Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Inshock - your story sounds a lot like mine. My only ever BFP was in December 2011 (only our 3rd cycle ttc). I had some bleeding around 6 weeks so got an early scan at 6 wk 5 days and was reassured when they found a heartbeat. Baby was measuring small though and they told me that if I was going to miscarry, there was nothing anyone could do to prevent it. But I was just relieved that all was ok. The bleeding stopped for about a week but when it returned it was a bit worse than the first time. I knew it wasn't good so went for another scan...I was nearly 8 weeks by that time. However, no heartbeat was detected. How awful that moment was. I miscarried naturally about 10 days later, but it was painful and awful and I bled a lot for a good couple of weeks.

That was Jan 2012. I was 32.

Fast forward to now and basically bugger all has happened! I'm now 35 and feel like life has been on hold for a very long time. All tests show everything to be fine with both of us. A laparoscopy in January showed mild endo, but that shouldn't really deter conception too much.

Moving on to IUI in July.....

Tranquility and Sebs - I am thinking of you and hoping you're bearing up ok. What a trauma to go through.

I hope you all manage to enjoy the bank holiday weekend. (I'm waiting for AF to show so that will be fun).

Inshock73 · 02/05/2014 18:50

Your experience is so similar to mind Fankle I don't understand how it can change so quickly. Like you we've both had the various tests and everything has come back as normal It feels like the mc flicked a switch and changed things. I think it's time for me to look at IUI or IVF. Good luck with your IUI I hope you're going to keep us updated :)

I've just had the results of my day 3 bloods, I've been told they're 'normal' but my LH is 5.9 and my FSH is 9.0, I think my FSH is too high for day 3 bloods, anyone else understand this result?

patch77 · 02/05/2014 23:30

Been to gp. Booked in with nurse for swabs in 2 weeks, week after that with technician for bloods. Then as the surgery has ultrasound Dr is booking me in to check for blockages. Dh has to book and then do his contribution. Find it weird they treat you as individuals and then you have to give them permission to put them together. I thought that would be obvious if you'd gone for help in the first place. Bit scared as petrified of needles. Must say so on my records as gp was brilliant and said they would help as much as possible. Could be quite quick depending on results. She will make a decision and maybe refer to fertility specialist at hospital if something/nothing shows up on all tests.

sebsmummy1 · 03/05/2014 07:02

Patch I would kill for you GP!! You are so lucky. Fingers crossed for you xxx

spinningirl10 · 03/05/2014 13:10

Hi ladies :)

Sebsmummy....really hope you get some answers soon, what an awful wait for you!

Tranquil...pleased to hear you've got lovely friends and family supporting you Thanks

I'm 14dpo, poas (ic) which says bfn. Had a little brown spotting yesterday which I never get. Haven't had af symptoms but don't feel pregnant either. I suspect af will soon be here though!

Hope everyone enjoys the bank holiday weekend :)

Tranquilitybaby · 03/05/2014 15:17

spinning keeping my fingers crossed you!! Xx

stubbornstains · 03/05/2014 19:40

Lots of blood tests going on at the mo!

The doctor managed to fit me in on day 2 yesterday, for the day 3 bloods IYSWIM....Lots of little vials waiting to be tested for all kinds of hormones'n'things! I was glad to find out that they were testing for thyroid levels too without being prompted.

The doctor said that my progesterone levels were a bit on the low side, according to the Day 21 test, but she's pretty sure I ovulated, and maybe the unexpected shortness of this month's cycle messed things up. But we're going to repeat the test in the coming cycle.

How are you doing sebsmummy? I wish I could smuggle you into my doctor's, but as you can see, there are lots of better GPs out there, so I'm sure there's one local to you Smile

sebsmummy1 · 03/05/2014 20:27

Hi stubborn. I've decided to just pay for some tests as im sick of begging. I had my thyroid tested about 6 months ago and was told it was fine so I'm thinking the day 21 test would be a good starting point.

Loafs of baby dust for you. Hope your tests highlight something that's easily corrected xxx

spinningirl10 · 04/05/2014 11:06

Af rudely arrived yesterday afternoon Sad

On a positive note, a lady on the May ttc thread got a bfp and she's 43 so it does happen for us oldies! Thinking positive thoughts for next cycle.

KEGirlOnFire · 04/05/2014 17:36

Ahhh sorry spinning.

