I've just baked some viennese whirls Smile TWH and I are supposed to be going out for a friends birthday tonight but TWH has fallen fowl of the man flu and is feeling very sorry for himself so I might have to leave him at home. I hate leaving him to be miserable in his own but suspect as he is already in bed asleep a good night of sleeping will do him the power of good. He's going to miss out in a good night tho. It's with friends that we always spend the evening laughing with Smile

FizzyFeet · 15/02/2014 19:23

Have a good time, fab!

This evening GFBW is cooking and I'm playing with the cats. It's wild and windy here so I'm in full-on 'batten down the hatches' mode.

bugs are you feeling any better?

I had a grim thought today. Instadiffer colleague (whose absence wasn't covered, so we've been trying to do all her work as well as our own) is due back soon. I bet £50 she'll be updiffed when she returns. Grrrrrrr. Angry Hmm

Fabuluce · 15/02/2014 19:26

Grrrr to instadiffers wot diff themselves before returning to work. It's just showing off unnecessary smugness. To be fair, if I could do it I would but I can't so therefore they are all bastards!

Have fun with the cats Smile

FizzyFeet · 15/02/2014 19:40

The cats are pretty good at cheering me up. I know it's wrong to be thinking about something that might never happen... I need to snap out of my grump. Can I blame it on progesterone too?

Morning hags!

Glad to hear you're feeling a lot better, bugsie! Your day sounds more productive then mine. I did an hours worth of extremely mild exercise, then met a friend for coffee, collapsed with crochet in front of the winter olympics, got so caught up that I just had to unravel 1 hours worth of crochet cos I made a crucial mistake, and then we cooked dinner for the downstairs neighbours, which was lovely. Today I have a similar day planned, except no cooking for neighbours and I am currently making chicken soup.

As to leaving BESH, if you want me to go, you'll give me a gentle nudge, won't you?

Oh fab your twirls sound FABULOUS. Please stop tempting me might have to bake, bugs has been showing off with her cupcakes as well. The smug instadiffer might not be diffed again. And if she is, you should lobby for a replacement next time! How was the night out? I love friends that you spend the night laughing with!

Your cats sound well and truly settled, fizz. I cannot believe how fast it's gone!

MissH I am actually doing a neat ripple pattern from attic 24, and am thinking of you lots. How are things?

And geek have you drunk your body weight in wine? Did you and the OH come to any decisions?

Fankletastic · 16/02/2014 11:10

Morning Hags!
Very impressed by all your culinary and crafts/crotchet efforts. Making chicken soup so early on a Sunday morning should win some sort of award!
DH cooked us a lovely 3 course Thai meal last night, which was lovely. Much better than my effort on Friday with m&s dinner and packet of couscous. I think I ov'd on Friday and DH struggled a bit with the Pressure of a SmileyFace so that was a bit worrying. He came good in the end though (pardon the pub). He's fine all month until I get a positive opk, then he suddenly feels stressed and can't relax. Poor bugger. So now in TWOT territory...anyone else?? Will need help to get through this one as I have placed a tremendous amount of hope in success this month due to having the lap and having mild endo removed. Slap me now with the cod of common sense please.

Fankletastic · 16/02/2014 11:11

PUN!!!

MissHobart · 16/02/2014 11:47

Drizz - I'm onto the granny stripe blanket now! Making a lovely multi-coloured one to snuggle under!

Hest - are you about? How's it going?

Bugs - Glad you're feeling better!

Fab - Very jealous of the baking!

I need much fish slapping today, I KNOW we missed ovulation but have decided today that I'm knackered, spotty, grumpy, tearful and pissed off Angry because I'm pregnant! Confused Hmm

Got vit d from Tesco yesterday but they only do kids one's?! chewy orange flavour isn't great when washing it down with your morning coffee! Hmm

fab what a twunty GP you started off with. So pleased that the next one was prepared to go along with whatever the consultant recommended (though how could they not - that's the reason for having specialist consultants, surely?) I too wish there was a standard TTC check-up that would test for these things early on. Two years is an awfully long time to then find out something substantial is wrong. The younger the NHS identifies and treats issues, the less it is likely to cost them in the long run, because it is more likely to be successful no? says she who sat on her failure to conceive for 10 years before even going to the gp Sorry TWH is under the weather. Hope you had a lovely evening with friends.

