Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

Don't know if this offers any reassurance re levels or not?
www.ivfconnections.com/forums/content.php/209-Beta-hCG-Values-and-Facts
Sure you know all this already Grin

ladybunnikins · 05/11/2013 19:44

Thank you Foody, since it's supposed to double every 48 hours and I got a BFP on Thursday, I had assumed my level must have been 25 on Thursday to get a positive on a clearblue digital conception indicator, so by today it should have been 150. But looking online some people have had a BFP on that test when their beta was only 10. If mine was 10 on Thursday then 50 today would be about right. I've told a few people now who knew all about our IVF, they're getting excited even if I'm remaining cautious!
For people that like looking at charts this was mine from this month: chart

Boodle9 · 05/11/2013 20:17

Glad to hear you've got official confirmation, Lady; it heartens me after reading the bloody depressing IVF article on the bbc news site yesterday. Temps smashed down again this morning and spotting is underway, bang on time. Sigh. My dilemma now: continue clomid for 5th cycle or just knock it on the head and go back to my shitty short cycles?

BlindKitty · 05/11/2013 20:25

boodle didn't feather get her bfp on her 6th clomid cycle?

lady no idea what the beta test should be but if the fc is happy then you should be! Oh and my digi got my dates wrong too!

barkingtreefrog · 05/11/2013 20:53

Well I didn't go to the fireworks but it had nothing to do with bumps and mostly to do with work, work, and more bloody work Angry . Going to have to go into work tomorrow afternoon (my supposed day off) as I just can't catch up. I've only been back two days, it's insane!!

Gill great news
Lady ditto

Boodle my consultant was insistent that although clomid works for some people it won't necessarily work immediately and could take 5 or 6 cycles (I think he was trying to manage my expectations after my immediate clomid bfp). You've still got the odds to play with each cycle, if you didn't get a bfp without clomid it might be worth continuing with it just to see?

RevoltingPeasant · 05/11/2013 20:53

Hey lady, nice chart!!

What is the green line about? is that post bfp temps?

ladybunnikins · 05/11/2013 21:13

Boodle I read that article too but had to stop halfway through it was too depressing! Shows it's important to pick the right clinic, not one that is just all about the money.
Yes, RP the green line appears after you've put in a +ve pregnancy test result.

FeatherFeather11 · 05/11/2013 21:13

boodle yes! I did! How many mg's are you on and did you respond to your other rounds? What happened to me was that I was on 100mg in July - it was a bust month, no follicles, nada zip. Went on holiday in August and took a clomid break. My cycle freaked out and I didn't get a period throughout all if September, by which time I'd begged and pleaded for the fertility nurse to up me to 150mg. Period arrived on October 2, did 150mg clomid days 2-6, had one follicle that was ripe, and it was my miracle month.

What I'm saying is, is I know what it feels like to be five rounds in and wondering whether you should even bother. My suggestion is that if you've not had a clomid break since you started, take a month off, don't think about ttc - the emotional break from it can do you good. Then, go in for a couple more rounds, or even just the one,

Sorry it's a v long post. Hope everyone is well. xx

Boodle9 · 05/11/2013 21:25

I'll probably try another couple of clomid cycles then. I was prescribed 100mg but I only took 50 the first month, then I took 100 for 2 months, then I was back to 50 on this last cycle. Didn't have any monitoring scans, but when I went for my 3 month follow up, my progesterone levels for those first 3 months were 80, 190 and 168. FC was all "oh, that's great, we look for over 50" but I was kind of alarmed by how high the 2nd two were? Don't like the thought of popping out multiple eggs and wasting what I have left, given my not too amazing AMH result. (Which is why I went back to 50 on this last cycle.)

FeatherFeather11 · 05/11/2013 21:48

Is there any way you could ask for your cycles to be monitored? I thought they had to be - my FC said there was no way they'd let me take Clomid without scans because of the chance of OHSS.

I think you should give it a couple of more rounds boodle. Always worth a shot. Not sure about prog levels being that high - there's conflicting info online and my FC we're vague about it - they said over 30 was good and that anything over 90 was a sign of pcos.

