So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

claudee, still no sign. It's quite the mystery! had a bit of cramping on and off for a few days now but that's all. Bizarre. I suppose it is only 3 months since I had the Mirena removed, so maybe my cycle is still settling down... though I thought it already had Confused

mrsm22 · 11/02/2014 20:39

Hi everyone, sorry I've been absent for a while! How is everyone? I've got a bit of reading up/ catching up to do so I will do that and then post.
Hungry - How did your meeting go with work ? What suggestions were out forward if guy don't mind me asking? For what it's worth I think all HC/HR departments are pretty rubbish. I know ours aren't great. I hope you get a good result . How long will you have to wait to hear?

HungryHorace · 11/02/2014 20:50

Hi mrs. Hope you're ok :-)

The three alternatives are:

  1. Work from home twice a week;
  2. Condense my hours and work 4 long days (don't like that one!); and
  3. Go on secondment when I get back to work, instead of working where I normally would, as it's much closer to home.

My preferred option is 3. But I have to wait 2 weeks for the decision.

My boss and head HR honcho were better than the shower I saw last time!

Not long til you finish now, mrs...how many working days left?

HazyShadeOfWinter · 11/02/2014 21:15

Ooh Claudee, does flashing smiley mean something extra? (never did OPKs...) Good timing though, for DTD. Fingers crossed the swimmers catch the egg.

I am roughly 7 weeks, maybe eight. We know conception date but have irregular cycles so won't know for sure til the scan, which is on 14 March. Ages away! felt rough all morning, in desperation at lunch I bought some travel sicknes wrist bands and they, plus lucozade and digestives, seemed to help. DH thinks I am chronically tired now compared to last time - DS still unreliable at sleeping through - so though I don't feel as accutely tired I'm very sicky and headachey. If that makes sense.

Hungry, they probably got scared after the last lot were so shite and decided to pull out big, well-briefed guns. Hope you get option 3.

Hi Mrs, hope you are well!

Metalhead · 11/02/2014 22:20

Just a quick hello from me, sorry I haven't been able to read back over everyone's updates.

Tomorrow is D-day for me, got my scan at 3pm to see whether my bean has continued to grow or not... had successfully distracted myself from brooding about it all evening by watching some tense TV, but now I'm in bed and getting very nervous! Sad

guinnessgirl · 11/02/2014 22:25

Metal, will be thinking and praying for you at 3 tomorrow. Good luck!

mrsm22 · 11/02/2014 22:46

Hi Hungry and Hazy and Metal!
Metal - wishing you that best of luck tomorrow for your scan. I'll definitely be popping on to see how you get on. Pleas try not to worry too much,
Hungry and Hazy - I am good thanks, baby is kicking away as I type this out. I'm 23 weeks on Friday! I have just 3 weeks left at work, or 8 and a half days and I am counting down!
Hungry. - your place of work sounds like mine. We have lots of secondments too. I'm a bit confused by your option 3 though. If you have to go back, when will that be and would it still only be for a short time? Are you just having to go back so that you get paid mat leave? I'd be tempted with option one as at least you'd be at home some of the time with your DD and you wouldn't be going in as much.
Hazy - I can sympathise with the chronic tiredness! I have been really tired. It's definitely got better lately but did last longer than the 12 weeks and it is awful feeling that tired. I usually fall asleep with my DS every night.
Oh update with the sleeping situation - you might all remember me talking about trying to get my DS into his own bed after I finish work. We've decided to go for bunk beds that detach into two singles as we thought this might be more fun and appealing for DS and he can eventually share when baby is big enough. We've been looking around and Bensons for beds have a lovely white bunk bed called Alpine if anyone wants to have a look on the website , it's in the sale and looks nice so hoping to maybe order that this coming weekend.

mrsm22 · 11/02/2014 22:49

Morerum - how are you?

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 00:06

Good luck tomorrow, Metalhead. Xx

Mrs, I'm going back because my paid maternity leave ends. It also coincides with my qualifying weeks to determine my 90% pay.

I only get SMP so don't have to go back but can't afford not to.

I prefer option 3 as I'd get to see DD every day. With option 2 I'd have to leave by 6.20am and wouldn't get back til 6.30pm, on 3 days of the week. It'd kill me. I wouldn't do more than 9 weeks.

If I get option 3, I can leave at 7.30-7.40 and be home by 6 every day. I'd also work about 14 weeks and it'd take me up to 32-33 weeks, then I'd have baby almost as soon as annual leave was finished.

I have to have the secondment as part of the training contract, so it makes sense to do it now.

So that's why option 3 works for me. :-)

Well done on the bed idea for DS. Hopefully it'll help.

And YY to tiredness. I keep sleeping on the sofa then staying awake in bed for ages though. Like now. Sigh.

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 00:09

And it's also not my decision. My boss will tell me what's what, so it's what they prefer too!

SwedeAway · 12/02/2014 05:45

Metal, thinking of you today!!

