Funky just read your post and would like to thank you. For a lot of people like me miscarriage is the great unknown and having had several friends have late miscarriages am all too aware of the taboo and pain that happens behind closed doors. I hope that you can get more answers and a NDP that sees you through to a successful delivery.

HampshireBlues · 07/01/2014 21:43

Arrg typing on phone - NDP should read BFP!

Sid - we've got our info session booked in now - end of January. I guess I'll know more then. When we had our first meeting, she definitely implied that we could get cracking ASAP after the info session. However, I am slightly worried that I misunderstood and I'm now going to find myself on a waiting list or something horrendous like that.

Now, all those who have finished Breaking Bad - no spoilers please! I'm only about half way through and I'm bloody loving Jesse it! Wink Just finished an episode instead of working...whoops!

Funky - what a painfully truthful post. Well done you but so sorry you are having to write it in the first place.

barkingtreefrog · 07/01/2014 23:26

Very true funky. You mention the taboo of speaking about mc and the reactions you can get. I think the other difficult thing about telling people you've had a mc is how quickly they forget. A colleague was off work today. His wife went into labour last night, she wasn't due until March. Baby is small but ok and not on oxygen. We were all updated at the staff meeting tonight. Then all talk was about babies and everyone was teasing pg colleague, told her she needed to go and get her overnight bag sorted (she's got 4 weeks left before maternity leave). Another colleague shouted 'who else has had a baby? Give 'x' some advice.' They all know about the mc so part of me expects them to be more sensitive around me when it comes to baby talk, but I suppose to them it was 4 months ago, forgotten about.

We went to the cinema tonight. Has anyone seen the trailer for Devil's Due? It starts off with sickly sweet boy meets girl, marriage, pg, announce to family, much love and happiness, bump & scan etc etc. After staff meeting today I was ready to throw something at the screen, but then it turns out she's giving birth to some kind of devil rising from the dark, so I didn't feel so Envy after that Grin .

Turned off radio 2 this morning when Chris Evans mentioned Vasos (sp?) was expecting child number 3 any day now. DP immediately told the radio to f#&$ off. He called the fertility clinic twice today, that's four times he's now called and left a message on the answer phone. No call back.

RevoltingPeasant · 07/01/2014 23:32

Hello all..... Sneaking back onto thread!

I was posting here quite a lot last year but we took a break from ttc over the NY period as we were staying at people's houses a lot and it was awkward dtd.

So.... Started pre AF spotting today so lining up for CD1 tomorrow! Hoping FF will remember me.

Skimmed thread, and things seem to be moving along for most. Didn't realise your wedding was so close Barking!!

barkingtreefrog · 08/01/2014 06:51

Hi rp you were missed! Add yourself to the latest list! Yep, wedding approaching fast!

No spotting here. I meant to say funky, when I had my tiny bit of spotting 35 days ago that's all I had, a tiny bit of blood tinged clear cm. Was really hoping for at least that again so I could at least reset FF for another cycle but nothing yet. 4 months since mc and now 61 days since I had the provera induced bleed.

SidneyBristow · 08/01/2014 14:10

Feather I've just read your blog and wish I could give you a hug. It's pathetic that miscarriage support is so shoddy. I really hope that getting your feelings out there will help, and like Boodle, am just sorry you (and others) find yourselves in the situation in the first place.

Quiet day here for me, blessedly so, but MIL is looming on the horizon, as might AF be, so there's that. AF due Thurs/Fri; sore breasts and nausea as per usual but I refuse to test. The idiotic part of my brain is hoping AF comes so that I have a shot at IVF twins Blush but the more rational part of my brain is trying to be zen about it, hoping that the universe leads me to my baby(-ies) at the right time please dammit let it be soon actually scratch that, please dammit let it be soon I could use the shelf space that my TTC books are hogging up!!! Wink

Speaking of movies, has anyone seen the trailer for the new Vince Vaughn one, which apparently is a comedy about IVF? Am I such a humorless cow that I can't see the funny side in undergoing serious medical intervention after years of TTC...? Because of all the emotions I've had about getting pregnant up til now, I can't remember ever once thinking "Whee!! IVF! This will be a gas!!" Hmm

BlueBirdy · 08/01/2014 15:24

Funky I can only guess that it is either ov. bleeding or implantation bleeding, depending on how long after O (I won't mention the later, as it sucks getting your hopes up). That is a really well put together piece, as well as being so truthful and informative (re the stats) - very moving, thanks for sharing. I really wish there wasn't the whole taboo around talking about it, but then it is no wonder, when people aren't even 'supposed' to reveal pregnancies until after the 12 week scan, and hardly anyone even lets on that they are going to start TTC, there is this whole culture around keeping fertility issues a secret. If society was more open about these things, a lot of women (and men) probably wouldn't feel so alone and useless. All I can say is thank goodness for sites like these!

Boodle all I will say is the end of season 4 (one part in particular) - O. M. G. Sid, Funky yes I love Jesse! 'Well then roll me further, bitch!' haha!

Barking can't believe the provera was 61 days ago already! Things seem to go so slowly for us berries, and seem to go so fast for other people. That's really sweet of your DP to get involved like that, and I tell the radio/TV to piss off too for that! Sorry the people at work seemed so ignorant - people don't seem to realise how lucky they are, and how hard it can be for others.

Sid is that the movie where he fathers 533 children or something? I definitely swore at the TV when I saw that one advertised.

