Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Hey there viroids. No sign of ERTD still - boooo! Decided I must have been icing, which means another 10 days or so before AF arrives. A TWOT with no hope of a BFP - how dull!! Hmm

OP posts:
Redshoes56 · 03/12/2013 22:20

Sorry ladies :( I was rooting for BFPs for everyone!

I am to take my trigger shot at precisely 8:50 tonight and have egg retrieval on Thursday morning! Right now there are six promising follicles, which is not really a huge number but the doctor seems pleased. Thinking quality over quantity. Six has always been my lucky number... And I just need one of the six to actually work out (preferably a future lawyer or doctor...just kidding...healthy and happy will do!).

juniper81 · 03/12/2013 22:30

Very best of luck red, it's all happening! Hope you're feeling ok on the drugs (apart from the botty burps!). All best wishes to you for Thursday.

V sorry to people starting ERTD, maybe it's a false alarm? But ness's needs to hurry up and get finished!

Full cape action week here, which is ok. In a strange state of mind where I feel quite positive but also looking forward to AF coming on the work Xmas night out so I can drink too much and go out dancing. Guess it's good to be happy with either outcome!!

Redshoes56 · 03/12/2013 23:18

Thanks, juniper! Sounds like a great attitude you have there :) I'm pretty tired but I haven't really had a lot of side effects. I think I am just lucky. We'll see what happens after I pump myself full of HCG tonight.

Welcome rainbows!

Minion · 04/12/2013 09:00

Dum Dum duh.
Cooeey, yep you guessed it. She arrived. And a day early! How very rude!
But this means I get to don my stars and stripes cape add we'll be bonking in NYC this month! Maybe I'll do a VB and name the kid Brooklyn, Bronx or liberty... Ooh dear, is it wrong that I kinda like Bronx?
Hooyah stat! I'm off to bed, that flight was long.

CosyTeaBags · 04/12/2013 10:57

How are you feeling Red? Hope you're ok.

Sorry for everyone's AF arrival - good to put a positive spin on it though. Slate wiped clean, fresh start. Booze and brie aplenty.

I'm in a confused state. I had what I thought was Ov pain on Saturday, never had it before, it was like a dull stitch like pain on my left side. But the problem is, it's still there. It comes and goes, and is worse when I sit down, walk or need a wee.

I'm currently on the waiting list for investigations for IBS which I suspect is Endo. I'm due for a camera up the bum, which I suspect will find endo, and then presumably I'll go on a new waiting list for a Gynae consultation. So I'm really worried that this could be a new Endo symptom. It's not really bad enough to warrant a trip to the GP but I do wonder if I should just get it on record, as it might speed up my Endo diagnosis..... WWYD?

I, of course, am clinging to the tiny hope that it could it be ov / implantation??? Anyone else experienced this kind of thing?

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 04/12/2013 11:04

Hi viroids. Sorry for the ERTDs showing up.

I think I might have been a bit hasty with the Christmas tree. I've already hoovered up needles twice this week and I suspect it may be sans needles completely by 25th December! DH heard on the radio that if you leave the tree lights on at night it makes it last longer. Hmm

I'm off work with a fluey bug thing and feeling quite pathetic. I have however made some progress with the hospital and I now have an appointment at the start of Jan to see a gynae and have colp on the same day. Progress! Lets hope they can shed some light on wtf is going on with my innards. We are now onto cycle 13, so I'm hoping I'm going to magically get up the duff between now and my appointment. If I don't it won't be for lack of trying. I have a christmas cape with tinsel and pinecones and little embroidered rudolfs, as soon as this bug does one, I'll be getting the cape on.

Red, really good luck with the egg collection tomorrow. Hope all goes well and hope you are feeling ok. How long before they put them back in? I don't know what the timeline for IVF is.

Welcome to the newbies too!

Minion, Bronx? I think you must be over tired! Grin

Happy hump day everyone! (in all senses of the word obviously)

Redshoes56 · 04/12/2013 12:46

minion The Manhattan Shagging Project sounds promising! Brooklyn is a nice name. Or you could go with Jersey, you know, after your Joisey pal Red ;)

I still feel fine! It is almost unsettling. I feel like I should have some twinge or ache to know it is all percolating, you know? I had what could have been light cramps last night after taking the trigger shot but it also could have been indigestion. Nothing has been pronounced enough to really say, hey this is a side effect, except for the fatigue. And even that could be compounded by not sleeping well!

I am a little nervous now that the retrieval is like, 24 hours away. Insane. I think DH is more nervous than I am though. He is worried about everything: missing the cup, mixup at the clinic, natural disaster, you name it. He needs the anesthesia more than me!

Redshoes56 · 04/12/2013 12:49

essie they generally put the embryo(s) back after five days at clinic. If for some reason my uterine lining craps out before then, they'll freeze the embryos until next month. I have to just be diligent about my progesterone suppositories after the eggs come out. I am having laser acupuncture before and after the embryo transfer which some studies show helps success rates. I just want to try it!