FeatherFeather11 · 05/11/2013 21:49

Ps. Can't stress enough how important that clomid break was for me. If you haven't had one, do think about it. x

funkymonk · 05/11/2013 22:24

FeatherFeather11 · 06/11/2013 06:53

Good luck at your scan today kitty x

RevoltingPeasant · 06/11/2013 08:17

Oh yes Kitty Flowers

Just had a Angry moment when FF decided to estimate my OV not on Sunday which is when I thought but backdated it to Friday. So we've been dtd with a Sunday OV date in mind and suddenly most of our efforts are apparently too late! Grrr.

Wot larks, eh.

lady this is a really stupid question because I don't know much about fertility treatment, but is your bfp - sort of - 'official' now? Hope so Smile Just wondering when we can really break out the champagne for you!

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/11/2013 08:28

Rp FF is just confused by your open circle temp on Sun. I bet that temp is slightly higher than it should be because you took it later and hence FF confusion. I think you Od Sunday

Gillster · 06/11/2013 08:43

Funky, what is thrombophilia and are there any effects on TTC?

yorkiebilb · 06/11/2013 08:44

Good luck today kitty

Gil Glad to hear things are moving for you and there is a plan in place now. Hope you're feeling okay with it all.

Hello to everyone else.

barkingtreefrog · 06/11/2013 17:06

Hope the scan was good kitty.

Well I visited the twins. What I didn't know was that grandparents (on the Dad's side) were staying this week, and he was home as well! Thought it would just be Mum home with the twins.... Anyway, I did ok for the first minute then walked into the kitchen and burst into tears. Pretty much held it together after the initial outburst but it wasn't easy. She was lovely though, she understood it had been difficult for me to visit. Didn't hold either of them as they were asleep and didn't wake while I was there. The thing is, I thought it was going to be ok once I got there, that I was building it up to be worse than it might be. But it really wasn't 'ok' and I'm no more looking forward to a repeat visit as I was to this one. Sad . It's not exactly given me the confidence to tackle the next step of seeing pg-with-same-size-bump, given she's really not one for employing empathy.

Boodle9 · 06/11/2013 19:39

Barking, I'm so sorry it was a difficult day for you. I admire you just for going. I have spent the last 2 years avoiding pretty much everyone who has had a baby since I started TTC. You are very brave just to go at all.

Next time a visit is discussed, be very busy with school work...

Boodle9 · 06/11/2013 19:39

Oh, Kitty! Hope the scan went OK?

barkingtreefrog · 06/11/2013 20:42

Boodle I'm lucky in that until this summer my social group were pretty much childless, with only two exceptions. One friend has a 4 and 6 year old, but I'm very close to them and they were both born before a started ttc so it's only difficult on occasion when she laments something she can't do because of the kids and I want to throttle her.... The other friend has a toddler that was born a few months before we started ttc but she had her share of problems (including an ectopic pg and a mc) so again, that's only difficult when she tries to make me feel better by saying 'at least you don't have to deal with.....'

But in the last couple of years since we started trying, the majority of our local friends have got married (I can't tell you how many bloody weddings!) and four couples are now pg or with new borns and I know there are others trying. If I avoid all of them I won't have many friends left.... And also, I'd love to think some of their gorgeous baby stuff could head our way when we are the ones with a newborn Wink Shock . Ha ha! Grin

ladybunnikins · 06/11/2013 20:45

RP technically yes, but doesn't feel it. I think I'll just consider myself PUPO until the next blood test.
Kitty really hoping the scan went well today x

ladybunnikins · 06/11/2013 20:49

RP if you discard the temperature on the 27th does it change your O day to Sunday?

Bunnygirlie · 06/11/2013 21:29

Berriessssssssss I'm home!

barking sorry you had a bad day, it really is crappy sometimes isn't it Hun x

Well got back tonight and opened all our post, usual crap and a wedding save the date card and..... a letter from FC about getting the ivf ball rolling! Haven't read it yet, lots of info and forms that I can't get my head round now! Very surprised to get stuff so soon!
