Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!

Hello everyone!
Name: mammabear
DC: none
TTC: 1 month

I'm brand new to this site and to the whole TTC thing, wanted to know how others were coping with everything and this thread appealed because my OH and I are wanting things to be natural and not get too obsessed with the whole procedure, it would be nice to just not worry and then one day have a suspicion, POAS and bam! BFP. Have a feeling this is what will happen to him but my brain is already wired all things baby!
Just have one big Q about DTD... how often do you guys manage to fit it in? My OH works away from home (RAF) and when he is home it's once or twice a night... but it's equalling to about 10 days out of the month - lessening our chances somewhat perhaps? He has it in his head that he has some sort of "marine sperm" (ugh men) and that it's going to all happen pretty quickly, sadly I'more realistic and know this is not the case, the lack of DTD opportunity is def worrying me!

1974rach · 21/11/2013 07:28

Is this normal? Stopped taking the pill two weeks (ish) ago and my "period" has so far been going on for over a week, and is showing no sign of buggering off.

grrrr

1974rach · 21/11/2013 07:32

hi mamma

lol at "marine" sperm. Good job we love our men Grin

welcome and I am sure someone will be along with advice about dtd.

Nyssalina · 21/11/2013 07:36

Rach, I do seem to remember that my first post-pill period was a long one. I think the 'periods' you get with the pill are actually withdrawal bleeds from stopping taking it, and the reason they're so nice and regular is that when you start taking the next pack that's what stops your 'period'. Now you're not going to take another pack, so yes, this bleed will be a bit longer than usual, don't worry! Your next period will be a real cycle one, so you'll get an idea of how you're gonna flow normally! God, bodies are so complicated aren't they?!

Nyssalina · 21/11/2013 07:43

Welcome mamabear! Smile
I think that's what all men folk are like, certain that they'll click their fingers and their sperm will do their bidding! Grin Sounds like with only 10 days to work with you'll be lucky if these days match up with your fertile zone every month, so yeah, you might have to be quite organised! he's in the military, so at least he'll be used to that right? There's a few JSers with menfolk that work away I think, or they have mad schedules themselves, so you'll certainly find others with the same issue! Twice a night is good going though Wink

cookielove · 21/11/2013 08:11

juniper Yes cake has been involved I can't believe how dark it is, my mum thinks I should go to the docs about it not sure what I would say!

Hello mamma eeek marine sperm!!

Minion · 21/11/2013 08:32

Welcom mama
We manage it and I work bad shifts, clearly struggling tho, what with 11 months of hard work and nowt to show for it,

rach
All I know is when I came off th pill after 15 years,I didn't bleed til exactly 28 days after, then it's sortof averaged islet out between28-30 days, mostly 30.
However my body made up for years of no pmt and gave me awful pmt for 8 months. It seems to have settled itself somewhat now, so hopefully thats all I get.
Fingers crossed it'll be better for you tho.

So I'm off to visit my dad tonight, who knows if I'll be able to hold it together or not. I just can't bring myself to say the C word to him. If i do, it makes it real, does that make sense?
Then I get to spend all day with my little nephew again, which will be lovely! But then I'll get broody,he'll get broody and when I bring it up, we will argue about being obsessive etc.

Such fun!

And now my sodding iPad is missing out letters when i type!
Arrgghhh

MrsW0931 · 21/11/2013 09:26

Morning Everyone, hope all is well and that today is a better day!

Less than a week to go until i can actually join in on your ttc conversations, feel slightly jealous atm! ha. I want to start trying...

DulcetMoans · 21/11/2013 10:01

Morning morning! Having an odd ERTD here as well. Usually would be done by now but just keeps going... this is fifth day and would usually be over in four but no improvement yet.

Hope the trip to visit your dad went ok minion. Completely understand you not wanting to say it. It's a big word when its directly related to someone you love.

Welcome mamma! The menfolk do have confidence in the whole thing more than we do. The important thing about DTD is the timing really. If those days he is home are at the right time then you have just as much chance as anyone else.