bugs very productive indeed, I'm very impressed. Now when are you coming round mine and doing some baking? Wink Good to hear you are feeling better than you were.

fizz She may not be, you never know - she may even decide one's enough for her. FWIW I'm planning on trying to return to work diffed following my mat leave, cash permitting! Has the weather died down where you are now? It's rather lovely here and the flood warnings on the rivers are being taken off shortly.

drizz ohhh the black art of crochet! It's the one crafty thing that I just can't do. Body weight in wine has been drunk I actually drank HWIETO under the table for the first time in years and I think we have made some decisions but I am in my usual panic that he's only going with it to please me, not because that's what he really wants.

fankle sorry to hear about the almost-fail. There's so much pressure, isn't there? Could you maybe not tell him when it is The Night, so that he thinks you're just up for some fun? That was the only way I could get HWIETO through the panic of having to perform. It also meant that I got continued sechs for an extra week Grin

missH your vitamin D tabs sound... delightful Hmm

I finished the body of the blanket I was knitting yesterday, just got to knit the border now. I'm hopefully meeting up with a luffly friend tomorrow, and Will Not Go To Pieces.

Fabuluce · 16/02/2014 13:05

Don't underestimate the stress you will be put under when you go back Bugs - make sure you are absolutely sure you are ready and aren't going back just to keep your boss happy.

I'm almost done with some orange and lemon shortbread too - im really enjoying my new found love of baking - normally I'm a savoury girl and it's all about the flavour as I'm not really good with pretty cooking but these are easy to do once you get the hang of it and very satisfying. I'm quite enjoying piping stuff too - who knew! I'm also thinking of getting a seeing machine and teaching myself some skills. When we move house I'd like to make curtains - too hard??

I have biotech bio-d-mulsion forte vit d oil - one drop a day. Got it from t'interweb in the advise of my nutritionist - givvidago!

TWOT - as it's over 3 years that we've been trying now thankfully I only have that in the last couple of days. I like to take that as a silver lining as it's much better than 2 weeks worth right??

Fabuluce · 16/02/2014 13:11

Geek, Bugs and Miss I marvel at your crafting skills - feels need to upgrade self. Mental note to make a note to start in the test cushion pronto and ponders whether the next Fred should be craft feemed?

Driz - small pointer. No. You can't go anywhere. Pliz.

Geek - nevermind waiting two years to find something substantial wrong, I'm miffed they don't do it to find the basic stuff first! If I'm vit d deficient and it's the reason I'm not about to give birth it could have been picked up 13 months ago. It seems to be backwards, try and then treat rather than check and prevent. Bonkers! Confused

Bugs - I'm very jealous of the craft room, I had a sewing room in our first house together that OH painted and decorated for me that I never used Blush Don't think I'll ever be allowed another one Hmm

ControlGeek · 16/02/2014 14:48

bugs Have just seen I x-posted with you. Could you maybe work from home for a couple of days, just to see if you are up to the sustained concentration? Even office work can be exhausting if you're not physically on par. Please don't feel you have to push yourself before you're ready.

mmmm shortbread

missH I consider that substantial, ie has the potential to prevent you from conceiving. And I'm sick of hearing about 'unexplained'. They're the bloody medical experts, they should bloody well be able to explain it. Humph.

I too have a crafting room. It was one of the prerequisites of wherever we moved to. It still spills over into every other room of the house occasionally though Blush

Fankletastic · 16/02/2014 15:04

Omg Geek, am also sick of being labelled unfuckingexplained! Apparently we are both physically fine although DH has only had a SA- no blood tests. Then when I asked for a laparoscopy (yes I had to ask and exaggerate how painful my periods are) they find mild endometriosis!

DH knows my cycle almost as well as I do,Geek, but worth a try not mentioning it to him and see how he copes.

Fab, I too seem less bothered by TWOT these days, only gets to me the last week or so (OWOF). When I got updiffed before I had symptoms from 8-9 dpo so obviously now when I reach that stage the menkulling sets in until the witch arrives. I've been good at not POAS before period for the last 6 months or so. It's just not worth the extra days of tears.

Get you lot with your craft rooms!! I'm a bit lacking in that department I'm afraid although I like the idea of making stuff

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone.