BetterNotBitter · 12/02/2014 09:42

Morning everyone.

Sounds like your meeting went well hungry, has your nausea passed now? I hope you get option 3!

Oh metal thinking of you today! Wishing you much luck.

Your scan is the day after mine hazy!

What did you decide to do re the job swede?

Kt1991 · 12/02/2014 11:17

Morning all, good luck for today metal! Let us know how you get on. Hey mrs was gonna post a msg last night to say hadnt heard from you for a while, good luck with the bed situation, hope it helps! Can't believe you've not got long left at work!
Glad your meeting went well hungry I hope you get the option you want! Sorry if you've already said, but when do you find out?

Just wondered, it probably won't be the same in different areas, but how long you waited for your scan dates to come through for 12 weeks since seeing the MW? I'm getting impatient!! Would just like a date to look forward to and can countdown too!!

BetterNotBitter · 12/02/2014 11:53

Hi kt how are you? I had my booking in at 5 weeks got my scan date at about 9 weeks, so 4 weeks in between. How far along are you now?

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 12:13

Kt, our midwife and scan appts come together, which doesn't help, does it?!

Better, I still have a touch of nausea, mainly when I'm hungry, but it's not so bad. Just mainly feeling not pregnant! How about you?

Kt, they have 14 days from the date of the meeting to come back to me. Really hope it's 3...though the person who's meant to be going on secondment on 10th may not be impressed! :-)

What time is your scan, Metalhead?

Kt1991 · 12/02/2014 12:19

Hi better I'm good thanks I am about 10 weeks, that's hat MW is saying for the moment anyway! How far are you now? Oh it's frustrating how its done differently hungry! I'm already starting to show a bit so can't really hide it for too much longer! Fingers crossed you get option 3!!

morerummorefun · 12/02/2014 12:46

hello everyone hope all my bump buddies are doing well and more of you lot will be joining us soon!
im feeling really down today dont know why think I need a hug. or a kick up the ass.
metal I hope everything goes well at your scan - im sure it will. waiting for my physio apt I have turned up 30 mins early! doh!

BetterNotBitter · 12/02/2014 16:15

hungry same here! still no symptoms really. I don't even have the bump I had last time, in fact I think I've lost weight somehow! That said, quite often now I get a bit of a cramp pain then you can see a baby shaped bulge stick out and wriggle about for abit before going back in! Still bleeding every morning. Gonna really pressure the midwife about it on Friday, I think it's disgraceful that no one has looked into it.

Gosh kt 10 weeks already, why not give them a ring about the scan appt? Wow, showing already, maybe you're further sling than the mw thinks!

Hi morerum how did physio go? How far along are you now?? I hate down feeling days. I had one of those yesterday but that was down to my horrid mil rather than hormones!

BetterNotBitter · 12/02/2014 16:16

Hope metal has got on well

morerummorefun · 12/02/2014 17:04

better ive got a belt support to wear when im not working and the next step is crutches Sad .
im 23&3 days so still got a long road ahead of me. i was secretly hoping theyd sign me off but I think it needs to be a gp that does that.
How are feeling whens your scan? Xx

Metalhead · 12/02/2014 17:32

Hi all, it's not good news here I'm afraid. There was no heartbeat and CRL was smaller than last time, so it looks like a missed mc. Got an appt at the hospital tomorrow morning to confirm and discuss options.

I'm obviously gutted, but I think because I've had two weeks to prepare for the worst it's not come as such a big shock, and I'm kind of feeling ok (at the moment at least).

Thanks for all your support ladies, it means a lot! xx

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 17:46

Ah, Metal, I'm so so sorry. Take care and look after yourself. xx

Better, you definitely need looking at. If you were 20 weeks you'd have to go in for monitoring with a bleed, so igniting you now is odd. :-/

Do you still think boy? What did you decide to do re finding out the sex?

Morerum, maybe you should go and get signed off. It might be better all round. Though do you get sick pay?

BetterNotBitter · 12/02/2014 18:05

Oh metal that's awful news, I hope youre as ok as you can be. The time to prep yourself will have helped but still doesn't detract from whats happened. Thinking of you and your family x

I know hungry and ignoring it for so long, its been 5 weeks now. They just keep saying as long as its not fresh red blood and not accompanied by pain or illness then they aren't worried but noone has actually done any tests? Not a water sample, blood tests, internal swabs, nothing!
I'm trying to push it to the back of my mind but still concerned it may be a sign somethings wrong, especially as I should have been consultant led as I'm apparently such high risk and I havent been.

Yeah, I still think its a boy, im sure of it. Still no conclusion re the gender. I did offer a deal that I chose my favourite name if its a girl (as my husband doesn't really like the name) and we can find out. But he didnt go for it! Spoil sport!

BetterNotBitter · 12/02/2014 18:06

morerum if you're finding work too much I'd ask them to sign you off. Must be awful in all that pain :(

CallingAllEngels · 12/02/2014 18:56

So sorry to hear your news metal ((((hugs))))
