Anyone want to join me?

I'm 36 yo, ttc #1 and very excited about it. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time but it took me a while to find mr right!

l know I am no spring chick so I have some anxieties around that but I am trying to do everything right (eating well, exercising, cutting out alcohol/caffeine etc) and I want to start off optimistic :) am a seasoned pessimist/worrier!

Have been tracking my cycle for a good while. My periods are pretty regular and I thought I could feel my ovary twinging (strongly) when it wad supposed to. This has synched with positive opks so I guess I will soon be starting my first 2ww.

Your very welcome jbee 1979 :)

No i Don't think mine would take them either tbh and they are expensive and yes very big. oh bless him, yes mines like that doesn't see the need for intervention.

Ok I keep a diary (an actual paper one lol) and track it all there, including cm (cervical mucas) as this can be an indication of ovulation, to try and see a pattern emerge and establish a cycle, as i have been on the pill for so long. Seeing it all written down does create a clearer picture.

I also make a note of when we dtd and my opks (ovulation prediction kits) results. I get what many are calling internet cheapies (I.C) from ebay, you can get a bundle of about 20 or mixed with preg test for a few pounds and free p&p. I plan (except dtd and start-end of period) to only note these things for a few months so i can establish my cycle and where ovulation falls roughly each month. Then try and relax a bit more.

There are many apps where you can log all the above, the most talked about is fertility friend. I believe you also have to temp as well (I don't do this) and read a blog on how this app made the blogger obsessed so not sure about that one! Lol. Maybe you could look the app up and then decide for yourself. Heres the link to the blog

Wishing you lots of baby dust and to all on here and good luck

hi ladies! hope theres room for another one :-)

TTC #1, cycle 3 after 10+ years on microgynon/cilest, 29 years old...

still loving being pill-free. amazing not being on hormones and i feel im rediscovering myself! But... first cycle 42 days, second, 32 days... argh... waiting waiting waiting. today is CD15 and DTD, no idea if ovulating but timing seems right. xmas baby anyone? :p

Netcat · 08/04/2014 08:44

Thamrin- I know what you mean about not being on the pill anymore, took the last one on 6th March. I am 35 and had been taking it for 16 years. I am loving not taking hormones anymore, my skin is looking great! I am now on a daily pill of pregnacare conception with folic acid- much better. TTC#1 cycle 1, so all pretty new for me. Are you using a period tracker app? They will estimate your cycle and ovulation dates once you have input three consecutive cycles, so that might help?

BlondeAtHeart29 · 08/04/2014 10:43

Hi all,

Another newbie here :-) you might have to bear with me with all these abbreviations for a while! TTC #1, so excited! came off the pill last August after being on it continuously for about 12 years, I naively thought I'd get pregnant really soon, but it's obviously taking its time. Periods are somewhat unreliable, they have been every six weeks or so since August, it's been 8 1/2 since my last one though. not helpful! But hopefully good news soon :-)

tashalou · 08/04/2014 10:47

Hi I'm another newbie ttc! Good luck to everyone! Wink

cooperbug · 08/04/2014 16:09

Hi, can I join too?

We have just started ttc #1, haven't started to use opk's yet but think that I ovulated on cd 14 or 15 (last Monday 31st march), we were away for the weekend and dtd fri, sat, sun and Monday!

Got my fingers crossed for a Bfp but I feel that I am going to come on, can't stop thinking about it though. Today I am approx 8 or 9 dpo with no symptoms.

How soon should I test?

cooperbug · 08/04/2014 16:12

By the way I came off the pill in December and my skin is worse for it, very spotty around my chin and forehead!

Hope it settles down soon

Brummiegirl15 · 08/04/2014 17:08

Hey ladies. Can I join?? I'm 37 so bit older too - again took forever to find my wonderful DP.

We are TTC #1 for the first time this week and it's scary times!!! Will await through the tww anxiously as not due until very end of April. Not expecting much but secretly hoping anyway

Good luck everyone

broodyhen2014 · 08/04/2014 17:25

Im 20 and TTC #1 been trying for 5 months now anyone else like me ??

tashalou · 08/04/2014 17:30

I've only been off pill4 weeks noticing better skin etc but my boobs are painful a lot did anyone else get this?

hoarseoldfrog · 08/04/2014 17:55

Hi everyone. I came off the pill 3 weeks ago, my first real period should be here in the next week.... I am going mad, have convinced myself I am already upduffed! Think its very easy to trick yourself into seeing signs.... Is it actually possible to conceive so quick? Pretty sure I ovulated due to signs. Will just haveto watch this space, good luck all

LadesC · 08/04/2014 20:55

Hey all... Anyone tried the clearblue dual hormone testers? Im now on cd15 and have had 5 days of a flashing face but no solid face. Cycle is 28 days on the nose so had thought I might have ov'd by now, or at least had the solid face which i thought happened 1-2 days before ov.