Oh, 6-8 weeks to wait for referral appointment now tests are done apparently so maybe in the new year. Feels like ages but I know it will be here before I know it.

thelentil · 21/11/2013 10:31

Oh Minion, I do hope your Dad is going to be ok, mine got ill last year but didn't tell anyone, until it was too late, he didn't want anyone to worry

I had MC just after losing him, but the morning after it was confirmed, as I was waking up, had a really strong feeling that he was holding my hand

DP had a similar amount of optimism about his little soldiers! Here's hoping Mr Mamma's right about his "marines"

MrsW0931 · 21/11/2013 11:50

Im so sorry Lentil that sounds like an awful time, i lost my Nan last year and we were really close so i cant bear to think what its like to lose a parent.

I hope too that your Dad is going to be ok Minion.

strange you say that about your OH's as mine is already thinking the worst about his 'swimmers' not working and the coil isnt even out yet! - another reason why im having it out a month before telling him in hope i get pregnant in the first month and he can skip all of the ttc bit as hes going to be such a worrier!

6-8 weeks will fly by Dulcet especially with christmas countdown to keep you distracted :-)

Me and my DH have a pretty active sex life, we dtd most nights and we arent ttc yet...weve been together for 2 years and people say that in 5 years time it will all change but at least for now while were ttc it is hopefully going to go in our favour!

From reading up though it seems that you only need to actively be dtd 5 days prior to conception so providing you OH is home around these dates you should still be in with the same amount of chance of getting your BFP Wink

Nyssalina · 21/11/2013 12:16

Morning all Smile
The tide has not developed, seems to have just been The Longest ETRD in the World (TM) having its last gasp.
So bored of this now!!!
Lucky that it's nearly Xmas Dulcet, 6-8 weeks really will fly by at this time of year - hurrah! Smile
I missed that they've sorted you out with injections Red! Great news! Although I don't know how I'd be injecting myself - I'm such a big weed!!
Hope the visit to your Dad went ok Minion - was he forthcoming in telling you how things are going? Dads are the worst for keeping it close to their chest I find, well my dad certainly is! Hope he's keeping ok.
Sounds like a rotten time lentil, but fingers crossed for happier times ahead! Thanks

Waggamamma · 21/11/2013 15:09

Welcome mama. Sorry can't name check everyone as I'm on my phone but thanks for the hugs and sympathy yesterday. We dtd twice last night to make up for it Smile .

Who asked about dtd? we struggle to fit it in sometimes as I work 9-5 and dp 3pm-11pm so I'm in bed by time u get home. But we generally manage every 2-3 days and every day during the fertile window for the last 4-5 cycles. I'm exhausted!

MrsW0931 · 21/11/2013 15:42

Glad ur having a better day Waggamamma, must be hard with your working patterns being like that - dont suppose you feel like dtd at 11pm when your DH gets home.. im normally fast asleep by that time!

mammabear4 · 21/11/2013 19:12

I asked about DTD!! I'm glad it's not just me who's struggling I don't feel so much on my own now. I've got an app to track my fertility but not sure how much to trust in it. I've been (apparently) at my most fertile since last Sunday, DTD Sunday and Monday and then Tuesday morning he had to go :( so this week has been wasted!!! Unless his "marines" are really as powerful as he likes to think! We will have to just try to match up schedules as much as poss, hopefully it won't lessen our chances too much. Early doors anyway! It's so good to be able to chat about this sort of thing! P.s. Has anyone else got a fertility app? I have "ovia fertility" previously known as "ovuline"

Redshoes56 · 21/11/2013 21:12

I'm impressed, mrsw, I am usually way too tired for that much activity on a regular basis! In fact, we haven't been doing much of anything for quite awhile now. He's stressed about work and school, I'm stressed about work, and we're both stressed about this IVF business. Maybe we'd have less stress if we just got busy. Hmm....

mamma - welcome! Here's hoping the marines do their job quickly Grin

Thinking of you minion Thanks

Things keep forging forward here, although I am a little bit (ok a lot) freaked out about starting the injections on time, as my insurance company apparently needs to do a special review of my prescriptions that could take 7-10 business days; not good when I'm supposed to start this coming Monday! Bless the lovely lady in the finance department of my clinic, who told me to relax and that they put things through as urgent and will chase them for me if needed. Fingers crossed.

