Sorry, I don't mean "implanted", I mean "put into the lady's womble"

GenericDietCola · 04/06/2014 20:08

I'm a bit out of touch with you all (sorry), but have just caught up and see that Cups has had some bad news. So sorry to hear this, Cups. You've had a very long and trying journey and I am firmly brooking that some good news is on its way for you. Enjoy your NYC trip and very wise to try to stay away from the TTC stuff for a bit but don't stay away from the brokers for too long.

I am still brooking hard for the rest of you. And nice (well you know what I mean) to see some of you back for a second smack of the rat!

Imps, lovely to see you back too! I always wondered if you would change your mind and come back to brooking. Very much hoping your journey is short from here on!

My brooking baby DS is nearly 18 months now - wow. Definitely no more babies here, but I can live vicariously through you lot, can't I?

< Leaves rocky road for all - real rocky road I made with DD at the weekend, I didn't really eat all that was left at lunch time honest >

Pastamancer · 05/06/2014 09:52

Well the plan was to start ttc this month and AF turned up on Monday as she was supposed to but we have a problem. DH has been told he is being made redundant :(

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 05/06/2014 11:08

Oh no pasta that's awful news :( how long has Mr P got before he finishes? Are there other opportunities locally for him?

farfallarocks · 05/06/2014 12:47

pasta that is gutting. How much pay will he get and how easy do you think it would be for him to get another job in 6 months or so?
Not sure where you are but the market is getting a lot better for job seekers generally. I hope its not necessarily a reason to put things on hold as these things do take time.

generic hello! So nice to see you back on here, thanks for the rocky road
Yum!
imps, I love your attitude, you are a true brooker indeed and the phrase 'bollock scan' is just hilarious. Really hoping you are an insta differ Ivfer, in fact I am brooking no argument.#

It must be this threads 3 year anniversary, maybe we should have a party?

GenericDietCola · 05/06/2014 13:13

Oh no Pasta. I'm brooking he will find something even better soon.

Imps9 · 05/06/2014 17:17

Fuck, Pasta what a nightmare. What industry does Mr P work in? Employment opportunities definitely definitely seem to be getting better. Brooking no bloody argument that an even better job is just sitting there waiting for him. What will his payment be?

Gen helllllooooooooo! No more kids for you? Are you sure? We Brookers can be very good at changing minds... :D

Far how are you feeling? Hope you're taking it easy now that you're with child again. Have you told DD yet or will you wait until the scan?

Pastamancer · 06/06/2014 13:56

He works in IT and his payment will be 11 week's wages.

Our problem is that not only do we live in officially the most deprived part of the UK, we live in a particularly deprived area so jobs are virtually non existant and everything advertised is a lot less than he is on now.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 06/06/2014 15:58

Oh Pasta that's rubbish. I'm so sorry. I know how tough it is where you are, the inlaws massively struggled when they moved down there. I'm keeping everything crossed that something comes up.

Far, how is it being a PUPO? Wink

Imps high five for all these scans! Is MrI also having a prostrate scan? MrM had one as part of his bollock scan. I warn you now, he may play the 'I've been violated' card for a while Wink

Lovely to see you Gen

Hope you're ok Cups x

Imps9 · 09/06/2014 08:14

Hello everyone - good weekends? Cups must be in NY by now - hope you and Mr C have a nice time there Cups if you're out there.

Don't think Mr I is have a prostrate scan Maybe - at least it didn't mention it on this appointment. Wonder if they only do there where there is no sperm? Cos Mr I had sperm in his jizz sample, it was just all abnormal.

Pasta hope you and Mr P are doing okay. Must be a really worrying time. Is commuting to another town/city doable from where you are?

Am in pain today - did 5 hrs gardening yesterday and have discovered new muscles as a result. Garden looks good on it though.

Have a good day all

farfallarocks · 10/06/2014 15:46

haha I like your style girls with this PUPO chat!

pasta keeping all crossed for you that your DH finds another job quickly, have you discussed how this might affect TTC plans?

In other news I am in AGONY with wisdom tooth pain, think I might have to have them out which I am dreading. In the meantime I am on codeine and antibiotics, hmmmm, not sure that is a great for the old blastocyst but needs must. That and wine is the only thing that seems to take the edge off this damn toothache!!

I am about 7/8dPO and feeling quite relaxed this month as I have so much going on.
Waves to all. cups still thinking of you if you are checking in?

Imps9 · 12/06/2014 09:33

Oh no, wisdom tooth pain is awful Far - I had the same problem over Christmas and it bloody hurt. The dentist told me that you have to have had wisdom tooth problems on 3 occasions before you can have them removed on the NHS. He recommended I had mine out but I would have to pay for it privately and, frankly, I am too tight to do that. Will wait for 2 more bouts of pain, methinks.

How is Farfette doing? Any morning sickness yet?

Had my HSG on Tues - all very straightforward and pain free (which I wasn't expecting). Tubes all good so that's nice. I made a bit of a crude shagging joke to the radiographer though which I'm not sure she appreciated. Ohh well!

I have a pelvic ultrasound in Sat - is that a dildocam does anyone know?

Have a lovely sunny day!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/06/2014 11:10

Morning all!

Far, any symptoms?! Poor you with your teeth. I suffer so badly with my wisdoms. 2 came through okay but the other two are a nightmare!!

