Lil - I have been spotting for my whole tww so far. Fed up with it and no idea why. I hate spotting!

Lindsay81 · 09/04/2014 21:19

Hey sazzle :-) Nice to hear you are positive about the CBFM. My friend just gave me hers which I will reset and start using next cycle.
When you say it helped you know when to DTD, obviously you mean around ovulation but I wondered what sort of days worked for you? Like the day of your OPK+ and the day after, or EOD or whatever?

I hate to "schedule" but Even a couple of days in a row can be a bit much for us with our jobs and travelling etc!

victoria401 · 09/04/2014 21:43

lil I don't want to freak you out but I had spotting from my scan on cd21 until I got af. A whole 6 days, with mild cramps yes. I usually getting spotting 3 or 4 days prior to af. It was a spotty tho as had spotting cd17 too for no apparent reason. I called radiology and they said it was "highly unlikely" to have been caused by scan. No one else on this site that's had it said they got anything at all so I don't really know, sorry :-(

sazzle I get ov pains every month then I appear to always have a 14 day LP. The first 12month or so I was having 27-29 day cycles with ov pains around 13-16. I can't really remember when we were dtd as I wasn't keeping tabs back then. We were being relaxed about it.Its only since Sept I've become neurotic! We prob start dtd around day 12? Last month I know I ovd early on cd12 coz of pain and then 26day cycle but we dtd from cd10. This month we started on cd9.

lil1ady · 09/04/2014 23:41

thanks everyone. Jesse I hope the spotting stops for u Sad

sazzle its good to hear positive opinion on cbfm. its the baine of my life ATM, but I have longer cycles so 20sticks a month is a bore!
Victoria i read online that it can cause it if it hits the cervix as there are a lot of blood vessels in it. its the only logical explanation for this for me as I never get it. spotting was minimal and barely noticeable. its stopped now but the cramps are still there. and I know its not ovulation based on yesterdays scan!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 10/04/2014 09:50

Playing Scramble in a caravan sounds like a sure fire way to get knocked up victoria! Wink Where are you going on your holiday? have you had a -ve opk yet? Perhaps you do need to start dtd a bit earlier if AF buggers off early enough for you, I've read the first 4 days before ov and 2 days after are the most fertile, but hopefully you will have caught it this month on cd9!
They are really promising results Lindsay. I am on cd28 today, so unheard of for me! Every minute I swing from thinking AF is on her way any minute, to I have messed up my cycles to maybe I am pregnant! I did a test yesterday at 10dpo, but BFN. I know I'll get in trouble for symptom spotting but my boobs have been quite sore, although it has eased off a bit today, and I have been feeling angry and emotional the past few days! Had a few twinges and cramps in my lower tummy too. Not symptoms at all really I suppose! It could go either way! Confused

What more does the CBFM do that you don't get from Ov sticks then? Do you POAS every day with it?

Absy · 10/04/2014 10:22

Hey everyone. Sorry again for only stopping by quickly.
I have a question. So I have pcos so periods are a bit all over the place (between 27 and 39 days but typically 28 to 33). However, normally I ovulate on around day 14. This month, i tested positive on day 16 (so I think I actually ovulated on around day 17). This morning (day 25), I started getting some cramping and have had some (so far) light bleeding. This would mean that I've had the shortest cycle ever, and a luteal phase of just over a week.
Any views on whether this could be implantation bleeding or a good old fashioned period? I seriously hope it's not the second as DH and I only kind of finished recovering from last month's disappointment I really can't face going through it again this soon.

victoria401 · 10/04/2014 10:53

Can't really help absy as no experience in implant bleeds. Fingers crossed that it is though :-)

ginger lets hope your symptoms are promising too :-)

I don't know what is normal for opks as first month. Started them on cd9 and there was faint line, there was even a very faint line on cd6 but that was day af buggered off too. Faint line but progressively darker 10 and 11. The cd11 wasn't exactly the same as the control line but not too far off. Tested yesterday (cd12) and absolutely utterly neg, nothing at all, gone. And so much for the smep plan. Dtd the deed cd9 and 11 only. Prob should have yesterday and will prob kick myself for not making dh for evermore....

