Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

wow it got busy on here all of a sudden!

sorry to hear the chlamidya, tsh stories etc. its hard enough worrying about fertility without life throwing these pieces of crap into the mix.

bear get chasing that letter! you've been waiting long enough, don't be "polite" just chase chase chase!

nessa that must be so hard with your friend. I really feel for you. do try and stay positive, just because it wasn't meant to be last time doesn't mean everything won't be perfect very soon. keep faith, we're all hear with you. x

cookie get on the phone to that midwife on Monday, you hear me! Grin UE jsers don't deserve to be kept waiting! we've done enough of that!

well here its day 7 in the symptom spotting cave. I haven't really entertained the possibility of a bfp in the last few months with everything else going on, but now I'm imagining that I'm peeing more often and that my boobs are bigger. the peeing is probably just me drinking more, but dh agreed on the boobs, although I think I have had this before, just not for about the last 6cycles. damn stupid confusing tormenting body!

thanks for the wine and cake, I think it was from rach? it was much needed!

Bearfacedchic · 08/12/2013 00:20

Sorry that I misunderstood Lentil. I hope you can get it sorted soon.

Red- would ET be on Tuesday then? Or is Tuesday to find out if they are viable? Come on little embies- grow, grow!

Sorry to hear about tsh- sorry hope I got that right as I can't scroll back now - sorry if I didn't. Hope you can get it fixed soon.

Feeling quite festive today and was quite cheery until I wrote Christmas cards and realised how many of my friends have children who want them . . . Errr, so everyone. That was a bit of a downer. Meh. Still, best get on with chasing letters instead.

Here's hoping for lots of Christmas BFPs. Smile

Furry ( I think it was you anyway) - glad to hear you got some time off over new year. Too right. Well done! Maybe they'll think twice next time.

juniper81 · 08/12/2013 12:39

Big hugs to thelentil and wagga, hoping for some answers and BFPs very soon for you both.

Anyone else in the TWOT? I seem to be on CD20 without really realising. I may be too focused on my Xmas party outfit and tipple of choice. ;)

Anyone else watching Elf at 3pm on DVD? It's an internet watch-a-long!
Happy weekends all and here's hoping red's embies are growing very nicely.

Lynsey14 · 08/12/2013 12:49

Hi all waves

I am an über newbie

I have no idea what temping is (I thought it was part time work? Duuuh) therefore this will be the approach I think will work best for me.

Husband is all at once scared and ecstatic

Redshoes56 · 08/12/2013 15:57

Welcome, lynsey - you are in the right place :)

bear I'll get the call on Tuesday and then, god willing, go for a transfer on Wednesday morning. I'm very anxious and impatient. Imagine that!

thelentil · 08/12/2013 16:55

CD19 here Juniper, start obsessing every now and again

Then realise that I don't have the one sure thing symptom, slowed digestion

Bearfacedchic · 08/12/2013 17:16

Exciting Red!!!! Xmas Smile

Redshoes56 · 09/12/2013 20:16

How are all the viroids this Monday? I had horrible nausea this morning, which is sort of ironic since the goods are still in the lab. I guess it's the progesterone combined with everything else I have been/still am taking. Ugh. At least it's less than 24 hours now until I get the call and find out whether I'm good to go for a transfer.

cookielove · 09/12/2013 21:10

Hello hello hello :)

Called the midwife today left message on her phone to call me back. Will call again later in the week if I get no response.

Lost 4lbs this week. Wooh!

Hello Lynsey

We need a Bfp!! I'm still not playing the game so I'll just cheer you all on from the side lines!

Good luckred

Nessalina · 09/12/2013 21:24

Hey all Smile Well AF finally arrived - with a vengeance! Timed perfectly with a horrible cold, so I've had two days in bed feeling thoroughly miserable Confused Whilst I've missed the old witch, now she's here, I can't wait til she clears off again!! Grin
Good luck for tomorrow Red, fingers and toes crossed for happy news for Wednesday!

stomp stomp stomp

I do not get it. DH is all 'yay for babies!', picking out names, telling his best mate that we're trying etc etc.... Yet putting off the actual shagging like it's exam revision. Last nights excuse 'tired', tonight's 'oh no I have cramp'... And when I had the nerve to tell him to get over it and carry on apparently that's a 'bad attitude to have'

Men are wimps....

rant rant rant

Latium123 · 09/12/2013 22:24

Hi ladies, I am also new. I came on here looking at advice on various OPKs, temping and charting (potential breach of rule 2 !) and found this thread instead. This seems a much better way. We are month one of TTC and so far no success although the body has been playing nasty tricks and presenting potential symptoms during the TWOT. Now I have read your thread I am feeling much more chilled out about it all again and looking forward to continued shagging. Good luck all x

juniper81 · 09/12/2013 22:48

hello lynsey and latium, welcome!
I was definitely a bit "held back" for the first few goes but I'm sure your DH will come round lynsey. He'd better, eh?!

Well, I am starting to do that symptom spotting thing and trying to tell myself how foolish I am being to little avail. Once you said about slowed digestion thelentil I've decided that my recent stomach aches are due to this. But I'll know this time next week so will try to keep a lid on it. Hooyas welcome!

