Planning ahead for Christmas! December bus starting far too early...

Hi All,

Anyone else around for the Dec bus yet? I think AF has managed to kick me off Nov already as she has arrived a few days early, and my cycle will probably mean she is next due at the beginning of Dec rather than Nov.

So does anyone else want to climb on board and help me hang tinsel and drink mulled wine to while away the time until that bfp in Dec?

Ladies honeybear just gave me the heads up there that FRER are on amazon for 3.50 for 2 pack (plus 1.69 p+p) just ordered a pack for myself as I haven't been able to get FRER for some reason every time I've tried to at the shops :/

So I will have 2 FRER and 1 superdrug hpt for next month! Hoping not to use them super early :/ but then I'm not opking this month so best not test until about 11th Dec at the earliest!

Sazzle a glass of wine won't hurt at all, enjoy! I figure life is too short to put it in hold every other fortnight

My cycles are still ridiculously long (43 - 45 days). Feeling really sad now, desperate for a baby, not just for us, but for DMIL who may or may not still be with us by the time it happens, if it ever does (terminal stomach cancer), really was hoping November would be our month and we could give her some happy news for Christmas.
Been on a stupid diet to try and bring on ovulation but its clearly not worked, so bring on the wine....!

Honeybear that's a great spot! I managed to just get 4 superdrug ones for £7 and thought that was good, but frer's at that price is fab!

Thanks for the welcome, they have varied since stopping the pill in May, so far have been, 37, 53, 45 & now 43, I suppose that's only 4 cycles, even though we've been trying for 6 months
I've spoken to the practice nurse about it but she told me I have to wait a year before they will look into it, I just wish we'd known, I would have come off the pill a lot sooner

Hello! Way back on the first page a poster asked if there were any other teachers on here waiting for December to conceive - hand up here! We've had a couple of 'oops' moments this month and no AF yet but to be honest I can't remember when I'm due ... anyway, cycle 1 here we come! Ttc no. 2.

Dinah, have you thought about temping? I found it so helpful to track my cycles after coming off the pill and it can also show ovulation too ( albeit after the event) but with opks too, it might make you feel a bit more in control!

Did try attempting to temp last month, but it was so up & down & temp seemed to be really low all month, I'll try again this time, did try using opk's too but never got a positive. Not really sure when to aim for though tbh.

Thanks for the congratulations everyone! Three tests later it's a pretty official bfp. We're really chuffed but very surprised and honestly I still don't feel pregnant at all. This site had me convinced I'd 'just know'and have loads of symptoms so when they didn't happen I totally put it out of my mind.

We'd been waiting for ages to start trying for annoying reasons so this feels both sudden and like its taken ages to get to this point. I thought we'd missed my daares because we didn't dtd at all in the 3 days before of and then just once on the evening of. I guess that was enough though! I definitely think this is a good omen for the thread though. Can I still have my bfp on this thread please? I know it's not December yet but I like it here!

Dorothea definitely think you should be leading the way for the BFPs on the December bus! Lovin the complete lack of symptoms and your 1 'lucky' deed I reckon you're an inspiration to us all!

Deardinah sorry to hear about your MIL, definitely have fingers crossed for your BFP this month! If it's any consolation the month we got BFP with our angel I did OPKs and never got a positive that month (obviously missed it) and that was the month we got up duffed so who knows!

Hi everyone, I feel a bit of a fraud being on this bus because I'll hopefully be ov on Christmas Day so wouldn't get a bfp/AF until the new year, but it's nice to wait with others and I'm learning loads from you all. December will be our first month trying but I feel really excited, my dm has just told me that my cousin is pg and it would be lovely to have 2lo's in the family of the same age, also I'd be testing for a bfp on my df's birthday so I'm hoping he sends some luck and love down from heaven that day.

Congrats to the early bfp's, here's hoping it's the start of a trend! I was reading an article the other day which said that every year the birth rate peaks in September, so this could be the most successful month yet!

Congrats Dorothea! I'd definitely vote for your bfp to go on this bus.

Dinah, I think you OPK test everyday from about day 10until the other side of a +ve. Get a huge batch of cheapies from from amazon or ebay. Test mid afternoon as you're more likely to catch the surge around that time.

Sorry, I have been a bit useless at updating stats over the last few days. We are trying to sort out a house move which is driving me a bit mad. I also seem to be finally ovulating (cd25 today) so dtd has been high on my agenda . I'm not 100% sure if I have oved yet, or if I will tomorrow or so but I'm guessing its between yesterday & tomorrow, so tww starts on Sunday...

How is everyone else getting on? Anyone testing soon? I see a few of us are hoping to this weekend - good luck!!

Could I jump on the December bus?! Dec will be cycle 2 TTC #1 with AF/BFP due 23rd December. November has been our first cycle of trying with AF due 25th Nov however I'm not holding out too much hope (probably to stop myself getting carried away!!)