Jessewalt · 10/04/2014 11:51

Mama where are you? I am needing some spotting moral support. How are you? Xx

Lindsay81 · 10/04/2014 13:02

Hi victoria This is pretty much what I get. Sometimes its as dark or darker than the control line but a lot of times I am obviously testing just before it reaches its peak and catch it as you say, nearly as dark as the control line. I would take yesterday as your OPK+ which means you will likely O today or tomorrow. So all is well! :-) Plenty of time today and tomorrow for baby-making, I would say.

Lindsay81 · 10/04/2014 13:03

Oooh, sorry victoria, I meant take CD11 as your OPK+, if it was negative yesterday. So BD today you would likely still catch it and DTD CD9 and 11 sounds good!

victoria401 · 10/04/2014 15:24

Worried that we didn't dtd last night! I had ov pain yesterday and still have it today, maybe stronger! But it was cd11 and the most pos opk that I had gallons of cm! tmi I've not felt as much yesterday or today. Must grab DH later for one last desperate go at it!

victoria401 · 10/04/2014 15:27

Oh also last month I had pains on cd12-13 and we BD on 10 and 12 and no pg :-( I do have a sneaky suspicion that when dh gets his SA it will show something wrong as it should have happened by now :-(

mama31 · 10/04/2014 15:39

Jesse I'm here! Been keeping a low profile, trying to not obsess this cycle and it is helping. Haven't done opks and feeling happy with that! We have dtd every day since cd7 (apart from last night but dtd this morning) now on cd14 so all bases are covered and we will probably keep going another few days.

Giving it our best shot and enjoying it also ;) only had one mechanical shag, as I was tired but aside from that it's been fun!

Jesse the dreaded spotting, I hate it so much! And I know it won't be long before mine starts again....but have lots of plans over the next 2 wks so I am keeping busy and won't be overthinking things in the 2ww for the first time ever! also no early testing and have no preg tests purchased! Hoping I can just forget about it all and get on with life until such a time when af hasn't turned up then I will test obviously!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, I'm trying to relax and forget about it so not checking in too often but I will check in on you all.

So stop stressing and keep shagging- that's my new motto!

m33r · 10/04/2014 15:46

Good to see you mama and a good attitude. AF got me today on cd 33 so had my hopes up. NOT happy as, unless I get upduffed this month, I'll have AF on holiday. Rage!!!

Not sure what to do this month. Was thinking of doing nothing from now til ivf but now thinking I'll do vits, opks, grapefruit and preseed but I just don't know the right thing to do. I just don't know...

Hope everyone is well.

mama31 · 10/04/2014 16:00

Awh M33R no!!!! How annoying for you. I am not stressing but I am definately not slacking on effort, dtd often as possible, and making it fun rather than a task, drank grapefruit juice up to cd11 (then ran out), epo (til cd12), pregnacare vits, maca (til cd12), vitex (2 a day). Also started eating pineapple core from cd12 will eat it for 6 days. DH on wellmans. Waiting on SA results- he's going to ring next week to see if he can get them.

who knows if any of this stuff works, I'm just giving it a good old go! Can't do any harm :)

Hope your doing ok M33R. Get a bottle of wine and some chocs or any other little indulgence you might like x

ImaginaryHat · 10/04/2014 17:55

Oh no m33r, sorry af showed up, she's such a bitch. Hope you're doing ok.

jesse I feel your pain on the spotting. I've had it from 5/6 dpo for the past 3 months, 7dpo at the moment and not got any yet, I'm fecking delighted even though I don't think I'm preg, how sad is that! Been getting pre af twinges since 3dpo though so don't think it'll be long before it starts. Sorry I can't remember, do you usually get it or is it unusual for you? I guess having it for the while 2ww is unusual anyway? I've got gp appt on Tuesday to ask about it so I will let you know what she says. Chin up chuck Flowers

absy I've not experienced implantation bleeding but the timing sounds about right, fingers crossed for you.

Mama nice to see you, sounds like you've been dtd like crazy, good work!

Jessewalt · 10/04/2014 18:06

Thanks imaginary. I usually get a few days, nothing like this. In fact, I may have had an anovulatory cycle this month. Feeling pretty blue today, but new to just keep going and hopefully next month won't be as bad as this xx

ImaginaryHat · 10/04/2014 19:44

Yeah I think that's the right way to look at a bad cycle. Just try and power on through the best you can, and hope for a better one next month!

