Don't put too much store by the dates on the CBD Bugs, there is such a wide range of "normal" HCG levels and I don't know what parameters CBD have set.

Excellent work on the carrot cake Hest, definitely one of your five a day! possibly more if it contains orange/raisins, etc Grin

Tesco usually do a great deal on smaller Easter Eggs. I think last year it was buy 1 get 2 free, priced at £1.50 each. I bought 4 so ended up with 12 for £6! They're very handy to keep in the house and give them to people who pop over on Easter weekend. I think I only gave 2 away and HWHNN and I scoffed the rest Grin

HesterShaw · 14/02/2014 17:40

Oooh I'd love a bit of carrot cake about now. Couldn't go for the creme eggs though, far too sweet and I still remember how many weight watchers points they were!

Just waiting for HWIETO to bring back a bottle of red, then will put the food on. Got one of those Waitrose valentine's meal deals, so even I can't fuck it up. Can I?

If they're the standard size, they're 6, which was 25% of my daily points allowance Sad

We've not exchanged cards either this year bugs. We didn't do anniversary cards last month, either. I've also told him that if he wants his shed for his birthday, he won't be getting a card then either

The flooding's bad in lots of places this year, isn't it? I do feel for those caught up in the storms though, there's been almost no coverage of that but the damage in Wales and the North West has been pretty bad too.

Bloody hell Sad I hope they're ok. Glad your slates are still intact, too. My mum's just moving buckets and bowls around depending on where the leaks are the worst. The last one opened up above the bath which was rather convenient!

ControlGeek · 14/02/2014 18:26

Vino time - I'll have a glass or two for you Bugs

MissHobart · 14/02/2014 18:35

Blimey I go to work for a day and miss the drama! Bugs lovely how are you feeling? That must have been beyond scary. Thank god your lovely husb was with you and looked after you properly. Sending you haddock of hope.

MissHobart · 15/02/2014 09:49

Just had a text from my doctor saying my vitamin d results are in and to contact them for a phone consultation but that there's "no rush". I have of course consulted Dr.Google, could it be this simple?! If I wasn't deficient they would have just said that the results are normal no? I spend loads of time outside with work, though we don't get much Sun do we? Honeymoon last year was the last time I got Sun and it wasn't even that much! Hmm Think I'll have to start having a couple of minutes on the sun bed from now on (another thing to try and fit in Confused )

How's everyone this morning? Smile

Thank goodness for that Bugs - more time to be spent looking after yourself for the time being - your poor body has had a real hard time of it.

MissH I take an extra dose of vit D - it's a super powered one - Zita has been recommending it for yonks so it's nice to see the nhs have finally cottoned on. When I first was tested for vit d my gp said - whatever will these consultants think of next - like it was some sort of numptiness!

MissHobart · 15/02/2014 11:09

Thanks! No-one ever mentioned vit d deficiency as being important, seems it can prevent your womb lining from being thick enough therefore preventing proper implantation, wish I'd known Sad This also brings me back to the point that we should be offered blood tests when first ttc to check all these basic things to be able to rule them out before suffering at least a year of heartache, or at least be told to take more supplements than just folic acid Angry

Glad you're feeling better Bugs keep your fluids up! Smile

Good to hear you're feeling better bugs but worrying that you could have been suffering from OHSS and the hospital, GP and clinic didn't pick it up. Do you still have to take those nasty tablets?

MissH I'd never been tested for it, but started taking high levels of vitamin D when I heard that it could reduce the size of fibroids and reduce PMT symptoms. I also took magnesium to help its absorption and reduce the impact of high levels of vitamin D on my bones. The more I read about it, the more it sounded like a wonder drug. My mood lifted within a couple of weeks of taking it (I am borderline SAD and it was the middle of winter) and my migraines decreased too. It didn't shrink my fibroid, but it did stop it growing any further. I didn't know that about your womble lining though. H&B do good value, high strength vitamin D, or you can get it combined with fish oil which is supposed to be good for your eggs as well.

Fab what made your consultant test you for vitamin D? Was it part of the standard things he tested for?

Ooh I've just remembered - when I was in Boots looking for the CBFM sticks just before this last cycle, I noticed for the first time EVER - they have a home semen analysis test kit available! It wasn't particularly helpful, just gave a reading of 'ok' or 'low' but I would have killed for something like that to be available when HWIETO and I were starting out.

Hello luffly hags.

bugs sorry for your scare. I would seek advice about pain relief. I took 30mg codeine 4 times a day during pregnancy because I still had that weird abdo pain. There are some risks though and I had to stay under consultant care. Risks are generally at the end of pregnancy (breathing difficulties and possible withdrawal symptoms) which is why we were monitored for 48 hours after Faithlet was born. The other thing is it doesn't half bung you up which could be a factor in your pain. So plenty of fluids and rest. Lactulose is a good choice if you do get bunged up.

Hesty what Truffers said. I think we all hope for a positive outcome (come on universe!) because we luff you.

Fabuluce · 15/02/2014 12:46

My old GP did absolutely nothing for my fertility queries because I was too old but she did, rather unhelpfully, say if I didn't reduce my stress I was going to kill myself which I thought was a touch melodramatic but the point was taken. The next GP then knew absolutely nothing about fertility but was happy to let me have as many tests as we could get away with on the nhs that my consultant recommended. The first thing they do at my clinic is do bloods on you both to see if there are any obvious underlying factors. It baffles me that GPs Don't do this as surely it could potentially take away years of unnecessary heart ache and stress. Also they could do all this before spending the money on sending you to a consultant too surely? Plus giving women the basic tools of fertility chats - timing, cm, diet, caffeine, booze, fags etc. it's amazing how many women are trying and failing on nhs cycles when they haven't even begun to get their potential baby house in order. Yes, plenty of people get pregnant without having to sort their shit out, but if you're struggling wouldn't you think the first thing to do would be to make sure you are in the best place physically? I say all this knowing that over the past year of 2 ivfs and my dad dying I've put on a stone and a half so I'm certainly not perfect but my diet is great - I have all the right things - I just like it all toooo much! Back to weight watchers for me I think!
