Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Yay, glad is all going well so far Red

Had a crap day today, I got my christmas rota & I've only got Boxing Day off over Christmas week because other people "have family's at home" & then just to rub it in that my family making efforts arnt working AF arrived Sad
I'm sat eating my way through a massive chunk of fudge cake & I don't even feel guilty!

Have a good weekend shaggers

Redshoes56 · 06/12/2013 21:20

Oh furry I am sorry, that stinks :(

zing - sounds perfect!

thelentil · 06/12/2013 21:56

Brilliant news Red, 4 good chances! Hope they all do what they're supposed to

Doc has referred me, said I tested positive for chlamidia antibodies, I didn't know I'd ever had it, that was a smack in the face. I've always tested clear and been careful. Feeling thoroughly horrible.

I have to call hospital for appointment but not sure I want to. DP is picking fights for spurious reasons and I wonder if he's going off the whole idea

CosyTeaBags · 06/12/2013 21:57

I've only got Boxing Day off over Christmas week because other people "have family's at home" How utterly shit. Bastards.

I'm suffering with serious IBS bloating... tried not to google whether it was a symptom of early pregnancy at 6 DPO, but failed miserably. So I'm walking around with a stomach that looks like I'm 5 months pregnant... great.

Resisted the temptation to eat brie and blue cheese tonight, even though it looked delicious didnt resist a glass of mulled wine though, but there's hardly any alcohol in that eh

Bearfacedchic · 06/12/2013 23:44

Yay Red- glad its all going well! 4 out of 5 is brilliant. Smile you could have a baby soon . . . I've got everything crossed for you.

Sorry I've been AWOL again all, but work is just ridiculous and I've been existing on 7 hours sleep most nights. I'm a real 8 hours min person. I'm also eating like a horse and still losing weight though! Hurrah! Ertd arrived again a few days ago. Blah. TMI alert here- it arrived early and has been heavy and full of clots which I don't usually get. I feel like something was happening this month but it's obviously all over now. I was so tired and angry last week that I'm sure it was something. Felt like I was having a breakdown, but fine again now!

We still haven't had any word from the clinic we've been referred to. I'm going to ring and find out what's going on next week. Realised we've now been Ttc for 28 months. Yawn. Something needs to happen soon please. Where's that flipping letter?

Sorry to hear some people are not getting the shaggage or upduffage. Sad At least it's the weekend though and tomorrow's another day.

Nessalina · 06/12/2013 23:44

Hey all Smile
I've been a miserable bugger lately - cried all over DH last night after dinner with BF who is preggers with twins Confused Not her fault obviously, she's super sensitive about my rubbish, but it was so exciting when we were upduffed together, and now it just feels a little like salt in the wound! Trying my best to be supportive and not obsess over my stuff Sad
Great news on the lil' ones Red!! How does it work once they're growing, how do they know which ones are good to go, do they do any tests or of you just take your chance on healthy chromosomes etc? How many will they put in?! It's all so thrilling!

OP posts:
Bearfacedchic · 06/12/2013 23:50

Lentil- sorry to hear about the chlamydia. Can they treat it?

Sorry to whoever has to work over Christmas. That's shit and totally unfair. Have you got a HR dept you can fomplain to because surely that's discrimination? Just because you don't have a family in the sense of having children doesn't mean you don't have a family whom you want to spend time with. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of your situation, but personally I'd be in the HR office questioning that decision and asking for a compromise. Sad and Angry for you.

Bearfacedchic · 06/12/2013 23:52

Hang in there Nessa - if you've been pregnant before you stand a good chance of it happening again. Sending you Wine and Cake

Nessalina · 07/12/2013 00:04

Thanks bear Smile I keep telling myself that, but a lot of the time I don't seem to listen!
It's true, the 'family' excuse is hogwash - everyone has a family!! One of my colleagues today was moaning today about working Xmas Eve because 'I've got young kids so it's rubbish that I have to', but she works within walking distance of the office and all her family are local, whereas two of us have family over a 2hr drive away (and I'm still working!) so I know who I think it's fairer to work! We try and alternate years, but I often use the travelling excuse to try to get Xmas off - it really is hard to get round to my folks in one city, DH's in another, then back to work in our own city with only 2 days off!!!

OP posts:
Bearfacedchic · 07/12/2013 00:17

That's really tough Nessa. People can be quite selfish though at times I guess.

I am sure though Nessa that with project bfp it will just take time. However, I realise how frustrating that can be. It's so bloody hard seeing everyone else get pregnant what looks like so easily. It's so uneffing fair. I keep saying it, but it doesn't make it any easier. I know how you feel with your friend though. So many of my friends are on baby number 2 and I haven't even had a bfp yet. It's so hard but you just have to pick yourself up and keep going. Your turn will come and if it doesn't then there's things they can do. All will be well. Try to find something to take your mind off it all. My survival tactic is not to allow myself to think about it all except for practical matters and it really works for me. It means that shagging is much more fun because it's without intent and I don't get upset as much as I used to. Take care Nessa.

