Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Happy New Year all!

Three ladies at my party last night, 2 of them mothers and one PG. Lots of chat about babies. I decided to break dance with the boys instead of risking blurting out 'GIVE ME ONE OF YOURS!!!!'

1974rach · 01/01/2014 11:05

good on you lyndsey

got to thinking that this time next year we may not be jsing! especially if the baby dust works x

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 01/01/2014 11:17

Happy New Year Viroids - here's to a great year filled with BFPs, morning sickness, scans, bulging bellies, labour pains and gorgeous squishy babies!

I wish you all the best and will be rooting and praying for you as always.
love you all. x

DulcetMoans · 01/01/2014 11:45

Thanks zing! Hope all is well with your growing bump!

Oh dear lynsey. Not an ideal way to spend new year. Sounds like you dealt with it perfectly though!

What's the symptoms nessa?! Fill us in!!

DH has become very positive and proactive about the TTC stuff over Christmas. He's talking about it and telling me it WILL happen and soon. He thinks we will have a baby by Christmas. He even told me a name he likes! Maybe he knows something I don't! Or maybe he's only just starting to hope..,

Minion · 01/01/2014 11:49

Happy new year folks!
Fooled myself into thinking maybe, just maybe. As I got extra veins on boobs, no per ERTD cramps, no spots, backaches, nothing.
Went to the loo and she's been stealthy! Sneaky witch. So I'm 1 year today of TTC and very annoyed/upset and pissed off at her!
I'd say, onwards but I don't even feel that's enough.
PMA has left the building.

Nessalina · 01/01/2014 12:04

Argh, that sucks big time Minion! Confused Stupid frickin' witch!!
I am making a little nest for myself in the symptom spotting cave Hmm the list so far: had some spotting 2/3 days ago (obvs imp bleeding right?!); boobs are tender (couldn't be just AF could it?!); weeing loads (and that's not just because I've been drinking lots right?!?); and spots on my chin (which HAVE to be because of hormones surely?!?!)...
I think it's time for a mega hooya! Grin
Due on Saturday...

Oh minion I am sorry. Is it definitely ERTD? Sending you some positivity, and a great big hug. The first few days of ERTD are so depressing but hope the next cycle is the one. Do you think you'll go GP anytime soon? I am going to go in January although reading this Zita West book has given me a big boost of positivity. I do want to go just to get it written somewhere etc. Also hoping to try acupuncture this month too. It's all go.

Good luck nessa not long til Saturday. Fx for you. xx

Bearfacedchic · 01/01/2014 17:58

minion- so sorry for you Thanks don't give up though. A year might feel like forever but isn't that long in Ttc terms. I'm sure you'll get your BFP soon. Sending some PMA your way.

Nessa- good luck for Saturday!

Ertd turned up for me yesterday- fab! Spoke to DH about it last night and he's very positive at hoping we'll have made some progress by this time next year. I'm sad, but trying not to think about that and trying to be hopeful. I want to start the new year positively so I'm banishing all thoughts of doom and failure from my mind. Here's to 2014!

Minion · 01/01/2014 18:48

Oh girls I know you're right and a year isn't that long compared to some of us, I guess I'm just frustrated.
Im hoping a trip to the gp will make me feel I'm doing something constructive at least.
What really boils my piss is that after being together 13 years, we got married after 8 and waited 5 years before coming off the pill, I could have been hiding something serious all this time.
I'll find out soon enough I guess x

Bearfacedchic · 01/01/2014 19:14

Same here Minion- been with my DH for 16 years and we waited until we'd been married for 2 years before coming off the pill. I have a massive pot of boiling piss as a result- dive in! Grin Sending you a sly hand squeeze too.

