Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Katniss I don't know when or how to make that decision. I think for me, I can take another few months of disappointment before I stop trying, but in all honesty I'm never going to go back on contraception and so I'm never going to give up hope - I'll just drink more and stop taking pregnacare vitamins!

You'll feel better in a few days once AF has left. Onwards and upwards.

I'm also worried as while my cycles are longer (consisten 37-41 days since October) AF is only visiting for three days at a time. Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 10/03/2014 21:18

Hi everyone. Been a busy old day on here, I like it! I've been driving south for 7 hours today, knackered. Away for work again, never bloody home. Better not ov early this month. Gonna read back to catch up.....

katniss so sorry af came! hope you're ok. Spoil yourself with a great wine, rare steak, whatever non preg friendly activity takes your fancy. I think you will know when you need a break. Annoying but true, my friend who's newborn I visited on sat, 39(now 40) ttc #1 for a year, stopped trying=preg 3 was later. Seriously. I think the stress of it all is really counterproductive but impossible to avoid (I find anyway).

maybe I had very long & irregular cycles so started a load of herbal stuff and it seemed to help, agnus castus is the best. Happy to pass on my long list of lotions & potions lol.

mampam hope you got your form finished, jealous of you and katniss living in Devon, all that clotted cream....mmmm....fx you're our next bfp.

exhausted thanks for sharing your positive story, we love hearing them!

frankle I'm not sure how to post the link so you click on it & it takes you here but this is it here:

Morning all,

Reposting your link Ginger, hopefully it will work when you click on it.

www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2013/07/how-long-can-you-wait-to-have-a-baby/309374/

AF isn't quite here but the coloured CM is so it should be here in the next few days. I haven't been taking Folic Acid for months now because I found it too depressing, but then my mind starts stupid things like saying 'maybe that's why I haven't got the BFP' so this month I will take it once AF has gone.

Hope everyone is OK!! Smile

mampam · 11/03/2014 11:02

Morning, how is everyone feeling today? I agree with Ginger that you will know when the time is right to take a break Katniss and Maybe. Has anyone ever read Zita West's fertility book? It's a good read and it gives case studies too of all sorts of scenarios, here is the link "http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fertility-Conception-Zita-West/dp/1409346773/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394534747&sr=1-4&keywords=zita+west#reader_1409346773" might be worth a read, I swear it was this book that got me pg with dc3.

Ginger The only problem with all the clotted cream (and pasties) and correct me if I'm wrong Katniss is that it does nothing for the figure Grin a moment on lips...............

Yesterday I POA(very cheapy)S and thought maybe there could be the faintest of faintest lines in a certain light if you stared at it very hard!! Did another cheapy test this morning first thing and thought I could see another very faint line so asked DH his opinion. He said he could see something but told me to wait until the weekend to see. Ignoring him I went off and did a First Response and yep BFP!

I'm shocked to be honest, I wasn't mentally prepared for a positive result. I still feel like AF could come at any moment so not going to get my hopes up. What should I do about my job application? Should I apply for the job anyway and if I got it pretend I had no idea or just leave it? WWYD?

mampam · 11/03/2014 11:04

Sorry that link didn't work here

Katnisscupcake · 11/03/2014 11:56

Mampam!!!!! Woohoo!!!! That is fab news!! Two BFPs for the thread. That is fantastic!! I had a funny feeling in my water about you Wink. Pass some of that good luck down to me via Totnes will you??? Smile

I almost did an internet cheapie this morning (just to confirm that I'm NOT PG) and realized I only had one left. So I'll order some more and won't allow myself to test until they've arrived. I know that by then AF will be in full swing so I'll have to wait until next month.

You're absolutely right about the clotted cream by the way. Tastes damn good though!!

xx

Katnisscupcake · 11/03/2014 11:57

By the way, still apply for the job. If you had filled in the application form yesterday, you really wouldn't have known!! So go for it. x

maybefaraway · 11/03/2014 12:33

Katniss are you sure you shouldn't POAS?? I usually only get a few hours or max one day of coloured mucus (bleurgh) before AF shows up. I wouldn't be able to resist in your shoes, but you are being very sensible.

Huge congrats to Mampam, what lovely news. And yes, defo go for the job as intended if you want to.

Gingerbread I haven't even heard of Agnus Cactus but shall pop into Holland and Barratt next time I'm passing and stock up?? Any others? Thank you!

mampam · 11/03/2014 12:36

Thanks Katniss maybe there's something funny in the water in this part of the South Hams, perhaps you need to get over to these parts for a cream tea at the weekend!? Grin You never know it might be catching.

