Clinging on to a finger Dish and hoping it will all be good for you.

Everyone else I'm jealous of your hols!! Our only holiday last year was to the Lake District for a week while I was on the 2ww for our second (failed) ivf. I knew it wasn't going right and was a thorough miserable bitch for all of it. And now we've just bought a house and need to do shitloads to it AND ivf I just don't know when we'll be able to afford something lovely again Hmm bright side is that if the ivf doesn't work out we'll probably fuck off overseas to live for a bit. But I would really quite like a holiday somewhere sunny and relaxing right now!

FriendofDorothy · 02/03/2014 22:04

I have no idea where it is. We are staying in a villa which is geared up for families with kids so there is everything we could possibly need there. We are going with my Dad and my sister and her family.

eurochick · 02/03/2014 22:06

Sounds lovely! We're hoping to fit in one more long haul trip in a month or so (last minute deal to somewhere beachy and pampering), then I have a work trip to the US at the end of April. After that, I'm hoping for short haul only (and hoping for an invite to the outlaws' place in France pretty soon!).

Fabuluce · 02/03/2014 22:20

I can thoroughly recommend the El Dorado Royale on the Riviera Maya in Mehico Euro for perfect pampering, beautiful hotel and super scrumptious food. It will be the last time you can do a child free holiday so make the most of it at this place which is adults only. Tis lush!

cletterthedishes · 03/03/2014 07:53

I second fab on Mexico, euro. Mr C and I went to Tulum (very south coast, just above Belize) and it was phenomenally beautiful. We stayed in an 'eco-resort' - fairly remote, beach and jungle, wooden cabins. Only hazard is the lizards. We nearly packed one in our homecoming luggage Smile

No more pink stuff today. I've decided to wait and see. I'll hopefully be able to switch surgeries in a week or so (shall be kicking some insurance arse if not all sorted) and then will make a check-in appt with the new GP. I guess they'll probably offer me an early scan with my history, and that should put it at about 8 weeks. By 8 weeks my last one had stopped growing, so if I get a good result then I'll be over the moon and will feel a lot better about the pregnancy.

Thanks everyone for being so supportive. I hadn't realised how tough it was going to be if I had similar symptoms to last time. Who knows, maybe the way I'm built means any pregnancy, healthy or otherwise, will have little bleeds in it. It's just that the only reference point I have is a pregnancy that ended in MC.

FrankelInFoal · 03/03/2014 09:39

Glad you're feeling better this morning Dishy, don't forget depending on the area you live in your GP might not do the booking-in. Where I live the GP surgery just gives you a phone number for the midwife team and tells you to call and sort it yourself!

eurochick · 03/03/2014 10:11

Thanks for the ideas. I went to Tulum years ago, before there were any hotels there. Just the ruins and that gorgeous little bay. I'm not sure I could face seeing it changed. I think we will probably end up in the Maldives. It's a real favourite of ours and perfect for r and r.

Fabuluce · 03/03/2014 12:11

Blissful Euro. It's a frustration of mine that TWH has been to the Maldives and Mauritius and I haven't! Granted I've been to lots of places that he hasn't but all mine were travelling adventures and all his are lounge about RnR places. Since we've been together we've been showing each other our favourite places but because I'm more of an organiser we've had more adventures than relaxers. Think it's time to book in a few relaxers!

eurochick · 03/03/2014 12:16

We've done a mix. Some adventures, some fly and flop and some sightseeing. I've been looking for alternatives to the Maldives but there aren't many places comparable for sea life and I love that ( not that I will be diving on this trip, but I can still snorkel).

Fabuluce · 03/03/2014 12:48

Have you done Fiji? I did it backpacking so not quite as plush as I would have liked (!) but there were some amazing looking resorts and a lot of good diving.

eurochick · 03/03/2014 13:54

Fiji was on our list for this year pre-diffage, but I'm not sure I want to do a flight that long now. I definitely want to get there though!

Fabuluce · 03/03/2014 15:13

Ha, yes it's about 20 hours - a touch long for being diffed!

FrankelInFoal · 03/03/2014 15:37

I don't think I'll be getting on a plane again anytime soon, but can highly recommend Zanzibar. We did a split honeymoon - 7 days on safari in Tanzania then 7 days doing bugger all in Zanzibar.

We stayed at this hotel, it was luffly Grin

Fabuluce · 03/03/2014 16:45

I think I need to have words with TWH. I NEED a holiday and I NEED it to be very expensive!!

I am still knackered. I've felt exhausted for a week now - wtf is going on with my bod? It's doing my head in a bit.

All this holiday chat is rather inspiring ladies! The most luxurious hols we've had In the last 2-3 years have been to St Lucia (great for diving and snorkelling) and Sri Lanka. The flight stopped at Male airport on the way home and I SO wanted to get off and spend another fortnight in the Maldives! But I can highly recommend Sri Lanka- any 'Amman' resort for luxury. Hmmmm....where to next?

Bugs- thanks so much for the book. Got it today. I will be fearless and open-minded and just read it

Droid giving me fucker cramps the last 2 days. Fed up seeing that cunt round here.

eurochick · 03/03/2014 21:13

Our shortlist is basically:
Malaysia
Maldives
Sri Lanka
Thailand
Carrybean

We're pretty focussed on the Maldives now though.

The fucking fucker, fankle.

Zanzibar does look pretty amazing frank. A friend did that and Tanzania for honeymoon.

I just went to the gym for the first time since diffage. I am flipping knackered now. And sad that I no longer properly fit into and just look fat in my workout clothes!

HesterShaw · 03/03/2014 21:18

My shortlist is:
Peckham
Manchester
Somerset
Kent

these are in no way places I have family living in

FizzyFeet · 03/03/2014 21:24

All in a good cause, euro! I went swimming for the first time in a while today and enjoyed it. My downreg drucks are making me chubby not the chocolate, oh no

You've all got me daydreaming about holidays now. I really really enjoyed Marrakesh - stayed in a lovely resort, and not too far to fly. Would go back there like a shot. From the sublime to the ridiculous: we have just booked a weekend in Torquay Grin. I can't think about it without hearing Basil Fawlty in my head.

I have just done a scary thing an applied for a job for the first time in years. Gulp! I figure that if i get it, and if this ivf works, it'll be a nice problem to have.

FriendofDorothy · 03/03/2014 21:26

I dream of holidays like those. I doubt that we will ever be able to afford one though :(

FrankelInFoal · 03/03/2014 21:30

Our honeymoon was a once in a lifetime trip, we'll never afford a similar holiday again!

I'm starting Pilates on Friday. Figure it'll be useful if I manage to stay preggo.

bugs, do you have to stay away from exercise until you're 12 weeks? Is that cos the buglet was conceived via IVF?

I am eating like an absolute beast. Reckon I ate 5 meals yesterday. I can't pretend I know it's to do with the Grub, could just be greed.
