So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

That's bonkers, morerum :-/ I vote for seeing somebody else. Can your midwife recommend that you get signed off?

Cake, it's tricky finding the time. It'll be worse when I'm back at work, so I need to get as much as possible done now before coming back to it when I finish again.

Good luck for Thursday, Kt. :-) Apart from tiredness, have you had many other symptoms? Or are you like me and Better?

Mrs, what do you mean by what days? I have to be full time. I have no choice, that's why I had to make my flexible work request to work from home 2 days a week. Which has ended up as secondment! My due date is 7th August, so I imagine I'll have an ELCS on 31st July.

Good luck for tomorrow, mrs. Hopefully she was just having a bad day last time.

Fingers crossed for a shy BFP, Vicky. Is it tomorrow you're testing? Good luck.

HungryHorace · 25/02/2014 20:14

Ooh, and good luck Engels :-)

What plan of action do you have this cycle?!

BetterNotBitter · 25/02/2014 21:21

No time to post properly tonight, just wanted to say hope your appt goes well tomorrow mrs. My consultant appt is at 11am so fingers crossed I get some answers! Will report back and catch up with everyones posts tomorrow :)

Toothpastekissesno2 · 25/02/2014 22:03

Hi everyone. Vicky sorry about the bfn. Better hope the consultant is helpful. Engels u def deserve a bfp next month! Metal hope u are feeling ok and you get back to normal. Hungry that sounds like good news on work.
The two faced one at work is sucking up to me no end. I'm finding myself going along with it for now as it hard to be rude back in an open plan office. I just keep inwardly thinking I don't trust you and what a nasty two faced cow she is!! Anyway think better to bring my stress level down and try not to hate work too much for next few months for the baby's sake.
I leave on 12 June! Seems like a long time off but I do think this preg is going faster than first one.
Glad I'm not alone in problem eaters. He is so chunky and healthy looking u wouldn't know he is a food strike most of the time.
Where is Lucy? Have I missed a name change?!
Rum is it the pelvis thing u have ? Not very good at names! I've been having some nasty twinges but not in that league.

CallingAllEngels · 26/02/2014 06:25

morerum sorry to hear you're in so much pain.

I'm stuck at home with DS today. He had a small surgical procedure yesterday and is still in pain and sicomfort, trouble eating and up crying in the night. Can't send him to nursery and also have a ton of marking and reports t8 do before tomorrow so Disney will be working overtime today in this house!

Will be using opks this month. Everytime we've used opks, I've had a BFP within 3 months (even if they sometimes did end in mc). Kicking off our lucky month with a weekend away in the UK (though in a hotel room with DS so there may not be too much romance going on!) And I'm on half term next week.

Sorry for lack of personals. Can hear DS waking up now.

mrsm22 · 26/02/2014 09:13

Hi everyone, my last wednesday at work!!! YaY!! And as you can see, i am working very hard. Sorry i didn't come back on last night. I'm working til 1pm and then midwife today at 2pm. Hungry - I hope you are right and she is nicer today. Since yesterday morning when i woke up i can feel what i can only describe as pressure in my lower stomach, not pain, but like an awareness and when i'm sat down or laid and i get up it hurts a bit. Is this likely to be bay in a funny position? It's difficult to explain but i hope it's nothing to worry about.

Better - Thank you! I will let you know how i get on this afternoon. How are you doing?
Hungry - Sorry, i forgot you had to go back full time. I don't understand the secondment thing. Will you go back into a different job doing 5 days or am i missing it completely?
Calling - sorry about your DS, what was wrong with him? Poor little boy up crying all night. I hope he gets better soon. My DS had his two year review yesterday with the health visitor. It went well but she will come back in May to see me as I will need a new red book for the month after and she said she will also do a follow up review on my DS because of his speech. Nothing to worry about and she said she had no concerns but it did upset me a little. He talks all day and never stops but still a lot in his own baby language but he understands absolutely everything! And we understand him. He does have about ten words like mama, more, hat etc etc but he hasn't quite put them together yet. She did a lot of tests with him like getting him to do things and his understanding is amazing for a boy of two, which we already knew. For example, if you say to him 'Can you go and get mummy a spoon' he will go into the kitchen drawer and get me one or if you ask him 'where is the cat' in a book, he knows to point to the correct thing. Anything you ask him he fully understands so i'm not too worried as i think it would be worse if his understanding was poor. The health visitor thinks he's very clever and said that becaue he can make us understand everything he is saying and things he wants etc, that he is lazy with putting the words together or actually saying the words. So we have been told to encourage him to say more actual words, like instead of saying 'where is the cat', we need to point to the cat and ask 'what is that'. You get the idea. If he wants a drink, he will bring a cup to me and say 'more more'. She said he was doing really well and that she fully expects by May that there will be some improvement with his verbal speeach and not to worry but as usual, it has worried me a bit as if he didn't improve he might have to go see a speech therapist. ANyway sorry to go on and sorry for the self-centred post, i meant to post about this last night. I think it's good that i'm finishing work on friday as i can devote much more one on one time with my DS.
Has anyone else had the two year review for their DS or DD? If anyone has any tips or advice on things that might help me encourage DS with his speech please let me know. x

mrsm22 · 26/02/2014 09:15

By the way, where is Lucy?

