The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

seaside sorry the witch got you.

sundance did you test again? waiting for your news !

Thank you everyone fr the support and advice. It turned out not too bad after all. The last time when I was miscarrying I had to go to EPU by myself (and I was bleeding heavily - they asked me to do a urine test and it was streaked with blood). Thiis time it was better with DH being there (though he kept looking at his watch and checking the BB).....

Thankfully it is not an ectopic - relief. They could see the sac in the uterus but no embryo. They suggested waiting to see in case something develops - though I'm positive that given how far along I am and with my low HCG that this is unlikely. So probably will be a blighted ovum case. Anyway so I have been sent back and am now waiting it out to see if natural mc takes its course (or some miracle), otherwise I go back in 2 weeks time and will probably go for an ERPC then. hollyben it is as you say, they are probably hoping things will take care of themselves naturally and hence don't want to take action now, even though its looking like a lost cause.

penguin that should be enough. This cycle when we fell pg, dh was very busy at work, so we had tith ONCE - yes once. I haven't mentioned this before because i was soo embarassed of admitting it, as everyone else is following SMEP.

haha i love it - ovulation eyes....

Parsley2506 · 10/03/2014 18:10

Ovulation eyes, that's a keeper! Explains the inappropriate dream I had about younger work colleague at the weekend! Poor old MrP - he knows he's my dreamboat in reality!!

Triple, well done for getting through today. You're a brave lady!

Sundance? Any news?

Also, anyone seen the lovely Sal, or Doctor come to that? And where's otters?

OP posts:
Penguin13 · 10/03/2014 18:18

Glad to hear it wasn't ectopic but sorry you're stuck in limbo land for a while longer Triple. It's good that they want to be absolutely sure if it's not a viable pregnancy but sucks for you.

Well gosh sebs this has all happened so fast, I mean. ...Hells yeah. Come obsess with me cycle buddy! Also American stylish high five for the OPK!! All aboard the TITH express Grin

Penguin13 · 10/03/2014 18:21

*style (autocorrect grumble grumble grumble)

EnglishGirlAbroad · 10/03/2014 18:30

Well done for getting through was was a shitter of a day Triple. I hope your body plays game and passes it naturally and pain free. Sending you a big hug.

Yay for the positive OPK Sebs!! Mine is well and truly mythical!! Cd 20 still nothing! Beginning to think this is goons be an anovulatory cycle! Never had this late ov. Fucking body! Oh well, we have had loads if tith regardless so with a bit of luck it may have just done some good.
I've become a crazy lady, I know it only takes one time but I just keep thinking what if this is meant to be the day that catches the egg... And pester DH anyway!!
Sorry the bitch got you seasides, but hopefully the timing will work in your favour for next cycle!

Littlelady33 · 10/03/2014 18:35

Triple well done for getting through today and thinking of you. English I know it's frustrating but you know for me OPKs have failed every time - including when I had every symptom of ov and definitely ovd because we conceived! Through that whole time I had a negative daily (or twice daily...). So although the positives are a sure sign (and great to see them!) you may still be in luck this cycle and your surge just not be quite when you expect it in the day?

miserywaterfall · 10/03/2014 18:51

Hugs for you triple

sebsmummy1 · 10/03/2014 19:17

English I wonder whether you've ovulated and the monitor just hasn't picked up on it. You can generally tell if a cycle is anovulatory as you will start spotting before AF is due and the bleeding IME is far heavier than normal, though it can also be a lot lighter than normal. If you end up getting AF at the time you expect it and it's a normal flow for you I would say the monitor was just being shit and next cycle back it up with some ICs in the afternoon too.

Sundance2007 · 10/03/2014 19:23

Hi ladies.
Firstly, well done on getting through today triple, big hugs, you must be exhausted you poor thing. I hope that whatever happens next is as quick and pain free as possible, just know that we're all thinking of you.

So my news....I got another, very very faint second line today. Not being overly pessimistic of course but not ruling out a chemical yet as i would have expected a more definitive second line by now. I spent most of the weekend trying not to burst into tears, the shear panic and fear has set in...if I am pg then it's going to be 12 weeks of terror!!

Incidentally, with all the stuff that went on this last month (my gynae appt, DH being away etc), we only DTD 3 times this month...3 days from the first day I got a positive opk. However, some of you might remember, I also had a go with the guaifenesin too, taking it about a week before ov. It may have just worked!

Carly6971 · 10/03/2014 19:30

Evening all :)

triple so sorry for your crap day! our epu also sits us with the happy preggers, infacts last Monday when I was having a scan to make sure all had finally passed we could hear the baby's heartbeats on the scans...I was sobbing, ppl must have thought I was mad!