Nessalina · 07/12/2013 00:23

Yeah, I know I need to try and refocus... DH was lovely last night, but he did say that it made him a bit sad that I was so upset because he knows everything will change when we do have a baby, and he'd like for us to enjoy the time we have together with just us. It did put it in perspective a little!

morning viriods sorry to hear some of you are down about things. Red that is exciting news, I really hope you get a good result from this Smile . What a fab xmas present that would be!!

Went into docs to ask about my missing bloods, receptionist found them for me. They weren't taken specifically for ttc reasons more general health issues they've come back 'satisfactory.' But my TSH is at 3.68 and to sustain a pregnancy it would need to be below 2 Sad . I'm going to try to get an appointment next week to ask for meds, but because my results are in the normal range it might be a battle.

cookielove · 07/12/2013 08:43

Hello all :)

Wagga - what is Tsh? Good luck with your fight, I'm in your corner!

Bear - long time no see. Glad you came back to us! Hope you hear from the clinic soon.

Red - yay 4 out of 5 is brilliant hope it runs smoothly!

Ness - bah you'll be pregnant to soon, my sil keeps to telling me its ok to hate/be mad at pregnant women, its my little mantra!

Lentil - sorry to hear about the chlamydia :( thats pants.

Cosy - I don't suffer from bloating but carry a lot of excess weight on my belly so have a similar issue looking pregnant! Bah! !

Furry - grrrrr not fair re xmas eve!

I forgot to call midwife but she hasn't called me either so I will def call on Monday!

thelentil · 07/12/2013 08:45

Bear, I don't have it, there's nothing to treat, but the presence of antibodies means might have had in the past, not in the last decade though. No knowing what damage it did, guess it may be why I have had MCs

Really upset about it

Waggamamma · 07/12/2013 08:59

cookie tsh is something to do woyh thyroid levels but not sure of exactly what it does. Something to do with balancing hormones.

lentil I had clymidia once Blush I had totally forgotten about it until now. It was after an incident i really regret when I was 18/19. I reckon I was treated for it really quickly (within a few weeks). Should I be asking about that at the docs too. what to the antibodies do? Try not too worry too much Thanks

1974rach · 07/12/2013 09:03

lentil have a hug from me chick. hope this can be sorted quickly got you.

In fact all of you can have a hug a glaas of wine and a big bit of cake on me.... ertd, twot, bfn, and other general crapness can get lost!

thelentil · 07/12/2013 10:06

The antibodies just mean I've had contact with it in the past, I got married young and since divorce 10 years ago have been really careful, getting tested and always clear, so it must have been a very long time ago during marriage and resolved itself

It's not a problem if it gets treated quickly Wagga, only causes issues if it hasn't and the infection causes scar tissue in uterus or tubes, guessing I would find out with laparoscopy

thelentil · 07/12/2013 10:09

Thanks Rach, bit early for wine but am having cured meat and strong coffee for breakfast despite the tyranny of the TWOT

Needs must

Nessalina · 07/12/2013 14:31

Ugh, sorry to hear there's more rotten news for the JSers! Shock
Wagga - that sucks, can they treat for that? Hope so!!
lentil - that must have been a horrible shock for you, hope it's not caused any problems for you Thanks
WineWineWine all round viroids!!! Xx

OP posts:
thelentil · 07/12/2013 14:45

High TSH might be due to over active thyroid, had a friend who had it as a teenager, very easy to treat with pills and get a complete cure

Redshoes56 · 07/12/2013 15:41

Oh lentil :( I hate that you are dealing with this and so upset, and hope your fertility is completely unaffected. And as wagga said, try not to worry too much. Thanks

wagga I don't know much about TSH but at least you know what's going on there and hopefully it can be corrected. Thanks for you too.

nessa they choose the viable embryos a couple of ways - based on the history of their growth over this weekend, how they look visually as we approach transfer day, and also the extra genetic testing we paid for to make sure the right number of chromosomes are present.

This is one of the top labs in the country so I trust them, but I'm also nervous and starting to rethink the decision to do a single transfer. I lost quite a few pounds before staring IVF but I am still overweight and carrying twins would mean medical risk. Also, having two babies at once as a brand-new parent is a scary thought - I like the idea of having a family one baby at a time. At my lab, transferring one genetically tested embryo is associated with the same success rate (65%) as transferring two non-tested embryos, so we sprung for the testing. Now I am tempted to put in two to further increase my chances - but the chance of twins in that case is 50%. I would hate to be disappointed after coming so far. Then again, I know some women go through IVF many, many times before having success. I am just over-thinking it, probably.

Redshoes56 · 07/12/2013 15:42

bear I hope you get your letter soon! We've been on this journey for so long!

FurryScoob · 07/12/2013 16:11

lentil & wagga hope the doctors can see you quick & get things sorted

Bear we don't have a HR department at work, its a small company but I've had a moan this morning & got 3 days off over new year Xmas Smile

thelentil · 07/12/2013 17:22

Red, when do you find out how many of the 4 are working? If there's more than one will you freeze them?

Redshoes56 · 07/12/2013 19:16

I don't find out until Tuesday - and I am desperately trying to keep my mind off of it, but it's impossible! Xmas Grin And yes, we'll definitely freeze anything we can. Hoping, hoping, hoping.
