The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Parsley I did think about taking Vitex but I couldn't pin down whether it would help me (short cycle, just about acceptable LP). It sounded like it was more for people who wanted to ovulate earlier? I got a bit confused about the whole thing and ended up taking nothing.

noitsachicken · 05/03/2014 10:51

Great attitude Carly!

Just watching the rays whilst DS eats grapes and says ray repeatedly!

Seasides · 05/03/2014 10:54

I think agnus castus is helping me sebs - 27/8 day cycle but was getting worried about a 11/12 day LP and weird AF - 2 days of bleeding then up to 7 of spotting. This is only the 3rd month of taking it, but LP has been 13 days since I started, and AF seems better. I'm taking 20 drops for 1st 2 weeks now, and 10 drops for 2nd.

I'm a freelance food writer broody, love my job just now. Contract finishes end of this month, so trying not to get stressed about too much work while it lasts! Pretty sure I'll be kept on though, so not worried about it.

Metalhead · 05/03/2014 10:55

I just did an ov test out of curiosity and got a very strong line, but I'm guessing that's because it's still detecting hgc as I don't have any other ov symptoms...

LaceyLee · 05/03/2014 11:28

Hi all I've been taking vitex as well just up to ov. I thought my hormones were out of whack after two successive mcs. I can't tell if its helped really but this cycle has been very normal so far with no random spotting and all the usual ov signs lined up so hopefully. I decided it was worth a try cos things couldn't really get worse!

LaceyLee · 05/03/2014 11:30

Also Carly that sounds really tough and best of luck for the weight loss, it's so hard but sounds like a great way to find the positives Smile

Parsley2506 · 05/03/2014 11:34

sebs I started taking agnus castus because i was getting desperate I had read that it can help improve progesterone levels during LP. I had a few months last year where i'd get spotting in the days leading up to AF and had seen some research suggesting that spotting before AF can suggest not enough progesterone and thus weaker uterine lining. I have to say since taking it, i get no spotting at all, so it seems to have worked on that.
Of course the fact that the month I started taking it was the month i finally got my bfp has nothing to do with it

sebsmummy1 · 05/03/2014 11:45

Very interesting re. Vitex. I shall definitely start taking it next cycle if I get no BFP in March god just imagining that ever happening again seems ridiculously impossible

sebsmummy1 · 05/03/2014 13:01

Would you believe I have started cramping and bleeding again, just before I was due to take son swimming. I've put a mooncup in and will see if I start filling it. It feels emotionally like I'm miscarrying all over again, I am totally sick of the sight of blood.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 05/03/2014 13:05

Welcome Carly, seems there's alot of us here from the Sept ante-natal thread. Sorry for your loss, really hope you're not with us long. But if you do end p staying a little longer, the ladies here are a breath of fresh air!

I'm also taking Vitex, mainly to try to help balance my hormones. If anything this month my OV is looking like it will be later (cd15 and still high). Hopefully my af will be better this month too but i will be upduffed and not get af

Carly6971 · 05/03/2014 13:32

Sebs I haven't got round to slimming world yet, having a go on my own first, as back on Metformin so very restricted on what I can eat for the next few weeks :/ but loving the gym which never thought I would say, as really feeling like I am doing something positive :)

It's a month today since loosing our bean I bled for 8 days does anyone have any clue when af will make an appearance? X

Carly6971 · 05/03/2014 13:37

Oh and I am definately not a thought cookie, I fall apart regularly and avoid pregnant people like the plague lol! Just trying to take something positive from this....hey I thought I could never get pregnant and I did :) so maybe making the changes I have always known were needed will make us not have to wait another 6 years :) x

broodylicious · 05/03/2014 13:47

Just back from my first outing after mc last Thursday. First thing I see at the park? Frickin upduffed woman Confused Typical eh?

seasides how cool to be writing about food!! I'm a freelance PR and my feature writing currently includes wall cladding, a social policing initiative and psychometric testing amongst others. I too love my job and adore being my own boss. Can't believe I took other peoples shit for so long! There is always the worry in the back of my mind about one of my retainers stopping me because I only work 8-12 hours a week but there's plenty of work out there to get. Have you been freelance for long?

Parsley2506 · 05/03/2014 14:40

carly getting upset by it all from time to time and avoiding pregnant people just makes you human, it doesn't mean you're not a tough cookie, you definitely are! We're all expert participants in the game of 'hide from the pregnant person' here, no shame in that!

That said, spring is here, winter coats will be coming off, there will be bumps everywhere, as broodys already experienced today! We should invent some sort of special goggles to filter them all out and replace them with cute puppies or something.