Have good weeks all, all the positive thoughts to red for tomorrow. xxx

lil1ady · 09/12/2013 23:07

hi lynsey and latium welcome!

lynsey my dh was useless when we first started ttc. it wasn't until we had been trying for about 6 months with no success that he finally sat up and started listening about fertile windows and ovulation! now he asks me when I can take a test, remembers we need to be shagging and keeps tabs on when I think I might ovulate! I think its harder for the blokes to connect with it in some ways, nothing really changes for them. where as we come off birth control, suddenly have all theses new fluid types to monitor, get worse periods and more spots! hang on did I say harder? I meant different! Grin

red I have everything crossed so tightly for you here! sending you all the baby dust I've collected!

can't remember who asked about twotters but cd29 here. nothing to report. the potential boob symptom has deflated, along with my hope. AF due Sunday so I'll reserve my place in the pity jacuzzi for then Sad

thelentil · 10/12/2013 08:15

Hope it goes well Red

Nessalina · 10/12/2013 08:26

Morning all Smile I'm up early on my day off to cancel flu jab booked for this morning. Not sure I want to add extra germs on top of the ones I have already!
Welcome Latium & Lyndsay Grin ('scuse spellings if not right, this app doesn't let you go back & check!)
Lynds - you'll find it a common rant on here! All those who say men only have sex on the brain can't be right! Grin Me & DH didn't really talk about timings much, but he seemed to develop a sixth sense for when I was ovulating and that would be the days I'd get 'I'm a bit tired' BS! I'm sure he didn't do it deliberately, but it felt like it! Me eventually whining that I was ovulating never really helped with the sexy mood, lol.
I found the best thing to avoid me going mental was lots of potential shag days so I wasn't putting lots of pressure on the one or two super fertile days - every other day from about cd10, then aiming for three days in a row day before, day of and day after ovulating! That way if we missed a day, no biggie Grin

OP posts:
1974rach · 10/12/2013 12:28

thinking of you today red!

I gave informed OH that I will be expecting much shag action on the relevant days, I will not be taking no for an answer! He laughed.... is that a good thing Grin ?

Waiting for AF, think she's due this weekend but not sure since coming of the pill.

drums fingers impatiently

Have a good day all.

Lynsey14 · 10/12/2013 13:17

Huzzah! Just received email from DH saying 'can we try again tonight?'

I think he has been feeling a bit under pressure to perform. I probably haven't helped. I suppose its more difficult for them as if they're havign performance issues there's not much you can do!!!

Fingers crossed tonight is more joyful and i can sit with me legs up in the air like its the 1920's ;-)

Redshoes56 · 10/12/2013 13:57

That's sweet, lynsey! They definitely go through a "performance issue" period early on, I think when they get hit with the realization of exactly what it is they are expected to do - get you pregnant! It's a life changing decision. Also, they start to realize at some point that it's a complex process and it not be as easy as the world let you think for so many years. DH definitely dealt with a lot of disappointment when we realized we were having trouble: "woe is my manhood!" and "this is my one biological function I am supposed to be able to do!" sorts of moans. Your DH will be fine, keep him on his toes with lots of action throughout the month Grin and def put those legs up!!! Ha ha!

Nice job on the weight loss, cookie!

I understand impatience, rach! I am waiting impatiently for the lab/nurse to call me. It is snowing something fierce here today so I'm working from home. I use the term working quite loosely, as so far all I've managed to do is check email, post on MN about my severe impatience, and eat a granola bar to word off the faux morning sickness.

.....Red paces floor (well, in her mind. In reality, her bum is on the couch).......

Redshoes56 · 10/12/2013 13:58

word=ward

juniper81 · 10/12/2013 14:23

urges lab to call

The blasted waitingness of it all! Go go embies

Nessalina · 10/12/2013 15:18

... still no news Red? Doesn't the lab know we've got nothing better to do?! Wink

OP posts:
Redshoes56 · 10/12/2013 15:35

Noooooooo not a peep. It is driving me crazy!!!!!! I am picturing the doctors with tiny little resuscitation devices trying to keep my embryos alive before calling me. The later it gets, the more doomy and gloomy I feel. Not good.

Redshoes56 · 10/12/2013 16:03

I just heard from the nurse. They are growing, but a little slowly, so the window is closed now for a fresh transfer. They are going to monitor them one more night and then freeze whatever they can for next month. It's not the best news as I was hoping to get things sorted by the holidays. Xmas Sad I just have to hope they continue to do well and we have at least one that makes it through the freezing process. Another hurdle! I suppose this is life working itself out and I just need to roll with it and trust nature/science/faith/whatever. COCKTAILS FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Wine

Nessalina · 10/12/2013 17:58

My word, this really is a whole new world that I know nothing about!!
The window being closed for a fresh transfer - does that mean they're not big enough for your currently baby-ready uterus? So they'll pop them in at the optimum time next month? Is a frozen transfer just as good as a fresh transfer? Sorry if you don't want to answer questions, just tell me to bugger off and google it Wink It sounds to me like it's not the bestest news, but it's certainly not bad news, so hurrah for that Smile xx