CosyTeaBags · 04/12/2013 12:55

Red is this your first IVF cycle? (sorry don't know your back story) Fx for you Flowers

I've called my GP to ask for a phone consultation rather than bother her by going in. She will probably tell me it's nothing - but I just want it on my record that I've had another episode of abdominal pain. Might help speed up diagnosis in the long run...

Redshoes56 · 04/12/2013 13:19

Yup, first one cosy! It has not been bad at all. We did "wait and see" for over a year before investigating. My DH has poor morphology but we have good chances, so here we are! I have been the American mascot on the JS fred for over a year (yikes!). I think bear is the only one who may beat me on longevity.

You did the right thing. It is always good to raise even the small issues if it'll help speed things up. Squeaky wheel gets greased as they say!

Redshoes56 · 04/12/2013 13:20

I think every doctor in the practice has had a go with the dildo cam at this point. He used the words beautiful and juicy in reference to my follicles. Not sure if I am flattered or creeped out. Ready for tomorrow!

CosyTeaBags · 04/12/2013 13:59

He used the words beautiful and juicy in reference to my follicles. Not sure if I am flattered or creeped out. Xmas Shock

I suppose he's seen more than his fair share of follicles. Sounds like a positive assessment!

thelentil · 04/12/2013 17:29

Doc tomorrow, getting results of blood test and SA and maybe getting referred to baby doc

My friend told me to get AMH tested, has anyone heard of it or had any experience of it? Neither nurse or doc knew anything about it

Redshoes56 · 04/12/2013 17:36

Good luck, lentil - hoping for nothing but the best, I know it is nerve wracking!

I had my AMH tested. That was the only blood workup I owed some money on outside of insurance, so I think it's less commonly done/covered. It's a hormone test that helps predict what your ovarian reserve looks like. It declines as you age, so the higher the number, the further away from menopause you are. I don't remember what my level was other than that I was told it was appropriate for my age.

-Dr. Shoes. Xmas Wink

CosyTeaBags · 04/12/2013 17:43

Just had my phone consultation with the docs about my abdominal pain. She was a bit exasperated with me and said there wasn't much she could do without examining me.

I said I just wanted to know whether I should accelerate investigations for Endo, or just wait for my bowel diagnosis, then get referred.... (ie wait forever). I also told her I was worried about my Day 21 blood tests (have just started a separate thread about this - anyone with any good advice please help!).. I think she thought I was getting a bit too anxious and overwrought and suggested we 'had a chat'...

I ended up just giving myself the advice that I should wait and see what happens next month. Now I just want to cry and hide from it all Sad

CosyTeaBags · 04/12/2013 17:44

And good luck Lentil - it's good to know that the ball is rolling and if you need help youre on the way to getting it

Rainbowsandroses · 04/12/2013 17:54

Sorry to everyone whos ertd has started. Mine has and feeling glum as was feeling optomistic. Joined thid thread as bedore when I was TTC I was becoming obsessed its so easy to isnt it.

thelentil · 04/12/2013 18:01

Oh I think having your follicles complimented is much better than the silent frowning at screen whilst absentmindedly manipulating the wand

Waggamamma · 04/12/2013 18:51

All sounding positive red

I've had abdominal trouble too cosy, doc suspects it could be endometriosis but won't make a referal yet because I had a mc in June and it could be things 'settling down.' I've had an ultrasound which was clear and bloods for thyroid and anemia but they have lost the results Angry . The receptionist wasn't bothered by this!

juniper81 · 04/12/2013 18:55

hey, just throwing in that I had really bad abdominal trouble and had loads of tests, it turned out to be h pylori.

Oh, it's all kicking off at work and I'm probably going to get shouted at tomorrow. :( One of my colleagues is quite seriously mentally unwell but seems to be the only one who doesn't realise it. Management don't seem to be able to do anything about it. So not in the mood for being shouted at for something which is not my fault and my body doesn't feel like a very nice environment for any potential developments that might be going. It's been causing me so much stress for the last six months and I can't help but feel it's not helping with the TTC. :( Going to eat some cake!

Waggamamma · 04/12/2013 19:47

Juniper my grandma had h pylori last xmas and it reoccured again recently. Is it possible to have caught it from her? what's the treatment?

juniper81 · 04/12/2013 19:57

My GP couldn't tell me how I got it but definitely request a stool test (oh the glamour). If you have it you take a proton pump inhibitor for a month to let your stomach heal then take two lots of antibiotics for a week. It wasn't too bad and I felt so terrible before it I didn't care.

Rainbowsandroses · 04/12/2013 19:57

I keep on trying to pounce on dp but life keeps on getting in the way, dcs mainly. Juniper I offer my sympathies I say eat lots and lots of cake. Im trying ti stay positive but its so hard, im starting to feel it will never happen, and im not getting any younger. Arghh sorry just need somehwere to moan
