Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Lil it's the same one as the last time I came off but I'd been on another one previously (one of the mean one that isn't too friendly if you're prone to thrush)

I knew it wouldn't happen immediately but a gal can dream ;-)

Lynsey14 · 29/12/2013 10:19

I forgot to tell you all my POAS trauma!!!!

No-one at work knows I'm trying (I'm just in the process of switching roles and if they knew I might not be getting placed in as favourable a position...) so it's all very secret squirrel

I had come back from lunch with my super drug bag crammed into the bottom of my handbag, popped into toilets, made brief eye contact and 'hello' smile to colleague I rarely speak to and went to 'perform'. As I was popping the cap back on (and I'm terribly messy with them, zero skill!) and getting ready to try and think of anything else for three minutes I hear a voice through the door.... Colleague I rarely speak to has decided this is the time for us to make nice and discuss our respective Christmasses....

I'd already been in there bordering on a minute and it would have gotten a bit awkward if I stayed there another 3 so I shoved the test in my bag, flushed and exited, thinking I'll just pretend I'm staying to do my makeup. Well if she didn't wait for me... And as I had no make up in my bag I had to pull out a non descript item and apply it to my face, craning my neck to see if I could read the test from my bag and casually dump it in the bin.

No such luck! So off I went back to my desk with a slightly damp pg test that showed a BFN when I sat down and burrowed to find it.

I think I'm going to do them at home from now on....

cookielove · 29/12/2013 10:55

lyn snigger Grin

CosyTeaBags · 29/12/2013 11:02

Oh dear, definitely save them for the safety of your own bathroom!! Cringe for you!

apart from the logistics of POAS somewhere other than at home, I'd be worried about what I'd do if I got a BFP whilst sitting in the office having to pretend all is normal!

Lynsey14 · 29/12/2013 17:18

Haha yes needless to say it might be obvious that my usual grumpy chops have been replaced by a joyous grin!

Bearfacedchic · 30/12/2013 01:48

Red- massive anger for you! People who say relax can just do one. Woman surely wouldn't get pregnant in war zones or as a result of rape if that were true. Angry some people! My SIL keeps trying to make helpful comments like that but it just makes me want to punch her too. So I know how you feel.

Oh dear lynsey! Trauma! I've tried doing ov tests at work before and it's been scary, so I stopped.

Cookie- glad you're still on the wagon! Hope you managed to get sorted soon.

I did a Poas yesterday and today. Both BFNs. Ertd is due any day from now really. My cycle is usually 28-30 days and now on Cd 29. Had mild cramp this am so guess it's on its way. Don't know what all those symptoms were about then!

On another non-ttc note, after my bfn yesterday I had a mini melt down and am seriously thinking of quitting my job later this year in order to leave my profession (teaching) and do something else. I think I stick it out got so long because I thought I'd get pregnant and it's a good job to have with children but I really dislike it now and I would leave if I had another job to go to. And as I'm not getting pregnant. . . I don't want to be trapped in this for the rest of my life and I keep thinking if I don't do it now, then when will I? I mentioned it to a friend who said there might be openings at her work, so watch this space!

Hope everyone is well and had a good Christmas!

Bearfacedchic · 30/12/2013 01:49

Sorry for all the typos! It's late.

CosyTeaBags · 30/12/2013 14:12

Oh Bear hope you're feeling better today. It's hard, you keep thinking 'I'll just carry on with XYZ because I'll be PG soon so no point changing' and it's just never ending, putting your life on hold just in case...

I'd say, go for what makes you happy. A wise mother of 4 children once told me that there's never a right time, career wise, to have children, there's always something or other that's not quite right, or just around the corner - but you can't put your life on hold.

I'm in a holiday booking dilemma. I'm a travel addict, never happy unless I've got the next trip to plan. Trouble is, the type of holiday that DP has in mind isn't exactly compatible with being PG, but I can't not book something just in case, can I?. Also, I keep thinking we might as well get the adventurous holidays under our belt now before we have DCs.. well we did that last year thinking it would be our last chance, and here we are, still not PG and facing another year. Aaargh.

My Christmas JSing cape has falen off - got past the probably icing stage, got a sore throat and feel rubbish (trying not to symptom spot), and now can't be arsed.. but don't want DP to feel that I only want him during icing time... hmmmm

Hope everyone else is feeling more positive!

juniper81 · 30/12/2013 15:30

Good luck with the job, bear. I am a firm believer in living the life you have. It all works out in the end if you get pg in a new job etc. Go for it!

Same with the holiday cosy. Go for the adventure! Or make it something like scuba diving where you can do lazing around if you are pg and can't dive (I know nothing about scuba diving, btw, just an example).

I have started reading the Zita West book. So far I am hanging on her every word, although she does commit the unforgiveable sin of talking about "career women leaving it too late"...hmmmm. I started trying over two years ago and none of what's happened or not happened is due to my non-existant career! Anyway, I quite like it so far and she's cheering me up. No icing signs yet but have got the cape on a couple of times and hoping I do actually ov this month!

Anyone TWOTting or waiting to test? Good luck! xx

FurryScoob · 30/12/2013 16:37

Cozy book your holiday it might help the law of sod get you upduffed!
Bear I'm also sticking at a job I hate because it would fit in with child care but the thought of going back to work after a few days off is bad, I can't imagine how depressed I'll get having to go back after mat leave.

I'm TWOTING, AF due at the weekend but not holding out much hope of a BFP as we didn't get much cape action in at the right time. I've also got a stinking cold so no idea whats a symptom & what's hurting from coughing!

