So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

Don't tempt fate...you'll end up being as sick as a dog soon, otherwise!

Have you decided what to do about the job opportunity?

I've got my flexible work request appeal meeting today. Not looking forward to it at all. Thankfully I've got someone in with me this time, so they can't be shitty with me!

Hopefully they will cock up and mention my pregnancy, which is irrelevant to this process. Just want it over with now.

SwedeAway · 10/02/2014 07:55

Oh Hungry, good luck for today's meeting. I hope they treat you fair and if not that you can kick some a$$. They must do right by you.

Have not made up my mind regarding the job opportunity. I am awaiting final confirmation as to what my increase would be. I need to weigh that against the cost of a full time nanny which I would need if I took the job. If the increase covers the full time nanny and then some then its worth going for however if I end up out of pocket then obviously I would not consider it.

Good luck today hungry .

It's a horrible feeling isn't it swede ? Makes you feel you can't get excited about your pg. Keeping everything crossed for you that this is a sticky bean. x

Time is going so slowly. Isn't it time for me to ttc yet?! My DM was chatting to me yesterday about my cousin who is due in April. I had just found out that I was pg when she first told me that cousin was pg and was itching to tell DM. DM's NDN's daughter is also pg - with twins! Bumps and babies everywhere! I really hope that things happen quickly (within 3 months) for us this time. I don't know how I'll feel if we get to June ( mc due date) and I'm not pg. Sad

HungryHorace · 10/02/2014 09:07

I need to kick ass at the end anyway as they've not followed procedure. Why do law firms think that employment legislation doesn't apply to them?

I'm just so glad I've someone in with me, as my firm's HR are total knobs.

When will you find out about the salary, Swede? And there's definitely no point unless you actually see a rise after expenses.

Engels, when is DTD time? Fingers crossed it happens quickly.

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 10/02/2014 09:21

Good luck today Hungry, hope it goes well for you, and hope they don't make you feel like sh** or put you in an awkward position. You've got all the right knowledge under your belt and aren't afraid to use it!! Just think the light is at the end of the tunnel!
Swede that makes sense about the job, it only makes sense to take it if the finances work out and it doesn't leave you out of pocket.
Oh Engels, you poor thing, the waiting game is horrid, I can imagine it would be even worse having to wait to DTD. I'm sure you will catch it in the first 3 months, you know you can get pregnant and you surely deserve to carry it to term. Will the doctors/mw monitor you closely once you get your bfp?
Right we are off to music and dance now, hope everyone has a good day.

CallingAllEngels · 10/02/2014 09:37

Have to wait for AF first which will be end of next week, and then another 2 weeks for 8v if my cycles are anything to go by. This m8nth was the first month we could have ttc since getting the all clear but we agreed to wait to avoid my best friend's wedding in the UK.

I'm at home with ds and bored!

claudeekishi · 10/02/2014 10:39

Hello all,

Good luck today Hungry. Don't take any nonsense :) And Swede good luck with your decision making.

Still not even a peep of a positive on an OPK. I have both the digital and non-digital kind. If anything the lines seem to be getting LIGHTER on the non-digitals. Yet I have lots of cm today. So am feeling a bit cross with it all. According to my app I am due to ovulate on the 14th, so maybe won't get a positive for another couple of days. But I guess I hoped that my cycle would be a bit shorter than 36 days this month because of all the weird spotting before AF I had last month.

I'm just feeling paranoid now. Before I got pregnant with DD I distinctly remember getting ovulation pains every month. Enough to say 'ow, my ovaries' to DP! I'm nearly sure that haven't felt that at all since coming off the pill last July. After 13 months of breastfeeding and no AF followed by 6 months of the pill, I worry that all is still not as it should be.

Just having a moan really. Brew to all except swede who could probably do with a glass of iced water instead!

HazyShadeOfWinter · 10/02/2014 10:54

hello everyone, just making a quick post as you had fallen off my TIO list.
Starting to feel first trimester tired and if I don't getenoug sleep I feel awful in morning so early nights and no MN for me for a few days.

Will catch up properly at lunch, but hope everyone's Monday is going ok

BetterNotBitter · 10/02/2014 17:39

Oh engels it does seem to be going slowly! Pregnancy and babies pop up everywhere when you're TTC it's so unhelpful! Hope you're ok.

How did it go today hungry? Hope not too stressful, it's the last thing you need!

How's things with you gingerbread? we also do a dance class which dd loves! I don't think I commented on the ridiculous false advertising of the hours on that job! How annoying! I'm surprised they can get away with that.

Oh no claude what a frustrating time you're having, how old is your dd now? 13 months of bf is along time, it might just be taking time for your cycles to even out. Try not to worry yourself, though easier said than done I know.

I feel your pain with the tiredness hazy mine still hasn't totally gone, 16 weeks now and still struggling some days!

HungryHorace · 10/02/2014 18:40

Well...that was interesting and probably more productive than I thought it would be. My training principal chaired it and came up with other suggestions as to how it could be worked.