HungryHorace · 26/02/2014 10:00

Mrs, the secondment is a compulsory part of my training contract. Because my firm doesn't practice enough types of law (it's all civil litigation) I need to go somewhere to do at least 60 working days of non-litigious law for my TC to comply with the SRA requirements. This is what I'll be doing when I go back.

So I'll be full time doing my TC at a different place, who get free labour for 60 working days as my firm has to pay me!

Engels, your poor DS. Hope he improves very quickly. Good luck with the OPKs and targeted DTD!

12th June, Toothpaste? What's your due date? I finish on 6th June and I'm way behind you! I have to take all my annual leave before mat leave though, so that accounts for 27.5 working days. :-)

Lucy is now Gingerbread. I've seen her around, just not on here. Understandable, I think. I hope she gets her BFP this month.

mrsm22 · 26/02/2014 11:55

Hi Hungry - I now understand. What date are you going back again, is it next week?

HungryHorace · 26/02/2014 12:03

Yes, Thursday :-(

CallingAllEngels · 26/02/2014 13:39

DS had a growth on his tongue that had to removed under general anaesthetic yesterday. Nothing to worry about, thoug my mind will be at rest at check up in 3 weeks time when they'll y ell us for sure what it was!

His tongue's still swollen and painful so eating and swallowing is hard. Painkillers had worn off last night so he woke up at 2. He's been dribbling like crazy and his speechnis funny.

mrs I wouldn't worry too much about speech. DS had the same issue at his 2 year check up - he was still only sayinv s7ngle words so they said they'd ring back in a few months to see how he was getting along and if it was still a prob they'd make an extra appt. But within a few weeks he was stringing sentences together.

mrsm22 · 26/02/2014 14:14

Hi Calling - so sorry for your DS. I'm glad it wasn't anything to worry about but just a shame for a little one to go through general anaesthetic etc, he must be a brave little soldier. How is he managing with his eating now? Thanks for your reassuring words about my DS and the speech thing. They do say boys are a bit more lazy than girls. I hope he does the same as your DS and starts to come on leaps and bounds with those words getting strung together.
Hungry - I will be thinking of you next thurs x
I'm just sat in the doctors waiting to see the midwife. My appointment was 2pm but they are running over.

mrsm22 · 26/02/2014 17:25

Hi all, just a quickie. I got to my midwife appointment to be told that my midwife has left and gone somewhere else so I've got a new midwife. She seemed really nice and helpful so fingers crossed that's that sorted. Heard baby's heartbeat and I'm measuring exact for 25 weeks. Checked my wee and blood pressure and both ok so all good. How is everyone else today? I'm so glad I'm finishing work in 2 more days.

morerummorefun · 26/02/2014 20:31

mrs that's good news and how lucky are you finishing in 2 days!

calling hope your ds is feeling better soon x
ive got 7 weeks left or 15 days and im gonna do my best to stick it out x

Toothpastekissesno2 · 26/02/2014 20:50

Poor ds Engels. Hope he gets better fast. Talking about development my ds is almost 17 months and still refusing to walk. He has done it but just refuses to most of the time unless holding on to someone. He has hit all the milestones later than majority in terms of crawling etc but I think he just wants to do it in his own time. Def don't think he isn't bright and interested though.
Had dr check up today and baby heartbeat strong and healthy.
My due date is 3 July hungry so will be going on mat leave three weeks prior. Wish I could do earlier but think we need the £!
Third friend in a row that had her second baby today and it happened within about two hours with no time for pain relief. This scares me!!

junkfoodaddict · 26/02/2014 21:52

Hi! Can I join please??? Grin
We're not supposed to be TTC number 2 until next month but after a couple of 'naughty' sessions in the sheets between 18th and 21st Feb, I have been getting unusual cramping pains on and off and heavy boobs when the bra comes off. AF not due until March 6th and these symptoms don't show themselves until 4/5 day pre-AF. I might be, but a big part of me thinks not. Thought I'd join you all now considering the circumstances.
Already got a DH of nearly 4 years (together for nearly 8) with a DS who has just turned 2.

lovesmycake · 27/02/2014 10:01

Morning hope your DS is on the mend Engels.

Hungry im working from home today and whilst dusting working I saw the cross stitch that my mum made for me when I was born one of those things that you don't 'see' anymore because they have been there a while it made me think of you and also get a bit emotional at the thought that DS might put his patchwork somewhere special one day!

Also Mrs my first niece (I now have 8 nieces and nephews!) was really late to talk because she had learned baby sign language really well and so didn't need to, so I'm sure your theory about your LO just not needing to talk because you understand what he needs already is spot on Smile.

