Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

I'm planning to test on Mother's Day Smile if AF hasn't got me fankle. What about you?

spining I found Chinese herbs helped me improve my crazy cycles, did Accupuncture a few times, but second everything fankle said. If money was no issue I'd prob keep at it. May venture back next month but its more desperation than logic.

Thanks gingerbread trying not get hung up on OPKs, but hey poas is fun isn't it! ;)

I'm not from Devon, I'm an Essex girl. Lol

spinningirl10 · 25/03/2014 11:41

Fankle, thanks for the info. Reflexology sounds more enjoyable than having needles stuck in you! Although I keep thinking about trying it I really think we should dtd more often Grin I might give reflexology a try just to see what she says about my cycles, if anything!Grin

Ginger.....I love clotted cream on homemade scones, yum!! The idea of being on a train and heading into London sounds fab to me, all those shops Grin

MelMc73 · 25/03/2014 12:44

Mmmm...clotted cream....mmmm Envy! I'm going to Devon for my holibags in July so I'll be right into the clotted cream on arrival lol. I'm from Central Scotland.....mmm haggis Grin

Gingerbreadlady1 · 25/03/2014 12:48

Mampam, Fankle, Ginger I'm going to hold on testing until I'm late....eek! Probably next Monday...at least that way I can feel positive for a little longer :)

Tranquility I've just bought some Conceive Plus and will be following Ginger's advice on where to use it (and not!) :)

KEGirl I watched a prog last night called Adopt my Baby, a 16 year old girl who needed to find adoptive parents for her beautiful little newborn girl. Why would I watch such a prog? I cried all the way through, and MelMC I watched Little Miss Sunshine yesterday and cried at that! :)

Spinning I tried reflexology for a couple of months, so relaxing, but I don't honestly think it made a difference for me, my reflexologist said it can help to regulate cycles and ovulation.

MelMc73 · 25/03/2014 13:17

I'm from West Lothian Ginger but I work in the Weege!!

mampam · 25/03/2014 14:02

Can you give me your opinion on this please as people on the pregnancy site think I'm being unreasonable or just stupidly hormonal.

2 of my colleagues have just announced that they are pregnant, both about 15 weeks. I overheard them talking about the midwife appointments that are held at the local children's centre. They were talking about the fact that when you go for an appointment you have to 'sign in' and when you do you can see all the other names of the people that have had appointments with the midwife that day. One of my colleagues went on to say "that's how I found out that so and so was pregnant and there were only 2 names on the list I didn't recognise".

I know there's always a chance that you can bump into someone you know at an appointment but I don't want to tell anyone I'm pg until after the 12 week scan and certainly do not want my colleagues to know before then but the thought of signing in so that other people can see my name at the booking appointment is not a nice prospect to me. Does this sound odd to you?

Inshock do you think you'll last until Monday? I know I wouldn't!!Grin

Tranquilitybaby · 25/03/2014 14:11

I would hate that mampam, that's not on at all!

mampam · 25/03/2014 14:18

Thankyou Tranquility I know it's only a name but you wouldn't go into a GP's surgery and expect to see a list of patients names.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 25/03/2014 14:20

I think that's bloody ridiculous mampam, what a ridiculous system. I'd phone them & explain your very sound concerns regarding confidentiality. Can affect your job & all sorts.

OP posts:
Gingerbreadlady1 · 25/03/2014 14:21

Or a list of names with the reasons they were visiting the gp!

Inshock73 · 25/03/2014 14:30

I'm totally with you on that Mampam Last year I had the loveliest of bosses and confided in her that I was pregnant when I was only 6 weeks, a week later we were on a team lunch (only a few of us, very small team) and she bought a bottle of champagne and announced my pregnancy! I was horrified! Especially as 3 weeks later I had a mc. I do think it's very indiscreet of your colleagues to talk about the names on the list. I would explain the situation when you arrive for your appt.

I doubt I'll be able to! :)

MelMc73 · 25/03/2014 15:23

I definitely would have issues with that as well mampam! You should call them to discuss!

mampam · 25/03/2014 16:09

When I make my appointment I think I'm going to have to mention it. Have been putting off making the booking appt as I wasn't sure what to do. Almost tempted to see GP first and see what she has to say about it.

To be fair to my colleagues they were horrified too that they could read 'the list'.

Inshock Shock that's a dreadful thing for your boss to have done. Did she ever apologise? Or did you complain?

Inshock73 · 25/03/2014 17:15

I didn't Mampam it was without any malice, totally inappropriate, but she had her children at 37 and 40 so she was genuinely thrilled for me, just a bit carried away.

MelMc73 · 26/03/2014 07:10

Morning ladies! Well I had a visitor last night. AF arrived 3 days earlier than predicted Sad. So this was a 26 day cycle....last one was 41! Back to the guessing game then!

Fankletastic · 26/03/2014 11:21

Sorry to hear that Mel.
Inshock and Ginger, I'm not planning to test early...I really don't think this month will be any different so why waste a test?

I'm a Scot too! But I live in England. Yorkshire pudding anyone?! Grin

MelMc73 · 26/03/2014 11:25

Ordered some clearblue advanced digital opk thingummies to try....on the positive side, hubby is delighted at the prospect of more DTD this month lol.

Inshock73 · 26/03/2014 12:52

Sorry to hear that Mel. Loving the positive attitude tho, I use the CB advanced opk and find it totally reliable. Trust a man to see the bright side :) Mine thought it was fantastic for a few months, now he complains he feels used :)

Fankle I'm still in the game at the mo altho flat out today with a migraine so thinking I might be out in the next couple of days...

Love yorkshire puds! :) I'm a londoner, fish & chips anyone? :)

KEGirlOnFire · 26/03/2014 17:01

Hi all!!

Inshock, I never need asking twice about Fish and Chips - still my fave take-away!!!

Ladies, I'm having a mare. I am due to OV in a couple of days and I don't know how but I've managed to have an allergic reaction to something and my arms and legs are covered in a really itchy rash.

But typically, this is the worst time to take antihistamines because apparently they stop the production of CM so are not recommended during this stage of the month when TTC.

Has anyone got any suggestions??? The itching is so awful.

I'm going to have a (not too hot) bath tonight in some of DD's excema stuff (she doesn't really have it now but we have some for emergencies).

It's just awful, I can't stop scratching!!!

Hope everyone else is OK - anymore BFPs?

xx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 26/03/2014 17:09

I get horrendous prickly heat so have some suggestions. Ask chemist for aqueous calamine lotion. Any menthol based lotion (even after sun), try yoghurt on it. And this is strange but works. Try talc on it. Hope something helps!

OP posts:
mampam · 26/03/2014 17:51

KEGirl that sounds awful, I too was going to suggest calamine lotion. Your dd's excema stuff sounds like a good idea, won't hurt to try anyway. Let us know how you get on.

Although I am Devonshire born and bred, I love fish and chips, yorkshire puds, Cornish pasties, Shortbread and of course cream teas! Hmm wonder why my diets never work Hmm

Tranquilitybaby · 26/03/2014 22:48

Sorry to hear that Mel xxxx

kegirl take the antihistamines and use a lubricant instead. One of the sperm assisting ones like concieve plus or preseed might help? Xx hope you feel better soon x

Inshock73 · 27/03/2014 07:36

Morning all, how we all doing?

I'm on cd26 about 11/12dpo, resisting the urge to test! Was feeling really positive this month, had cramps and spotting, but now had a migraine for 2 days :( so think it might be unwelcome sign AF is about to show up.