Hi all . Been dipping in when I can over the past few days which have been super-busy but have finally caught up and managed to jump back on the speeding train which is this thread!

Welcome lacey, broody, cakes, chicken, carly and winohh. I'm sorry for every one of your losses and that you find yourselves here but as you've probably already discovered these ladies are all legends.

Thinking of you Triple. Hope Friday brings some reassurance.

miserywaterfall · 05/03/2014 18:11

I had never paid much attention to bumps or tiny babies in prams before, but now they seem to be EVERYWHERE. It doesn't help, as Parsley says, that spring is incoming, so everytime I walk past the park all I see are people with teeny little babies!

Happy mid week everyone. Really envy you guys who are self employed/freelancers. I'm studying art at the moment with the hopes of becoming self employed in the future, so fingers crossed.

Carly it took my AF 5 weeks to show up after my erpc and I only had tiny amounts of spotting, rather than bleeding after the op. Have heard of anything from 2 weeks to 8, so I think you'll just have to wait and see. Awesome that you are enjoying the gym. I've got high BMI too but don't think I'd ever enjoy the gym, lol. Gotta just eat less but got so much cake left from the wedding, it's difficult Grin

sebsmummy1 · 05/03/2014 18:31

Got home from swimming, didn't participate just watched. Mooncup was quarter full of black slime. Cramps eased off. There is obviously still tissue to be disposed of and I guess my body is just trying to clear me out fully. No bad smell or anything so hoping it's not abnormal.

Viperama · 05/03/2014 18:59

metalhead what brand ovu test are you using? Because I started testing 9 days after mc not desperate at all and got negative results daily until day 14 which was a positive. I use clearblu.

Tith on a daily basis at the moment, feels like the early days after we met Wink Anyone for POAS with me on the 21st? not counting the days at all

miserywaterfall · 05/03/2014 19:09

Viper I was wondering if tith on a daily basis would be a good idea or not, this month. Have heard things about leaving it a day inbetween other than on those ovulation days due to lowering the quality of swimmers, is this just bullshit do you think? It only takes one badass swimmer! And totally know what you mean about it feeling like the early days of the relationship. Haven't had this much tith since the first couple of months after we met lol.

Viperama · 05/03/2014 19:43

misery I'm no expert, but speaking with friends etc I figure on 'normal' days every other day is good but def during ovulation daily is best, we need all the help we can get, as you say it only takes one badass lol!

As to lowering quality of swimmers I've not even given that a thought. I'm not going to worry about it too much, my partner have been together 8 years and got lazy in the Tith department until started TTC, it's like all our Christmases at once. We've both said if anything good has come of this it'd be that we are making the effort and loving it!

I'm not taking a break as I mc'd so early and my vaginalscan (yuck) confirmed the cervix was good to go, so hey ho hey ho it's off to work we go....

sebsmummy1 · 05/03/2014 20:04

I agree with Viper Misery.

I briefly consulted with a fertility acupuncturist (she was crazy expensive so didn't pursue it beyond initial consultation. She was about to write a book so had studied a lot of papers and studies and said you should have sex every day during the fertile period. She also said it was best that the man was really turned on as opposed to 'doing his duty' as that made his sperm more effective, I think because he produces more.

Anyway that's what an expert said! If you can only manage every other day then I'm sure that's fine too.

Metalhead · 05/03/2014 20:13

Viper I used an IC from Amazon, I've got some Clearblues but saving those for when we're trying again 'properly'. I'm 16 days post ercp now and 20 days post start of mc, but I still got a very faint positive on one of the super-early IC hpts yesterday so it's probably just left-over hgc being picked up.

TeaRex · 05/03/2014 20:20

Just realised I would've probably been having my 20week scan tomorrow. And I'm on a self imposed chocolate and alcohol ban Sad and I didn't do my exercise DVD. still no AF day 44 so it's not even a stupidly long cycle for me really, just want it over already. Multiple fish slaps please....

I'm very impressed by all the everyday tith though! I'm way to knackered for that :) hope everyone's having a nice evening? I'm going to read in bed like an old woman lady of leisure.

Viperama · 05/03/2014 20:51

tearex we have friend over from out of town so ordering in Lebanese (yummy) and will have a proper catch up.
My ovu is now officially over so bf has the night off to regroup his swimmers until tmrw!

broodylicious · 05/03/2014 21:07

Ffs next door neighbour is watching one born every minute with the sound stupidly high. STFU, I'm watching Phil and Kirsty and don't want a wailing banshee ruining my viewing pleasure for the next hour!!! Usually neighbour is quiet as a mouse but she's either suddenly gone deaf or has treated herself to a new cinema surround sound type tv - either way, I do not want this screaming!!!!