All this dtd is getting exhausting and im only 2 months in Wink !!

sammyj85 · 09/04/2014 17:36

Hi, could I join? Been lurking for a while but I can get a bit obsessive so have been keeping out of it! Ttc #1 cycle 2 and on day 28. No sign yet but I'm not holding much hope!

Hope everyone is doing ok! X

Lk265 · 10/04/2014 19:42

Welcome everyone! So lovely to come back to the thread and see lots of new people.
I am 3-4 days away from my period and anxiously waiting to know if its a yes or no! I said in my last post I was really like feeling heavy and bloated kinda like my period was coming for several days, that's gone now and I woke up to really bad cramps 2 days ago but otherwise I feel normal so I am thinking its just a negative....a few days will tell....just gotta calm down on looking at nursery pictures on pinterest....lol.

Coming off contraceptives is an amazing feeling when you notice the change, we get so used to it thinking that's normal and then without its like HUH!! oh yeah this is what I used to feel like!!

impatientlywaiting14 · 10/04/2014 23:34

Hi Lk265

I am 2 Days away from mine. Don't think i caught it this month as i was staying away from home at time of ovulation, unless i ovulated earlier or later than i thought? I don't really feel the coming on symptoms yet, could just be where my bodys just adjusting to coming off the pill. Wont get my hopes up to much. I have a pin interest board not added anything on recently though trying keep mind busy .

Yes I must say coming of bc is liberating lol. I was worried id be all the place with my hormones at first but not been too bad at all really .

Keeping my fingers crossed for you and all on this board :)

xxxx

patienceisvirtuous · 10/04/2014 23:36

ChandlersFarang · 11/04/2014 04:30

Having silently read posts on here for a month or so,it's probably time to actually say hello!

I came off the pill at Christmas, took 3 months to get my first natural BFP, now on day 15 of my first cycle TTC! Aiming for success via tons of very fun BDing with a very up-for-babies DH, and one of those clear blue monitors, as I love a gadget. Complication is that I live in Bangkok at the moment,so have very little access to my usual UK advice and chums!! That's where I'm hoping you guys come in Grin
Good luck everyone...

Lk265 · 12/04/2014 15:18

Due AF today.....see what happens!

ChandlersFarang....completly understand your feelings about feeling far away from UK health advice/nhs etc....I've been living in Malawi last 4 years , but moved back to the UK recently and when your far away, you feel the need to know even more than usual what the UK take is on certain medical questions!

Good luck everyone!!

impatientlywaiting14 · 12/04/2014 17:30

Hi LK265

Im due AF today too keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

Hi Chandlers Farang
Welcome and hope you find chatting on here helpful. Did you mean in your post after coming off the pill its took 3 months to get first natural Af (Aunt flow)? good to hear you oh is on board :) Sorry to hear you feel far away hope those on here make you feel a little closer to home
Fingers crossed for you and all on here
xxx

Lk265 · 12/04/2014 21:30

Good luck impatientlywaiting! Let's hope our AF's don't come!!

I impatiently did a pregnancy test tonight with hubby - negative....but staying hopeful it could still be positive as it is a bit early.....bit optimistic! Will see if AF comes....

BrickPhone · 13/04/2014 04:36

Hello everyone, ChandlersFarang you've inspired me to stop lurking and start commenting too, I live in China and find it hard to talk about something so personal as TTC with friends back home via email or skype, it isn't the same as face to face! Better to go anonymous and talk to strangers instead Hmm
I came off the pill in Oct but we avoided TTC for the first 4 months, and having had a lot of business travel lately we haven't been able to get our timing right. AF due in 4 days, doubt this month is the one so keeping my fingers crossed and legs uncrossed for May!!! Good luck to all of you!

patienceisvirtuous · 14/04/2014 08:44

How's everyone doing? Do we have any BFPs yet??

I am on cycle #2, just entered my 2ww it's been a busy week :o

I don't think I can rely on cm, I don't really get much, and when I did it was earlier in month which didn't tally with my OPKs Confused

Anyway, I had a dream I had a baby last night which never happens so I'm hoping it was a premonition :o

hi chandlersfarang & brickphone i am based in indonesia it is definitely not the greatest place as far as healthcare is concerned.

TTC#1 cycle 3 and also feel the scared/lost/wide eyed & naive feeling of being abroad during something i really have no idea about... unfortunately my health insurance company are pretty useless also so not much help or advice from there either... anyway, couldnt say life wasnt an adventure huh!

impatientlywaiting14 · 14/04/2014 09:55
