Hi All,

Anyone else around for the Dec bus yet? I think AF has managed to kick me off Nov already as she has arrived a few days early, and my cycle will probably mean she is next due at the beginning of Dec rather than Nov.

So does anyone else want to climb on board and help me hang tinsel and drink mulled wine to while away the time until that bfp in Dec?

Hello December bus buddies! I just got my eviction notice from November's bus and am feeling deeply grumpy and in need of a bus party - I bring twiglets, non-alcoholic Wine and very sugary Cake.

My stats are cycle 4, TTC#1, Bfp due 19 Dec. As I'm 35 am getting increasingly worried that this bus ticket might be a season ticket...! Good luck to all our bus buddies, looking forward to positive vibes and support all around.

And Ruby having had a cousin I love dearly go through just the same I have a small inkling of what you've been through, I am so sorry - wishing and hoping that this month is your BFP and fx :)

cottonwool4brains · 20/11/2013 00:23

For the last 8 months I have not bothered with all the temping and opinion stuff. I this cycle doesn't work I'm going to try both. Think is I haven't a clue about either! Can't think how people do this for 2 years plus? me and dh are going potty! He was convinced I was pg last cycle. Beginning to think dd will he an only child..... Very sad, hope this won't be correct.... consoling myself with wine....

cottonwool4brains · 20/11/2013 00:24

Or opk even! Damn predictive text!

SaraRB123 · 20/11/2013 07:35

Cottonwool, I couldn't tell you about temping as I don't do that (yet) but I just buy IC OPKs and they work fine. I had bought a cbfm which incidentally doesn't work and has to go back but if I'm honest I may just get refund instead of a replacement as IC seem to work fine. Just don't use them with FMU like I was doing lol, I nearly missed my ov this weekend because I was testing in the morning and getting -ve result which was not accurate x

Rubyshoe · 20/11/2013 08:40

Hi Cottonwool we have been using OPKs for the last 3 months and we used them when we got our BFP last time. The CB OPKs are good but pricey and as I think you only have an LH surge for about 10 hours you can miss it if you only test once a day. Bought the cheap ones off Amazon (about 8 quid for 50) which have been spot on every month giving us a positive and cheap price means you can repeat in the afternoon or evening. I' went over to CBFM last month which did shows 2 peak days but despite the regular AF, +ve OPks and peak days on cBFM, I have started temping this month as am STiLL concerned I may not be ovulating..... At least I can laugh at myself! Good luck with what ever you decided todo but Fx for your BfP this month and then you won't need it! Hoorah!

SoMuchFruit · 20/11/2013 08:41

That's so tragic Ruby

I hope that you get your BFP asap. Thanks

Loving the devil-may-care attitude on this bus - yay for that! I've joined up to FF this month, as somewhere to keep track of happenings rather than as a guide. Otherwise, apart from my Veno's (YUCK) and the usual Folic + BVits.

mama31 · 20/11/2013 08:49

SMF...venos???? for a cough??

It is soooooo cold today (hands out hot water bottles to everyone on the bus and fluffy blankets)

crazylady2013 · 20/11/2013 08:54

Morning ladies. Please can I have a ticket please. tcc#1 cycle 4 BFP 8 Dec. Time to put a bit of effot in. Last month was a waste because didn't dtd much (3 times!!!) as I had the flu. So in my mind I feel like I'm actually on cycle 3. Still not doing anything special here but that may all change in the new year. really just want to enjoy christmas before getting all serious. Anyway, good luck to you all. Hope there are plenty of BFPs wrapped up under the tree. However, I have brought along some mulled cider to keep us all warm while we wait. Grin

lucyfluff · 20/11/2013 09:07

babyspice2501 · 20/11/2013 09:18

Welcome babyspice and good luck to you!! :)

I'm just wishing AF would do one!! It's a rough one and as I was spotting 5 days prior to it, I already feel like I've had it for a week!!! Please let it be gone by the wkend so I can have some fun!!!!!

babyspice2501 · 20/11/2013 09:49

Thankyou mama! Although I know it must be annoying for you to be bleeding that long I cant help but feel jealous you have your af lol my fingers are crossed for you though for the weekend!

And lucyfluff im not sure how much if at all low iron impacts on pregnancy/conception. Sorry I know its not much help but I would rather answer stupidly than ignore lol

mama31 · 20/11/2013 10:19

Lucy I'm not sure either but I know that my iron is always either low or at its best is satisfactory but never good or normal! I can't take iron tablets either so I just try to eat lots of foods that are rich in iron...green leafy veg, red meat etc

SoMuchFruit · 20/11/2013 10:22

Venos! For the EWCM .. it improves it Wink

Karmalaa · 20/11/2013 10:23

morning everyone! lucyfluff I've been taking an iron supplement since starting TTC (along with lots of others!) I read that its good to boost your iron now so that you have good levels when you fall pregnant, I also get anaemic easily if I get run down (dr says its due to being a red-head) so I thought an iron supplement couldn't hurt!

What other pills are we all popping to get us baby ready?

Karmalaa · 20/11/2013 10:25

I meant "along with lots of others!" as in lots of other supplements not lots of other people!

PunkyPod · 20/11/2013 10:33

My post has disappeared...
Anyway I was having a moan because I still haven't had a positive opk. Got the second line on day 16 last cycle and today is day 17. Humpf. DTD is happening regularly but I want a positive strip!

mama31 · 20/11/2013 11:10

SMF really?? Haha!!!!! I have venos in the house, it is so rank though but I do have a tickly cough at the minute so might have some!!! Lol

lucyfluff · 20/11/2013 12:40

Ha yeah hopefullu tonight he will get the job done properly!!!!

Ok, think I will check out some iron tablets at the wkend, have history of very low after births and wondered if I should take a boost now. Im only taking folic acid atm karma....Smile

Feel for you mama...AF sucks at times Sad hope it buggers off for you by the wkend. We are due around the same time in dec Grin

lucyfluff · 20/11/2013 12:42

ps its now hailstones here.....what is this weather about!!!!!

mama31 · 20/11/2013 13:44

Lucy I know!!! It's so windy and stormy here!! Wish I could go home and get my pj's on! Work is dragging!!!! :(

SoMuchFruit · 20/11/2013 14:30

Mama - If you google it's Guaifenesin & pregnancy you want to search. Lots of stuff comes up, in the States the use a tablet form, Mucinex or Humibid specifically when ttc.

The only cough medicine without the 'bad' ingredients in it is Veno's Expectorant Smile

I had a terrible cold last month and I took Veno's as directed (10ml 3xday) and.. tmi!... had rivers of EWCM!

SoMuchFruit · 20/11/2013 14:34
  • the bad ingredient is Dextromethorphan - it's a decongestant. It will dry up any mucus at all and also, it's not good for any small bean that might be growing.

It's a very effective decongestant however. We use it sometimes for the horses and it's not indicated in pregnant or lactating mares so that says it all for me - horses aren't usually as medically sensitive as people. You can give in-foal mares a whole load of stuff and they are fine, but not that stuff!

SoMuchFruit · 20/11/2013 14:41

Stupid phone, sorry for all the separate posts!

I am taking 10ml (100mg Guaifenesin per 5ml) 3 x a day (am/lunch/pm) and I started taking it 2 days ago but interweb says take from 5 days pre ov - I missed that bit but thought I'd give it a go anyway!