Minion- it's definitely worth finding out and seeing the GP for tests. I'm just hoping our referral hurries up and arrives. It's all the bloody waiting around that's doing my head in. It is good to feel like you're doing something though, so maybe make an appointment? Hope you feel better soon.

beetlehope · 01/01/2014 21:57

A thread with no confusing terminology, thrilled to find one! I dont want to spend my time with a thermometer and a stick to pee on but at age 37 and trying for first I am beginning to see how people get to that! Anyone know if we go to the GP what will they look for first, blood test etc? I had an internal scan last year and tech have all the right bits but have no idea what is normal and what they would do at this age? Will they shove me on some drugs and send me home to bonk?;)

Nessalina · 01/01/2014 22:20

Hello and welcome Beetle Grin
How long have you been trying for?

OP posts:
beetlehope · 01/01/2014 22:37

Got married nov 2012 and haven't used any protection since then ( never been on pill as makes me sick!) but due to working away etc Id say we have only actually tried (as in when their is a chance of it happening for last four months ish! I still think I am twelve I think and no idea how I just hit 37 , we should have started sooner but wanted to be old fashioned I guess and married and have a house etc etc. At least this forum is a bit more optimistic than some and doesn't make ttc look like a full time job!

beetlehope · 01/01/2014 22:46

Sorry forgot to say hello !

DulcetMoans · 01/01/2014 23:05

Hi beetle, welcome! The first step seems to be blood tests - 21day and day 2-4 for the ladies and a sperm analysis (SA) for the gents. Some of us had clamydia tests too. Your internal scan is actually a next step for most the people I have seems d I expect one this month when wego to clinic.

We were the same minion, been together 12 years this year and waited until nearly 10 to get started. How silly of us! I think a GP visit is in order, like you said - it feels proactive. Hopefully your doc is nice too.

Bearfacedchic · 01/01/2014 23:24

Hello Beetle- welcome!

Ladies, I have majorly hurty boobs! Never had this before except for about a week ago when my left one hurt. Just when I think I know my body it starts acting up and doing something new. What is this? As if I don't have enough pain during Ertd. . . Grrrrr.

cookielove · 01/01/2014 23:44

I'm about to step back into our first twot!

Minion · 02/01/2014 01:57

Welcome beetle, tell us about you!

bear, have no clues as to why your breadsticks are knocking but if you find out, can you let me know? Cd1 and mine still are tender, that's not right. Usually they go a few hours before the evil spinster witch arrives. But no, not this month.
Grrrr indeedy!

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 02/01/2014 06:11

come on you all, I need to pass this morning sickness onto someone! Grin

Waggamamma · 02/01/2014 07:22

good morning viriods!

I've been lurking around over xmas but not posting. Fingers crossed for all of you in the twot.

I've had the best start to the new year with a bfp this morning well a little faint one. Grin . Now I'm too excited to fall back asleep!

I'm trying not to get carried away as I had a mc in 2013 that nearly broke me so just praying this one is a sticky one. I think I'll lurk around here until I know all is ok, if that's ok?

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 02/01/2014 07:49

Wagga

I'm praying for you too. hope, hope, hope!Smile

beetlehope · 02/01/2014 08:30

Bear I feel your pain! What's with this hurty boob thing?! I am sure I didn't have this before trying! Unless I just didn't notice as much?
I also now feel really sick before my period and this is new, and when I google it it just says it could be worry, I am not worried !
Dulcet I'm glad I got the internal scan out of the way last year, can't say it was pleasant as the doc sent me the wrong letter, I had to drink pints then not wee, when I got there they said no you are having an internal....I was on my period and so wished I'd have known as would have postponed it.
Not much to tell about me except I had hot loop diathermy last year so hoping that won't affect chances.
Happy new year all .
Fingers crossed for wagamama l can't imagine seeing a positive test I think I'd pass out in shock! X

cookielove · 02/01/2014 08:47

Congrats wagga

Bearfacedchic · 02/01/2014 09:41

Tentative congrats Wagga!

DulcetMoans · 02/01/2014 09:53

OMG wagga! How exciting! Are you getting a digi at the weekend?

I did wonder if they would still do an internal if you were on AF beetle, now I know! I should be finished by time of my appointment later in month.