Absy · 10/04/2014 19:56

Well, I've done a test and negative. I'll see. Extensive googling has shown that it can sometimes be a week later or so that you'd actually test positive if it is implantation bleeding. I dread telling DH; he'll be so upset. It's been pretty rough. I thought I'd got the pcos under control, my periods had evened out, ovulation was very regular and then for no apparent reason it's all over the place again. For him, he's had issues with morphology and every test he does, the results are worse.

We have an appointment with a fertility clinic (finally! stupid GP referred us to a gynaecologist to have tests - we'd done them privately - just to have the gynae say within 5 minutes "you shouldn't have been referred to me, you should be sent to a fertility clinic". Other doctors just don't come back to us or return calls) so we'll see. Dh spoke to a friend of his who took two years to conceive his first. He had something called varicocele, where there a varicose type veins on the scrotum, and once that was fixed, his GF fell pregnant the next month. I just want something to happen. We've just had a few weeks where it feels like everyone around us is falling pregnant or having babies and it's so hard. We went all hermity one weekend, just cancelled on everyone and hid out at home as we couldn't face finding out about another pregnancy.

On the funny side, one not very bright friend now thinks DH is afraid of babies, as he walks away every time one comes near him. That cracks me up

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 10/04/2014 20:50

Nice to see you back mama! You really are throwing everything at it this time!! That is my plan for next month too, off to do a bulk order on Amazon of Maca powder, Wellman vits and a BBT thermometer, and lots of grapefruit juice!
AF just got me tonight I think, must have been because I was thinking of POAS in the morning! Well at least it gives me a near perfect cycle of 28 days with a 11 day LP, nice to see the B6 is working. Some Wine with me m33r? Sorry the witch turned up for you too Angry

Absy hoping it is IB for you, I think it would be too early to get a positive if it was, so fingers crossed for you. Have you got the date of your appointment?
Sorry to all of those of you with spotting, how bloody frustrating it must be. Are you trying out any AC or B6?
victoria I've never gotten what they call a +ve on the ICs, but when using them in conjunction with CB ones, a gradually darkening line is the same as a positive! Big fingers crossed for you this month.

I think trying to keep our heads up and moving on to the next cycle is the best we can do. The fresh feeling of optimism at the start of the next cycle, and a 'throwing everything at it this cycle' attitude is a good one to adopt, but the sad days and the angry days are going to happen, I find if I let myself have a good cry when I feel I need it does help, I just can't think too far into the future as that is what scares me the most.

I am currently drinking some Port to cheer myself up, only alcohol we have in the house! Grin

Absy · 10/04/2014 21:21

29th. When we booked it felt like YEARS away, but now it's looming.

ImaginaryHat · 10/04/2014 21:34

Spoke too soon, spotting has started this eve, really thought I might make it to 8dpo but I suppose 7dpo is better than 5dpo last month.

My focus for next month is going to be super healthy eating and lots of exercise, and maybe the vitex. Might get hubby on some vitamins too.

ginger I have a bottle of port in the cupboard that's not been opened, I've never had it before, what's it like?!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 10/04/2014 21:48

Not too long to wait then Absy! By the time Easter is over with it will soon be here.
Ah gutted for you Imaginary. I would reccommend going with vitex or B6, it improved my LP from 7 to 11 days, I just took 50mg of B6 every morning.
The port is delicious! It's like sweet red wine, so if you like red wine I'm sure you will like it, crack it open!! There was only one glass left in our bottle...all gone now Sad!

ImaginaryHat · 10/04/2014 22:20

Thanks ginger, I will give it a go over the weekend, yum! B6 is my sworn enemy after previous attempts with it but might give the vitex a go next cycle!

lil1ady · 10/04/2014 23:26

hi everyone. hoping some of your positivity can rub off on me as I'm feeling like I just can't be arsed with ttc this month. I'm fed up of irregular cycles, fed up of all the waiting, and fed up of all the uncertainty. I used to get plenty of cm but the last couple of months its all but gone. probably because I've not been drinking as much water so need to get back to that as well as getting back to the diet Sad and u keep telling myself I will exercise but I swear I'm allergic!
not a red wine drinker so think I'll skip the port, but could do with a nice chilled bottle of rose about now!