I am out this month already on only 6/7 dpo as I had some brown cm when I wiped yesterday. It's so annoying, one month I get brown cm on 12 or 13 dpo and the next month I get it on 6dpo, what's that about? Almost like one side just isn't working properly, but I am not too down this month. My new dress never arrived so I went back to the shop and tried on some more. Found an amazing one, bright pink, beautiful and it was half the price of the other one, £80 down from £200!!!

And I wouldn't be able to wear it if I was pregnant, so I don't feel too bad.

Anymore news sebsmummy? Any bleeding or pain?

sebsmummy1 · 04/05/2014 17:49

Kegirl, it's actually really unusual for your lutuel phase to change per cycle. It can change obviously due to mc or some large hormone shift, but not move about on a monthly basis. Are you just saying you get breakthrough bleeding at different times in the month but your period stays the same?

I'm fine thankfully (and absolutely with no credit being given to anyone medical - pure luck). I started spotting yesterday and today a little more so I suspect I will bleed out soon and then will get neg hpts after the bleed (this happened with my 1st mc. Didn't get a neg hpt until after my first period afterwards).

No pain, I can only think that the egg tried to hang on after implantation and my subsequent AF and some tissue got left behind or something so was still generating some hcg, but not very much.

I read an extremely sad post today from a regular who had got to 17 weeks after recurrent miscarriages and has posted today to say her baby's heartbeat could not be found in the last scan on Monday. It puts my incredibly early miscarriages into perspective and makes me realise how lucky I am in many ways.

Hand holding to everyone who needs it today xx

KEGirlOnFire · 04/05/2014 19:20

I know sebsmummy. That's one of the reasons I pushed for all the tests. They even gave me 4 months worth of progesterone pessaries to see if that was the cause, but I still got the spotting.

Yes I don't get proper red bleeding until dpo14/15, but I get some brownion once or twice from about 7dpo. But then on other months I don't get it until a day or so before I get the proper period. It's really annoying.

When I was temping, my temperature would dip on the same day and even though it went back up, it rarely went back up as high as it had been. Hence why I thought it was progesterone related. But all my tests were clear aswell as my lap and dye so I've got no idea wheat causes it...

I do suffer with cervical erosions but I can't see how/why they would be triggered...

Sorry that you've started spotting sebsmummy... I found the waiting the worst bit... xxx

sebsmummy1 · 04/05/2014 19:53

You're right, the waiting is definitely the worst bit.

I have started taking maca powder each day as it is meant to regulate hormones. Vitex is also meant to be excellent. Have you tried either of these?

Fankletastic · 05/05/2014 08:52

Good morning all. Hope everyone is doing a bit better.

I'm ecstatic and still in a state of shock but here is an old bird reporting her first BFP in over 2 years!! I poas last night after AF was 2 days late. Was so scared to test as I've been tricked by my body so many times before.

Very happy Grin

Inshock73 · 05/05/2014 09:29

Aww Fankle I'm so so pleased for you. Hope this little one sticks you deserve it xxxx

Tranquilitybaby · 05/05/2014 10:43

Sorry AF arrived spinning xx

I feel a bit better today, I've relived all the days so far in the lead up to it being a week since it happened and now I'm here. We planted a beautiful white rosebush in our garden yesterday afternoon, putting some letters under the roots as it was planted. Had lanterns with candles burning last night and it made me feel better to do that. Xx I've got to move on now, hopefully the future will be brighter. X

Good luck to those of you waiting to test, know kegirl is, not sure who else. X

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/05/2014 11:24

Kegirl...love the sound of your bright pink dress and what a bargain:)

Karmanna13 · 05/05/2014 13:31

Hey, can I join please? I'm 36 later this month and have just started ttc for #2. DS is 2 years old. I live in Sweden with my English DH.

Had an ectopic pregnancy 3 months after DS was born, am now left with one tube so fear ttc may be lengthy. It took 9 months of ttc with DS1.

Would be nice to have someone to chat to as I enter into the very frustrating ttc stage yet again! May it be short for us all!

Tranquilitybaby · 05/05/2014 13:35

Hi karma welcome to our group. I've just had an ectopic too sadly so I may well be asking for advice of that's ok? Good luck with TTC xx

Karmanna13 · 05/05/2014 13:38

Thanks Tranquility and sorry to hear about your ectopic. Feel free to ask for advice and I'll answer as best as I can! xx