Imps great news about the HSG. I found it painless too. When I told our IVF doc that, she said is sail through egg collection, so take that as a good thing Wink. My first pelvic scan was external as she managed to get a really good look at my ovaries, but all others have been internal. I found that the referring hospital done pay as much attention as the IVF clinic. Also loving the inappropriate jokes Grin

Pastamancer · 12/06/2014 19:35

Fingers crossed for you Imps, I look forward to doing a gymnastic display for you soon. Obviously I don't have your skills so it won't be as good as yours.

We have decided to TTC regardless so have been DTD every other day this week.

Imps9 · 12/06/2014 23:34

HURRAH Pasta!! Am very pleased that you are back smacking that rat. As someone wise once said: "Everything will be alright in the end: and if it's not alright, it's not the end." Money comes and goes and I am positive that your DH will find a wonderful job soon.

Maybe that's cheering re: egg collection. So how does that actually work? How does one gather ones eggs? It's all so new, different and exciting!

Just watched a bit of football - how dull! Not sure I'll bother for the rest of the World Cup. Bring on the Tour de France!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 13/06/2014 08:59

Brilliant news Pasta!! That rat will be smacked in no time!

Imps eggs are collected using a dildocam that has a needle aspirator on the end. They use ultrasound to find the follicles, then pierce them and suck out the fluid. The fluid gets passed straight to the embryologist who checks to see if there's an egg. It doesn't take very long, 20-30 mins. The level of sedation used depends on the clinic. They don't use any at my clinic, just a bit of pain relief. But I know other clinics use sedation or general anaesthetic.

Where abouts are you marshalling? The tour comes through here this year! Most exciting

Imps9 · 14/06/2014 13:28

Hello lovely ladies, how are you doing today? And what are you up to? I've just spent 1 hr in the garden and am already knackered. How is weeding so tiring?

Maybe I'm a "Wayfinder" for the TDF - helping direct people to where the action is. I'll have a special George-at-ASDA designed outfit and everything! It will be such an exciting event - hope you're planning on watching. God I love cycling - none of your namby-pamby footballer-type athletes in cycling, that's for sure.

Had my pelvic ultrasound this morning inc. my first encounter with a dildocam. 'Twas all fine - apparently everything looks normal. Again, though, I think I disgraced myself - I told the lady who was doing the scan that Mr I was at that very moment having his bollock scan - I don't think she was at all impressed at my terminology and looked at me with a disgusted look on her face. Well, I suppose it's not my problem if she doesn't have a sense of humour.

Right, more gardening calls. Thank god we have a small garden - don't know how we'd ever keep on top of it otherwise.

Imps9 · 14/06/2014 13:29

ps Maybe - is the egg in the fluid???

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/06/2014 19:56

Imps, you crack me up Grin. I shall indeed go and watch. Though I love my footie too.

So pleased all was well, how are MrI's balls?! Yes, the eggs are in fluid. It's all very clever. Our bodies are amazing!

farfallarocks · 15/06/2014 01:50

Hmm think I might be into cycle 10 bfn and cramps ! Boo :(

Imps9 · 15/06/2014 08:20

Grrrrr Far sorry to hear that. THIS is your month though, oh yes indeedy. And what a lovely month it will be for it.

Maybe Mr I's balls are fine by all accounts - nothing there which would be causing such big spermal problems. Poor thing was so glum yesterday. He made a joke about me leaving him for someone whose sperm works so that I can have a baby but I don't think he really was joking. Poor chap. Did Mr Maybe get down about things too?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/06/2014 11:01

Oh Far I'm sorry Sad. Next month is THE month x

Imps MrM was exactly the same. He was devastated. But once we were at the clinic, it really picked him up. I think once there's a plan of action in place, things just seem better. And it felt like the pressure was off iykwim?

keepitgoing · 16/06/2014 09:38

good luck pasta! Smile

far sorry about AF. are your cycles regular now? I've recently stopped all night feeds so wonder if AF will be back here soon.

imps blaming oneself is a horrible part of fertility issues. we had query male factor. my dh did lots of research and ate a huge variety of supplements which seemed to help but made him feel he was doing something. assume hot baths tight pants etc are all avoided already. how many samples has he done as could it have been a one off?

Imps9 · 16/06/2014 11:00

Morning all! Another fine, grey, drizzly day. I never really liked the sun anyway.

Keep, Mr I has done one sample and was given a diagnosis of OATS - 3.4million count, 18% mobility and 100% abnormal forms (all with the wrong shaped head and many with two tails! Bless them). The consultant said that even if Mr I had poor nutrition/lifestyle (which he doesn't), that would be the cause of his spermal problems (if "spermal" isn't the official medical term, then it should be). So he's not taking any supplements as he doesn't see the point > I personally can she the point as there are bound to be decent sperm somewhere which would benefit from supplements, but it's not my choice to make!

He genuinely seems quite chilled out about everything, but has his glum moments. I think he is quite wary of IVF - his sister was told she'd never conceive naturally and eventually went on to have 5 rounds of IVF for each of her two kiddliwinks. I wonder if that's quite common - both siblings being unable to conceive naturally? Wonder if it's a genetic thing - although wonder whether a genetic thing would affect men and women in the same way? Gah sorry, am babbling on now, will shut up!

Anyway, Keep, Maybe, how are the littl'uns? Anyone keep in touch with Loopy, Geek and Scarlett? Hope they're okay. And Cups and Beedle and any other lurkers.

Imps9 · 16/06/2014 11:02

Sorry, error in second para ... should have said "... even if Mr I had poor nutrition/lifestyle ... that WOULDN'T be the cause of his spermal problems..."
