Evening all - sorry, I've been well slack and haven't checked in for ages. Hello to all those who've greeted me Smile

Sorry to hear about the trauma some ladies have been going through over the last few days. Hope everyone feels better . . .

loving the craft chat. I am making lots of new fabric things for our new house, mostly competently. I can't claim there's been no swearing and unpicking.

Negative test this morning Confused HOW THE HELL CAN IT BE NEGATIVE?! I can't believe I wasted even a moment of my youth worrying about microscopic contraception failures. Mind you, it would be sod's law that that would be when it would happen. A lovely friend of mine with some relatively serious fertility issues recently got pregnant from a single broken condom incident. That's life, I guess.

I have decided I'm off to the doc's. I still doubt there's anything too physically wrong, but it makes sense to find out.

Oooh, and misshobart . . . exciting! I have been known to POAS 7DPO Blush

Ummm . . . what's TWOT and OWOF?

MissHobart · 16/02/2014 20:27

Two/One Week(s) of Torture

I know, I know, I'm not actually pregnant unless one of the gods came and stuck one in me while I was asleep! Grin

I agree with bugs - 6dpo is far too early to see anything. That's the day the embie should be hatching from its shell and having a look around your womble.

I'm back from my weekend in Paris and absolutely shattered! We walked miles and it was probably the most active I have been since before diffage. The 80+ steep spiral stairs to leave the catacombs almost did for me. I couldn't catch my breath at the top. I am mega unfit now! We had a lovely time though. :)

I've spent loads of time in Paris for work, but have only ever spent one weekend there before as a tourist - back when I was a student in France and had no money to actually go into anything! It was nice to do it in a bit more style.

The only glitch was when halfway through dinner on Friday, I realised that the other half of the chunk of chicken I had just eaten was a bit pink.... Cue several hours of menkulling. No food poisoning symptoms emerged so I am taking it that I dodged that particular bullet.

KatAndKit · 16/02/2014 22:07

Mmmm I love Paris. Actually I love city breaks in general. Budapest was my favourite ever. Glad you had a nice time euro

I would avoid stick piss until 12dpo. I did get a bfp at 10dpo once but it was virtually invisible so all I did was menkul. I think it is pretty much biologically impossible to get one before 9dpo, perhaps 8 at the very very earliest.

Lurking for hest and thinking of you.

Fabuluce · 17/02/2014 07:10

Morning HagsSmile

Good luck in your scan today Euro - still clutching on to your toe as promised!

Where's Hest? How are you lovely?

Mmmmmmm Paris - TWH once promised to take me there but we still haven't been...it was one of the few places I promised myself I would only go to with a significant other...Barcelona is fabulous Bugs - if go back in a flash if I could!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 17/02/2014 07:40

Yay for a lovely valentine's weekend in Paris. I love it there. We went quite regularly in our "keep your mind of ftc holiday mode". It worked reasonably well. Keeping everything crossed for good results today, euro.

Never POAS before 12 dpo, it is only menkultastic and won't tell you anything, missH. In fact, I never pee on anything before 16dpo. I have done about four or five tests in my life. And none this diffment (I did get a blood test at 16dpo).

I cannot be bothered to even think about what I need to do for work... Time for another cup of tea, I think.

FrankelInFoal · 17/02/2014 07:44

What all the other Hags said re early POASing MissH, we don't encourage that sorta thing round these parts Wink

Hest, also lurking for news from you. Hope you're doing ok.

Euro, will await scan news with eager anticipation Grin

Having one of those mornings LP? Grin

HesterShaw · 17/02/2014 11:50

Thanks for lurkage hags. No news. Tomorrow will be POAS if I can be arsed :(

eurochick · 17/02/2014 12:23

Hey hags. All good here. My age related Down's risk is 1/130. The combined test took it to 1/2600 and the Harmony to 1/10000. The results were similar for the other two trisomies. Phew. I'm going to try to woman up now and stop menkulling. Plenty of things could still go wrong, but we have crossed a big hurdle by getting this far. I couldn't have done it without you. Fab you can let go now and grab a digit of someone who needs you more than I do now.

Hest I have everything crossed for you tomorrow.

Bugs how are you doing?

Missh, did you manage to step away from the pish sticks?

LauraPalmer · 17/02/2014 12:29

Whoop! 1/10000 is a fantastic result Euro. I'm so pleased all is well and that you might just maybe ease up on the menkulling.

Thanks hags. LP, the Harmony gives you a risk of either 1/2 or 1/10000, which is why we went for it. It's as close to certainty either way as you can get without an invasive test.

Bugs I'm glad the visit to work went well and that your boss wasn't a dick. A phased return with some leave thrown in sounds like a good plan.

Any advice about brands of piss sticks? Not that it will alter the result... They have to be stocked in Sainsbury's :)

Also if you are peeing three times in a night and one of them is at about 4.30 is that fmu?

(don't start poking kidneys. I've always been a multiple night pee-er)

MyNameIsWinkly · 17/02/2014 18:32

My advice was going to be stay away from Tesco own, but the Sainsbos specification rules them out anyway. Apparently you can't go wrong with a FRER. Pass on the FMU question, sorry.

HesterShaw · 17/02/2014 18:38

FRER? First response?

LauraPalmer · 17/02/2014 18:41

My vote is for a FRER.

Be wary of Sainsbury's own (with the blue dye '+' signs).

Perhaps you should have several piss cups - one for each post 4.00am wee and then you can dip stick 'em all.
Recovering POAS-er, here.