Just need to wait 2 weeks to see what the result is.

I've messaged the guy who came with me to get his thoughts on it just to make sure I'm not being too optimistic.

HungryHorace · 10/02/2014 18:41

Oh, and I've felt soooo sick today at 14+ weeks. Not often I feel ill, but urgh. :-/

guinnessgirl · 10/02/2014 21:24

hungry, that sounds positive. Glad there seems to be a bit of movement at last. Smile

HazyShadeOfWinter · 10/02/2014 21:35

So I didn't get a lunchbreak, trying to catch up quickly before bed...

Congrats on BFP Zara, hope it's sticky Thanks

Sorry about the BFN, Guiness, any sign of AF? Totally understand what you mean about wanting AF to get going so you can move on. When I was younger and had the odd pregnancy scare I often found POAS made AF arrive the next day so maybe poa cheapie s everyday just in case?

Glad the meeting was productive hungry, fingers crossed they can find a resolution that suits you.

Yay for Smile gingerbread, and fx you catch it. Will you DTD a bit more just in case?

swede I am also a bit worried about lack of symptoms. Definitely tired and bit nauseous in mornings but not as bad as last time whereas I think I should be worse as I have a toddler now as well as the pg tiredness. Keep wanting to POAS to check its still there but I know it's pointless.

claude It might not mean anything that you don't have ov pains anymore, simply that your body has changed post-baby. My periods are much less painful post baby, can only assume that womb etc is more practiced at contractions now.

Sorry for missing others, have pounding headache so off to get ready for bed.

guinnessgirl · 10/02/2014 22:13

hazy, thanks - still no sign of AF. Just bought a bumper pack of cheapie tests on eBay under the assumption I'll be needing them again next cycle! This one is freakishly long (for me) so can only assume AF is just around the corner. Sorry to hear you're still feeling rough - hope you feel better for a good night's sleep. Brew

SwedeAway · 11/02/2014 05:06

Morning all. Had one scary experience yesterday. Went for a blood test on Friday, to get confirmation how far along I am. My gyno emailed me yesterday and said that he had received the results and the beta count was very low, it should be more than 1000 and mine was only 324. I thought, oh no, its happended again and obviously panicked. But the gyno said not to worry, it could still be very early and I should go and take another test to see if it had increased. So I ran to the hospital (luckily its two streets away from work) for another blood test. Got a message from my gyno last night that the beta count was now 1170 so very good news! I felt so relieved. So I am off for my first scan next week, probably wont see much but every little bit of reassurance helps and at least I know that yesterday I was still very much pg.

HungryHorace · 11/02/2014 07:13

Bloody hell Swede. Are you OK after the shock of that?

Private healthcare had its ups and downs!

But trebling is good :-) Roll on the scan.

HungryHorace · 11/02/2014 07:19

HazyShadeOfWinter · 11/02/2014 09:26

Oh Swede what a nasty shock, but your gyno sounds lovely and responsive, that's great.
Plus it's great you can think in days, not weeks, till the next positive reassurance.

Still feeling rough here, which is good I suppose...

SwedeAway · 11/02/2014 10:35

Yes it was certainly scary, got very stressed about it but thankfully my gyno was super supportive. He must have sent me 10 emails yesterday and when he got the final good news he also called me to make sure I got the news and would stop fretting.

Decision day for the other job today. Still cannot make up my mind though:(

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 11/02/2014 10:39

I assume you've done your pros and cons list for the job, Swede?

But I would say that maybe if you're not really keen to do it then maybe it's not the right job at the right time?

What does your DH think?

guinnessgirl · 11/02/2014 11:26

hugs for you Swede, that sounds like it was very scary. Glad things are ok after all, praying that scan will be a-ok and reassuring.

Do you have a gut feeling about the job, or is it a case of having to look at pros and cons unemotionally?

HazyShadeOfWinter · 11/02/2014 11:35

Swede can you try to imagine the worst case scenario if you take it, and worse case if you don't, and then you might be able to see which option has the biggest risk?
Conversely, imagine the best case scenario either way, and assess which one has the best potential for you.

claudeekishi · 11/02/2014 12:41

Great news about the surge swede. Your gyno sounds amazing!

Guinness any sign of AF? How are you feeling?

Hazy how far along are you again? The headache itself might be a symptom? I seem to remember getting lots of headaches in early preg.
Anyway, thanks for the words of encouragement, I think you're right that our bodies are just different after pregnancy (to state the obvious).
DTD last night and got a flashing smiley this morning -- woohoo! Might just have to do another one this eve to see what the craic is.

Hope everyone is keeping well, it's bitter and snowing on and off where I am...

claudeekishi · 11/02/2014 12:41

Great news about the surge swede. Your gyno sounds amazing! With these things I nearly always have a gut feeling, have my mind made up but I have to go through a whole process of rationalizing first.