lil1ady · 21/11/2013 21:59

hi everyone. so much going on here so sorry for being AWOL. still dealing with all this work crap, still signed off sick. have had a stomach bug last couple of days which has been horrid and hindered our start to jsing this month. and I'm away for the weekend. shouldn't be a problem hopefully as I expect to ov the weekend after. could really do with some good news at the moment so fingers crossed on the bfp.

hi to all the newbies

where are the likes of bear and Essie?
apologies if I get the wrong things for the wrong people, there was a lot to catch up on...

congrats on the house minion that is so exciting. hopefully that will distract u from TTC and Ur bfp will show up! hope your dad is doing ok too

red fx the insurance gets sorted quickly. just think baby thoughts when you stick yourself with those nasty needles and you won't feel em!

wagga sorry to hear you are feeling down. try and set yourself small goals each day. if you go to the doctor they may want to suggest anti depressants and you can't TTC whilst taking them. use that as your focus to find yourself and get back on your feet. albeit for different reasons I know how you ate feeling. hugs

those of you with long lingering ertds, my third period after stopping the pill lasted 49 days. my doctor was not at all concerned about this! apparently it was to do with progestrogone (can't spell) levels not falling off properly. I expect it would be the same sort of issue for you nessa so try not to worry too much. mine decreased to just spotting at times in those 49 days so if you're getting that its likely the hormones sorting themselves out.

sorry if I've missed people but here's a glass of Wine on me Grin

Nyssalina · 21/11/2013 22:09

Hehe, thanks lil! It's getting there! Bear & Essie were about last week I think? We're all busy bunnies aren't we Smile

lil1ady · 22/11/2013 10:52

glad to hear it nessa

hopefully all this business will distract us and trick our bodies into bfps!

fifi669 · 22/11/2013 13:17

mammabear i used the clue app, it averages out period lengths, estimates PMT and fertile days etc. You can put all sorts of useful information in it like moods, pains and CM stickiness :)

The say to dtd every other day throughout your cycle incase you ovulate earlier/later than you thought. Don't do it too much though else your man will be making sperm dust! First month we realised having so much sex was working against us we got our BFP!

Redshoes56 · 22/11/2013 17:18

Happy Friday, viroids!

That is all from me :)

Bearfacedchic · 22/11/2013 19:29

Hi there! Sorry for not being around for a while guys. Work has been sooo busy so sympathising with those folks who are having a rough time at work at the mo. I won't pretend to have read the last 10 pages or so. I'll try and catch up at the w/e, but I still have work to do, so can't promise anything. Did I miss anything major? Blush Sorry for asking -that's rubbish, I know.

Minion - hope you are okay under the circumstances. Thanks

Wagga - echoing what others have said - take it slowly and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Be kind to yourself.

Red - hurrah for the injections in a way as it will get you to where you want to be. I'm sure it will all be fine and they'll get to through in time.

We're just shagging away ATM and awaiting appointment for IVF clinic. Hope it comes soon . . .

Dulcet - are you being referred for tests then? How did the SA go for Mr Dulcet? (Sorry again for asking need to read backwards).

Off running now - au revoir me lovelies! Happy Friday!

1974rach · 22/11/2013 23:11

No jsing this weekend.... AF still hanging on in there and am visiting my parents. Can't possibly dtd under their roof which is a shame cause have had a few large vinos. OH on nights all next week and then we're off to Scotland week after.....

I just want to dtd!!!!!! We're not gonna get a bfp at this rate cause capes are not being worn Shock

Hi everyone, you lot seem like my type of people!

Name: FlipFlippingFlippers
DCs: 2
TTC: Since September (ish)

Bit of a back story to my situation. Currently ttc after 2 months without AF prompted the conversation about if we wanted more. Had a mc last year and after missing AF (when I'm always on time) had me worried. Decided not to stress and go for the let's just shag loads method Grin