I have a quick question, due to having no idea when af will show I have been using ic ov tests which I never do, have had no test line or only squinters for 2 weeks but today and yesterday had really clear test lines, still not as dark as control line. I rarely get ewcm and don't temp so nothing else to rely on, although I did break my rule of no posh opks this month and poa cb digi this morning but was neg :( anyways enough rabbiting my question is....do ic lines progressively get darker in the lead up to ov or are these just 2 random days with darkish lines?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 10/03/2014 20:37

I've been doing opks in the afternoon too and nada! Will just have to sit it out I guess. If it is anovualtory will af come on time? Or be late??
I did start taking Vitex...... Do you think that could have played a part. I've stopped it now, worried its fucked my cycle further. Hmm

sebsmummy1 · 10/03/2014 20:52

I have been taking the cough syrup too. Not sure if it helped but I did produce a lot of EWCM this month. TTC sex is so ridiculous isn't it. We've just got jiggy but I find when I care about if my OH comes or not I have a much worse time than when I don't give a shit and concentrate on myself lol. I will be much happier incredibly grateful if I could just get knocked up and go back to having sex when we both have the horn. I feel like a perfotm

sebsmummy1 · 10/03/2014 20:52

I feel like a performing seal.

miserywaterfall · 10/03/2014 21:11

I am finding the TTC sex funnier each time, was giggling away last night at how knackered we both were and yet still giving it a right good go. Ah dear, many months of this is going to be hard difficult.

Parsley2506 · 10/03/2014 21:22

Sundance that sounds like good news to me! Maybe you should do a CB digi with the dates? That might reassure you. I really hope this is your keeper!

Right, where did I put the cough mixture.....

OP posts:
Carly6971 · 10/03/2014 21:36

Which cough mixture are you using as I literally never have ewcm? When do u take it how much etc

deuscat · 10/03/2014 22:32

Triple what a day you've had. I hope that the rest of your ordeal goes as well as it can for you.

Seasides so sorry AF showed after the strange symptoms. I know how cruel that feels. Hopefully next cycle is the one for you!

Sundance it sounds like a tentative congrats are in order! Really hope this one sticks for you.

Sebs great news on ovulation!

AF has disappeared so I'm gearing up for tith in a few day's time. I've just started a new job so hopefully I'll have less time to obsess and symptom spot during my next tww.

Now then. Where are my ovulation eyes?! Grin

Sundance2007 · 10/03/2014 23:17

Thank you - not counting my chickens but could do with less drama this year!

I bought my cough meds from tescos, it wasn't a particular brand but has just guaifenesin as the main / only ingredient. Cost about £1.30, I took 2 x teaspoons twice a day started about 5 days before ov.

Penguin13 · 11/03/2014 06:09

Keeping everything very firmly crossed for you sundance. Hope it's a sticky little sunbeam for you.

sebsmummy1 · 11/03/2014 07:12

Tentative congratulations from me too Sundance. What tests are you using? I can remember with my successful pregnancy I bought Tesco own brand and they took over a week to give me a strong line from my first faint positive. Everything crossed for you.

I also use Tesco own brand cough medicine. It's got a grey and orange label and says on the front - Adult chesty cough syrup Guaifenesin 100mg per 5ml. I used to use the Robbitussin one but it was over seven pound a bottle so I switched.

Would you Adam and Eve that my fertility monitor actually gave me a peak reading this morning. I am amazed!! I'm not sure we have two more nights of sex in us but I'm going to try and tempt some love juice out of my poor knackered partner and then hope we've done enough.

Triplespin · 11/03/2014 08:21

Ooh sundance fx this is a sticky one! Don't worry about the faint line, maybe it was a late implanter.

It's now dawning on me that I will waste another 2 weeks of my precious TTC time being in limbo state.

I was told to go back in 2 weeks time to EPU. I have not been given an appointment. Do you think they will see me if I turn up in 1.5 weeks? I guess the risk is that even if they see me, they may ask me to wait for the 8 wk mark to confirm it is indeed a blighted ovum and to do the erpc.

Littlelady33 · 11/03/2014 09:56

Triple how horrible for you. It's one of the cruellest aspects of the whole process that you lose time you could spend TTC. I'm not sure about your EPU but at mine they will see you under pretty much any circumstances (you'll have to wait a few hours but they'll see you). Sadly they may tell you to come back when they can be sure.

Penguin13 · 11/03/2014 11:45

Triple I'm so sorry you're stuck in limbo. It really is one of the hardest aspects of this whole thing. I'm not sure what the EPU will say if you turn up early as I sense that this depends a bit on the unit where you are, but is there a number at the unit you can call? It might be worth trying to call and talk through your concerns. Hugs.

Triplespin · 11/03/2014 12:37

Yes I have a feeling I will be sent back until I hit the 8 wk or close to 8wk mark. Been reading on the Internet and most doctors will not confirm the diagnosis until then. Guess I need to keep myself very busy for the next 2 weeks!
