleeding! Grin And I've just done my first injection! .

I feel like I need a sticker. Why don't they give you a sticker? Like when you used to go to the dentist and come out with a sticker saying 'I was a brave girl'. I want one now Hmm .

FizzyFeet · 06/05/2014 20:33

Well done, frog!

All systems go, eh?

Fabuluce · 06/05/2014 20:34

Hey Frog well done and well done. Have a good girl plaster from me Smile in a couple of weeks time you'll be really blasé about it (not to mention you may have a bruise or two) and self stabbing will be just another thing you'd never thought you'd add to your repertoire but now feel strangely fulfilled Wink

Fankletastic · 06/05/2014 20:35

At last! Glad it finally started and you can get going with the drucks.

Rain bfp #1 only took 3 months. I never thought it would take this long to get upduffed again. Feel quite drained with all the effort and worry of the last 26 months. Just want to savour this feeling until the menkul kicks in

Dishy thanks. How are you doing?

How are all the rest of you Hags?

I went for woo needles today. Had booked it the other week and toyed with the idea of cancelling...but apparently it can help with blood flow to the uterus in early diffment. She's also given me two little seed things which are stuck on the bony bit of my ears with tape. Apparently if I feel tense or worried I am to give them a squeeze and it will do something woo to release endorphins or summat. That's all very nice and reassuring but I keep forgetting they are there, scratching my ears and thinking 'fuck! That's a huge lump of wax'

barkingtreefrog · 06/05/2014 21:05

Aw, shucks, thanks hags

fankle I had one of those things - it was a little round plaster with a tiny metal ball in it - my physio gave it to me (he's into acupuncture as well).

I'm trying to plan tomorrow's Numeracy lesson but so far I've googled IUI stuff, gone on online banking and paid the dog walker, perused MN, emailed a mate's fiance some 'Mr & Mrs' questions for her hen do, been to the corner shop for chocolate, eaten said chocolate, and been nowhere near my Numeracy planning. Now I just want to go to bed... I definitely made the right choice to accept the new job - can't wait until my evenings aren't full of work avoidance activities!!

TheRainDrops · 06/05/2014 21:26

barking have a "I'm a brave stabber" sticker and a shoulder punch for your dedicated efforts today!

fankle oof, that sounds rough. Here's hoping the 26m wait was for your womble to reach it's optimum level of baybee readiness and now it's going to be a baybee popping scatter gun for ever and ever amen.

Less than 2 months till our FC appt now with two holidays and lots of fun weekends in between deliberately glosses over the EDD stuck in the middle. Helps to measure these things in chunks so as not to go totally deranged in the wait I think.
That's two chances for a ironidiff, but I'm not holding my breath (although we've given it our best shot this month for ages, I can barely walk straight).

Had a text from a good friend yesterday asking me how I am. She knows about my MC and that we've been trying for 2 years (she herself has had her first baby in that time Envy). Haven't seen her for quite a long time as she lives a long way away and no idea what to reply with. Texts are shit anyway but I am sure all she wants to read is a 'fine thanks, how are you?' when I'd really sort of quite like to just lay the whole lot bare for her. I won't, but I'd like to. I find the whole 'how are you' thing quite infuriating!

CuntyChops · 07/05/2014 16:50

Well done Barking! Have a sticker for being so spesh! Seriously though, that's pretty brave. I'm a total wimp with injections and respect anyone who can stab themselves.

Fankle - I had the seeds in the ear thing too, but worried that I looked like a complete mental case with the amount of time I spent pressing my ears!

Rain - Fingers crossed for ironidiff for you. "How are you?" really is an infuriating question isn't it?! That's why it's so good to have a place like this to let of steam without the need for social graces. Or polite language!

I've started conversations with my boss about giving up some of my responsibility at work in an effort to be less stressed. It'd be pretty shit, but then so is being childless and I know which one I'd rather have. Looking forward to relaxing with some needle-woo tomorrow as well Smile