Latium123 · 30/12/2013 17:52

Ladies, sounds like many of us are in the same boat just now. I hear ya on the job issue Bear and re the holiday Cosy. I agree with Furry. We are away skiing in February and I had hoped I wouldn't be able to ski as much as I love it. I was dreaming of lazing in the chalet reading while the rest went out. I agree with everyone else - we can't put our lives completely on hold while we wait. I'm just awaiting AF's arrival - started to feel the familiar cramp today. Also, blooming colds spoiling all the cape action - grrrrr!!!

PuddingAndHotMilk · 30/12/2013 19:55

Can I join?
Name: PuddingAndHotMilk
DC: 1DD 5 mo
TTC: first 'cycle' but Bf'ing so god knows.

I'm 40 so need to get on with it. DH has given deadline of 42 to give birth which gives me c 7 months to get upduffed. I therefore may need some hooyas. Or to stop Bf'ing Sad

Any advice appreciated on the upduffed while Bf'ing bit!

Bearfacedchic · 31/12/2013 00:13

Thanks got the advice Cosy- you're so right! I even applied for a job today! I'm so proud of myself! Grin but I think it also applies to holidays too so I'd also go for the mountain climbing/ bungee jumping/ whitewater rafting option!

Welcome Pud! 7 months?! Good luck- I'm sure you'll be lucky. All I can offer you is research ov (known hereabouts as icing from typos) signs and get shagging around that time. Have a good look out for ewcm. Get your cape on! Oh and don't be too worried about deadlines. OH will be so pleased, he won't want to stop I'm sure! Grin

Bad times furry- hope you feel better soon. I've had a sore throat and cough for about a week so know how you feel. Thanks

Had some spotting today so guess the inevitable is on its way. Bum. Oh well, there's always next month.

Minion · 31/12/2013 03:16

Holla ladies!
Good evening from sunny Barbados.
Welcome pud., just get your shiny new year, BFP laden cape on and JS away...(warning, may induce baby fever, a rash or feminine friction itching)
And good luck!
Defrost book the holiday, thy law of sod commands it. Just think of all the cute floaty dresses you'd look great in with a tiny baby bump!
I'm so broody, there was an awesome kid around the pool today, so cute, all cheeks and bum! There was also a little bossy madam but I made a mental note not to let mine turn out that way, her dad just smiled at her and let her carry on ossing all the others around!

Just approaching the final furlong of twotting, hoping to start the new year with a firework of my own, but not hopeful. I'm approaching my one year anniversary of JSing and if not this month we are starting to see someone about it,it's had a year, I have to finally admit to myself, we need help.

So for now, I'll quaff my bottle ofprosecco tomorrow night, eat the remnants of my delicious brie in the minibar and reminisce on the highs and lows of 2013 and pray that this year my dad gets better, the house goes through and finally we'll have a little bot of joy...
And world peace obvs!

So JSers around the world, happy new year and I'll see you on t'uther side x

1974rach · 31/12/2013 07:42

Morning jsers. 2013 is nearly over and our year of bfp's is mere minutes away.

Not a great deal to report on the cape action front OH and I have both had the nasty lurgy but OH is well up for action as ov is due tomorrowSmile .

Bfp due 15th jan (pleeeeeezzzeeeeeeGrin Grin Grin Grin Grin )

Happy New Year lovely ladies and the men who will get us upduffed.

CosyTeaBags · 31/12/2013 09:25

Welcome pud, let's hope 2014 is you year too.

Good advice everyone on the holiday, I'm going to do some research today and let the holiday fever begin, hooray! Law of sod, come and get me!

I had to talk myself out of POAS this morning, once I'd safely weed my FMU away I felt triumphant at not giving in to temptation! I'm only about 7 dpo so all I'd be doing is wasting a test, and I have no symptoms apart from sore throat one more week of TWOTing for me, which is due to end at precisely the same time as we should expect DPs sperm test results. What a joyous or miserable day that could turn out to be!

Hope all you lovely ladies have a great evening today (very jealous of Minion!) and I love the idea that our year of BFP is just around the corner . . .

DulcetMoans · 31/12/2013 10:11

Morning all! Or evening/afternoon depending on your location.

Had a quick read back and everyone seems to have had relatively happy festive time. It does bring one benefit - extra JSing time! Negative though - lots more family members and their comments!

We are giving it our best shot this month, ahead of the big appointment in jan. staying in tonight to celebrate 'happy nude year' with a well times shag!

Good luck for the job bear, just do it! Can't hold off on everything forever and you know how much we like the law of sod!

I'm secret squirrel too lynsey, for similar reasons. Just got my promotion before Christmas though so sorted from that respect but still feel a bit guilty...

DulcetMoans · 31/12/2013 15:50

Oh forgot to add, I read the most popular birthday relates to babies being conceived over New Years so capes on ladies!!

Latium123 · 31/12/2013 16:22

Love it Dulcet - Happy Nude Year!! Have a lovely time tonight all and let's enjoy some bubbles while we can. This will be our year.

Bearfacedchic · 31/12/2013 18:01

Happy new year/ nude year shaggers! Here's to 2014 being the year of the BFP!

I saw two cars in the last few days with part of the registration as BFP. That's got to be a sign, right? Grin

juniper81 · 31/12/2013 18:14

Definite signs from the babydust fairy!
Viroids, if there's any unicorn magic for icing please can you send it my way? Very late to ov this month and it's so annoying as we're at home and ready for cape action.

Happy new year! Have wonderful evenings & can't wait for all the January BFPs. xx

cookielove · 31/12/2013 19:08

Happy new year every body!