Welcome junk i'm very new too fx that you are PG when can you test?

HungryHorace · 27/02/2014 13:22

Hi Junk! When are you going to POAS?! I'm an addict with no more reason to POAS anymore. Boo! Good luck. :-)

That's really sweet, Cake. I hope DD and DC2 do display their cross stitches somewhere. Apparently my teenage nephew and niece still like theirs, which is good!

I was a late walker. About 18 months, I think. I cruised a bit before then, but not much. And I'm fine now. I can walk and roll and everything (I wasn't a roller either!).

Just had my meet and greet for my secondment. They're really nice. Think I'll enjoy working there, especially as it'll be something new every day. Just my cup of tea. :-)

SwedeAway · 27/02/2014 15:05

Hi all. So have not been around as I have been in hospital since Mon. Got discharged yesterday. Started off with flu last Fri. On Sun I was feeling really bad, very strange, my whole body was aching to the point where I could not sit or lay down. Went to doctor on Mon and he examined me and took a urine test and was told to go to hospital immediately as he suspected I may have meningitis. So rushed to hospital and had to have several tests and was hooked up to drips, antibiotics etc. it was very scary. Turns out it was not meningitis but a severe kidney infection. So am on antibiotics which has to be injected daily. Feeling pretty rough but at least I am home now. Pregnancy seems fine still, thankfully. Suffering from severe nausea and surviving on toast only as everything else makes me want to vomit.

So too much going on here. Looking forward to some rest as I am feeling totally run down.

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 27/02/2014 15:30

Bloody hell, Swede. I'm glad you're on the mend now. Must've been so scary.

Nausea is good though! :-) I hope you'll make sure you're better before going back to work!

SwedeAway · 27/02/2014 15:39

Hungry, yes plan to go back to work on Mon if fully recovered. Re the nausea, i had none with dd so this is all new to me. Everything makes me want to throw up. Can only drink fanta and eat toast, it's not healthy but nothing else works!

mrsm22 · 27/02/2014 16:36

Hi ladies, how is everyone today?
Hungry - Great news about the job, it sounds like it will be something new and exciting for you and will therefore probably make the time go quicker for you. Even better if you actually enjoy it.
Swede - Sorry to hear how poorly you have been. That must have been awful for you having to stay in hospital and feel so dreadful while pregnant. I hope you feel much better soon.
Hi and welcome to Junk!
Morerum - 7 weeks is not that long to go. Good for you, i hope you stick it out like you want to.
Toothpaste - Don't worry about your DS and walking. My niece was nearly 18 months when she took her first steps, we all wondered if she would ever take a first step. They are all so different with their development and i think boys are more lazy, everyone says that! If he has already done it, he probably thinks why should he do it again. Great news that all is well with baby... And it's great news about your freind and her third birth, that should give us all hope. On that note, has anyone heard of a book by Ina May Gaskin? I think it's called, 'A guide to childbirth'. Well i have ordered it from Amazon yesterday as i have heard it is very good and it is meant to prepare you for a positive birth experience unmedicated and i really want to try go for a home birth with no pain relief (if i can).
Loves - I think you are right with what you say about your niece. My DS makes us all understand him fully so doesn't need to say the actual words.
My last day at work tomorrow. About an hour ago they all gathered around my desk and presented me with a card and a gift (in an envelope, so probably a gift voucher). I will open tonight with DH and DS.

HungryHorace · 27/02/2014 17:52

How exciting you're finishing, mrs :-) Jealous!

And I said that to DH. I think I'd be miserable in my normal place, but should love this! It's hopefully worked well.

Kt1991 · 27/02/2014 18:42

Hey everyone! Will read back properly later on tonight, but just thought id let you know I had my scan today! So relieved for it to be all ok, due 11th sept! Exactly 12 weeks today!

BetterNotBitter · 27/02/2014 19:11

Hi everyone!

morerum I cannot believe they didn't sign you off! it doesn't seem right! How are you holding up??

Hope your ds has recovered engels a weekend away sounds lovely! fingers crossed the pols bring you luck ASAP.

mrs what a stroke of luck re midwife swap!! That's brilliant, will make all the difference. And hurrah for finishing work, you can join me in the SAHM club! What was your birth like with ds?

I haven't heard of book you are talking about but I am going to try hypnobirthing this time. I had a lovely water birth last time but it was very long and I started on the gas and air at 5cm and it was another 10 hours before dd arrived so I was pretty disorientated by then. This time I'd like to only use gas and air towards the end. That depends on me having a water birth again which after yesterday's consultant appt isn't looking likely but I'm pretending it's going to until I'm definitely told otherwise!

Fantastic news re your secondment meeting hungry that should make going back so much easier!

swede that sounds awful! poor you! it's the last thing you need. Hope you feel better soon, good news that baby looks ok though. I really feel for you with the nausea, I had it last time and it's horrible, at least it's a reassuring sign though!

Brilliant news kt good for academic years too.....!!