Tiger that is really sweet and quite romantic of your OH - bless! At my first appt the nurse was looking through a stack of papers for something when I thought she said 'I'm Heather' so I smiled and said said 'Hi Heather' just as I looked at her name badge that read 'Louise' and realised that she had actually said 'come hither'. I was so embarrassed, but I did lol, and now my DH always refers to her as 'Heather'. Anyway...

Hi RP, hope your hols were fab!

funkymonk · 08/01/2014 15:55

Laughing a lot at Blues 'hi heather'! Hehehehehe!

Barking yes you are so right about that. I'm on a whatsapp thread with 4 friends. 3 have babies. 2 born in last few months. ALL instadiffers. They regularly moan about missing being pregnant and feeling baby moving around inside of them etc etc. I'm like hellooooo long term ttc'er here and recent miscarriager!! Well even more recent now. They have behaved themselves since this last one. So far anyway! They do just seem to forget, or maybe its that they think that we should have moved on??

Also, barking did you speak to fertility clinic yet? Did you ever have blood tests or scans after mc to ensure that all 'products' (dont you just love that term) had gone?

My red cm has gone today. I had considered implantation spotting as managed to have some just for fun sex on 30th Dec and twice New Years Day! This would be right time scale though of course I know this is ridiculous and would never ever be as lucky for that to happen. Also I doubt I ovulated that soon after a mc.

Really frustrated for you barking. How shit to have periods gone awol on top of the mc. It's just not fair. I guess I'll wait and see what happens but yesterday may have been a mini af for me.

Welcome back rp!

Sid, mil and af?! Both at the same time! Hoping you get an ironidiff.

Is it tomorrow bunny?

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/01/2014 17:26

Bunny is EC tomorrow? If so, good luck, although not sure how luck will help at this stage assuming they've all grown nicely and you have done your trigger. However thinking of you. Do you get a choice how many you put back? Are you freezing any?

Bunnygirlie · 08/01/2014 19:27

Hi all, just popping in before we head off to travel lodge near FC ready for tomorrow!

Thanks everyone for your best wishes x

Thanks merk our local FC said to take main FCs advice but they don't recommend putting in more than one due to higher risks in multiple pregnancies. If there are a few good ones then we will def pay to freeze them Smile

BlindKitty · 08/01/2014 19:42

Don't think they tend to put more than 1 in younger people, anyway, you'll have your hands full with one little bunny very soon

funkymonk · 08/01/2014 21:03

All the best bunny! Flowers

FeatherFeather11 · 08/01/2014 21:09

Good luck tomorrow bunny!! Will be thinking of you. xx

Hi everyone else! Battery dying so will check in later.

barkingtreefrog · 08/01/2014 22:50

Good luck Bunny Grin Grin Grin

funky, yes, a second scan after a week of bleeding showed an empty sac, which I passed later, and I had the negative pg test within 3 weeks. The consultant was happy there were no 'retained products of conception' and no cysts. I finally got through to the consultant's secretary today. She said she'd pass on my concerns and he'd probably write me a letter. Bloody marvellous. Angry All hope pinned on the acupuncture, although that's not exactly a quick fix.

winohhh · 09/01/2014 11:29

Morning everyone!

Good luck Bunny!!!

so, I'm in a bit of a tail spin at the moment.

Just to recap my history... Bloods done with FC clinic last year, devastating news (high FSH, low AMH, very low chance of getting pregnant naturally, very low chance of IVF working so the clinic would not offer me fertility treatment even if we paid them). Went to GP to re-take blood tests Dec/ Jan, and was told to consider doner eggs or adoption.

On saturday I got a bfp. very faint, but definitely there. The blood tests showed low progesterone so I panicked and booked in for more blood tests to check, and my progesterone level is good, my hcg level is good.

I don't really know what to make of it. I can hear the GP's words ringing in my ears 'low quality eggs' and I'm expecting the worst. I'm currently in the longest 2ww till we can go for a scan. I'm really trying to hold on to the fact that even if this ends in tears we managed it once, so surely we can manage it again???

winohhh · 09/01/2014 11:32

Barking, I only had 3 sessions of acupuncture and I went from no chance of bfp, to a bfp. Who knows what happened, but really, it didn't hurt. fingers crossed it works it's magic for you!

Tallyra · 09/01/2014 12:46

oh that's amazing win, congratulations!.

I understand not wanting to get too invested in this just yet, having had 3 mcs before this bfp. In fact I still have moments when I don't believe we have actually got this far. I didn't let myself start getting excited til about 14-15 weeks so don't worry about the mental side just yet. Hopefully you won't need to cope with a bad outcome, but it does get easier each time. Just don't let yourself be dragged down, you know what to expect this time around. I hope that's not too negative - of course there won't be a problem and you'll be joining us in the helicopter very soon!

ladybunnikins · 09/01/2014 13:12

Tentative congratulations wino, fingers crossed for you!

BlueBirdy · 09/01/2014 13:48

Win I just got goose bumps, that is the best news I've heard in a long time! I really, really hope it all works out. And what ever happens this time, maybe use a different FC next time!

tigerdog · 09/01/2014 13:59

good luck bunny! xx

amazing newswin just goes to show that GPs are not the experts. Fingers crossed this blossoms in to a wonderful happy ending xx

FeatherFeather11 · 09/01/2014 14:37

Ah, wino that's fabulous news. Tentative congrats and hoping all goes smoothly! Amazing things DO happen. xxx

Bunnygirlie · 09/01/2014 16:07

I'm back! All went fine

Fingers crossed this is a sticky one win