I ordered some internet cheapies last week and they only took about 3 days to arrive. When is AF actually due?

Katnisscupcake · 11/03/2014 13:15

I'm 10DPO at the moment so AF should turn up in 4 days.

I usually start getting coloured CM about 5 or 6 days before AF. Maybe just one wipe's worth a day, the rest of the day it will be normal. It's happened every month maybe so I'm pretty confident that AF will turn up. Usually from about 12DPO the CM has some streaks of red and then AF turns up properly either the next day or the day after.

So pretty much by 10DPO I know it's over. But I can't do anything until AF turns up. I still sometimes POAS even though I know there's no hope. But if it did come up as BFP, I wouldn't be happy because I'd know that something was wrong because any pre-AF bleeding with me as led to MC.

Plus, if it was Implementation Bleeding it would be more than just the odd wipe, I believe...

Trouble is, I want to eat loads of chocolate because I feel crap about AF but I'm supposed to be dieting - ggrrrrrrrr...

Katnisscupcake · 11/03/2014 13:16

I'm over to Pennywell at the weekend so maybe I could do a slight diversion Mampam - LOL

Gingerbreadlady1 · 11/03/2014 16:12

mampam huge congratulations!!! Fantastic news, wow, you are super fertile as that didn't take long. Has it cheered up dh as hoped?

maybe I was taking lots of stuff, will post it when home as can't remember. I did a lot of research but am no expert so look into it as homeopathic can be quite stong!

Katniss gotta love Pennywell Smile hopefully the weather will be fantastic again, plenty for your dd to do if not though. I'll be over to N A on Thurs as dd has managed to break her brace so I'll make sure to cast lots of baby dust around as I'm driving Grin

Ginger Yes I should say it's done the trick, DH is very excited, it's me that is still in shock! Just cannot believe it's real.

TawdryTatou · 11/03/2014 18:47

Ok, on the 2ww and am trying hard not to symptom-spot.

So the sore tingly boobs, swollen tummy, constant hunger, metallic taste in my mouth, tearfulness and odd desire to eat celery are just me being ridiculous. Aren't they?

Katnisscupcake · 11/03/2014 18:59

Mampam, Pennywell is awesome. We've had the season tickets for the last 4 years (since DD was 6 months old) and she loves it. Please do spread that babydust. Although DH and I have just had a massive row (about cars of all things!!) and he's now saying we can't afford another DC. We can (and I bloody know because I'm the higher earner and I manage all the finances), but I'll let him have his whinge.

Tawdry, sounds promising to me!! Smile

Ginger, I'll be interested in seeing your list of potions aswell!!

TawdryTatou · 11/03/2014 19:03

I dunno Katniss, I think it would be too early for symptoms. AF not due until 22nd March.

Am massively fat, though.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 11/03/2014 19:09

It does sound promising tawdry....

My potions were to try to sort out my irregular cycles & seemed to help but not eliminate problems. Will post it when I get home.

What ttc things are people doing? I'm gonna try pineapple this month after ov, and swigging cough mixture.

OP posts:
Gingerbreadlady1 · 11/03/2014 19:10

You okay mampam?

OP posts:
TawdryTatou · 11/03/2014 19:11

Not too soon for symptoms? I'm not sure how the maths work, as with the first two I got a BFP first go.

mampam · 11/03/2014 19:17

Tawdry sounds very promising. How far into the 2ww are you?

Katniss Men are rubbish at doing the finances in my opinion and they always say that you can't afford DC. In reality you manage because you have to - that's what us women are fabulous at doing!!! DC #4 is going to mean a new car for us or minibus or something. We're having an extension built at the moment...good job too Smile
Have you ever been to Woodlands just outside Dartmouth? A good day out, I'm sure your DD would love it there Smile

TawdryTatou · 11/03/2014 19:19

Four days Blush

Katnisscupcake · 11/03/2014 20:08

I haven't taken dd to woodlands yet - but I think I will this year.

Hmmm that might be a bit soon tawdry... implantation doesn't occur until 6-10dpo and then the hcg levels need to build up. Unless you might have ovulated earlier?

TawdryTatou · 11/03/2014 20:11

Cycle's bonkers these days. I reckon that these symptoms are symptoms of being hormonal and ovulating. Apart from the fat tum, which is a symptom of no exercise and too many gluten-free biscuits Grin
