Oh speaking of books, I have loads and loads. If anyone wants any, I have:
Zita West
Toni Weschler
The Baby Making Bible
as well as a ton of other woo stuff.

Apologies to former BESH who passed these on to me. Would any of you like them back or shall I donate them to someone less bitter more worthy less worn down by Life newer?

Fankletastic · 28/02/2014 15:55

Hmm the IVF book might be helpful for me Bugs as that's going to be my next stage (hopefully). Did you find the book helpful? Was your little lovely bean conceived by IVF? I'm shitting myself about it tbh!

Thank you Bugs. Once I figure out how to do a PM to you, I'll send you my address.

Has anyone used the online IVF chance of success calculator? I did it the other day and came out with 27% chance of success. That seems pretty low...?

Fabuluce · 28/02/2014 16:25

Fanks, 27% is actually pretty good for ivf! People tend to think of it as the miracle cure as we all know someone with an ivf baby but sadly it isn't that easy. Some say that to be in with a chance you should really give it three goes but according to that calculator your chances go down each time you do ivf. I tried the calc and my chances were 8% so I've decided to ignore it as it was too depressing! And that was with 2 healthy partners, and at the time unexplained fertility, one ivf mmc and one ivf fail. I've now found out I've got auto immune ishoos so I've got more drugs to take on the next round if we ever get there.

I feel like poo have been in bed most if the day Hmm

Mine is 15.4%.

What a crock.

That seals the deal.

Fabuluce · 28/02/2014 17:49

It's depressing isn't it Hest. I just repeated mine - 8.2%. Why do I do it to myself? I've never shown TWH these results as he's a man if percentages and I suspect he would just veto our third and final round. Which of course makes sense, but I would really like to give it one final go before calling it quits.

eurochick · 28/02/2014 19:32

I can't believe that people reported those posts. Surely it was all dealt with?

bugs I waited to book in. Although I had the bleed to make me think it wasn't worth it.

HesterShaw · 28/02/2014 19:38

Does anyone want a CBFM?

Fankletastic · 28/02/2014 20:06

Sorry you feel like poo fab. Droid is coming for me tomorrow too, I'm sure of it. Get some wine in you!

I know of someone who'd had several failed iui's and ivf's but once she got her immune issues sorted her last round of IVF worked and she's due in April. So don't five up yet!

Fankletastic · 28/02/2014 20:10

give!
Hest- I wouldn't mind the cbfm actually. Is that really cheeky? First a book from Bugs and now this. I'm not a scrounger, honest! I mistakenly bought the piss sticks for a cbfm ages ago instead of the opks, but obvs haven't been able to use them! Smile

I'll just check it's ok with the person who sent it to me.

KatAndKit · 28/02/2014 20:31

Bugs I would make an appointment with the midwife, if they are busy putting it off might delay your 12 week scan. However, what I would do is make sure the appointment is a day or two after your next scan. Then you will know things are good and will feel better about booking in. Will you be under consultant led care?

You can request consultant shared care if you want when you book in. If you are on drugs you'd think they'd want to see you though. I like having the extra appointments, helps with the pregnancy anxiety.

I think it's standard for IVF pregnancies to be put under a consultant initially, though god only knows why they're considered "higher risk". IIRC Euro was initially told she'd be under a consultant but she kicked up a fuss and they've moved her to midwife-led.

eurochick · 01/03/2014 09:25

Yep, that's right frank. I just wanted to finally be "normal" after all the intervention and dr visits I have had. I've engaged a private mw now anyway, so I've got one foot outside the NHS system (can still have an NHS birth if I want one).

Fabuluce · 01/03/2014 10:12

How much does that cost then Euro? Is it crazy money?

Fabuluce · 01/03/2014 10:26

I'm pretty sure I had a chemical pregnancy this month. I didn't do a test but had lots of symptoms, droid was a couple of days then had a terrible day yesterday with only a bit of blood - spent most of the day in bed and then in the night the pain got much worse and a woosh of bleeding with lumps (soz for tmi!). Actually feeling a bit better today (able to stand up straight at least) and still a fair amount of bleeding. FFS though.

Fab that sounds tough. Can you take it easy over the weekend?

The independent mw cost depends on the package you go through. We have booked through Neighbourhood Midwives - the prices are on the website I think.
